Absolutely destroyed the food. We got the galbi (must have), seafood pancakes (must have), and bonchon of course. Everything was delicious, can’t wait to return.

First and last. Server was polite. But, there was lipstick on my water cup and I found a strand of hair in the kimchi. That was the welcoming note so, its a no. We stayed because my mom wanted to help the server with tip. He reminded her of one of the grandkids. We came initially, for KB at Azit, across the street. They were good. They were unfortunately closed, open only for dinner at 5.If you stay anyway, bulgogi bibimpap was good, nothing grand to return for but it was good.

Recently, Ive had a lot of friends move to the state and country of Texas! They tell me about the many different reasons why it makes so much sense to move there ( cheaper gas?) and the bonus of getting Real BBQ. For me, Its a No thank you for now! Still love the 🌈 rainbow of people, culture, and FOOD of the Bay!Daol is a comfortable and relaxing homey Korean restaurant in Oakland. Warm tofu soup and sizzling bbq items here. The dolsot bibimbop has beautiful colors and vegetables. A great dish that represents the mix and colors of the Bay.

2022.04Been back here two more timesMul naeng myeon (cold noodle) for a warm night hit the spot. The broth was refreshing, loved the delicate slices of radish, apple, and cucumber. I wasnt the biggest fan of the cut of meat they used (fatty ground meat-like), but the seasoning was great. I want to eat this all summer.Someone in reviews recommended the mackerel and tofu soup combo--yesss. Fish flaky and well seasoned, it didnt taste like they slapped a sad frozen fillet onto the grill.Theres something so satisfying about sitting down to Korean food and you get a whole spread of banchan with a wide array of colors and flavor profiles.2021.12So good! Had solo dinner of tofu soup and galbi, and both were seasoned perfectly for my taste. Galbi was meaty and not full of stringy fat, and soup was flavorful without tasting like they dumped in ramen flavor packet--it was still great as leftover the next day.Any time I eat Korean food, the banchan is always the star of the show, and I liked the ones here. Gotta come back for more dishes.

Came on Saturday night past 8PM, modestly busy, wasnt hard to get a table. Was recommended as my friend knew the owners son.The kimchi pancake was pretty decent, definitely tasted better with something heavily savory like the hot pot or maybe bosam.Their jeongol says its for 2 - 3, but honestly, it could feed 4 people easily. Maybe 2 Korean guys who just got out of their 2 year service could finish this in a sitting. Portions were very generous, broth was lightly sweet to offset how much beef we were eating.Service was great, pretty attentive, rarely needed anything more than maybe a soup ladle.

We randomly found this place on Google map, and were super happy that we found it!With 2 adults and two young kids (6 and 3,) we ordered 7 different dishes because we were excited with the variety of dishes they have to offer. And everything tastes so good!! We spent $135 before tips, which we totally think its worth it. The house special, Bossam is worth trying! Galbi was yummy, not overly sweet, soup and Japchae were great. The banchan was yummy! Fish and pancake were also delicious. Bibimbub was also good.

My girlfriend and I LOVE Daol. My girlfriend loves tofu soup and I love to get spicy pork and rice. So we just get a combo and it fills us up perfectly.They also feature our favorite banchan especially compared to other Korean spots nearby.Whether dining in or ordering to go, service never took long.Excellent spot!!

The food was wonderful here. They give a lot of assorted banchans. The place is nice and clean and feels very homey. The servers were very accommodating. We ordered a spicy pork dolsot bibimbap. It was very flavorful and yummy. I especially loved the crunchy rice on the bottom of the pot. It wasnt oily at all. I think it is the best bibimbap around. We also ordered a bulgogi. The meat was very tender and well marinated. Plus, the price is really reasonable for dinner. I would definitely come back again.

The food and service lived up to our expectations.From outside to in, the restaurant was clean, modern looking, and inviting. The staff was friendly and courteous. The side dishes were plentiful and varied, and each offered a unique taste and texture to get our appetites running and to add to our main dishes. If spicy is your thing, then their menu is sure to satisfy. From soft tofu stew akin to their name sake, to spicy ramen cakes, Daol delivers on the spice and flavor, all at moderate prices.

Tasteless bulgogi that felt like it was zapped in the microwave. Remarkably bland and possibly the worst meal my family has had in years. The sides were also remarkably NOT fresh. Maybe we came here on an off night? Unfortunately I’ll never know. Avoid this place at all costs. And it’s not cheap ($30 per plate of tasteless microwave meat!)

Super basic space, if ambiance or authentic setting is your jam- this aint it. Paper napkins. Metal chopsticks for the sustainable win!Never had Korean food, thankfully had a friend who was well versed. She thoughtfully told the server I was vegan. Probably would just stick to saying no fish in the future. She got short ribs and bunchan, amazing selection of little bites. The server kindly separated the dishes with fish, the kimchi was left on my side- theres no fish in it but typically its in the liquid so, choose your own adventure.I got the bibimbap tofu, no egg.Everything tasted a little like toasted sesame oil, which I love but it was on everything..veg was all cooked really well, still had texture and color and wasnt mushy.Leftovers were amazing :)

Very good Korean. Sundubu is very flavorful and rich w/ a nice silky tofu. The bibimbop has many ingredients but they all work well together. The seafood pancake is also loaded, very good. The steamed dumplings are OK, wouldn’t get it again. And the pork bulgogi was a bit salty but good flavor.

This place has always been my go to for authentic Korean food! Could definitely tell that they use high quality ingredients and that they put love into the food. Home cooking that takes time and effort is truly the best.To start off, love that they serve an 11 side dishes (banchan) with your dine in meal. From everything Ive tried, Ive enjoyed. Faves would be their steamed dumplings, pan fried tofu, samgyetang, soft tofu soup, bibimbap, and their pancakes. Pair it up with soju; cheers to good food and good alcohol!

I went here with some Korean friends, who all agreed that the food reminded them of their mothers cooking! The waitstaff is a bit frazzled during the dinner rush, but the food is amazing and a great value. We absolutely stuffed ourselves for about $20 per person (including tax and tip!). I really enjoyed the fried pork bellies and the pancake appetizer. Lovely authentic experience!

For the love of all things good, please come prepared to share the food. I came in for dinner alone and ordered a pork bibimbap. I found myself faced with almost 10 side dishes (I turned away a few as I didnt want to waste them), and not a bowl of bibimbap but a huge bowl of rice and pork AND a plate overflowing with vegetables. It was all really yummy, and I ate myself green and was still unable to eat more than 2/3 of the meal. The staff was friendly and struck a good balance between being attentive and unintrusive. I highly recommend this place, but please dont come alone unless you have impressive stomach capacity.

Delicious and comforting food in a cozy space. I ordered a dolsot with tofu, and it was great! It was a layer of crispy rice, covered with a variety of Korean vegetables, and with a sunny side up egg and pan fried tofu. It was wonderful, and you can choose to eat it with spicy sauce or soy sauce.

Weve gone here several times and have had the dolsot bibimbap and ramen. Portions are huge and of good quality, and you get many sides served with your bibimbap. Prices are very reasonable, and this is now one of my goto places for a good meal on a budget.Ambiance is slightly above average, but not super specia, nor is it cheap feeling. If youre looking for more of a fancy feel or upscale restaurant for a date or something, there is another Korean restaurant very close, but youll pay for the ambiance with smaller portions and similar quality.

So much care put into each meal. The ingredients are of high quality and the dishes themselves. The food and service were disappointing this afternoon. The portions were huge, but the dolsot tofu, rice cake ramen, and tofu soup in a combo meal lacked flavor. My order arrived much later than my family members’ orders. We observed that other tables were waiting a while for their bill or water, and one had an incorrect order. Casserole House is one of our favorite places to eat in Oakland. They serve some of the best Korean food period. The black goat soup is where its at! The staff is always so welcoming and friendly. They remember us when we come in and treat us like family. The atmosphere is cozy and makes you feel as though you are visiting a friends house for dinner. All of the sides are so tasty and fresh. Cold and rainy El Niño winter? Perfect time to eat Korean food! Casserole House is a great neighborhood spot for, you guessed it, Korean casseroles.You can get other items as well (such as bibimbap and some barbecue like bulgolgi), but the star is really the casseroles. You have a variety to choose from, such as seafood, kimchi, and ramyun. You really cant go wrong. We got the dumpling one. A small is the perfect size for two people. The casserole includes a variety of banchan, a free small pancake, and rice. The banchan and pancake were delicious! I liked that they didnt go overboard with the number of banchan and really focused on quality. I loved the azuki and soybeans. You almost never see that anymore.The casserole was very good. Theres something about fermented pepper as a seasoning for a soupy meal. The dumplings in be casserole were big and flavorful. Even better when they split open and absorb all the flavors of the spicy broth.Bonus points for the ahjumma who came by often to refill our tea (which was awesome since it had some ginger and other herbs in it), give us tips and fun facts about Korean food, and gave us her secret fermented lemon tea as a finisher. I would go back just to chat it up with her!When youre not feeling like gorging yourself on all you can eat barbecue (dont get me wrong, ayce barbecue is awesome, but not every week), Casserole House is a great option for a healthy, hearty, and delicious meal.

Some authentic home cookin (or at least how I imagine home cooking to be if I was Korean, which Im not, so only guessing). The first plate to hit the table is a nice surprise: onion pancake, which is like a little pizza cut into 8 slices. After that, a good variety of decent panchans arrived, followed by our spicy pork (tasty) and noodles with clam (huge portion in a huge bowl).The women working there are very friendly and happy to explain all things Korean food-related to Korean gringos like me. When I began to scoop leftovers into the doggy container* she sat down at our table and told me I was doing it all wrong, and promptly took over and showed how leftovers should be packed together, along with detailed re-heating instructions. Like I said, very nice people.*Its very rare I dont cleanup all the food on the table, but there was just so much food...I couldnt do it.

It was so nice to have our last meal on our US trip here. While traveling this time, I was worried that people would give me a preconceived notion that Korean food is not so tasty when I went to a restaurant where Korean food was really bad. The basic side dishes were delicious, and the price, taste, and plating of other menus were also good. I cant eat spicy food well because Im spicy, but I think foreigners can eat it because none of the food here is spicy. Of course, it also fit very well with Korean people. It was a very good dinner~ Sell a lot!!
