Gabriel was a superb server, considering a room 7 - 8 full tables, which he handled mostly by himself. The in restaurant experience is tough to handle. There’s no air conditioning, no booths, and heat bearing down the glass wall and entrance. Only our toddlers got plastic forks, so we only could use our disposable chopsticks as utensils. Plus side, we were given ice cold metal cups to drink water. We will return, if only for a pick up dinner to eat at home. The sushi roll portions are generous, and the menu is simple and varied. I thank Gabriel for being as diligent as he could, because he could use a little more help serving customers.

I had eaten here once before and honestly was happy with the sushi. So I decided to come back again for lunch. Funny thing though….. In what can only be described as a brilliant business decision they close for lunch….during lunch and on a Saturday?! Clearly not the place to go to for lunch and more of a dinner place. Or at least for as long as they stay in business with that plan.

We found this little gem by mistake. After so many years living in Beaumont/Banning area and seeing this place I decided to finally walk in and give this place a try. This place is very small but very nicely decorated and some of the best tasting Japanese food we have ever had. Their sushi is always fresh and the ramen is delicious. Whats better then all of this you ask? There prices are unbeatable. $10.99 will get you a large bowl of ramen and a California roll. I think I have found my new favorite restaurant in the Beaumont/Banning area. In a way I didnt want to give this place such good reviews because I didnt want it to get overly crowded for such a small place but I had to recommend it to everyone.

I wouldn’t recommend dining in to eat here because to go orders seem to get more of the attention than the dine ins. I do however recommend ordering to go because the food is delicious and still tastes fresh by the time you get home. Drinks here are out of a can or bottle so no fountain drinks. I give it some time before I’ll actually dine in but for now I really love the food and recommend ordering food to go.

The food is amazing! I dont recommend going here to sit down, eat, and to be waited on. Order your food ahead of time, give them at least 30 minutes to prepare (because they are that popular and very small), and pick it up! That simple 👌 all of the sushi and Ramin is delicious!!

The spicy grilled salmon is a amazing it is just so good, haven’t ate good sushi for a while. The vegetable ramen is fine, it was lacking flavor,maybe cuz the broth and the noodles separated? It is a good idea tho cuz it’s only to go orders due COVID-19, but the noodles don’t suck the broth so you can’t really taste flavors .

Sushi: great value with the 2 for 16.50. Tastes great, decent portion - much better as an app than an actual app imo. The ramen: good flavor in the soup. Certainly thinner than your usual tonkotsu, but still good. Meat, while not the traditional chashu, was very tasty and came in a good portion. The noodles were the only disappointment. While the portion was generous, they were just angel hair or something and not ramen noodles. No chew to them and missing that characteristic taste of ramen noodles. That being said, good value and service.

I gave it 4 stars because the place can be a little hard to find in the shopping center and it was very small inside.There are only 9 tables and each table seats 4 so if all tables are full it can feel a little tight. The service was great and it was quick too. I went when it was lunch time so I was lucky to have gotten the last table available. The menu is very easy to read and some of the items on the menu only have pictures and a tittle and no description, but if you ask they are friendly to explain. The food was good. I ordered the chicken miso ramen. The broth was creamy, the chicken was breaded but tasty and the noodles where a little tough but overall very delicious.

Occasionally mediocre.Their sushi is slightly better than that found at your local grocery store (slightly).The ambiance is that of a retail outlet that should be selling cigarettes and lottery tickets.If the service was great, I would consider over generously, overrating this place 3 stars.Im a big believer in not judging a book by its cover, especially when it comes to some restaurants. However, in the case of Darumaya, I suggest another more appropriate thought.Trust your first instinct!If your car is broken down at the corner gas stationGo to the Thai place on the other end of the mall. Way better food and much better service

Basic and delicious.They have modest inscription on a banner or mount of sorts saying:Ramen, Sushi, TeryakiAnd they do it to perfection..Choices of fresh proteins and soup broths, including vegan options.Their may be a slight wait if the small place is almost full but well worth it. Good fresh sushi, and they offer a tempura fried roll with semi cooked fish to maybe get skeptical friends to try sushi in approachable way.Prices are fair. Food is Great and authentic, everything I wanted in rayman was present and done well, and the egg was not overdone. When Im back in town Im sure this will be my Niponese spot.#HighlyRecommemded. 10.5/10!!!👍🏾

I really hope the business owner reads these and takes the feedback and uses it to improve their business. First let me start with the positive, the food is amazing!! The hostess that they have greeting their guests and serving them is the TOTAL WRONG person you want being the first face of the business. She is rude, short, and she walks business. Like seriously walks business. Guests walk in and she says she has NO idea how long the wait in. Im not even gonna list everything but shes the moat terrible waitress/hostess Ive ever seen!! Secondly, its time for this business to expand. The place is tiny and theres way more demand than supply for the space. They get super busy cuz the food is good. Theres only 7 little tables and theres alot of customers who walk in.

This place is almost like a secret find in that it is so good yet almost invisible. Tucked in to an otherwise non-descript shopping mall that caters to several nearby gated, secure senior housing developments, Darumaya is tiny but delicious. The dining area has only about eight tables. It appears that they have a robust take-out trade. The service is quite good: Accurate, prompt, and deferential. But, the star of the show is the food. It is marvelous. I am not a habitual Japanese cuisine fan -- the appeal of raw fish is beyond me. But, as indicated in several of my other reviews, I eat fish every Friday, so I am always on the look out for those good sources of Omega-3s. I found an ideal candidate in Darumayas Teriyaki Salmon plate (see my photo). The fish comes in a generous portion, very hot, perfectly cooked throughout, drizzled with luscious Teriyaki sauce, and garnished with chopped green onion. It is accompanied by steamed white rice and a scrumptious mix of field greens with chopped tomato, covered in a delicate white dressing. I also order the vegetable tempura appetizer, which is supposed to serve several, but it is so good that I polish the whole thing off by myself. The veggies are served with a bowl of broth for dipping and I like to infuse the rice with soy sauce. Last time, they served me a bowl of miso soup that I did not request and for which I was not charged -- go figure. To top it off, they end the meal with a complementary single scoop of ice cream (their choice of flavor). All this for Fifteen Bucks -- You cannot beat it! This place is a gem and I highly recommend it.

Never fails to disappoint. They ALWAYS get my order wrong! It’s like they don’t know the items on their own menu. Then I see the cook in the back cutting sushi, then putting his hands on noodles and shrimp, and touching everything else with his bare hands. Also they always have me waiting over 30 minutes for just a sushi roll!

This was hands down the worst ramen I’ve ever tasted. It was made with spaghetti noodles… I wish I was joking. The veggie broth and tofu were alright, but the spaghetti was incredibly unpleasant when you’re expecting ramen noodles. It was so dense, and despite not finishing the soup, I ended up regurgitating a little on the drive home. The water and hot tea had a bad taste (maybe the cups?), and the restaurant smelled like it had been wiped down with baby wipes rather than disinfectant. Seaweed salad and vegetable tempura were fine, and service was good. Genuinely confused how the rating is as high as it is. Was excited to try this hole-in-the-wall with a 4.5 rating, but it was singularly the worst dining experience of my life.

Not terrible, but not a place I would go for good ramen or sushi. Sushi fell apart, it wasnt made with sticky, sushi rice. I will say the yellow tail sashimi was very good. The ramen broth was flavorless, lacked typical ramen items available to add as with real ramen houses. All I found in my soup was a half boiled egg, some green onion, the beef was a little tough, and I declined the canned corn. My guess is, this place isnt owned by Japanese? 🤷🏻‍♀️

We ordered 2 pork ramen bowls- #1 and #2, and ordered extra meat. #3 pork ramen has vegetables. But Both ramen bowls came back looking alike with beef! Not pork! No vegetables!I told the lady we ordered the pork ramen #1 and #3 ..she responded with What do you want me to do about it?Shocked that she responded that way I replied uhh can we get what we ordered? Always very fresh fish and excellent ingredients used in everything Ive tried. I definitely recommend the 2sushi rolls for 14.95...theres a decent amount of rolls to choose from also. Tiger roll was better than the crunch roll but not to take from the crunch rolls crunchy goodness!Also amazing is the fried rice with combination of beef chicken and shrimp...along with assorted veggies...this is one of the best Ive tried.To top it all off, the waitress is very polite and attentive and the kitchen staff are quick and present a beautiful plate.They are now open for inside dining and I highly recommend this hidden gem in the city of banning which is not known for its sushi.Great job Darumaya....you folks make some great food consistently for a very fair price.

My boyfriend and I have been coming here for several years now we really love the sushi its fantastic and best in the town. Only complaint I have is that everytime we ask for eel sauce or spicy mayo on the side they hesitate or seem upset and sometimes wont give it to us unless we ask twice. I know its not a big deal but we dont ask for much when we go. Just your basic condiments for the food.

We decided to try this place out rather than drive to Redlands. I got the chicken ramen and he got the chicken miso. The server was very nice and answered questions and was happy to explain the menu. I thought the broth was great but the noodles were a little heavy but itherwise the soup was tasty. However it was hard for my boyfriend to get the spice level up on his miso ramen after even adding plenty of chili paste and Sriracha. For this he stated the place in redlands near sprouts was better. Would be great if they had a spicy option for their ramen besides Sriracha and chili paste. For me the only other thing that would have made it better would be some other add ins and a change in noodles. Otherwise i recommend giving this place a shot. The sushi looked good although we didnt try any. Portion size was great and with tip and 1 soda and 1 water we were out the door for 30 bucks. I would definitely go back.

Yep so this place is not ramen its a bowl of what ever you want to call it... its not ramen when the main noodles are angel hair pasta and bamboo shoots are ice cold meat is pretty much fat and canned corn and come on with the angel hair pasta no service ... the cup that you pour the water into tasted funny had a whole bunch of green powder at lease they apologized about that but my GoD the angel hair pasta come on. Really good food, prepared when you order, fresh, i love the fried shrimp and the teriyaki chicken bowl.I always bring friends and family to this little place, and they all love it. Ok, so we arent sushi eaters and opted for the tempura (shrimp & veggie) and beef and chicken teriyaki. The teriyaki was cooked well & was very moist. However, the sauce was really tasty for the first few bites but became overwhelming sweet as we tried to finish up. The tempura batter was too thick and unfortunately held too much oil in it. We both suffered horrible ingestion throughout the night. We cant review other dishes. The ones we ordered we would not get again.

Ordered the Tonkasu ramen and tempura combo. Came with 3pcs shrimp tempura and while Ive had tempura at maybe ten different restaurants this was easily the best, probably a standard. Very light, did not detract from the taste of the shrimp but added that perfect crispy sweetness. The ramen was extremely well presented and while I normally dont eat a lot per sitting, I easily finished it. Broth great flavor and hot until the end, but never uncomfortably hot, vegetables fresh and crisp, egg expertly done. If ramen is your thing or you just want to try it, theres no better place short of LA. Also, their noodles are always very consistent to the best texture, and the shrimp was the same: precisely firm, if the scale was 1 (overcooked) - 10 (undercooked) they were a solid 5!

Back a year ago, a friend and I went to L.A. to try some authentic miso ramen. The food was so good that it ruined regular microwave ramen for me.Months passed and I started craving the taste again, but to my dismay I had no means of getting back to L.A. for more of it. Then I found Darumaya, a little shop nestled in the sun lakes shopping center that not only served miso ramen in the style I enjoyed, it was even tastier then what the fancy places of L.A had to offer!I highly recommend this place for the quality food, amazing staff, and wonderful atmosphere.

I give your 5 because of price in conjunction with quality. It is good, not the best but we got ramen, spider roll, California roll, salmon nigiri, yellowtail and raimbow roll. Everything was very good and tasty. The spider roll crab was very good and fresh as was the other fish which I was not expecting because of the price. Its a small place and we were fortunate to get seated shortly after we showed up.

I dont like to give a small restaurant anything other than a 5 star. Been there twice, under the new management. The sushi rice was on the dry side (like kept exposed too long) and the miso soup was very watered down. As i did not know the owner I did not tell him. The miso soup is one of the easiest to prepare. The rice and soup are the basic in a sushi meal. Me and my wife love sushi and we eaten all over incvluding Japan. I hope my expectation is not too high.
