Was looking for something unique and stumbled across this place. I got the Mac and cheese dog with a veggie hot dog and no bacon, with a side of cheese fries. I was not disappointed. The food was fresh hot and delicious. I will be returning as soon as possible.

I go here regularly. High time I left them a nice review. They are super friendly here and the hot dogs are super tasty. I usually get the Santa Barbara dog. Delicious! Last time I was here I got the mac and cheese which was also excellent. These guys are over in the turnpike shopping center across the way from lighthouse coffee. Great hot dogs, you cant go wrong with any of their menu items.

First time visit, as a local, bc our 11yo grandson told us about it. So fun! and reminded us of the classic hot dog places you can find in Chicago. So many varieties, (and yes, other choices on the menu). They even have a menu just for their awesome fry selection. Its located right off the freeway, across from the high school, so make sure your weekday visits are before 12:12pm. Lol!

Happened upon this place while on quick family beach weekend.Quick casual joint with a super-friendly staff.They’ve got a nice variety of dogs, burgers, and various fries.We ordered a couple different dogs (Santa Barbara, bbq concoction, a basic kids dog, and a mac and cheese dog). We also tried the asada fries.Long story short, we’re gonna die a few days sooner, but it was probably worth it. The dogs were ridiculous. The frank was high quality and cooked perfectly. The toppings were proportioned well and the bun nicely grilled/toasted.Very nicely done all around. Definitely worth a stop for a little bite indulgence.

Absolutely delicious! I am a hot dog fanatic, and this place was a good find for sure. Went with a classic Chicago dog and a pizza hot dog which was recommended by the girl working when I said I wanted to get a weird one. Both were sooo good.

This place is so cool! The service is amazing, and the hot dogs super tasty. My favorite thing on their menu is their corn with hot Cheetos :). Dave is usually around to greet you with a smile, the hot dogs are ready as soon as you order with fresh ingredients. This has definitely become one my favorite spots.

It just takes a while to get your food. I want to order before arriving but they want a credit card over the phone. I am a little iffy about dishing my card via phone. Since I cant preorder and I have to wait 15 min just for takeout and for that I knock off a star. Other than that, good food.

Food is good, very helpful staff as well. It’s a small place with a few seats to stay in eat if you wish. Most the time it seems people just use the seats to wait for their food then take it home. We stayed to eat and the staff brought us our food when it was ready. Overall was a good experience

Good hot dogs. Note that the food stand on Milpas no longer exists and that Daves has moved into this new location. Ive had several of the hot dogs, and the Pizza Dog is the best and most memorable, featuring the hot dog covered with pizza sauce and parmesan cheese, and the bun closed over it all by an outside seal of melted and nearly-burnt mozzarella and pepperoni. Actually tastes very pizza like. Santa Barbara dog is good too -- reminds me of a fancy TJ Dog.

Ordered the Daves style dog, an order of traditional wings and tater tots. I got my Daves style dog with a hot link. The hot dog was ok, nothing exceptional tasted like something I could make at home. Maybe if i had gotten one of the more complicated or specialty dogs I would have been more impressed.The tater tots were really good, very hot and crispy when I got them. The wings were also hot and crispy. I got the spicier flavor and the mild flavor. I thought the spicier flavor was the better of the two. Its hard to find good wings in sb and I would definitely come back if I was craving some wings.Update:5->3.5star10/9/19Placed an online order for pickup since I have a 30min lunch. I arrived and checked in 5 minutes before the pickup time and the worker at the counter told me they didnt have an order for me, I showed them my online confirmation and they scrolled on their orders and finally found mine. I then had to wait an additional 25 minutes before my order came out. The worker that brought me my order told me they put some extra wings in my order and that I could pick a drink from the fridge free of charge but I didnt chose not to.The food was still good and I appreciate them trying to make up for their mistake but I wasnt even able to eat lunch because it took so long. I had placed the order online ahead of time because I knew wings would take longer to cook and I wanted it to be ready for pickup. I really love Daves Dogs but it will probably be a long time until I eat here since this experience left a negative impression.

Horchata comes in flavors and taste really good. The slushies are good and would make a great happy hour drink if mixed with alcohol. They have just about every type of hot dog and several different types of loaded fries and tots. We ordered for a 2 families and ended up with lots of good food and dont forget to try there fried Oreos!

Dave’s makes great hot dogs with unique flavor combinations. They have other items besides dogs, but their claim to fame rests on the wurst. We had the Western and the SB dogs and shared the loaded Tater Tots. The dogs were fun and flavorful with a high quality beef frankfurter. The tots had generous amounts of carne asada, pico de gallo, warm nacho cheese sauce, and avocado. I think a nice, acidic bite of tangy salsa, or even pickled jalapeños, would have made the tots so much better. We can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu.

I was driving back to LA from SF, decided on the scenic route (PCH) so a 6 hour trip turns into a 13 hour trip. By the time Santa Barbara comes into view, it already feels like Im home.I was looking for something delicious or at least different than a fast food joint, I found this little gem while loading gas for the last stretch of my trip.It didnt seem exciting, I mean hot dogs, but at least they closed late and the reviews were pretty good.Wow! This place will blow you away! Im not driving 100 miles just to eat there, but Ill definitely make a stop there if Im on the area or passing by!I ordered the Santa Barabara just to see what the locals like, it was so good I ordered a second one, El Niño!Both of them were delicious and surpassed my expectations.The restroom is inside the kitchen, you gotta exit the restaurant and then they open a back door to let you in.

We love the new location on Milpas, but happened to be on this side of town and stopped by for the first time. Ive tried most of the dogs on their menu but this time decided to try the chicken tacos.Next time Ill stick with the dogs. The ingredients were all good quality (just like everything on their menu), and the portions were generous, but the taste just wasnt there.I cant give them a bad grade this time though. The food was good, it just wasnt my thing this time. Service was friendly and everyone was observing COVID protocols.

DO NOT ORDER THE CHILI CHEESE FRIES. WAY OVERPRICED AND PRECIOUS LITTLE CHILI. They charge more for that dish than for either a burger or a dog, and it sucks. To add insult to injury, they do not post the price of that dish. Now I know why.Chili dog was excellent though.

I decided to try the Chicago dog and to my surprise it was okay I had high expectations and the long line outside the door set the bar even higher. Ive tried a real Chicago dog and I was hoping to have the same experience in Santa Barbara unfortunately it tasted nothing like a real deal. The problem was the bun it just was too thick and not the right type for this dog. My highlight was their chili cheese fries they were delicious and served enough for 2 people and that was surprising.

We were having 10 for casual dinner. We call Daves and had them make one of every dog on there menu(23 in all). They prepared them beautifully with several extra items as well. This is my 2nd time stopping here as I head home. The food is yummy. I love they offer different types of dogs (beef, chicken, veggie). Todays service was just as great as the first time. We were served by a young guy, patient with my Deaf husband as he wrote the order down on his phone to show the specifics we wanted. If you like hot dogs, you will love this place. If youve ever thought I should put this on a hot dog they probably have and then they named it too. Spicy? Savory? Sweet? Salty? You can find it all in a hot dog here. Dont forget about the sides though. Tater tots, onion rings, cheese curds, and more are all really good. In case you hadnt picked up on it, this is not your go-to place for health food. But the food they do serve is quite delicious, and consistently so, with pretty friendly service.

Burgers, fries, hot dogs, kids meals, cool side dishes, chicken strips, the menu items go on and on. Not to mention you pick the kind of dog whether regular hot dog, turkey dog, bratwurst, that list is also extensive. Prices were so cheap, too! 100% all beef burgers no fillers. Dave is always there greeting every customer with a smile and positive attitude. You can tell he is passionate about what he does and it shows in the hot dogs he has created. Those pizza fries are a cheesy event. The taco dog is quite good. They put the hot dog on a hoagie and loaded it up. The bread was tender, the toppings and dog filled up the inside and didnt leave much for wanting. I want to go back and try the Mac n cheese dog and the Santa Barbara dog. Just wish they were a little closer to me.

Dave himself works here and will meet and greet you if he is on the floor and not grilling. Always busy because the food is great, but never too long of a wait. I saw the reviews and I was excited! I love gourmet hotdog shops. I ordered the Santa Barbara Style with pastrami instead of bacon. They charged me two bucks extra for swapping then out. I also ordered a corn dog. I arrived to pick up before they called my name. I took food up to the car and begin to eat. The corn dog was tasty but definitely soggy. I took a bite out of my hot dog only to realize that there was no pastrami nor bacon. I went back inside and ask them to add some pastrami and throw some grilled jalapenos on it while they were at it. I told him to go ahead and leave the bacon on since I had paid $2 extra anyway. I also ordered some pizza fries as well at that time. I got my new order and went back to the car to eat. This time there was about two small strips of pastrami oh, definitely not my $2 worth. The pizza fries word decent but soggy as well. I just want to reiterate that Im literally parked outside of their door so I did not have to walk very far with my food. At that point, I did not want to go back in there with my mask and have to ask them to do anything else. This was a very frustrating experience considering they have such good reviews.

Oh my goodness I never knew hot dogs could have so many variations! I had the Santa Barbara style plus the El Nino and I still drool just thinking about them. They have this special cream sauce thats drizzled on a lot of their hotdogs and really takes flavor up a notch. And they have deep fried Oreos! So delicious. Be aware though that the shop is small and theres not much additional seating outside. Its busy during lunch time with students from the high school but you have the ability to order online, pay, and pick up in store. Highly recommend.

Just ate a Cal Expo Sac State Fair style meal; corn dog, onion rings, coke and it was screaming good. Arguably the best corn dog all-time with some top shelf rings. The batter is always the key in deep fried foods and it was No different here, however the dog had a very unique spiciness added to it. 2 dogs and a rack of rings ran me 15 and change; a bit spendy I thought initially. After inhaling the food I rethought the value and deemed it worthy of 15 COVID cash ducats. Especially now that I dont have to drive 300 miles to get a Sac State Fair corn dog one month a year and eat it amongst the aroma of cow patties and horse droppings.

I tried the Daves Dog special. It was pretty good fresh cut tomatoes and onions. The actual hot dog was just ok I like my dogs a Lil more charred or Qd. The sweet potatoe taters was Hella Bomb and warm. Horrible service. Food takes forever to be made, rude employees. And if you call ahead to order for pick up they won’t make your food until you get there and pay, this defeats the while point of ordering ahead to skip the line.Edit: after i left a complaint and a question as to why i cant order over the phone, have my food made, pay & pick up at the same time, management left a very rude and condescending answer to my comments. They basically asked why i feel entitled to “skipping the line” as in skip every body in line and get my food when i get there. I never asked to skip the line, what i wanted was my order to be made and ready for pay & pickup like at any other normal restaurant, as in after I pay, I WILL NOT have to wait around for another half hour for my order to be made. This is the last straw and I will personally never get food from this place again. Food is always made incorrectly, entire staff (employees and management) is VERY RUDE, not to mention it’s borderline expensive. I’d rather spend my $ somewhere else and get the treatment a paying customer deserve.Edit2: lol owner finally wants to sound reasonable on the platform everybody can see but answer so rude on the direct message that was sent to me. Nobody came in the store screaming, granted I was upset coming in the store to order as the employee were super rude to my boyfriend on the phone saying if he cant pay they aint gonna make the order, when all he wanted was to be able to pay in store. I came here because I heard there was a veggie burger here that very closely imitated a real beef hamburger. Intrigued, I visited. I like that theyre open late, and it seems like a popular spot for late night food. The person who took my order was really kind, and i am grateful that he took out the time to answer all of my questions. Because its so small, you dont truly want to spend your entire time in there. The veggie patty is an extra $2, so I wouldnt say it was worth it.

Just had lunch at Daves new Goleta location for mid-day dogs. Very friendly, local guy. Nice selection of flavor combos, including turkey and veggie dog options. Lunch special of 2 dogs, chips and a soda for $10 was well worth it. I had a Pizza Dog, but all the combos sounded good. Hes on the corner of Hollister and Magnolia in the Car Stereo Guys parking lot from 11-3 on M-F. Check it out!!!
