They made two beautiful and generous sushi platters for a party. Worked with me to select rolls for a picky crowd. I wish I’d taken pictures, but they got eaten too fast! The owners are always there working. It’s a small, local family-run place and they take care of you. I’m so happy they moved to the Lake Blvd location. Super convenient, don’t have to deal with finding parking downtown.

Great vegan and vegetarian options. The Al-green roll, Amazon roll, and Flaming Vegan roll were all good quality. Their agedashi tofu was also crispy on the outside and well seasoned. The workers were very friendly. Yes, it’s only take out right now, but this place deserves better than its lower reviews

Good substitute for another closed sushi-buffet in Davis. $14.95 for lunch per person. Pretty good quality and variety. Some food for raw fish haters))). Not bad for japanese cafe variety of desserts. A little bit crowdy and noisy on Saturday. Long wait for menus order, but was not dissappointed because we needed a time to eat other rolls.)))Visited them 2nd time for dinner. $18.95 per person. Came at 4.30pm just after opening. Few people inside, a lot of full boats, all just done. Much better!

Sad to say the sushi was not fresh or flavorful. The employee is doing her best all by herself but with out proper ownership this place is terrible. The owner needs to throw in the towel. No one should be left by themselves to run am entire restaurant. Sad really, she is a hard worker.

Keep in mind that this place is delivery/carry out only. you order and pay and they give you a wait time estimate. there are chairs and a TV to wait but I just walked around the plaza. the people working there are really polite and nice, and the food is delicious. the rolls they give are pretty big, good value for the price. my favorite thing on the menu is the combination roll. Ive ordered from here multiple times now and will continue to do so. :)

The service was ok but relatively slow. Some of the sushi are good, such as King roll and Lion King, but we feel the obvious difference between this place and other sushi buffet like Fuji sushi in Vacaville. Don’t expect too much of quality here, and if you sit on the “bar”, choose an “upstream” seat as you get to take the plates on boats before others take it.

Sushi and hot foods here is pretty damn good, especially for an all you can eat restaurant. Seems like a mom, pop and son operation so service time can be a little slow sometimes, albeit polite.Asides from a bar, there is a small hot foods buffet and a menu, where you can order food with the waiter (no additional cost).Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant, and I will be returning many times in the future!

The sushi is decent, cant say its great, but its not bad either. I went there when is was 107 degrees so maybe that made a difference in the sushi. But for the price you pay the quality of the fish is pretty good. They have a large variety of stuff that you can grab from the sushi boats or rolls made upon request.

This place is so cool! I usually fast for a day before coming in to eat for dinner because the food is so delicious and so filling, if you pay for a buffet, its already cheaper than paying for a couple of rolls at any other place that serves good sushi. The waiters are so nice and their service is amazing. My water glass was always full. I also love being able to watch the chefs behind the counter making the food to put on the boats that swim by the customers.

Its a decent place for a decent price. I dont know if my taste buds have refined or the good quality has gone down but this place doesnt taste as good or fresh as it did over the years. I leave feeling bloated and not really satisfied. Its still one of my favorite sushi joints though and Ill be returning. I recommend the poke salad for dinner, and the dragon rolls!

Have no idea how they have 4 stars. They are nice and cheap(2 star at best). I wouldnt call this place a sushi bar. They skip out on tuna, barely severed and super thin. Serve mainly cheap dishes. Which is probably why it is only $15 all you can eat, you get what you pay for. Just save your money for a place you can order all you can eat sushi. I read the place is clean. Is Clean relative? If your a clean clean person DONT come here.

It is the first time Ive been here, my sibling recommended this place and we came right as dinner started (4:30pm) and wow!!!The service was amazing, super nice people and very attentive. We sat at the bar and the sushi came to us by little boats! It was super cute, I love it. Im not an avid sushi eater, it is my second time eating sushi, but it was super delicious!They have a bathroom in the back, no gender neutral bathroom, just one for women and one for men.Definitely will come again :)Prices are really good, filled my tummy!

It’s cheap enough and they have some good dishes. But the service can be kind of hit or miss, there have been times where we asked the staff three times for something and they still didn’t bring it. The inside can sometimes be dirty and is pretty aged. The buffet sometimes seems more like a cafeteria than a restaurant. But, despite any gripes, this is still our favorite sushi place in Davis.

High quality sushi near Sac. I really liked the oysters and mussels that were included with the buffet. The ambiance is low key college appeal not particularly aesthetic. They seemed to intentionally not to send out certain items if you eat to much of something and put a lot of heavy sauces to manage costs, still overall pretty good sushi for the price.

Ive always come here for all you can eat sushi since the place opened up. The staff are very friendly and have a sense of urgency. The food is good and if you know what to order, then its definitely worth going to whether its for lunch or dinner. My family loves this place, and whenever we all come, they remember us and give us special attention which is nice to give that loyalty support business. Would definitely recommend to anyone to eat here if in the Davis area looking for sushi.

I came to this place for lunch with family. This was a new location. There was only one waiter who was doing super multitasking job (arranging the tables, taking care drinks, taking food orders, bringing food to the table, cleaning up the tables, ....). Hat off to the waiter but also felt sorry for him.Couples of reason I gave this place 2 stars:- Major shortage of staff. Therefore, ordered food were missing or really late delivered. And the tables dont get cleaned up until the end of the meal.- Some of the sashimi werent really fresh.- Some of the ordered dishes were moved to dinner only.- Very few selections from the boat.

The customers that do not sit at the boat bar must walk up to the ends of the boat bar to select sushi that is available. They also have the option of ordering from a menu, and thats where the additional waitstaff would be helpful.

This buffet deserves three stars for three reasons, first it is not very clean, there is a strange smell luring around the restaurant, like wet carpet. Two, based on there dinner pricing, the food is way below quality, its more of a quantity deal. Third, if you dont mind having an upset stomach for the rest of the evening and for about two more days ( thats how long it took me) then by all means, try this place out. Fuji sushi was of greater quality, to bad they had to relocate for unknown, at least to me, reasons.

I would rate the food itself as 3 stars. There are certain rolls that were good but not a lot. I didnt have as much variety as I would like. Not many desserts. I didnt see any Korean ribs on the boat like pictures (at least for Thanksgiving lunch, which I paid dinner price for). I did try most of the rolls and nothing made me go nuts and want more of...1 extra star is for the extremely friendly and attentive staff and being opened on Thanksgiving lunch to satisfy my craving.

Delicious sushi! They have so much food other than sushi though, like noodles, rice, BBQ pork buns, tofu, dumplings, and sweet red bean buns. Great variety of food there! The only thing is that it is a bit pricey (coming from a college student) but its because its buffet style. I would only come here every once in a while due to the price. But other than that, I highly recommend!

First off it is a sushi buffet, so dont expect the FRESHEST and BEST quality fish ever. I mean you get what you pay for right. I enjoy the food there. Large selection. Quick to refill the table with more sushi rolls. Their selection of sashimi is good. Tempura shrimp and fried soft shell crab and oysters are delicious. But hands down my favorite dish is the Salmon Kama head. It is baked just right, little crispy on the edges but still juicy in the center. I want some now!

Davis Sushi Buffet was a good spot to eat sushi. Recently, I would say about 5-6 months ago, the cleanliness has gone out the window. The stools are all ripped and dirty, the carpet smells and although the guys doing to serves is nice, he cant be expected to clean, take orders, greet guest all alone. The owners of Davis Sushi Buffet have good sushi but need to invest money in hiring another server, replace furniture and please clean! I use to bring my parents here but no longer, I would feel embarrassed to bring anyone here to eat.Unfortunately, I know Davis Sushi buffet will not change its path unless we all stop spending our money there. Please do not eat here, not only is it disgusting to eat sushi in a rancid smelling restaurant, but imagine the kitchen that we, the public, dont see. If you do the buffet its basically five very similar versions of the same roll that just repeat over and over... I would not say terrible but not great... Good may be even a little generous. They have other items they throw on the boats but nothing expensive or amazing.The other side of the buffet has chicken, spring rolls, potstickers and some other stuff. Micro cookies and a pepto flavored mouse ??? cup.... That side was nothing to write home about even if your postage is free.PARKING... Not the fault of the buffet but its like trying to find a spot in San Francisco... TERRIBLE! And our visit was on a weeknight moments after 5 PM.You can get sushi just as good or even better with more variety from Winco or Bel Air... Save the $19.95 a person for all you can eat and put that on something you have a say in for what is included.Staff was nice and sevice for drinks was fine - but thats hard to fail at when the customer gets their own food off a micro floating armada in an indoor moat.

The price is decent for all you can eat but you certainly get what you pay for and you need to be willing to eat very mediocre sushi. Also; the nigiri was quite rare on the buffet and most everyone there was eating nigiri so you had you had to wait a long time for it to come around. The sushi buffet was primarily tons of edamame and fried rolls (the cheaper food items) without a whole lot of diversity. The hot bar was also just mediocre along with the service. I personally would rather pay more to get a higher quality meal of exactly what I want.

I almost gave it 0 stars cause I walked out stuffed lol but then I realized Id just be judging my own diet lol instead of the restaurant. Sushi Davis buffet was alright, mixed results on quality.The unagi in its variations we tried were all good. Shrimp tempura decent, honey cashew shrimp tasty. Some items were already prepared, taken off the floating boats, or request on order from the list. Fresh cut watermelon was nice.The fried calamari was terribly overcooked and tasted rubbery. Some of their buns (custard, taro) were both unrewarding. Cream puff dough tasted old, filling was fake whipped filling wasnt real whipped cream, also a disappointing.

Hi all! Just a suggestion, I ordered online through GrubHub but apparently they didn’t receive it. They said to order from EAT24 instead, even though it’s also powered by GrubHub. This is a heads up so that you don’t show up to the restaurant to find out that your order didn’t go through. Came here for dinner. Sat at the boat bar. Horrible selection. Sauce gets loaded on all rolls. Sriracha, mayonnaise and the orange sauce that is a bit spicy with a ratio of 1:4 ish (sauce to roll) Way too much sauce. That gets on every roll at the boats. All they really had too was California rolls with a variation on the top, shrimp, eel and avocado. The other was shrimp tempura, again with the variation on top. No nigiri pieces. Rolls were also all made wrong. Pieces could falls apart any moment. The seaweed wrap made a “U”. The fillings could fall out through that opening. They also had like 4 dim sum selections. So that’s a bit odd.
