I loved this family owned great little Mexican restaurant. The food was delicious 😋 the service was awesome and the atmosphere was great. If youre ever in Santa Cruz and youre craving for some good Mexican 🌮🌯 food, this is the place. I had the chimichanga, and it was amazing. Highly recommend it 👍👍

Authentic, beautiful, family run taqueria. Loved our smothered burrito and chimi! Al Pastor was great. Grandparents cooking for you in the kitchen. Quiet little oasis in the middle of Santa Cruz. Nothing really spicy but everything really tasty.

A new favorite that a friend introduced me to recently. Solid Mexican food and very friendly staff. Place can be hopping at lunch time, and for good reason. The food is great! Not a huge menu, which is good, has vegan, veggie, and carnivore options. Has great salsa as well.

A great taqueria with fresh made delicious Mexican food. We had the vegan burritos filled with beans, cabbage and avocado. The salsa is very tasty and in the hotter side. I prefer the red over the green. The chips are crispy and not greasy like a lot of taquerias. They have a nice selection of beverages including Mexican Coke. This is not your regular neighborhood taqueria. Its like going to your best friends moms house whose real nice but then you discover she is a knock out cook. The place is clean, they are warm and friendly and the kitchen puts out some delicious Mexican food from tacos to enchiladas to burritos and a few things in between. All satisfying to the taste buds Id recommend this place to anyone. Its definitely been a well-kept secret.

I had the chimichanga with shredded chicken and no cheese or sour cream. The bread was soft, the shredded chicken and beans inside were nice, and the avocado was a good taste variation. I loved how soft the wrap was. It wasn’t amazing though. It came with sauce, which was just an okay sauce. I think if they want it to be amazing they need an amazing sauce or other seasoning, maybe a homemade sauce, an avocado based sauce, something like that.I also had the pork (carnitas) taco and the carnitas was a little tastier than chicken. I liked how it also came with whole beans, which are healthier than refried.

First I would like to say I grew up on Hispanic foods and I can attest that I make a pretty great variety of tacos and salsas. Ok, if you know Mexican food American style, then this is not even good in that standard. Doesnt even come close to authentic Mexican food. First, do not order a super burrito because you will scream, wheres the BEEF, or MEAT. There was little to no meat on both super burritos ordered. And 1 had little to no sour cream and the other had none. Its says it comes with cilantro and it does, a tiny tiny tiny sprinkle. Oh but you get lots of rice and beans! So I cant comment on the carnitas since there wasnt enough to taste. The tacos were the same. We ordered 3 different tacos to check out the meats and chicken. But how could we do that with little to no meat on them. Mostly beans and a nice amount of lettuce and like the meat, Where is the CHEESE??????? So, food wise from the menu is not good if your taste buds are a hankering for some tasty Hispanic food. I will say the chips were great, but the salsa was lacking. You might as well go to Taco Bell, yuck. So for all of you who put recent reviews saying this is a great taqueria you need to check your taste buds and stop paying the price for mediocre food and go where the price is the same and the food is better. Like the food trucks in the area. P.S. the chairs are horrible for all ages, my kids even complained they hurt.

Great food, I recommend the chimichangas and crispy tacos, husband said quesadilla was meh, and Ive tried their soft tacos before and they were meh. This tastes like texmex a bit because of the loaded iceberg lettuce+tomato chunks+sour cream, very fresh. The meat and cheese was not as greasy as I usually like lol, but maybe you prefer this! Chips were great, the cashier was kind. ~$45 shown, two chimis, a quesadilla, and crispy taco.

If you know then you know and if you dont then you should go find out. Pastor and their salsa is all you need to concern yourself with. The delivery system isnt as important. Taco, burrito, enchiladas, and quesadilla all work well. Not in the best part of town and chairs could be more comfortable.

We are locals and eat here frequently. Their food is excellent and chips and salsa amazing (although hot!). The staff is always super nice. Their chicken is a bit oily so if you don’t like that I would recommend one of the other meats. Their al pastor is very good.

Pretty dang good. Fairly quick service.. reasonable prices too. you walk up to the counter, order, sit down and wait for your food. We had the super burrito (chili verde, which is beef not pork) and nachos (carnitas). Both were good. Burrito probably the best. Slightly spicy. I also ordered a fish taco. Not the best. Small fish chunks and too much sauce, sort of killed the fish flavor. All in all quite good second time Ive been here (from outta town) Def would come back.

Most of the food had the same 3 ingredients, just different names. Chimichanga had meat, cheese and beans. Burrito has chicken, cheese and beans. Nachos were slightly better but still just decent. Easily could have saved money and made them at home. Food for 4 people was a little over 50 dollars. Fantastic taqueria with freshly made flavorful food that doesnt take too long to wait for.The chimichangas are big and the fried tortilla has a nice aroma to it on the outside. The carne asada is delicious, as well as the carnitas tacos.Perhaps the biggest surprise delight of all was the Chile Verde quesadilla. I was expecting a ground beef style meat with some chiles dotted throughout, but instead, the Chile Verde is cubes of beef that seem to be stewed in some kind of chile. Its a welcome one though, as the beef is tender yet still have a beefy quality to it (due to the coarse cube shape rather than a fine grind).Overall, its homely feeling place to enjoy simple Mexican favorites done well, with really courteous service.

I was in Santa Cruz for a meeting and my co-worker suggested we go across the street and grab some tacos and burritos before the meeting started. What impressed me was the sizes of the tacos and burrito in regards to the price. Very reasonable. The quality of the food, the quickness in receiving our food and an owner who was very accommodating and attentive. What I appreciated was his attention to detail. He offered me a larger glass for my water and would periodically stop by and asked if we needed anything else and was always providing excellent service.The food was very good with outstanding quality. We drove from SF to visit Santa Cruz and came across this restaurant. Lovely corner shop with excellent food and great service. Looks like a great family team in the kitchen. My wife says the crispy vegetarian tacos were the best shes ever had. My delicious beef burrito was so huge, I couldnt finish it. Great place and not far from the Boardwalk.

I have been coming to this restaurant since before when they were across the street from the boardwalk, and I am glad they moved. I had the cheese enchiladas with beans and rice; all taste homemade! Very delicious!!! Small seating area, you order at the counter and they bring to your table. Their house Chile salsa was really good, garlicky, roasted, chipotle and maybe tomatillos, whatever they use it was so good, not really to spicy but I really like hot food, so for some Im sure it is hot. Prices are very fair, my plate was a little more than $8. We will definitely be back! Only 4 stars because it just lacked a wow factor, nothing was wrong. De la Hacienda is a wonderful long-time local Santa Cruz business serving some of the best asada, chile verde, al pastor, and pollo in town. Generous portions. Quick, spotless, and always friendly. De La Hacienda had absolutely the greatest taco that my wife and I have ever had! The fish taco came with practically a WHOLE avocado on it! The ingrediants were very fresh, and the staff was extremely friendly and accomodating. For a very low price, we had a lunch that we will never forget; a perfect compliment to our beautiful time in Santa Cruz. We will definitely be back!
