I havent gone to a HK styled cafe in a while, and DFC didnt fail my expectations! The 干炒牛河 was amazing, and so was the 港式咖啡! (Im so americanized lol, I can barely hold a conversation in canto)The point is, the food tasted great, and it was an excellent meal. Super cheap 👍

This joint is similar to one of those Hong Kong style cafes in the area. We came at 5:30pm on a Friday and were promptly seated, the place was half filled. There was a good flow of patrons. The service was quick and friendly; the food was good, though on the salty side.

The Chinese name of the restaurant translates to Original Flavor, which speaks to its authentic Cantoneses dishes. It’s a cozy casual place with home style comfy food. Congee and steamed rice flour rolls seem to be popular for weekend brunch. Don’t come if you expect a high-end restaurant.

Phone order for clams and black bean sauce which I was craving. Order was efficient, just not the friendliest on the call or pick up. Anyway, food was packed well and tasted pretty good, which is the most important part of it all. Definitely happy I tried it and will be back, just probably won’t eat inside, which if fine by me.Parking was a little tough on this day and maybe the case after 5pm. Seems like a very busy shopping center.

What makes a HK cafe unique? HK style milk tea is absolutely the number one. I like the taste and texture of their milk tea, the best I have ever had during 6 years since I moved to LA. You can ask for refills!We had breakfast combo including HK Style bun with butter, steamed flour roll with dry shrimps (highly recommend the sesame sauce on the side), and pork and preserved egg congee.The price is unbeatable for the quality in today’s market. Love this place!

Decor is typical of a small restaurant. Friendly service. From a party of 5, the walnut shrimp won the best vote, followed by the pork fried noodle. House special fillet mignon cubes are tender and tasty. Fried wings are well done.Not recommended is the black cod. It was stale and had a fishy taste. There were generous mushrooms with the egg tofu, but the tofu was inconsistent in quality and small in quantity.

This cash only Hong Kong Diner Style restaurant is not easy to spot inside Garfield Plaza. It is a few stores left of Ravello Osteria which is a pretty popular place. The menu is eclectic Hong Kong dishes such as various fried noodles, soup noodles, thick toast bread covered in condensed milk, curry rices, hot pot casseroles, and HK style western dishes such as steaks and chops. Service staff are Cantonese speaking folks and the quick and easy service you see in HK as well. Taste and feel was authentic HK.

My favorite Cantonese porridge spot in LA. Their breakfast specials are the best! Milk tea is not to be missed. But today the five star goes to this yummy Singaporean fried vermicelli. Full of special curry flavors yet minimally spicy. Noodles were pan fried dry, no lumps, evenly flavored! The best Singaporean noodles I’ve had in a long time.There has been recent ownership change but so far the quality hasn’t changed. Let’s hope it keep that way. My opinion of this restaurant is for this specific location only. It does not apply to their other newer branches. (Fun fact: Singaporean style pan fried noodles is a classic dish originated in HK. Not from Singapore :))

One of the better HONG Kong cafes in the San Gabriel valley. Ordered the rib eye with pasta. Flavors were delicious, portions fantastic, and prices reasonable. Parking is difficult in this small little plaza. Restaurant was busy and packed, a testament to their food. Would recommend.

Love this place for legit Hong Kong style breakfast. I like the rice macaroni with pork chop. The rice porridge is also excellent, particularly the texture. I usually get a hot lemon tea or milk tea to go with my food. Try to go during off hours to avoid long waits. There is a parking lot though it can fill up fast. Street parking is good though.

I have been coming to this place since 10 years ago. I always love their food as they make very good Hong Kong style cafe food. I often came here for a meal when I am home sick. One big improvement I have been noticed was the services. Ever since the ownership was changed the quality of service the service made a drastic improvement. Staff was friendly and attentive. I did not support this place because I often felt being disrespected, but I decided that I will come here more often because my negative feelings is gone and food was awesome!I always ordered: coffee with tea, dry vegetables and pork bone porridge, pineapple bun with butter, and Chinese donut with rice noodle roll. These are the most authentic Hong Kong style cafe food!

I was surprised there were not as many famous congee places in LA. This restaurant did not disappoint as their congee was delicious. It also came with a side of noodles. So yummy! So glad my boyfriend opted for this over the Italian spot, everything we ordered was comfort food at its tastiest. We probably wouldnt get the curry or the fried squid/wings again, but the congee was so good even as leftovers. We also really liked the pineapple buns and the servers are so attentive and quick at keeping the free refills coming. Definitely feels like a team effort from all the staff members to keep the restaurant going and that vibe is easy to pick up on. It helped to make our Friday night date a wonderful time!

Good Hong Kong style cafe food!Ive been coming here since this has opened and I love it for the type of food served here and the location. Most dishes are excellent but some can be a little too salty for my taste. Service here is great for a Chinese cafe. Parking can be a bit of a nightmare and tight since the owner of the plaza allows people to park parallel to the sidewalk, which makes it difficult to pull out from the regular spaces.Reliable, fast, and overall good Hong Kong style food!

Pro tip: If dining as a pair, maybe order a dish a person and a side. Its plenty of food.Husband and I ordered way too much food, but we werent complaining. Food was really good. Service was mediocre. They forgot about one of our dishes and gave us the receipt before it came out. Husband also asked for HK coffee (they brought out a regular) then a refill that never came. We tried to cancel the order that didnt come. They said ok, then said they couldnt cancel it because it was already being made. Still good food though and it was extremely busy in there, so maybe thats why the service was lacking.Wish we spoke Cantonese. That might have helped! With their more limited hours, they can get swamped in the morning. Food can easily take 35 minutes on some days. We were satisfied with the items we ordered except we got pretty stale pineapple buns. We can understand they wont get deliveries everyday anymore, but these were very hard. By far the best HK style Cafe Ive been to in the USBest 菠萝油 (pineapple cluster bun with butter) in the US. Very similar to the ones in HK. Although these ones are much smaller. My fiancé and I came here for the first time and will be coming back. The reviews are no joke - portion sizes are quite filling (enough for 2 people)! We ordered the shrimp hai churn (rice rolls), beef curry with rice (so much beef!!) and ham, egg, beef corned sandwich. We had beef curry leftover - enough to eat later for lunch for both of us.Glad this place exists. We needed a good food place near us. Something similar to this place is Garden Cafe, but their service is not as good as this place.

What really stands out to me about this place is the generous portions they give for each dish or bowl! Im a big guy who eats a lot.I would say one order of noodles would make me satisfied. Always come here for lunch with my friends here, and the service is fast and friendly. At the weekend, except to wait a little longer. Food quality here is pretty good especially baked food, congee, and lemon ice tea etc. Parking can be tough here (not a lot parking and street parking) but people can park at the last two line of dollar tree store. Good food, inexpensive, and a huge selection of chinese porridge, noodles and hot pot dishes. My favorite is the fish paste in soup with thin noodles and fish fillet sauted with fresh chinese greens.The only downside is you may have to wait at least half an hour + to get a table. One of our favorite breakfast places in WSG Valley. Reminds us of our favorite Asian Family Vacation Destination, Hong Kong. We go here for breakfast because their noodles and congee just hit the spot in warming our insides up specially during winter. Plus the smell, the ambiance and the authentic food really takes us back to SE Asia. We normally order congee (+ rice paper roll) and another breakfast selection. This time we tried the spam with egg over (instant) noodle soup.We love all of their congee selection. The flour roll, this dried shrimp version comes with peanut sauce and another one which is like hoisin. It looks weird but it blends well and tastes good. Try it.The only reason why I held back to the extra star is because they only accept cash as form of payment.

The SGV is truly a wonderland for different genres of Asian restaurants. Delicious Food Corner is a Hong Kong diner type cuisine. Utter lack of the finer points service are a point of pride, like you would get from Flo at a local diner. They arent going to answer your dumb questions with a smile. We fed 6 adults handsomely for 80 bucks, so go nuts and try it all.
