Stopped here during a business trip. What an amazing place. Everything was crafted with excellence. The main dish was unique and fantastic. Dessert was the same. Service was the best weve experienced too. Nothing will disappoint here.

I had a wonderful time. I made reservations online which was easy to do. I arrived right when they opened up so there was no wait. Very well put together seating arrangements. Nice ambiance with the lighting. Variety of items (seafood heavy) on the menu. Not many pasta choices though.

Candie was our server months ago and now we ask for her every time!!! Shes the BEST!!!The menu and the food is always beyond delicious and interesting!!! Michael the owner is always present to make sure everything is perfection!In my opinion the added bonus about this restaurant is the Art Deco design inside. My favorite!!!

I planned a Memorial event for my mom at the Depot in Torrance and I cant say enough about how wonderful and accommodating they were throughout the entire process, which made it easier on me to wrangle while also mourning the loss. From the first time I called Chef Michael to inquire about possibly hosting an event he was incredibly kind, empathetic and straightforward on how to arrange for an event. On the day of the event, the Kimono room was set up and clean, and when we had several unexpected guests, the staff quickly set up an extra table for them and were incredibly kind with impeccable service. The meal was family-style with a variety of things so people could pick and choose what they wanted. I didnt get to eat much of my meal as I was up and down trying to coordinate people, but I did enjoy a delicious croissant type of roll and the pumpkin or squash soup which I thought was delicious.Asit relates to events, they have easels you can use, and microphones for speaking, and the cost to host the event is solely for the food and beverage, there is no cost for the room and you have your own private space for an extended period of time. The chef also came around and spoke to guests during the luncheon which made it feel really special.I also want to call out Brett who was our main host and led the servers during the lunch who was personable, kind, patient, funny and really made the luncheon special.I appreciate the Depot and all they did to support us at this time and would 100% consider hosting another event there in the future (hopefully something unrelated to the loss of a family member.)

Good environment for a special occasion. Food is delicious with very generous portion sizes. The sea food and meat options were delicious. Expect to spend a few pretty pennies however. Service is as you would expect and friendly. Theres complimentary valet however there is free general parking across the street.

Great place to dine in. Our server was very nice and the food was amazing. We ordered a few things, all great, especially the Red Curry bowl. The service was quick as well. We ordered about 12 different things and it was out quick, which was amazing. Definitely recommend this place!!

I had a wonderful meal at The Depot. I was attending a business meeting with 20 people and the private space they gave us was perfect. The service was fast and professional. The restaurant has an Italian theme but they offer a great choice of steaks. I had the Thai Chicken which seemed odd on the menu but it was listed number one on their specialty list. It was really good and a very generous potion. All meals in our group looked great with many compliments.

The ambiance was great and I really wanted to like this restaurant but overall felt that the food was overpriced and wasn’t worth coming back for.My husband and I had a reservation but noticed it was pretty much empty, which seemed odd but we disregarded it anyway. We got a huge bread basket with some banana bread (which was a plus) but it went south from there.Our cocktails didn’t have any flavor and tasted like straight shots or medicine so we didn’t even finish our drinks. I’m okay with strong cocktails but these did not even taste like cocktails one bit. I *think* the person making the drinks was also a server so maybe bartending was not their specialty.The food was overpriced. I ordered the $26 vegetarian plate w. “Samosas” and lentils. While my plate was large, the grilled veggies didn’t have any flavor at alI. I could’ve thrown some veggies on the grill at home and had it taste better. Unfortunately, the plate portions weren’t at least balanced so the tasteless veggies were about 90% of the plate.My husband ordered a mahi dish that was on the daily specials and he felt his plate was overpriced too.They seemed to have good desserts from what we saw but we were so bummed out by the actual dinner and drinks that we decided to hold off on dessert.Wouldn’t recommend.

The mac and cheese with chicken is the BEST. The tuna poke appetizer is a favorite, too. Love the zucchini bread in the bread basket. The food is unwaveringly good year after year. The staff are kind and the squad has been together for many years--a good sign. Im always a little start-struck when Chef comes around--he is caring and approachable. I hope to do a cooking class soon. Favorite restaurant in LA.

We invited our friends for a dinner in Depot, everything was average except the price. I had Filet and my steak was bit burnt, and my partners Big cat mix was nothing better than average. My friends didnt finish their plates. The price was high as I expected, but I also expected better food, service and experience. They didnt match, it is a pity.Some asked if they have Thanksgiving dinner, I didnt see it. Only a hand-written X-mas menu on the list.

Great spot in Olde Torrance! Food is super (psst: try the sand dabs!) And they are always super nice, even the big scary Chef/Owner. Everytime I eat at The Depot I order a new dish to try and let me tell you….worth every penny. All the food has been nothing but amazing. So fresh. Prepared very well and seasoned just right. The customer service is 5 star from the host, bartender and servers. Brett helped me out today and he was a pleasure to talk too. Love this place

My wife and I were in Torrance and wanted to grab a bite. I wanted to eat something healthy and quick but my wife felt like a sit down and get served restaurant so we tried The Depot. Friendly staff. Professional. Nice atmosphere, it used to be a train station and the train still passes right outside in the afternoon. Cool spot, clean.We started with the Beets with Goats cheese and it was delicious if you like that kinda stuff. It had two types of beets it really was delicious and their version on a Wedge salad was nothing short of terrific. The Ribeye was okay.The Chipotle Corn Mashed Potatoes were not to my liking (dry and lumpy).My wife had the Fruit cup cocktail, I took a sip, it was fruit cocktail in the bottom of the martini glass with rubbing alcohol poured over the top.Not a 5☆ outing but as always the best part of dinner was the company! The restaurant is classy but has a relaxed and friendly ambience which I really appreciate. Chef Michael has been creating exceptional cuisine and consistently for many years which makes this place very special. Wow, I didnt know what to expect, but perfection wasnt on my radar. Cute interior, like a really nice living room with tables. Menu has a lot of variety, and Im down to try it all. Enjoyed the Rock Shrimp Sausages. Theyre creative, and that twice-baked garlic sauce rocks. Grilled Scallops are freshly seared, and the Ahi Tuna entree is awesome. Ive never had a tuna steak taste this good, and the bed of beets is my favorite side. My Chilean Sea Bass has to be the best thing on the menu because I cant imagine anything beating this. Each bite is buttery and supple, and the snow peas are drenched in the fish juices. The desserts are classics with a twist, and theyll never get old. The Lemon Tart Brulee with orange sauce is a great citrus combo, and the BEST Banana Cream Pie lives up to its name.

This review was for a banquet dinner. They have multiple medium sized banquet rooms. Each room comes with a cash bar and a fixed menu. The room was comfortable and the food was good. Great creative food. The service is excellent and well timed. I took relatives here and they loved it. Excellent food. A good wine selection. The Field Greens Salad is great, with goat cheese and a fine dressing. Their Filet Mignon and Lamb Chops are perfection. The owner is present. If you doubt it, check out the pictures and caricatures on the walls - then find that guy wearing a black shirt. The sliders are delightful and the egg rolls are not. If youve the opportunity to check out the cheese selection, do, as theres good stuff there. The bar is a bit pricey. There are faux columns that take up a bit of space in the dining room for no obvious reason. Parking is easy and the staff is pleasant.

The Depot in Torrance is my goto place for lunch meetings. The food is always perfect, the staff is always happy, and ready to get the job done. The ambience is just elegant enough, and just business enough, to make an impression. We planed to have fine dining dinner for the weekend, after searching online, relying on review I chose this restaurant, We were very disappointed with the food, the steak we ordered tasted awful, the sauce is horrible, other dishes we ordered are full of mash potato, they put only one piece of chicken and full of mash potato, it seems this restaurant can make only mash potato, the food are very pricy, it is waste of money to eat in this restaurant,I don’t know why other people gave 4+ star, it’s misleading, I am writing the honest review, if you have choice never done in this place.

Came here expecting your typical contemporary american flare and was surprised to see on the menu a japanese style hotpot with dipping sauce. I dismissed it pretty quickly thinking this is not a specialty of the restaurant, but given the thumbs up by the waitress and thinking i should settle for something lighter, I ended up getting swayed to get a seafood hotpot.While waiting for your food you get a basket of breads which was top notch. You get a combination of banana bread, a large crispy flat cracker, and what appears to be dinner rolls. I didnt try the dinner rolls, but everything else was solid.When the hotpot dish came out, it had a large combination of things. Shrimp, salmon, sea bass (??), scallop, two types of mushrooms, and bok choy all in a veggie broth. You also get 3 types of dips, which I cant recall what they were, and a bowl of rice with shredded nori. Everything was great! The dip went very well to compliment the simple seafood hotpot!Since Ive only had this dish, this is the only thing I can recommend, but Ill definitely come back again.
