Great atmosphere and service.Portions are huge and delicious. The Brie salad is super tasty and the Bison Burger is a must.All the staff is super kind and always ensuring their guests have a good experience.The terrace is very nice and quiet during the night.I am traveling all over Americas and Europe. This was my first time here. I liked the style in the restaurant. It was very laid-back. I went with the bison, burger and salad.There is a spot to sit outside next to the restaurant, but tables are limited. Next time I would like to be able to sit out there however, there is plenty of seating inside the portion sizes are really big and you don’t get cheated on your burger.

Best burgers in Sonora! Ordered the diamond back burger and it was cooked to order perfectly. Added grilled onions for that delicious taste. The garlic fries are amazing here as they add a ton of fresh garlic on top. Service was good but could have been better on the drink refills. Nice cozy restaurant along the main street area. Street parking out front.

The restaurant inside looks great! It’s cozy and very warm and inviting. I ordered the steak.. for 40$ it comes with two sides.Honestly, the steak tasted rancid and had a putrid taste.. I got it medium rare but it was disgusting. I ate half of it and with all the meal including tip paid 65$ I wouldn’t ever come back to order a steak again. This was on Veterans Day weekend 2023, and the free 6oz at AppleBees for veterans was 10x better than this.I’m not sure I would go back..

We were seated immediately and enjoyed our food. (There is usually a wait.) The burgers are cooked to your liking. You can half the fries with salad. The buttermilk salad dressing is very yummy! Son got Asian ribs with sweet potato fries and the rib meat just fell from the bones. Daughters grilled cheese bacon sandwich was stacked with thick cut bacon. An enjoyable evening.

This is a great place for families. Though they dont have a kids menu, almost everything on the menu is kid-friendly or can be modified as such. I enjoyed the honey-grilled peach salad with chicken. Everyone else had burgers.Some things to consider: Street parking is tough to find. Be prepared to walk a bit. Also, the restaurant has a single unisex restroom, which doesnt seem sufficient for their capacity. Be prepared to wait in line during busy times.

Sadly, this is the worst review I have ever done. I walked in to order some food, while my family waited outside. The server walked up to the counter and told me to wait for then she walked away. I waited and waited and all she was doing was hanging out talking to one of the other waitresses. I then decided to be cheeky, and call in my order from the front desk, yes my phone was in my hand. As I knew she would see me (I was trying to make a point) The server put me on hold and proceeded to tell one of the other servers. So I walked out. If I’m standing at the front counter ready to order food, knowing exactly what I want why would she tell me to wait and then walk away?? To only linger and chat with other servers? Not worth my time. It was rude. Worst service I’ve ever received in any establishment.

Growing up in Asia & as a spicy lover, I often find myself adding some heat to compensate the flavor in many American restaurants. For me, flavorful dish is everything. The burger at Diamondbacks grill is so tasty I dont need to add any additional sauce/heat — I simply forgot about it. I ordered their classic burger with medium-well patty. I enjoyed every single bite (I got rid of the pickle though).

Diamondback has really good food. Their garlic fries and sweet potato fries are delicious. Their grilled teriyaki chicken is so good and their house dressing is amazing! Seating can be tricky because they are hopping. Parking is downtown, so that can also be complicated.

I enjoyed the cheeseburger, it was one of the best that ever had. The thing that stood out to me was that the burger was seasoned to the right level. It wasnt too salty or without flavor but just right. The service was also very good. If Im ever in Sonora again Ill want to return.

I cant tell you about most of the menu here, because I always get the same thing because its so good: a mushroom Swiss burger with grilled onions. I usually get one of the upgraded sides. Onion rings are amazing, sweet potato fries are great and garlic fries are wonderful. Its no more expensive than any other sit down joint in the area.

Wonderful restaurant and bar in the middle of downtown Sonora. The food and service will not disappoint! I ordered an eggplant, mozzarella, tomato, pesto sandwich served on rosemary foccacia bread, and the eggplant was grilled to perfection! Absolute perfection! There is an old fashioned sturdy, wood bar to sit as well that adds to the vintage ambience inside.

Went on a mother-daughter hunt for the best burger 🍔 and I think we found one to add to our list. My burger looked so good I couldnt wait for after the photo to take a bite 😊. Took a stroll in down town Sonora, after farmers market was wrapping was looking for a place to get lunch and came across this place. Stood in front of the door few mins before opening and they let me inside! hella places in valley literally wont open till the exact time so that was nice. Got the garlic fries as appetizer and they were fantastic. The waitresses were very nice. My wife got the grilled cheese sandwich and man it was one of the best id ever had! will def make a stop here again.

The atmosphere was mellow and the staff was professional. To be honest, being a minority visiting a small town can sometimes feel uncomfortable, however, all I felt here was welcomed and I will definitely come back. My colleagues teased me for ordering a salad, until my plate arrived. It was a mammoth serving of delicious pork, beans that could be considered chili, and all the fixins.. my taste buds were tingling for sure. Im glad I came in hungry! I went with my partner yesterday to have dinner, this place came highly recommended and had great reviews. My partner ordered a bison burger and I ordered the braised pork tostada salad. We also ordered a half order of garlic fries. We only had water, so between those three items the bill was about 50$. Pricey, but that wouldve been fine if the food was good.It was okay, very okay.The fries were okay: the garlic was fresh and the fries were good. There wasnt as much garlic as I am used to, so I would ask for more garlic if I were to ever go again.The burger, which we both tried: was okay. It wasnt spectacular, but it was good. I would expect more for 20$. I wished the patty was more flavorful among other things.The braised pork tostada salad made absolutely no sense. They took a tostada, covered it in a side salad, and put the cheese and tomatoes they wouldve put on the tostada on top of the side salad. It was not a blended, tossed together salad where elements of the tostada intermingled with a salad to create something exciting. All the salad did was prevent the cheese topping from melting onto the tostada. Neither added anything to each other: the salad was coated in basic dressing. The tostada deserved its own plate. Also, there wasnt much of the fresh salsa they advertise on the menu in the dish. It was disappointing.Very average food at above average prices. Dont order the tostada salad.Our server was lovely, they have no say in what they serve. The restaurant itself was nice, shabby chic. It looks like it used to have a bar, but now all they serve is beer and wine.

Best place to eat in Sonora! Amazing food paired with the perfect drink. Rustic environment perfect for a quick bite. We order the marinated chicken salad with mustard vinaigrette and bacon cheeseburger with garlic fries. I was served a rancid burger with a side of attitude! I ordered almost $100 in food to go for a mothers day picnic. Once at the park and we all started eating I bit into an awful tasting turkey burger. It even smelled off. I ate a few fries and enjoyed the conversation at the family gathering. Afterwards, I returned to dimondback grill and politely request a refund after explaining my displeasure with the meal and showing her that literally one bite had been taken. The person that I assumed was the hostess offered no apology and showed no concern for the fact that you could smell the rancid odor from inside the box. I was simply told that they dont give refunds. Now, Im sure I wouldnt have been charged if I sent it back while dining in the restaurant, so this policy makes no sense in my opinion. In addition, the manager had an extremely bad attitude and refused to give me a gift certificate or anything IN WRITING indicating that I had credit for a future visit after verbally offering credit towards a future visit.So...tomorrow I have a few hours to spare and Im going to make some signs to protest outside the restaurant while dressed as Sasquatch. I plan to inform the public of their Rancid w/o Refund policy.I tried being nice. The owners did nothing to remedy the situation after the manager stated that she had called them to ask their advice. I was treated rudly when I expressed my dissatisfaction toward the end of the interaction so I decided to record a small portion of the lack of customer service. She seems like the type to make up a story to cover her lack of management skills and poor customer care.Ive been a customer of this restaurant for over 10 years and I understand that mistakes happen. A representative of the business had the the opportunity to make this right and she chose to act like a child..

I have been here many times and the food is consistently good. I have had the grilled salmon and the burger and they were tasty.Recently we held my Mom’s 80th birthday party in the side bar room. It’s a narrow room but the staff made it work well serving 25 people. The wait staff is very polite and never any attitude and always ready to help.

Its funny. Im looking at the reviews, and everyone gives this place a great ratng, but from my wifes and I experience, lets start with the atmosphere it was fantastic. The service was great. Where it fell short was the food, unfortunately it was bland for some reason lacked seasoning and the fries were under done and my wife and I both had a burger and fries thank God for the ketchup to make it ingestabel. Food was good. We were sat at a table and it took about 15 minutes before we were asked if we wanted something to drink. Finally got water which we asked for lemon wedges. Took another 10 minutes before we got lemon wedges. Food came but no napkins or eating utensils. After our meal was finished, it took quite some time before we were able to get a check. After walking around Downtown for a while, I and my family were starting to get hungry and after a few options we decided on this place. My oldest ate all but half of his sandwich, my youngest really just munched on her fries but later ate the rest of her food for lunch the next day. The French fries were a must get. I had the bison burger with pepper jack cheese and a salad, honestly the best burger and salad I have had in a LONG time. We ordered food tonight at 6:20 for 4 people. Simple order, 4 sandwiches and fries. An hour goes by, so we ask one of the hostesses how much longer and she said its going to be a while because were training new kitchen staff and were short staffed. We asked her to check on the exact time. She comes back and says it will be another 30 mins, so we got up and left.As we are crossing the street, one of the waitresses comes out of the restaurant and yells at us that we ordered food and left and now the server had to pay for it. I might have to say this is one of the best burger places Ive been to, and Ive been to quite a few.It started just walking into the door: the scene was unique, the decor was pleasing and easy on the eyes, the service was exponentially awesome and cheerful and very friendly. Then the food was really good. I went for a Mushroom-swiss medium rare with garlic fries. The burger was very good especially with a few fries on it. And the fries were also really good. The garlic was a really solid flavor that punched hard and hangs out awhile (bring mints next time probably).Very good meals, including the chicken salad beside me. For the price, it was well worth it.

Really good food! I got their regular burger, and it was great. In particular, the meat was great, not greasy. Medium-well was exactly what it should be. So now I’m wondering how their grass-fed beef would taste like. Their wine was great too, $8 per glass, and that was a huge glass. Great food and ambience. Its a lovely place for a small town. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. One star for our server. She was nice and promptly brought our drinks. Thats where the positive ends. We waited 40 minutes for food, only to find out they were training new kitchen staff and it would be additional 30 minutes for our food (order consisted of sandwiches, a salad and fries). After hearing this we decided that we didnt want to wait over an hour for food and let another server know we we going to leave. As we were crossing the street, another person who works there had the nerve to yell at us from across the street in an indignant manner and say that we were rude for not waiting. Very good burger. I appreciated that they didnt over cook it like most places do. When I went to order it medium rare the waitress confirmed with me that would be red and bloody by their measure. Not that great. Years ago this use to be the place to go to get a great burger and fries but the quality has went down. I got a turkey sandwich with garlic fries. The sandwich was bland and salty. Its been a standby when Im in town because they reliably have bottles of black butte porter which is a low end backstop beer at home but a luxury when Im in Sonora. The Sonora taproom had some good stouts and porters in the fridge on Halloween but hasnt figured out how to restock since. Ive had pretty good food experiences. The garlic on their fries is great, they were happy to throw some in my quesadila, too. The pesto burger only had a small dollop of pesto so that was disappointing but it had good flavor. We went to Diamondback to dine outside this evening. 1st we will told to go in and see the reservation person at the front desk to put our name in we were never acknowledged and she took someone before us. When we inquired as to when we could be seated outside we were told the outside was full. This was not so much a concern to me as the fact that the reservation person was not wearing a mask. This is the fault of the owners/managers. We left and went another restaurant where the staff all were wearing masks and sanitizing their hands.We are in the middle of a pandemic hello. I was upset told the waitress but she seemed very innocent to my critique that there were several health violations. Will not go back until they CLEAN up their protocol.

The food was decent once we got what was ordered. Cooking a hamburger to medium shouldnt be that hard for a place that call itself a grill. Also most people in the world know that American French fries are served hot. We were not the only table that had to return thier meals to get hot fries.The wine selection was local and ok but nothing I would drive out of my way to get.

Great burger and great service. Had the Cheddar Bacon Burger with garlic fries. Fires may be too garlicky if one isnt expecting it, but I found them delicious. The burger was so satisfying and was cooked just as I wanted.

We were sited on Sunday afternoon indoors, made order with the waiter. 30 minutes passed, no food came out of the kitchen ! 40 minutes passed, and we asked the waiter to check upon our food, her response was Im sorry, I dont know., and she walks away. This is not an answer customer should expect ! Food came in almost 1 hour since the order. After that no waiter came to check upon which is weird. Not going back for sure !

We had a wonderful experience here at Diamondback Grill! We ate in the wine room, not knowing that the actual restaurant was next door, and boy are we glad we did! Paige was our waitress, and she epitomized the friendliness and helpfulness that Sonora is known for. The hamburger and fries were great, wish we could have tried more of the dishes offered.

Basic, overpriced and bad service. I work next door and they are not friendly neighbors. As a regular patron I was lectured for asking for a cup of ice on a hot day. I was also given a $17 steak salad to-go and told that they didnt have a fork to give me. The waitress suggested I eat the salad with a spoon. I only get food from here when everything else is closed.

The place is always packed because the food is quite good, but it is SO NOISY. Sound just bounces off the walls making conversation difficult. Drinks are expensive 3 ice teas, for myself and grand kids, cost me $9 and no one offered refills so next time its water. The wait staff was fine but not exceptional.

Where do we start...passing through Sonora and googled the best food. For some strange reason this place came up as #2. When we got there we were greeted by a friendly enough bar tender who would be waiting on us. He took our order and then brought us our beer had clearly gone bad. Strike 1, but no big deal. Then after the server brought our would be salad to the patron next to us (which she ate) he then 20 minutes later brought us the completely wrong order. On his was to bring the proper table the order another family behind us questioned where there food was as it had been an hour. He then proceeded to bring them the incorrect food. After he rectified that situation and some 30 minutes later he returned with our correct burger but no salad. He forgot that. Our fries were cold and tasteless with the exception of the cold, raw, minced garlic on top. The burger was juicy, but undercooked and again completely tasteless. Or salad arrived a few minutes later swimming in dressing that literally tasted like galic dishwater. Needless to say we got the check promptly after that and are now continuing our drive home with upset tummies. And I have now lost all decision making rights per my boyfriend because I picked this let down of an establishment. Dont go.

Great burger. Honestly, this is one of the best hamburgers Ive ever had. I always get the Ortega-Jack burger. Its always cooked perfectly and the sesame bun just makes it complete. I always make sure and stop here when Im in town for work.

I am disappointed with this highly popular Sonora restaurant. While doing my taxes I found several receipts that didnt reconcile with my Bank statement and some that are very high. For example, someone wrote in a 50% tip on a Togo order. Not cool. Not going back.

Awesome Portobello Pesto Sandwich and salad. Friend had the super duper grilled cheese and salad. Everything was great, flavors bright and fresh. Server was perfect.
