2023-12-07 14:42:41Be prepared for a very unique experience sampling Balinese /indonesian cuisine. Food is authentic and servers are friendly and very informative on the food /drinks. Place is decorated with hippie art that pleases the eyes!

2023-09-25 16:35:33Excellent place for some inspired food. We were looking for some Indonesian food and Dija Mara came up as an option. It has some great takes on traditional food, where many places will give you food like you Oma made, Dija Mara gives you a modern take on it, its something fresh and delicious even if your already a fan.The servers were friendly and great, the bar had some interesting drink options, and the casual atmosphere fit couples, solos, groups of friends, and what looked like a childs birthday party without and disjointed feel.I would highly recommend. One note, they keep the menu fresh so always check with your server as the menu may not reflect what they are actually serving. The desert we ordered was not the one on the menu, it was still excellent just not what we were expecting.

2023-10-25 03:58:23It has a dim lit industrial vibe, so it would be great for a date. Food has phenomenal flavors, definitely all small plates so prepare to order 2 per person at least. Definitely recommend the charred eggplant!

2023-07-27 23:06:42I enjoyed my meal here very much. I ordered the tuna crudo, market fish, roti, and I had the apricot dessert. Everything was delicious and came out pretty quickly. The cocktails were really good. My favorite was the cardinal sin. The staff was friendly and attentive. Great atmosphere also.

2023-06-17 01:24:21We had the Roti, Tuna crudo, pork belly skewers, and the big fried fish. All the items were amazing! The items all have great flavor and presentation. It is my first time having Balinese food, and now I plan to take a vacation to Bali. We will be back!

2023-09-16 17:24:05The food is very good, and service, which is the most important! I only wish they had pictures of the food on the menu so we could see what to expect. My husband liked the beef tartar, but would not have gotten it if he knew it came on bread. I wouldnt say the food is Balinese, but the rice and fried chicken reminded me of Bali; it was very good! The sambal is not like the kind in Bali, but maybe from another area in Indonesia. Anyway... go to this restaurant if youre interested in the indo cuisine. The restaurant is small, dark, and the decorations are street scene with uncomfortable chairs. Dont expect anything fancy and just come for the food and service.

2023-02-25 02:18:49In our 6 night visit to Oceanside/Carlsbad, we decided to come to Dija Mara twice as it was amazing! There are lots of good food options within a short radius, but Dija Mara offered something truly unique with all the right flavors and spices. Highly recommend the chicken skewers!Menu was somewhat limited, and everything was spicier than what they imply, but it was just super tasteful and Id happily return next time I come to Oceanside!

2022-12-01 15:59:475 stars for food (wow), 3 stars for service, and 3 stars for the very limited wine list. Its pricey but not too bad.First, the food is outstanding and innovative. Its the best restaurant food-wise in Oceanside for sure. We had 6 dishes, which were all unique from each other and all excellent - ceviche, spicy noodles, spicy eggplant (please add that its spicy on the menu), chicken skewers, pork belly skewers, and pot de creme dessert. They were all full of a variety of flavors. You can see why this place got a Michelin star. The pork belly skewers and eggplant were the highlights for us.However, the service was mediocre. We had to flag down the wait staff well after our drinks ran out, the dessert took a very long time to come out, and the staff would ask us questions but walk away before we could answer. That happened a few times, and frankly it was rude. It made us feel unwanted there. The restaurant was fairly busy but not that busy. The beers and cocktails were excellent, but if you want to drink wine and arent an avid natural wine fan, I recommend bringing your own and paying corkage. The wine list is very limited. Also FYI it has a very modern, hip vibe with graffiti, brick walls, etc. Take that for what it is, its just a different experience from most high-end restaurants. So overall we walked away with a glad we tried it but wont be back feeling.
