This place was such an awesome gem to find, and I can’t wait to go back. Everything was fresh and delicious. The service was wonderful and we were pleasantly surprised by the serving sizes. I had the calamari & tempura sake roll and both were amazing! Our group ordered a variety of dishes and they were all tasty and plated beautifully. Our waitress was also super friendly and patient with us!

I can’t remember exactly what I got but I think she called it the #99 Spanish and ya boy was it delicioso🤤 it had slices of lemon on it and and salmon and was superb! Definitely a lighter tasting roll that had me feeling full but not stuffed! The lemon slices were refreshing that gave the roll great acidity and the cucumber added refreshment and crunch! I look forward to trying other rolls here!

The sushi is really fresh and good, I had sashimi. I had a eel hand role, so good. I never had a bad meal at the restaurant. Not a fan of the service but I gave a star back because he only charged me half since I didn’t get what I ordered. The place it too cold.

The food was high priced from the menu. And the online menu was ten dollars cheaper. The waitress gave poor service not giving me my check. And I had given my special request for fried rice being diabetic. She had completely ignored me. I am a senior and felt real discrimination.

Had a bad experience when I tried to talk about it, waitress was rude and refused to take off one roll even though the whole meal was bad. This place smells like a bathroom. Even the sake tasted watered down. Will not be returning to Domo Sushi. Even the shrimp tempura roll which is a safe bet at every sushi place was bad.

We have been customers of this fine sushi establishment ever since it has opened. The prices are very fair (some the best in San Diego) and the sushi always fresh and delicious.As an aging Japanese heritage man heading to type II diabetes my go to is the Hercules protein roll that is relatively new to the menu. No rice but instead wrapped in cucumber...and no discount for this one but there is a lot of sashimi (raw fish) in this beautifully presented roll (check out my picture!).For those more budget conscious they have half price rolls that are just wonderful as well. They also have bento boxes for the less venturous and their Champon udon is fantastic!Another faithful Japanese treat is their hamachi Kama (the collar of a yellow tail tuna) that is roasted (when they have it). It is the fatty (good fish fat) and juicy part of the fish and comes with ponzu (citrusy soy sauce) that just sets it off well. This traditional dish is usually reserved for friends of the owner of a restaurant or distinguished guests. Flavorful. Tender. Rich. You will understand why this delicacy is worth seeking out!I also LOVE their octopus karaage!!! Flavorful baby octopus deep fried to perfection!!!You cant go wrong with anything ordered and consumed here. The BEST sushi place in San Diego with great, personal service (if you want to engage the wait staff). We love them all!!! We love Domo Sushi!!!!!!

We’ve always had really good food here. Rolls are fresh, rice is perfect temp, texture, and flavor, lots of variety and deals, and great portions. Love that they always prep our to-go orders with good amounts of wasabi and ginger. Even if there’s an off night, it’s still better than so many of the sushi places in San Diego. Wish they had online ordering for takeout bc wait times can be long, but it’s a small and popular place, so I’m sure they have to keep the number of orders manageable somehow. Def recommend.

❗TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE❗ Ive been coming here for 2 years typically twice a month sometimes 3 times a month. I have never had an issue but this last time I was left waiting to order food for 20 min being ignored and when I ordered I asked for ginger after ordered 4 rolls and the manager told me she would charge extra for ginger (ive never been charged extra for ginger, or sriracha ) so I declined. When I received my check they charged me for sriracha and I asked why was I charged for sriracha she said because the last time weve came we didnt tip and they decide who they charge for sauces, ginger or Wasabi. She said thats how they will get their tips. Would not recommend or come back.

The pricing is reasonable and the variety of offerings is pretty good for a place labeled as a sushi establishment. You can get other Japanese fare and it still comes out pretty good even though its not their named specialty. The service is friendly and the young people working there exhibited a level of maturity not often seen.

We have been to Domo a few times now, and have enjoyed the food and staff every time. The manager and staff have always been super awesome to us when we come in, and theyre especially sweet with the kids. My son just had his 6th birthday and asked to go to Domo for his birthday lunch. After chowing down on his favorite sushi roll, they brought him ice cream with a candle and warm water when he was cold, and the staff were really kind to him.I recommend Domo because of the awesome sushi and the kid friendly environment.

I wrote five stars but its 4.5 because of the size of the space. This place is small and doesnt have a lot of seating so be prepared to wait, but not too long, for a spot on a Friday night. They have the short bar and tables and chairs to sit at. We were sitting pretty close to other tables so if youre not into sitting close to people you dont know, dont come here. On the plus side, because of the small space, the waitresses so get around fast and take your order and being your food quickly. Staff is friendly and attentive. They have a section of rolls that are 50% off and 30% off everyday. Look for those on the menu because they are priced well and taste great. I recommend the Volcano roll, garlic edamame, and miso soup. High chairs are available but the space is tight so dont bring your stroller. There were a few people with their car seats there. They had other options to ear besides sushi. Im not a drinker but I did see people drinking. We shared four rolls and they were all very good. Definitely worth visiting!

I was so impressed with this place. The sushi was fresh and delicious and the staff were so sweet and sincere. Be prepared to wait for maybe ten minutes on a weekend as its crowded. The clientelle ranges in age but I noticed quite a few younger folks and lots of people coming in for take out. Definitely come here! Yummy! Come here.

I honestly dont see what others have rated this restaurant. Soup was burnt, second bowl had almost no flavor. Hot lips roll was marginal at best, the edamame had no garlic just garlic salt, LOTS of garlic salt. Bentos box was OK. Teriyaki beef was not to bad. The cheese Wontons? Ive had better from 7-11. I rarely give bad restaurant reviews but unfortunately they earned it. Hope you have better luck.

Went to this place yesterday had a roll with salmon in it and a Mexican roll. I noticed that the salmon was a little off and gooey. I only had a couple pieces of the salmon roll after eating the Mexican roll. A couple hours later I was not feeling too well and I dont want to go into detail but Ive been sick all day today. I know what fresh salmon tastes like and this was not fresh (Coming from a commercial fishermans view) at all! Luckily for them it was just a little food poisoning or I would bring it back to them if ya know what I mean. I eat sushi at least once a week and have had this problem once before buying from a local grocery center. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Any good sushi chef knows what fresh fish looks like or smells like. These guys obviously dont know what there doing! DONT GO THERE IF YOU KNOW WHATS GOOD FOR YOU!!!

Its taken a year of my wife telling me we should try it again everyone loves it.Went back yesterday, not only was our serving bringing wrong drinks i never even got my food. After waiting quit some time i even asked and was told there behind and they are working on it. They should state that they close at 2pm. I took my daughter here today after she had a doctor appointment. We arrived at 2:05 and they said we could only order to go since they close at 2pm. We ordered to go. Sushi was okay. Didnt really like the Charger roll. Funny thing is we probably would have been finished by 2:30pm anyway. For the location and price, this sushi is really good! Definitely the best sushi in Santee. Their yellowtail in particular was delicious, and I really enjoyed the cucumber-wrapped Hercules roll! Inexpensive but not cheap, with attentive, kind service. We will certainly be back!

Excellent quality, delicious, and affordable. One of the best menus Ive seen in a while-there were so many great options to choose from. I try to stay low carb so I got the domo blossom roll and the Hercules roll because they dont have rice. They were both spectacular, and plated so beautifully that they were almost to pretty to eat. I was also excited to find that they serve my favorite saki. Will definitely be back.

One of the best and cheapest sushi places in town! I am surprised they havent expanded yet! Everything here is very cheap in comparison to other sushi places, plus they have extra selection on one of their boards. This place does tend to get packed during the dinner hours and I do not recommend going at these times because minutes do seem like they are turning into centuries.Once I get my food I do not complain at all! However, this place always forgets my menu. I do not know why but I believe it is because they have a shortage on it.

They have good food, but don’t expect them to honor their store hours. They anticipate closing directly at 9pm, grills, cooks, servers, everything is closed down before 9 so they can leave as close to 9pm as they can. So basically their store hours are from 11am-8:25 pm. Even earlier if you are expecting to dine in. Normal restaurants stop taking orders/accepting customers at the end of their store hours. When you say you close at 9 it doesn’t mean you stop working and go home at 9:01pm. If you want to clock out at 9pm then don’t post your store hours as saying your OPEN until 9. You close at 8:30.They also used to ignored their phones or turn them off around 8:15 for about a year, as long as I’ve been going there. However, about 3 weeks ago a store owner/manager caught the receptionist/server in charge of taking to go orders doing this. Something that only happened because I physically went there to make my order after they refused to answer the phones and the store owner just happened to overhear that i had been calling with no answer. She checked and discovered the phone had been switched off. I’m sure after time goes on a little longer they will be back to that little trick.The only impression this gives me is whoever is in charge of taking orders and whatever staff hates their jobs so much, they have no problem turning away customers who are just a few minutes too late for their real closing time of 8:25-8:35 because their posted closing time says 9:00pm. Just bad business. A business should have set, public operating hours. Not secrete whenever I feel like ive worked long enough and want to to go home hours. I probably will not go there anymore. There is another sushi place near me that is more professional, I’ll give my business to them instead.

Usually a huge fan of this establishment. Tonight was disappointing though. Now, it did look like there was only one server and to be a little slow is NOT why Im writing this. I completely understand being short staffed and having to take a few minutes to get to everyone.This is because if youre the only server and stand there talking to the same customer for over 5 minutes, there seems to be a time management issue. I would suggest that at least keep your head on a swivel and if you notice a table with no food and empty plates, excuse yourself to at least ask if theyre done. Just in case you were wondering, we werent done.Food was great, even though we were charged an extra 18 percent because of our group (by the way, who charges for 5 people and an infant in a high chair that doesnt order her own food?).

Small place, very loud,not recommended for a night out spot but in the morning its a lot easier for the workers i guess so they are much faster and more attentive to your needs as a client.. Good food but small place do once again a better spot for morning and coming afternoon but by the evening its difficult to walk by a table without accidentally bumping someone or to move with ease.. In the afternoon it becomes complicated to have a conversation over tbe loud children or conversation of the customers eating their meals to the right or left of you good people.. Alright, so heres the deal. I actually really really like Domo Sushi. Ive been eating here for 2 or 3 years. Eating in is a great value, and their rolls are fantastic. You should definitely come here and get a rainbow roll and some garlic edamame. Oh, the fried gyoza is killer too. The waitresses here are some of the friendliest faces in food service!However, they recently upped their prices. I get it, cost of doing business and all. But I cant say I havent explored other options since this happened. If you want to eat on a budget, you can pretty much only get the basic rolls. And dont even think about getting edamame. Sorry Domo, I still love you, but were no longer exclusive. :(

Located on Mission Gorge Road in Santee is Domo, one of the best Sushi restaurants I’ve had the privelege of visiting. 14 years ago, when my wife and I were dating, we would go to Domo for our date nights because we both loved to eat sushi. We loved it since we could both eat comfortably for under $40. We are still regular customers and love visiting time and time again. I hope Domo becomes your favorite too.

This place is usually amazing, but not today. Let me be clear, the food here is great and today was no exception, but the issue was that they royally messed up my order and didnt offer a refund or even to reimburse me for the difference. I ordered for pick-up and out of the 13 items ordered only 3 were correct! I ordered 3 orders of salmon sashimi, 7 salmon skin hand rolls, 1 crab hand roll, jalapeno poppers and a poke salad. They totally blew it on the hand rolls and sashimi! Instead, they gave me salmon nigiri and salmon skin rolls, not hand rolls (which are much cheaper) and when I went in to get the corrected order they didnt even offer a refund for the difference in the amount. No concessions what so ever! In fact, I lost money! Twelve dollars, not a big deal, I know, but still. I think they have a new person taking orders that never ate sushi before. So sad Domo, so sad.

Domos is the best place for sushi in San Diego. The prices are amazing, the food is to die for and the service is A+. Try these rolls: Tiger, Resolution, Ring of Fire and Tempura Sake...all of the two piece Nigiris are bomb, especially the salmon. Domos is busy during peak hours, but its worth the wait no matter how long!!!
