It’s very pricey here, but it’s really good! Came to about $27 per person after tax and tip, but we were full. Very conveniently located on the outskirts of downtown San Mateo. You order from an app and the food comes pretty quickly. They didn’t have the fried buns because they ran out of stock, which was very disappointing because they make those really well. However. that made us try the pan, fried beef cake as a substitute, which turned out to be extremely good!! XLB are standard staples and the braised beef noodles soup warms you up in the winter. The chicken potstickers are also really good.By the way, Dough Zone is a chain. There are a few of them in the Bay Area. And this one in San Mateo is way better than the one in San Jose.

The place is nice! The portion for each dish is kinda small so I would recommend 4 dish per person. But the small portion (reasonably priced) give you the option to try out more flavors! The beef noodle (牛肉面)is the best and I will order again! The spicy and sour noodle (酸辣粉) is average and I wouldn’t order again! The fried dumplings 🥟 (锅贴)are great! I would 100% recommend.

Great service and great food! Really good for both big parties and small dishes. A lot of their dishes can be single servings. The service is super fast and it’s really easy to pay online.

Their dumplings are soooo good!! Its weird because you dont interact with the people who work there, you just order online. Noodles are great, dumplings are great, gyoza is great, its all delicious. Plus a super cute interior!

My cousin was really excited to take me here & i see exactly why!! came in around 2:30pm and we had the entire restaurant to ourselves as if we rented the whole spot. ambiance is nice and the food came out fast. we ordered 11 dishes and a frozen bao togo BUT we ended up w two bao togo because our server was the sweetest lady ever! she even gave us two free sprites in exchange for a review. i’ve never been so excited to write a review but here i am. food was delicious and we have decided that it is way better than din tai fung and a lot more worth it. a plus is the togo boxes are cute hehe. definitely recommend this spot if you’re in the san mateo area!

4 stars only because YOU have to order through the QR code and the menu is only available online (can be confusing). The waiter prints out your order then crosses it out as they bring out each dish. The food was tasty.

You can waitlist on yelp to avoid waiting in line and it took about 20mins for 8 tables. The presentation of the food was good but the taste was mediocre at best. Most of the dishes were salty and did not have much flavor other than tasting like soy sauce. I wouldnt recommend their xiao long bao or beef pancake. Their noodles were okay compared to the other dishes. This was my first and last time trying this place because of the high ratings on yelp and my family and I were disappointed with the food. The positive side is the prices are around 20% cheaper than other restaurants but the portion is a bit smaller. If you dont care too much about the atmosphere or nice decor, there are quite a few similar restaurants within minutes away and more authentic which you should try instead.

I’m so happy to have found this place in San Mateo. Everything I’ve tried on the menu I’ve liked. Food is yummy, service is friendly and the place is light and clean. If looking for dim sim this is it!

The restaurant was quite empty, but we gave it a try. When the food came out, we were surprised by the portion of the noodles. With this size, it actually is quite pricey. All the dishes taste quite plain, not delicious or flavorful. The worst are the buns. I’m a fan of Chinese buns, always order one dish of buns in any Chinese restaurant I visited, and I tell you these one tasted really weird.

Opened during pandemic. spacious and modern interior. but overall the quality & taste was terrible as you could tell all dumplings are frozen products from factory. quite surprised such quality could have received many good reviews…shanghai pork dumpling:juicy soup but not properly marinatedveggie dumpling:only half filling with rotten chinese cabbage & carrot, so we told the waiter but he just winked back & speechless… of course they did charge us for the rotten dishhot & sour noodle:portion was little. not hot nor spicy, just saltybeef rolls:beef is like salty aged meat
