This is my fave brunch place in Emeryville. The food always comes out fresh and hot, coffee tastes great, the vibe is perfect and they have free parking. Youll want to get in before 11:30am otherwise the lunch crowd starts pouring in. Regardless of how busy the place gets, it seems they are able to keep up with the pace and get you seated, get your order and turn it around in under 10 minutes. There does not seem to be a bad choice on the menu and you usually have a choice between inside or patio seating 👍👍.

Wow, great American diner experience! Never ending cups of black coffee, giant portions, friendly service. The Homefries Heaven was more food than I could possibly eat, and of course I ate most of it. My girlfriend got the combo breakfast with French toast, bacon and eggs over easy. Super delicious as well, the cinnamon butter spread is really good. The atmosphere is busy but relaxed with the chatter of busy brunch goers in the background. 10/10 would recommend if you’re in the neighborhood. Thanks!

10/15/2023: What a find! This establishment has an awesome ambiance, a menu that makes you want to try everything, and staff with excellent customer service.We started by sharing a la carte servings of pumpkin spice pancakes and blue corn hot cakes. Both were absolutely delicious, but the consensus was that the pumpkin spice was the better of the two.For entrees, our friend had the Azteca Huevos Rancheros, hubby had the California Benedict, and I enjoyed the Joes Scramble. Everything looked and tasted awesome! We were very happy with our brunch. Our server was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The staff overall were wonderful.This was our first visit, and we cant wait to get back! Thank you for a wonderful dining experience!

Had a long biking schedule planned that day so I wanted to eat something hearty and filling. Irish Benedict fit the bill, good eggs, hash and corned beef. Lasted around 5 hours before i hit the wall and had to find food. Loved the music too!

I have been going here for years now, and it never gets old. This is one of those true 5/5 restaurants for me. The brunch here is PHENOMENAL, Ive never had a complaint about the food here, and it always comes out quick, hot, and full of flavor. I highly recommend the Egg Benedicts (pulled pork and salmon), French Toast, and my recent favorite, the buttermilk pancakes (so fluffy and perfectly made). The potatos are always crispy and well seasoned, and my gf absolutely loves the bacon (with 0 regard to my bank account). The inside seating is nice but we usually sit outside when the sun is out. I love introducing people to this location its one of my absolute favorites. Stop reading this review and just GO! (Food is a tinnyyy bit pricy but its so worth it for the flavor/portion/service/ etc.)

Truly one of the best breakfast places in the bay. The Service was great my water stayed full the entire time. The whole staff worked as a team to give the customer a great experience where I felt comfortable and everything was clean and efficient. The food tasted fresh and if you get something get that stuffed French toast it was delicious with those bannas and marscopone makes it just sweet enough. And the potatoes were flavorful and crunchy on top. The Denver omelet had this shredded ham that tasted like the fancy honey ham you get during the holidays and the cherry on top it came out the kitchen in like 15 mins.

High quality food. The Irish eggs Benedict was phenomenal. I got the Azteca huevos rancheros, and that was also delicious. They really mastered the hash browns too. The hot sauces on the side were way better than the usual you get at a restaurant.I also really liked how they had a lot of options that gave you both sweet (pancakes or french toast) AND savory (eggs and sausage) in one menu item.The only thing I thought could use some improvement was the bloody Mary. Its made with something other than vodka, and it just seemed kinda flat somehow.

Cool little spot kinda tucked away in Emeryville. Great coffee and delicious breakfast. Service was great and the food came hot and very quickly. I was very impressed by how soon we got our food. Parking is a little tricky during the week. But a very clean and quaint little spot. Seems as though the had an additional dining area in the back.

100% worth visiting, even if it means taking a small detour from your trip to SF. We ordered a French toast combo and added some home potatoes. Everything was amazing and this is by far the best French toast I’ve tried to date! The vanilla latte and matcha latte were also spectacular and the service as amazing as well. Can’t beat it.

Ordered the irish eggs benny + pulled pork benny- irish benny was sadly fully cooked but at least the hollandaise was delicious. they are also packed and seem to be in a hurry for customers to leave. gave us the bill before we even finished eating our food.edit: food is good service not so much. the longer I come the worse the service seems. This time my friend & I ordered takeout- not only did my friend’s order not go through despite being charged, the staff did not have the decency to let her know when she got there and made her wait 10 minutes before telling her the order was not there at all. We were already on a time crunch and I ended up only having 5 mins to finish my whole meal. Really poor experience the staff cannot respect customer’s time

Doyle Street Cafe was easy to locate. Parking was challenging. We were seated ONCE all our party arrived, even the person parking the car. The waitress was lack luster. She appeared to be bothered.We all ordered. Two of the four orders were wrong. Management corrected it by making one plate again and leaving the incorrect order at the table. The order was incorrect. We left it as well. The food was pleasant enough.We like the atmosphere and our company. We still left a tip, in hopes the waitress would treat the next people better.

Very nice place for indoor and outdoors relaxed dining in Emeryville. The place is slightly off the beaten path and is a favorite of the local residents and business offices. The cafe/restaurant also has its own free, off-street parking nearby.

I enjoyed my Sunday brunch here even on a light rainy day. I sat outside the inside seemed nice as the photos. They were busy but had a seat available, and they also have a waiting area. I ordered a mimosa and the Joes special and it was good. They brought it out in a good time.

My wife and I decided to try this place before going to SF, the wait time was not long at all. You can also go on the wait-list on Yelp that helps as well. Free parking lot across the street 👍. We checked in and sat within 3-5min. Great vibe, excellent service and food! We received our food within 10-15min. I would of been happy if it came out in 20-30min. MUST HAVE THE HOUSE COFFEE. I also ordered the Irish Benedict and that was a selection Im very proud of. It was delicious. Also you MUST order the BREAKFAST POTATOES on the side very good. Overall I wasnt expecting to be blown away like I was. Awesome Place 😎.

Hubby and I took a morning walk specifically to have breakfast here. Service staff was amazing and the food even more amazing and so full of flavor. Go-To’s are the combo breakfasts (blue corn hotcakes or normal pancakes) or any Benedict (their hollandaise is the best I’ve had, and their thinly sliced breakfast potatoes are delicious).Service is incredibly friendly and fast. Expect $30-$35 for a meal, coffee, and tip but it’s totally worth it and you’ll walk away full.Ambiance ain’t bad, love their outside sidewalk setup.

I didn’t know this cute street existed in Emeryville much less a great little cafe. It was packed with an awesomely diverse crowd ( unlike Marin :) and the food is either decadent - my friend had pancakes or fresh and healthy - my salad. And good mimosas with freshly squeezed OJ. Ive had the opportunity to try Doyle Street Cafe several times, both take-out and dine-in.The staff is nice and welcoming and the service is speedy, which makes it a great place to grab a quick lunch on a busy weekday! On the other hand, the new outdoor seating arrangements makes it a nice place to hangout on the weekend.The food is good without being particularly special. My wife is in love with the cinnamon honey butter that comes with the pancakes! The price is okay for the quality and quantity of the food.Overall, a solid choice for a tasty weekend brunch or quick, filling weekday lunch!

Wonderful little hidden jewel. Service was incredibly good. The food was normal morning food with additional pops of interesting items. There was a chicken pesto crêpe, and other items that were really well done. On top of all of those things, they have an excellent clean bathroom. In a city where mostly you walk from place to place this is an absolute must.

The service was my favorite part of the meal. The food was great. If you get the stuffed French toast it’s enough to share. The bananas on the stuffed French toast tasted like bananas foster, they were incredible! The omelet was delicious but needed some salt. The ingredients inside were cooked perfectly and quite tasty. Also, the orange juice is the perfect combination of sweet and sour; you can tell it’s fresh. Would absolutely eat here again.

The wait was shorter than expected and the food came out fast. The fresh squeezed oj tasted really good. We had the DelMar Crepes, Marscapone stuffed French Toast, and the Huevos Rancheros Azteca. It was all delicious but I truly enjoyed the Huevos Ranchero Azteca, it had pulled pork on it and I have never had pulled pork with eggs before. The service was fast and friendly, the place stayed busy the whole time we were there and it was an allover fantastic experience. I highly recommend this place, but it is a little pricey for breakfast. Enjoy!

I was blown away by every aspect of our meal. The service was sweet and on point, the quickness of the kitchen, and the food itself was exceptional.My cafe mocha was perfectly sweet and strong. The orange juice was fresh and not sour like so many other breakfast joints.My wife had the french toast which was divine. There must have been almond extract in the batter, which elevated it to an incredible level.My Aztec Huevous Rancherous were incredible and generous. The egg was perfectly cooked, and the pickled carrots and jalapeños addes just the right amount of heat. Highly recommend!

Excellent. My wife and I love breakfast / brunch and couldn’t have been happier with Doyle street cafe. We shared a half stack of pancakes and she ordered a pomegranate cocktail and Irish coffee to drink, and the two eggs breakfast. Cornbread was incredible - don’t miss it. I ordered an iced americano (always nice to not have to explain an espresso drink to a server) and the Aztecs huevos rancheros. If we come here again, I’ll probably just get the regular huevos rancheros - the pork is a bit much (but very good). Oh! I almost forgot the home fries. They’re thin sliced rounds of potatoes fried crispy on the outside and soft in the middle.The staff were super nice and attentive and seemed to be having fun despite it being the day after thanksgiving.Great spot! Highly recommend.

For what I paid to have a breakfast plate and a cup of coffee it was almost 30$..I got one slice of toast cut in two, normal places are two slices cut in half for your bread with breakfast, no butter or jam offered at all(normally your toast comes buttered)..coffee was ok but not for almost 5$….atmosphere was nice but overall it wasn’t worth what I paid to sit down and eat there. Probably won’t return and won’t suggest it to anyone. Just sayin..

It was sooooooooo good!! It is a little pricey but I think worth it. The coffee is also great and the flavored butter on top of the pancakes was a great addition.

Visiting from out of state, we didnt know what to expect. Found out this place was within walking distance from our stay and was satisfied with the choice! The waiter was happy to answer our silly questions about the food since we didnt know what to expect. I got a combo plate with blueberry pancakes. The sausage was so good! Always love having breakfast/ brunch here. Great ambiance... tasteful, yet homey and comfortable. Can accommodate singles, couples or large groups. Have eaten here solo, with my husband and have brought family and friends here and every dish was great, and every meal was memorable. The owners are often hosting and even serving some of the tables and they are extremely friendly, personable and funny. They clearly take pride in what theyve built, and deservedly so. Latest great addition is the outdoor parklet to respond to Covid-19 that not only allows outdoor dining but also protects one from the rain. Theyre taking about adding outdoor heaters in the future. Add to this free parking in a large parking lot just cattycorner from the restaurant and you get one of my favorite brunch destinations.

So we got a to-go order and there were a couple of issues. The Homefries Heaven lacked salt/seasoning and the potatoes were inconsistently cooked. Some were on the raw side and some slightly burned.They also forgot to pack part of our order (the eggs). When we turned around and returned (about 15 minutes later) they had them waiting on the counter. They were apologetic and offered a free drink, but they handed over the now cold eggs. Imo they should have redone the eggs rather than give a free drink. On the plus side the pancakes were tasty and a great consistency. Those wed go back for.

Their Ultimate Benedict is so delicious, that will be my go-to from now on. My husband likes to get the huevos rancheros and French toast. My only qualm is that my matcha tea latte was insanely sweet that it just tasted like sugar water. Our server was so kind to try to get it adjusted but when he came back it was still too sweet. And undrinkable for $6 so that was disappointing.The ice tea they use is a pomegranate but they dont tell you that its a fruit tea so make sure you ask. Drinks were a big fail but the food and service was really great.The wait time for a Saturday morning wasnt too bad, just about 15 minutes or so.

Ive been here a handful of times. The last time before this one that i was there was about a year ago. So Im comparing the food I got today from the one a year ago. We ordered the chicken pesto crepe the ultimate benedict and combo breakfast. The Benedict and combo breakfast were really good as always, unfortunately, the crepe was not. It didnt look like the crepe that Ive had before. The texture wasnt of a crepe it was more like a hard toasted flour tortilla. Folded like a quesadilla as well. It taste more like a super cruchy quesadilla than a crepe. But the ambiance and staff was nice.

Hidden away on a side street in Emeryville, this is an institution that I’ve visited often B&AC (before & after COVID). If anything it’s just gotten better. The outside seating is pleasantly shielded from the street and inside the tables are well spaced.The food is delicious. For savory palettes, the Huevos Ranchero Azteca is my top choice. For sweet teeth, the French Toast, hands down. Forget the syrup; the butter alone is the perfect accent.The service is welcoming and efficient. Parking is plentiful in two lots as well as on the street.Good luck on weekends; get on the waitlist and you’ll have a decent chance. Where do I begin? A friend of mine and I went to this location for breakfast. We walked in, waited a few minutes, and then was seated. We’re sitting there 12 full mins before a manager type person comes over and brings us water. 3-5 minutes after that he takes our drink orders. 15 mins later, he finally comes back and takes our food order. (So if you’re keeping up with time, over 30 mins just to get the food order in). While we’re sitting there and waiting, 4 other non black customers are seated directly next to us. I kid you not, 9 seconds after being seated they were greeted with water, asked about drink orders, etc. Back to our table, we get our food delivered by a server (mind you a server has never came to our table, greeted us, served us, nothing). She drops the food off and that will be the last time we ever see anyone until WE ASK for the check. I mean that wasn’t even coming. NOT 1 TIME, were we asked if “everything was okay?” “Did we want our empty cups of water filled up?” “Did we need extra napkins?” “Did we need any to go boxes?” Not a thing! But the table next to us, had 3 people serving it. Water refills before anybody even took a sip, food orders within 5 mins of being seated. My friend and I couldn’t believe the blatant disrespect we were receiving. It was as if our money didn’t spend the same way that their money spent. I’m not saying the manager or workers are racist, but I AM saying THAT THERE WAS A CLEAR DIFFERENCE IN THE TREATMENT OF CUSTOMERS THAT DIDN’T LOOK LIKE OTHERS. Do what you want with that information. I would love for the owner of the establishment to read this, because what an experience that was.

Really, really good food! I got the Doyle st omelette and it was perfection. Not entirely sold on why exactly it was $17, to me it was the same level as something Id get at a nicer diner. My friends got the corn pancakes and sausage and said it was easily the best sausage theyd ever had. Loved all the hot sauce already at the table. Heads up though, they wont do special accommodations even for allergies. My friend asked for eggs on the side and even that wasnt possible. This was a day of celebration for my birthday. We were seated immediately. Unfortunately, after waiting 10 to 15 minutes, we asked for water and coffee. Rudest workers ever. Today is Tuesday the 21st, and the inattentive, nasty staff (3 of them) working at 10am left a sour taste in my mouth. The overpriced food didn’t make up for it. The fries weren’t anything special but insanely expensive. I will never come back. I can make everything way better than all we had. Ive been going to the Doyle St. Cafe literally my entire adult life, and I enjoy it. The food is good, and Ive never had a problem there over 22+ years. Until today.My mother is in a wheelchair and dying of a wasting disease, and wanted a last meal out with me. When I tried to show up well ahead of time to make sure that we could get a table so that she wouldnt have to wait when she arrived, I was told that there was no way to make a reservation, and wed just have to show up and wait with the brunch crowd.So I went home, and checked their website, where they show how to make a reservation online. When we got there, the hostess was entering walk-up diners into the exact same system that I used to get into the waitlist.We ended up waiting pretty much not at all, which was exactly what I had wanted for my mom. The meal was wonderful, and Im glad I got a last chance to share a meal with her at Doyle St. Cafe as we had so many times before.But the process of getting there was unnecessarily frustrating. I wish that the host I spoke to to start with had been able or willing to direct me to the proper place to make a reservation when I showed up early, or in some other way had been willing to be of assistance in putting me on the list. I was left feeling frustrated by the whole experience.

For us, this many visual clues, pretty much calls the whole thing into question. Was the aioli purely mayo? Was the meat good? Cause we got pretty tore up, for just a bit of butter on the bread...My wife and I have a rule, if we dont get sick, well go back. This rule applies to every place we go even if its a favorite spot. Great breakfast spot thats almost untouchable on the weekends was completely empty on a weekday. Lots good choices for breakfast including omlettes, and poached options as well as some in house specials. Service is friendly and fast. Personally enjoyed all the photos around the place showing involvement in the community.

I eat here moderately often since its very close to home. They remember me and everyone is friendly. Service varies depending on how busy they are, which is not unusual. The food is good tho a bit expensive. Theres a nice variety of breakfast dishes, a bit less range for lunch - mostly sandwiches. The orange juice is from oranges they squeeze themselves, which I like, altho that ups the price. They have a decent range of Benedicts. My favorite dish is their jambalaya. Its a special, so not every day. I dont know if its true to New Orleans, but it is very tasty and well spiced. And they have their own parking lot.

Customer service for hosts was below par. They did not seat people quickly which is important in a small restaurant like this one. The food was AMAZING. I got the Delmar crepe and it had the perfect sauce that complemented the crab. The servers were wonderful. Very attentive and kind.

Very nice breakfast. Great coffee and juices. High quality food. Long wait. Difficult parking. Pretty slow service overall, but exceptional regardless. Dont go if youre in a hurry. But if you have time to relax and enjoy, its a great choice. Oh, delicious bloody Mary. Really, quite fabulous.

To Bad that I been a customer for years on this place and today was the last day I did go (due to a really bad services from the waitress and the cook whos supposedly the owner)She didnt took the order the way I did wanted (same order I been ordered for years at this place, plus after I did argue about that the cook show up around the area we where sitting, and keep looking at our table; and, when our order arrive the other 3 orders where the right way and I got mine like 10 minutes after them and half way cooked (even when I did order the same order one of my friend did ordered).Too bad this place goes down that way.

Good food, nice atmosphere. My son had Huevos Rancheros. It was amazing. We also had the crab cakes that were delicious & very crabby... not ready.3 stars were because I ordered the New Caesar Salad. It was supposed to have Romaine, Baby Kale, Mix Greens, cherry tomatoes, asiago cheese & house-made dressing. I was excited! Then I got a bowl of Chopped Romaine only and a few cherry tomatoes, and thats it! :-( It did not match the description at all and the dressing was not only bland but did not seem homemade. Note: Consistency is everything.

Food was good and service was quick. My boyfriend ordered the French toast breakfast combo and I had the tuna melt. Both were pretty tasty, but my boyfriend said the French toast was too gooey. I tried a bite and would definitely have to agree, it tasted like the French toast was soaked for too long in the egg wash.The owner had seated us and helped out our table a few times. One major thing my boyfriend and I both noticed was the owner would never directly look at my boyfriend as he spoke to him. I had taken note of this and would watch his interactions with the rest of the tables. With every other table, his demeanor was friendly and inviting, but with us, it was quick and short. Now my boyfriend is African-American so Id hate to think that this is the reason why he was acting this way, but as I watched how he was with other guests, I cant help to think that this may have been the reason.

Doyle Street Cafe was pretty darn good. I was astonished at the price of coffee, but the overall atmosphere, food selection, and portion size was on point. I had corned beef hash and my wife had crab cake Benedict and we both enjoyed our meals. Will probably be back if Im ever in the area again.

Wonderful little find! I plan on coming here more often for lunch. The food was wonderful, I had the Adult Grilled Cheese, awesome! The staff really pleasant & friendly. I mean, people were greeted at the door with a friendly Hello. The overall feel was comfortable and relaxing, you really enjoy your meal without feeling rushed. Coming Back

A nice restaurant in an industrial area. Was pleasantly surprised to find this little gem tucked away in what my wife and I thought was a sketchy part of Emeryville. Legit crab 🦀 benedict and homemade potatoes so full of flavor. What could have been a 2 hour wait ended up as a walk in and seated immediately due to a way early online check-in. Yay! Son, had a combination plate with sausage patty, French toast, egg and potatoes. Son a little disappointed that sausage patty came and not sausage links. Wait service not the best because you have to hail down your server. Hence, the 4 stars. Otherwise, solid wholesome good food.

My last two experiences about the sitting situation was just embarrassing cause my family was first to a lot of people who came after us and the guy was sitting people in front of us like we didnt exist.It was very upset situation one of my girls start crying cause they were very hungry and the manager just said to us to be patient.Not even a little discount for the situation.That is why I am giving them 2 stars

Lovely hidden gem in Emeryville. Great daily specials, newly remodeled. One suggestion is for the grilled chicken to be more tender and juicy. Its been over a decade since my last visit prior to a couple of weeks ago. Very nice to see that there is a good crowd at lunch.
