I ordered from DoorDash a black tonkotsu ramen and the spicy tonkotsu ramen. Both of the ramens were really good. Loved the pickle ginger on the ramen it was a nice touch.

This was THE WORST ramen Ive ever had. Top Ramen is better. The broth was disgusting, the noodles soggy and the chashu pork was inedible...fatty and bad tasting. There is no distinction between the broths, despite the menu description. The ramen came immediately, meaning the noodles were already cooked. The broth lukewarm and the egg was COLD. it was terrible

Dozo RamenLocation: 3415 Grand Ave, Oakland, CA 94610This intimate and cozy restaurant is locate in Grand Lake area, a few blocks away from LakeMerritt. It seats about 30, with small tables and wooden chairs for seats and has an extensive menu for Ramen items. The service is quite good, with about 3 servers who are polite and efficient with cleaning up the empty plates so more can come.This place is so good, that Ive been there a couple times in under a month. Each time we go, we always order the different assortments of meals; Ramen, Bento box, Rice bowl, Yaki Soba. Each dish is seasoned with its own spices and herbs which come out smelling savory and appetizing, unlike other places that use the same seasoning for all dishes.The Miso Ramen are one of my favourites. The Miso is seasoned with a spicy seasoning and done just right. One of my new favorites appetizer (how to forget?!) is the Takoyaki, crispy and right temperature. For last, the dessert enjoyed the most is Warabi Mochi Matcha with vanilla ice cream and matcha jelly to make it something of a dessert.The prices are extremely reasonable compared to similar places in the area and just as good, if not better!Cost: $20/person, no 10% service chargeRating: 5/5

Spicy tonkotsu (+ extra chashu) - The broth is ok. Theres flavor there but fairly mild. Definitely more on the thinner side. Spiciness is just about medium. Chashu was good.Not someplace Id think of revisiting.

My partner and I really enjoyed our takeout here. My beef ramen was really good -- solid noodles and tender beef. The broth was savory and a touch sweet. I would definitely recommend.

False advertising and cold food. Total disappointment. If you are allergic to gluten - stay AWAY!Their gluten free options have high amounts of gluten, Ive never had a worse stomach ache from eating out. And if that wasnt enough, my noodle soup came with hot broth and cold tofu and vegetables. The quality just wasnt there. I could have made a better noodle soup at home, easily. They have good appetizers, but thats about it.

Delicious, freshly-cooked food. We ate inside for lunch. There are a few tables and they are widely spaced apart. We had the Black Tonkotsu Ramen and the pork belly with rice (I forgot the name). I also loved the thoughtfulness of getting a high chair and an extra plate for our toddler without us asking. The food was excellent and well come back.

Neat and clean environment. Chicken Kara-ake is highly recommended!! Black tonkotsu ramen is super yummy and complex flavor. I feel amazed to try the first sip of that broth, feel like so many layers of flavors and they compliment to each other. I don’t live in that area, but I’ll definitely come back whenever I pass by!! Plus the 5 stars of the great smile and excellent service.

We purchased pork chashu and veggie yakisoba. Both good but the pork one I had had a huge chunk of then pork fat. I know few like that, but not me. Take that as you will.... the dusting of seaweed is unique and we liked as it gave the whole dish a unique flavor spread throughout and not just bites of seaweed. The takoyaki was different for me personally and the flavor on the outside was good but I wasnt to big on the inside. Not as flavorful and texture was mushy-er than I expected with the chunks of octopus. Not for me. Will definitely return for more chashu, yakisoba, and to try the ramen.

Probably some of the best Japanese food in the area. I went here on Saturday night with my husband, and were seated quickly. We got Karaage, Tonkatsu ramen and Katsudon and all dishes were delicious! Especially ramen, the broth was tasty and creamy.The staff is very friendly and attentive.Would definitely go back here!

Yes !! They are open on thanksgiving day . We arrived by noon. It’s a nice cozy Japanese ramen establishment in the Piedmont area. Every dish we ordered was delicious. We sampled the Yuzu ramen, takoyaki, gyoza and chicken teriyaki. The staff was incredibly nice and kind. Exceptional customer service, for which I would go back for that alone, combined with the ramen, this is a must go restaurant if your in the area!

The world is a scary place right now, but with a delicious bowl of ramen the clouds part and the sun shines through. Dozo ramen will give you this sunbeam. How was my Black Garlic Tonkotsu you ask? Pure bliss till the last drop. I literally said Wow this is really good every third bite until I hit the bottom of the bowl. my only regret is there is not a sixth star to give.

Legit teriyaki. Usually you get a syrupy sweet sauce drizzled on top, but this was clearly marinated in an authentic savory sauce. The yuzu ramen was unique and refreshing. The chashu donburi was a little bland. When were able to dine in again, I will definitely come back to this place.

This small family owned shop took over an old mom and pop burger shop. I got a katsu curry over rice for take out. It wasnt anything spectacular, but hit the spot on a cold rainy night. The curry got cold by the time I walked a couple blocks home. Will have to return for ramen.

The chicken katsu curry was very well seasoned and incredibly satisfying. The takoyaki were also great -- only complaint is too *much* bonito flakes. I didnt think it was possible either!

Ordered this place first time on caviar.... maybe that was the issue but any ways food showed up like warm ramen had to be re heated tastes good seemed good but both me and my friend fell ill from the ramen maybe the broth was not to temperature or something but more or less spent the night bloated and with a food bug situation
