Prices are incorrect on the menu. Actual prices are higher. They still havent fixed this after many reviews complaining about this.1st time coming here.Ordered all my items at the same time but each came out at different times. Had to wait between dishes.The BBQ Duck took the longest to come out as it was prepared last. Probably waited 30min+ just for the duck.Beef Chow mein was good but was what I would consider a small portion. Taste was okay.The Shrimp fried rice shouldnt have taken as long as it did to prepare. The taste was okay.The BBQ Duck was the worst offender. It didnt look at all like what the menu showed. It was actually grey colored, bland, and dry with lots of burned bits on it. Could taste the burned parts too much. The side-sauce didnt help much.Was hoping it would be somewhere Id regularly eat out as theres not many places that serve duck.Cant eat here again unless the quality issue is fixed.
This place is just good Chinese food in South Gate. Their restaurant is old school looking. I liked that a lot! They have a great variety of dishes. I really like their fried tofu dish and lo mein in general. Its so good!!! Will definitely go again!
I come here somewhat regularly to eat what has become my favorite Chinese food place within a 5 mile radius. The owner is formal, friendly and always pleased to see us. Have the dumplings (get a double order youre going to want them). He still wont give me the recipe. Any of the wonton soups will do in a pinch. They have a secret to keep it non greasy, cuz I have found many places wonton to be. Good food. Im done.
They took a long time to prepare the order. The hostess offered me something I thought at the beginning it was free for the wait, but then realized she was selling it to me. Good that I asked before she charged me for it. She then told me that nothing was free there in a not so nice tone. But the food is good there, so I will give them credit for that.
What a great Chinese restaurant in South Gate. The food is great and customer service is amazing. I have been coming here for about 10 years. Shrimp Fried Rice is the best food in the menu. They do have delivery, but defends if they staff available for delivery. To be served, it takes about 6 - 10 minutes. I do highly recommend this place.
Havent been here in a while, but I remember that the amount of meat given seemed very small.Kung pow shrimp came with so few shrimp, I thought they brought us peanuts and peppers

Absolute worst Chinese food Ive ever had, would have been cheaper and more authentic if I had just ordered at panda express. I ordered Mongolian beef and chow mein, totalling 21 dollars. The food itself was pretty burned and oily and quantity wise its less than a Styrofoam thank you combo box you get at your local orange chicken spot. Owners are greedy for money and wont even lock down their prices on the menu, they charge customers whatever they want usually a dollar or two more than what is on the menu (which explains the empty seats)- - - - - Update - - - - -Seems like theres been a few suspect new reviews but what really stands out in hindsight is how often people mention the oil in the food. Like, too much oil or using old oil. Best advice I have for the owner is this :1. Keep the Bruce Lee poster up, NO. MATTER. WHAT.2. Seems like you are trying to cut costs down on oil.I can understand that.What I think might be a better solution would be to stop recycling your oil and forcing it on your unwilling patrons. Instead, you can cut additional costs by securing a deal with the automobile lubrication specialist (Jiffy Lube) in which you reclaim their used oil for culinary purposes.I dont believe your customers would suspect the replaced ingredient. Furthermore you could possibly seek payment from said automobile lubrication specialist for disposing of the used oil. You might need EPA certification but I believe it to be a fruitful and sound financial decision.Take care,dear friend.
I never bother to write reviews, whether the food is good or bad, but this place.. The customer service was good and the food was relatively good too. I saw the “B” rating once I had already ordered the food so I decided to give it a chance but as I was eating I hear a dog bark. I still ignored it until I saw the owner’s or employee’s dog walking around the restaurant. I’m sure it was a nice and hopefully clean dog but I really don’t think pets and a restaurant are a good combo. Cute dog, but it’s a no for me😓
The food was great and service was prompt.Family favorite was the Orange Peel Chicken; wasnt too sweet or too thick 😋❤️Only complaint would lack of fountain drinks and ice water (had to pay for bottle)

Came here the other day, and I didnt enjoy any of my food. Maybe the chow mein but than again it was a small portion. Dont order any fish! I had the fish fillet with black bean sauce and I dont know how old this fish was but it was chewy and no good, the black bean sauce had a bad weak taste to it, I couldnt finish it and didnt even take it home. I thought the fried rice would taste better but it didnt. Pretty sure they reused the same oil for a good while. I wanted to like this place but it really let me down

Family owned restaurant where everything is cooked to order. Their cheese wontons are deeeelish! Every soup, noodle, fried rice, and BBQ plate has been rich in flavor and feels fresh. It is a gem! Please do not let this place turn into a fast food/buffet style place.
I give 5 stars because of their food, and service. If youre looking for ambiance, dont go there.... But FABULOUS FOOD is definitely there!!! You can even enjoy a beer with your food too.... I live in Vegas, anytime Im in Southgate I stop here to eat!!!!
This is great hidden spot in South Gate. Doesnt look like much from the outside, you will pass right by it if you blink. The food is amazing. The price is very reasonable. Ive taken my family to eat there on multiple occasions, we have always left full and satisfied without breaking the bank. I recommend the Kung Pao Scallop

Bad service I have been there a couple of times and they dont treat me how a customer should be treated. I saw cacaroches in the restaurant. They also gave me rotten basil and Im PREGNANT I dont make a big deal about it but was still charged for my food.

2018-09-07 05:11:47The food was pretty good. We had Orange chicken, veggie chow mein, fried egg rice, and Mongolian beef. Wait time was afoul. First plate to be set on our table was the veggie chow mein, four minutes later we received the Mongolian beef. Five minutes later we received our fried egg rice. I asked the person who brought out our last plate to our table about the time in wich our plates were being brought out to us. His response, I cannot cook the food in a minute, you know what I mean? Next time let us know you want your food all at once. Three minutes later, our orange chicken came out. You decide for yourself about the way the cook explained himself, but I did not like it. A few minutes later the waitress came over to our table and explained why our dishes were brought out at different times. We are very busy during lunch. Hmmmm. The place was empty!!!!!! We accupied the third table out of 20. Im not going back.

2023-06-06 00:46:02We are locals who liked to go to Dragon Flame for Chinese food. Tipically the wonton soup and the house chowmein. For the past times we have noticed the place being a little dirty and unattended. Also, we noticed they have dogs within the premises and sometimes in the kitchen where they prepare the food. That is something we dont like. The lady taking orders is sometimes rude. One time she was yelling to the cook very loud. We like to have a good time and meal everytime we go to a restaurant and pay for our food. I think we will stop going to Dragon Flame mainly due to the place having pets around the kitchen and poor customer service. We dont recommend it at all.

2022-05-28 23:13:28This is one of my go to restaurants. The owner is always welcoming and responsive. Some of the items on the menu are my absolute favorite, like pork dumplings, cumin lamb noodle and chicken egg flower soup. It also stays open until 2am at night which makes it convenient for anyone to eat late at night.
