Came here for a quick lunch and this place is awesome!Good:- Super reasonable and cheap prices for the amount of food you get!- Loved the duck banh mi, it was really tasty and great portion sizes - I think it might have been the best Bahn mi that Ive had in the city- The staff are super nice and the food comes out super quickly! I waited maybeBad:- No seating, just takeout so you need to eat somewhere nearbyOverall would come again! This place has a lot of simple options and feels really healthy too.

My Favorite quick lunch spot in this area.Generous portion(Banh Mi only), quick service(when you order online), inexpensive($10 in SF Downtown?! Only this place) tangy and tasty Banh Mi & Bowl.Among their various product, 5 spices Banh Mi / Shrimp Bowl(with Extra Noodle and Extra Fish Sauce) are my best.Vietnamese coffee is also good, I barely order it as my company has a coffee machine though...

Tasty fresh banh mi! I prefer roast pork. One banh mi is enough to feed a person.For the price point their food quality is perfect. No wonder why its so popular!- Good Vietnamese coffee (although the coffee isnt as strong as the authentic ones, I still found it pleasant).- Thai tea was nice but a little sweet for my taste. (Again, still liking it).I wont recommend their rolls however. The portion is big if thats what you are after, but other Vietnamese places I tried had obviously better quality.

Decided to give their BBQ pork banh mi a try during lunch hour. I can see through their kitchen that everything is freshly made. There was a line, but service was quick. The slices of pork were sufficient for such a big sandwich. Everything tastes really good, bread could be a little softer.

Its a 3.5 for me! The banh mis make lunch quick and easy but the flavor isnt fully there. I personally dont like how the banh mis are assembled because the meat is on one side and the veggies are on the other so you never really get everything together in one bite unless you have a big ole mouth haha.Lets break down the banh mi!- Bread: Soft, chewy, and has a crunch.. but I want the crumbs to get everywhere and cut the roof of my mouth ya know? Ha, I kid.- Pickled Daikon & Carrots: I never know if Im gonna get the old stuff where its already browning or the good stuff. Its been a mix.- Cilantro & Jalapeño: Cant really F up here right? I do wish the jalapeños were spicy though - I want it to burn!- Meat (Ive tried the roast pork and 5 spice chicken on separate occasions): Both are just lacking in flavor. The meat is also shredded and Im not sure if thats intentional. Both the pork and chicken kinda tasted the same because it tastes like nothing. I seem to get too much meat juice too and that just makes my sandwiches soggy.- Pate: Its tasty and I wish there was more of this stuff but it also always seem kinda wet? Maybe because of the meat juices.Overall, this place is close to my office so it makes an easy lunch but I only go once in a long while.

Super fast and reliable place! I always get their vegan tofu banh mi and it’s so delicious sometimes i get this 2-4x a week for lunch. I’ve introduced this place to 3 of my colleagues and they’re also obsessed with this place (they like the chicken and duck banh mi and bowl).I typically order online to avoid the lines and my sandwich is usually ready in less than 5 minutes.One small thing is that sometimes when I come a bit early (eg 10am), the tofu isn’t marinated and flavorful enough.That being said, I love DragonEats, it’s tofu banh mi, it’s fast and friendly service, and Tuan (the usual person at the front)!

I’m so sad that we’re moving! We have eaten at DragonEats literally ~100 times in the past few years. It’s always been our favorite lunch spot in SoMa. Duck sandwich was almost perfect. Great crusty bread (could have been a tad softer/fluffier on the inside), lots of cilantro (yes plz), and juicy tender duck (wouldnt have complained if there was a tad bit more meat).Overall, wonderfully amazing sandwich for the price (plz dont raise the price). Not quuuite filling enough to be a whole meal...just FYI.Still worth 5 stars. For sure.

Besides the delicious food its open later than most lunch spots, has a chill atmosphere, and friendly staff. TLDR: Great Banh mi. Expect to pay around 10$ for a sandwich. I got the 5 spice chicken banh mi and a soup and it was good, just not a standout. The bread was good, nice and crusty, how I like it. The meat was a bit skimpy and couldnt taste the 5 spice that well. The soup was interesting and had kale and some other greens, definitely didnt expect it! I walked out paying $11 for both.

This place is a 10. The US needs more restaurants like this -- places that do just a couple of things and do them REALLY well. Its hard to see it, they dont have a sign. Usually a long time, really crowded but fast and the best Bahn mi in the area. the recipe is different than your casual coffee shop Bahn mi and the flavors are incredible. The pork vermicelli bowl tastes great, but the portion size is small. This lands solidly in the light lunch category. If youre feeling hangry (hungy and angry) or enjoy meat this alone will not satisfy you. For the $6.50 price this isnt completely unreasonable, but Id be willing to pay an extra $1-2 for a decent extra portion serving.Hopefully their Bahn Mi sandwiches will be more satisfying. Went around lunch time (12:15 -ish) on a Thursday. The line was outside the building obviously, but moved pretty fast. I think I waited about 10 mins, before I got to the counter. Ordering was quick and easy - I got the 5 spice chicken banh mi, and a Vietnamese iced coffee. The banh mi probably took about 3 mins to be ready.The iced coffee was one of the better, pre-made Viet iced coffees, Ive had. It had that really strong, almost bitter taste to it. It was a tad bit too sweet though.The banh mi was really good too, though Ive definitely had better a few times in my life. Ill probably go back and check out some of the other options they have, like the duck, or the pork ones.Overall, really good, cheap -ish, lunch spot. The lines can be a little long, but moves fast. The tofu bahn mi is supposedly vegan (made with a vegan aioli) and it was delicious. The tofu was well marinated with a relatively silken texture, and the jalapeños were actually noticeably spicy which I appreciated. Dragon eats might be cheapest sandwich that you can get in FIDI. Less than $8 for lunch meal is a myth these days. Besides being cheap they serve one on the best banh mi.
