The food here is good, I enjoyed my deli sandwich and cookie.But the service here is total chaos. I ordered online for a 1230 pick up, sandwich wasn’t ready till 1245 after I had to ask multiple times about my order. Lots of people just standing around in lines, not in a line, waiting for service.And there is one employee annoyingly chopping veggies off to the side very loudly.Sandwich, chips, cookie, drink, four items for about $25

Great sandwich and market! I had just got into town and was staying at Creekside. I walked over here since its like 5 seconds from the hotel, but I did not realize they were about to close in only a few minutes. The sandwich was great and fresh and I really appreciated it after being tired from a long day of travel.

Its ok. Not enough meat or size for the price. I got the Reuben. Nothing wrong with the sandwich it was just an ordinary sandwich you can make at home or have the deli at Safeway make. Not sure why the Reuben was extra compared to other sandwiches.

I went for some lunch sandwiches but there was a 10 minute wait. The wait was well worth it once I ate my sandwich. Really tasty. Fresh ingredients on soft bread. Large menu of different sandwiches or build your own. Dont forget the chips and drink!

Maybe the best turkey club of my life was inhaled here. Everything, especially the bounty of veggies, was fresh and delicious, and their Dutch Crunch roll gave a fantastic texture to the sandwich. A super friendly team of people, all the side fixings you could want, and solid coffee. Not to be missed.

Used to be a local favorite. went back after 2 - 3 years. upset to see they raised their prices or was it always this expensive? sandwiches are phenomenal… but $16 for a sandwich? cmon. probably cost them 4 - 5 bucks to make em so if you like being upcharged 300%. go for it lol.

Hands down the best sandwich place in Palo Alto! (Won the best sandwich award in Palo Alto for the last 4 years). Steve’s special sandwich is my favorite with perfect taste and flavor! Ambiance is also very nice to sit and grab lunch or coffee.

Despite being a small market, they have an impressive selection of meats, cheeses, and toppings to choose from.The staff was friendly and helpful in guiding me through their menu, and the sandwiches were made fresh to order. I ordered the roast beef sandwich with provolone cheese and all the fixings, and it was absolutely delicious. Update in mid-2023: I went again and found the sandwiches solid, but unremarkable. Theyre double the price of Subway for only 20% more quality. It also feels clunky to take your ticket to another counter, wait for an employee to stop making sandwiches, then take payment for your ticket. I recommend ordering 30+ minutes in advance.Review from early 2022: Good, substantial sandwiches. Bread is strong and theres plenty of meat and cheese. The chipotle pesto has a strong tomato flavor. Delicious!

I come out here every few months to visit my grandparents and this is our go to place for sandwiches. The staff are very friendly and remember our orders even after weeks of not coming in. The wait can be long but the sandwiches are fantastic and the staff are friendly and accommodating.

High quality sandwiches that are worth the wait! I recommended calling in your order ahead of picking it up, especially if you go around lunch time. They also have snacks like chips and cookies to go with your meal. The staff is very friendly and Im never disappointed when I go here. Oh boy. Be prepared to spend 30-40 mins *just* to order and collect your sandwich. The layout and process to order, wait, and pay is unnecessarily complicated. Taste is so-so. Would not recommend.

You cannot get a better sandwich from anywhere in the state. The people are awesome and will remember you even after 1 visit. I always get the Kevins with extra extra bbq sauce. Its fantastic and I wish they would open more locations. If they did they would all be crazy successful.

This place is so/so. It isnt bad but it is just alright. I bought a sandwich and chips, no drink and it was nearly $18. Thats pretty steep for me for a normal sandwhich nothing in particular stood out to me about the sandwhich. Visit at your own risk and I dont mind paying a steep price as long as what Im getting is worth that $18.

We LOVE this place!! Hard to say enough good about it. We eat here every time we stay at the Creekside Inn. This time we ate here 3 times! Fantastic folks with some fantastic sandwiches. They can chat if its not too busy and youre chatty or they can be all business if you just need your lunch. Bread and toppings consistently fresh, meats consistently tasty. The best lunch spot Ive found in south Palo Alto for non-industrial food at less than $15.

Fantastic sandwich place! I go regularly and always take the veggie sandwich - soft avocado slices, tender artichoke, tomatoes, cress, pesto... absolutely delicious. The staff is always friendly and prepares the food perfectly. Tables inside and outside (simple but nice sun terrace!). Highly recommended, just be aware that this place can get packed during rush hour - so you might have to wait 15 minutes for your sandwich.

Stopped by on our way to SF for a quick sandwich. The deli was super casual and super satisfying! The menu was easy to read and love the variety.My sandwich was big and tasty. I got the pulled pork on a sourdough roll and the coleslaw was on point 👌🏻. Ate half there and other half to-go, definitely filling.The people greeted us and they were all so friendly and welcoming. I’ve never been to a deli place with this many potato chip varieties.The only downside is that we don’t live nearby.10/10 would come back!

Today was my 1st time visiting this establishment. I brought some clients here for a quick meal and they tried the salads. Thats like going to a lobster shack and ordering at steak. I had a Turkey & pastrami & bacon and avocado masterpiece of a sandwich. Plus great red potato salad! It was a little pricey but I still loved it. When I want to treat myself, Ill be back. Outstanding sandwiches, outstanding customer service! Our diet-and-age-diverse group ordered a pastrami, a veggie on gluten-free bread, and a kids custom turkey and cheese. Everything was fresh and packed with flavor. The owner (sorry I didnt get your name!) was also super friendly, delivered our food the patio and stayed around to chat, brought us bonus chipotle pesto, and checked back in partway through the meal. One of the best sandwiches Ive had in the area, long-standing local establishment, reasonable prices. We will definitely be back!

Driftwood has been my go-to local deli for more years than I can count. The customer service is stellar and Steve and Roberto both are always so welcoming to everyone. The food is great, with a large selection of sandwiches and other foods, and they have every drink and bag of chips imaginable. I could not recommend them more and you should definitely come here for lunch whenever you have the chance!

The Customers Favorite is a well-deserved name. This sandwich is easily one my top 5 now. My wife loves this sandwich, and shes the sandwich-hater in the family. This place is a treat to the palate.It’s an incredible sandwich shop.Order whatever you want on their roll.I had roast chicken with pesto & bacon.There’s dozens of “specials” that they’ve put together to choose from.A touch of jalapeño in the coleslaw is new to me. Great sandwiches. Even better service. I worked in the area for 2 years and went to ALL the delis in the area and this place is the best. Toasted Dutch Crunch is the ticket here. The pastrami is legit. I probably filled out 10 frequent customer cards in my time working in PA. It says you should get a sandwich valued at 6.95 i think when you redeem. They always let me get whatever i wanted for free. The owner is a real nice guy and so are all the employees. You must try this place. Call ahead because it can get PACKED during lunch. The prices are very fair. Less expensive than Village Cheese Shop and better/bigger sandwiches. Way better than Ace of Sandwiches. The only place that compared was JJs Market but they either left or are being remodeled.

Stopped here with my work crew as we were working on a jobsite in the area. Im glad we decided to go.As a business manager I have to commend the owner on their store. It was clean, inviting, friendly and straightforward. What I mean by that is the store was setup in 3 areas. Breakfast/coffee, lunch/sandwiches and the wine section.All areas had great selection and I could tell had good thought put into their curation. Great selection all around.If youre in the area, I recommend stopping by. Im jealous of the locals that get such a well run business so close to them.

We googled best sandwiches after watching a movie in Palo Alto and Driftwood popped up on the list and we decided to give it a try. The outside of the deli was rather understated and it belies the quality of the sandwiches. The high rating is well deserved, definitely some of the best sandwiches we have ever had. We ordered the pastrami/corned beef combo with Swiss cheese on rye (a classic NY creation that I am accustomed to); and a turkey, spinach & avocado on a toasted roll, absolutely delicious!! The iced mocha was made with high quality coffee bean and the chocolate flavor was intense and robust! Everything speak of quality! The staff who took our order was very helpful and patient with all our questions on choices; brought the food to us when we decided to sit outside. The gracious owner brought the coffee to us and chatted at length with us, so humbled and down to earth!

I drove past this spot on El Camino numerous times before I went in. I wish I could have done it sooner because I am impressed with the deli department here! I have tried only their sandwiches so far and boy, they know what they are doing...They have a rich menu and offer great service with little waiting time.I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an easy and delicious grub!

I wanted to enjoy eating somewhere authentic to Palo Alto. I read great reviews online and decided to stop in for a quick bite. I will for sure be returning in the future. In my opinion this is the best sandwich place on the peninsula. Quality is always perfect, there is plenty of seating (inside and a nice patio outside), and the owner is super friendly. Its also a full convenience store so you can pick up drinks, chips, yogurt, etc. The best neighborhood deli around. The only downside is they arent open on Sundays.

This place was really good back in the day but I received bread so hard I could barely bite it and bread so hard that I couldnt the last two times I came here. The portion sizes have also shrunk considerably to the point that they are no longer reminiscent of what they used to be. A loss of a good sandwich place.Edit: The bread I chose was the Dutch crunch and its the one that I usually get. The only times that it was that hard were the last two times I was there...

Just ate here! Love the mom and pop shop of the deli. Reminded me of growing up in the san Francisco mission district. The sourdough roll is to die for!! Nice and sour!!! The staff and food were excellent! My family and I from Upstate New York stayed at the Creekside Inn which I would also recommend for five weeks while my sister underwent Major Brain Surgery at Standford Medical Center and several weeks of at home recovery along with many follow up appointments . My sister has a two year old little boy that was also with us and the staff all loved him . They treated him with open arms every time they seen him coming through the door. Due to the fake covid pandemic Driftwood deli and market only has cold drinks and deli sandwiches there is really no market there they are selling nothing else so I left the store with nothing I went there for dog food and they had nothing except deli sandwiches and cold drinks
