The restaurant was clean with nice decor. The wait staffs were friendly and attentive. The beef noodle was quite nicely done, the beef, tendon and tripe were all very soft and flavorful. The soup itself was nice and very well balanced, although personally I preferred a stronger tasting soup. The tofu and century egg side dish was a bit cold, but the whole dish with the sauce was very nice. The milk tea was also smooth and perfectly made and well balanced, although I personally preferred a stronger tasting milk tea. I guess there is really nothing to pick on this restaurant, although I would have hoped for a more impactful experience.

Delicious bowl of beef noodle soup! Definitely one of the more flavorful soups in the Bay Area. Thin noodles were perfectly cooked, and the texture was amazing. Clean and nicely decorated interior, with fast and efficient service. Large parking lot, and located next to the Marina Foods Supermarket.

It feels like a nice restaurant in Taiwan inside. Chic and modern inside, clean, and has competent and friendly staff. Id continue to come here because its a pleasant place to meet with friends indoors. The beef noodle and chicken noodle were on the bland side for my Thai husband as there isnt much acidity but the flavor profile was familiar to the Taiwanese dishes I grew up with so I found them homey, though not particularly remarkable. The minced pork over rice dish was pretty good though!Tip: if you dont like spiciness from Chinese numbing spice, dont get spicy dishes here.

I had a tomato beef noodle soup and a oyster sauce vegetable. The noodle soup was above average but not really the best quality you’d expect. The vegetable didn’t taste very well since the sauce flavor was too strong. And the portion for the vegetable was small. Overall I think the noodle soup is worth trying.

I think the actual rating Id give is 3.5 as its alright but nothing special enough for me because it could be better.Although the restaurant came from Taiwan, the food is originally from Sichuan because the person who started it was from Sichuan who migrated to Taiwan. On the wall, there is an inscription detailing the history of the place, which I thought is pretty cool.The food of course is extremely Taiwanized as its not very spicy like what Id get in a proper Sichuan place and the 13 spices (the signature flavor) is definitely missing half of what Id normally associate with 13 spices.The noodle is alright but can be more chewy. The soup base is also alright but lack the authenticity. However, we must realize that Sichuan food in Taiwan really is so-so and my guess is that either Taiwan lacked the proper peppers or that the local people just cant take authentic Sichuan food.Therefore, Id recommend that you go in with the expectation that its Taiwanese noodle rather than Sichuan noodles.The reason why I chose to give it 3 stars instead of 4 is that they mess up simple dishes such as mixed tofu with thousand year eggs. Its such as a classic dish and there is absolutely no reason to mess it up with those drizzles.Service is good enough and courteous. The place is bright and clean.If you read my reviews you know I put a bigger emphasis on food than other non-essential stuff such as service or atmosphere, so I chose to give it 3 stars instead of 4. But if I could, Id give it 3.5 stars.

Went there on Monday after work. It wasn’t too busy. The dining experience was pretty good! Fast and kind service.The beef noodle was delicious! The flavor, meat, and tendons were all spot on. The chicken soup was also very good. The pork chop steak was probably the best I’ve had in the US.Strong recommendation!

This restaurant hails from Taiwan and specializes in Taiwanese beef noodle soup (though they have several other entree options ranging from pork chop fried rice to chicken noodle soup). The interior is very clean, bright, and spacious. Theres plenty of parking around.We ordered a beef noodle soup to share, as well as the chili wontons and braised assorted plate. The broth of the beef noodle soup was delicious, and the handmade noodles were very chewy. However, the portion size is fairly small; if youre hungry, its probably not enough food. The side dishes were tasty as well and filled us up. The milk tea is good quality.Overall, 5 stars for the taste/quality of the food but docked a star because the portion for the noodle soup is too small for the price.

We come to this place many times and this is the first time I try the different broths. The strewed beef noodle soup is not strong but when you taste the broth, it full of the original flavor of beef and a little bit herb. I love this.I will recommend you to order the flat noodles.

Very good beef noodle soup place with a ton of variety. Price point is a little higher than other places but the quality is pretty worth it. They offer combos as well which adds a tea and a side, but the sides are personal sized at best so its not worth the upgrade unless you plan on getting tea (there is a boba place in the same complex and a Mr. Sun down the road that are better for tea in my opinion).Can be busier on weekends and the parking situation is decent - just be careful not to park in a space that is claimed by one of the other businesses nearby.

I was here for lunch and let me tell you the aroma of spices that comes from this restaurant really makes you hungry. I wanted handmade noodles hence decided to go for dry beef noodles and extra spice was on the side. When you get your order try mixing it and you will get the aroma as the spices are getting mixed overall. Theres an option for a combo where you get a drink and a side dish. Here I ordered the cucumber pickle which was delicious. I loved the beef noodles with the handmade noodles. The portions are also good as sufficiently fulfilling and yet you dont waste it. I had green tea for a drink. The restaurant is spacious and has a unique aroma inside, service is great, the food came to our table in no time and I had an amazing experience here. Theres a big free parking lot available and this is close to Apple campus.

A nice place for beef noodle soup. It was busy on a Friday night, no doubt, but our group felt especially ignored. Two tables that sat after us ordered first, and they forgot 2/5 items we ordered.We had to ask for the check three times, giving about 5 minutes in between each time to try to be patient. Its not a great feeling having the waiter walk towards you and turn towards the table that arrived much after you to help them check out.Maybe come on a weekday night. ):

Had lunch on a Sunday. Clean and spacious restaurant. We ordered braised beef brisket noodle soup, beef shank noodle soup and shank tripe and tendon soup. The meet were soft and easy to chew on. Soup was delicious. We order non-spicy soup for the kids and they loved it. They really enjoyed the braised peanut and pickled cucumber. They also have milk tea and assorted drinks. Superb hot beef noodle soup. Broth, noodles and beef all fantastic quality and flavor. Decor is nice and service is fast and water refills are proactive and regular. A bit pricy and I wish serving size was bigger. That said, its a treat to eat here! Highly recommended.

New restaurant that opened right before Christmas. Seems they are still figuring it out. Ill update my rating if issues below improve.1. On the plus side the decor is nice and inside is new and clean.2. The waiters and staff are disorganized. It takes awhile to get your order taken, or to get the check, etc. Would be even worse when the inside is actually full. They need to fix their processes.3. The food itself is OK. The chicken noodles didnt look like the menu photo (boneless without an actual drumstick). The beef in the beef noodles was too thinly sliced for the price point. The large appetizer sampler looks wet and messy. The fried rice was good.4. Minor thing but their main door does not work, it is going to break soon the way its set up. Little details like this probably signal other attention-to-detail issues across the board.

Tips: Use their Waitlist tablet to check in and walk over to Marina Food while you wait (the market has lots of snacks to browse). During lunch time, I noticed customers are ordering to go; they were quoted 45 minutes pick up time.Service: Being the restaurant just opened, we understand there are more work needs to be done. It was our servers first day on the job. It did took 3 attempts to repeat our 4 bowls of noodles + three appetizers to get it into the handheld POS the server was using. Although an item was missing from our appetizers, every staff we encountered were very nice and friendly ⭐. Please anticipate this if you are dining here soon. BTW the handheld POS made getting the check easy and efficient. We pay at the table and sign at the POS.Food: Id like to break this down for you...(1) Food portion: The noodles bowl is not your typical Pho size bowl with lots of food. Tho, it was just right with a few appetizers added to our main entree. We found the Braised Dish Platter smaller than the picture advertised on the menu. Each item (tofu, seaweed, egg (one egg cut into half), beef trip, and tendon) is about 3-4 bites. We did ended up ordering two plates of the Braised Dish Platter for party of 4. Steamed vegetables plate is considered a single portion in my opinion. For a palm size steamed cabbage with braised sauce $5, we probably will skip this dish next time. PS: You can combo any of the noodles (price difference) and choose a small side dishes (size of a soy sauce ramekin) + a beverage.(2) Taste: Our party ordered Beef Noodle in Braised flavor and Mala Garlic flavor. They are all very good. We all agreed the broth is where the magic is! The beef shanks were bit firmer than expected but it was cooked evenly. The beef tendons were in large pieces as well. There are three types of noodles to choose from (thin, flat, and handmade) and we each got different kind. Note: the handmade noodle is like a sheet of lasagna noodles cut into large pieces. Chewy and floppy.Least favorite food: Wontons with Chili Oil sauce. The wontons were over cooked which caused the skin to fall apart. The chili oil was just right but salt was missing. It was just chili oil without seasoning.Our total bill was $100 with 4 noodles + 2 braised platter + chili wontons. Overall, the food was decent as there arent many decent beef noodle soup in the area. Most of the dishes are seasoned well though some felt their food overly salted (based on individual preference).

First time going here, my bf and I always love trying new restaurants and beef noodle is one of our obsessions. We got the Garlic Mala Beef Noodle with Tendon, the chili oil wontons, and wintermelon lemon drink. Very good! We had a great time at Duan Chun Zhen for lunch. The interior is nicely remodeled and the aromas of the food along with the music took me back to Taiwan.The food was excellent. We ordered: tomato beef noodle soup w/ shank and tendon, Chengdu fried egg noodles, red oil wontons. I would recommend getting the flat noodles and tendon only, but every other aspect of the meal was on point. Definitely recommend checking this place out.

Overall experience eating here was average. The soup was too light compare to the Duan Chun Zhen in Taiwan. The appetizer’s portion was very little and it did not have much flavor. To be honest, we ordered later than customers next table to us, but we got our food first, which is absurd. The wait time was quite long and the server kept forgetting to bring us water and soy sauce. We asked three different servers for the same thing. Oh and one last thing, we all think the food price is too expensive. $18 for a bowl of beef noodle soup! That’s more expensive than a very good Japanese ramen.

Ive been to this restaurant 3 times now and everything Ive tried has been delicious! Im particular, the beef in tomato broth is my favorite. The golden kimchi was not what I expected (was thinking the spicy Korean version) - it was closer to a pickled cabbage dish. But very yummy. The tofu with century egg appetizer is full of umami and the unexpected ingredients just work well together. My son likes their pork chop over fried rice. Id line to know their special recipe of spices that they use to marinate the pork chop because it has a complex flavor that I couldnt exactly figure out. A warm bowl of Taiwanese flavors with a Sichuan peppercorn kick. Prime cut of beef shank and tendon, well seasoned and braised to perfect texture. Handmade noodles are Pappardelle-like, broad and flat, although I think the thinner noodles go with the broth better. Taiwanese friend recommended this place to me, seems be a popular franchise back in TaiwanOrdered the 麻辣蒜味牛肉麵 with hand made noodles, and for the most part it was good. The broth was clean and flavorful, but it wasnt as aromatic or spicy as to justify labeling itself as 麻辣。Maybe this is the adaptation of 麻辣 in Taiwan after the rationing period?Im from 湖南，so it just didnt hit me as hard as Id hope, but I cant deny that it was comforting and tasty. The hand made noodles are definitely preferable to machine made as they tend to be a bit more QQ.My friend did note that her meats seasoning didnt quite permeate as much as her first time here, so there may be a bit of inconsistency.Still, seems like a clean and relatively tasty noodle shop. I never got around to trying this chain while I visited Taiwan but have heard great things about it, so when I was in the area today and saw this place was open I decided I must stop by. I got the traditional braised beef noodle (D3) and upgraded to a combo with pickled cucumber and plum juice, and oh how these brought back memories! Rather than calling this restaurant Taiwanese food (because Taiwanese cuisine has their own characters), I would describe this restaurant as a great example of food youd find Taiwan, with a flavor that is more reflective of an amalgamation of the diverse regional backgrounds that converged on the island than any particular regional cuisine. The braised beef soup noodles had less beef than most braised noodle soup places Ive tried but I thought the meat was well flavored. The soup had a little more of a herbal/medicinal flavor than I am used to tasting in a strictly Sichuan flavor palate, but since I usually enjoy that I have no issues here. The pickled cucumber was on the sweet side, which is actually close to how my grandma makes it, so I am not embarrassed to say the food made me very sentimental. The restaurant itself was well lit and clean, with tables comfortably apart (cant comment on the restroom since I didnt need to use it). Pricewise I thought it was fair for the area. I really look forward to coming back to try their other items. Granted I may be giving out points for nostalgia, but I can honestly say this meal made me very happy.

One of the worst stores I have ever been to. I have been there several times, and the store never fail to disappoint me. It takes them forever to deliver food, stuff comes up with nonsense excuses like too many take out orders and noodle processing takes time. But the fact is even people after me got food earlier than me.I would suggest anyone who want to try this store to think about it again. As a lifelong beef soup lover I am pretty disappointed for the hype. The broth tasted like the leftover soup base at a hotpot and they don’t give you a lot of noodles. Handmade noodle and beef are okay. 3/5Also had the chicken noodle and it was super diluted with no flavor. Not even joking my gf and I think we could make better chicken noodle soup…. Would not recommend if you really care about noodle soup. Perhaps my negative experience was because we went around 8 and noodle soup quality usually is the best fresh but still no excuse.

I was skeptical about this place based on earlier reviews. Decided to try it for lunch and boy was I surprised. Ordered the traditional braised half meat halt tendon beef noodle. The soup tastes exactly how I remember it was in Taiwan. Complex flavor of spices, a touch of spiciness and beefy soup flavor, complemented by big pieces of beef shank and tendon. Meat was cooked just right and the tendon was nice and soft. Noodles were cooked just right making this one great Taiwanese beef noodle. Will be coming back for more!

There are a lot of places around here that offer beef noodle soup. This is one of those places that does it right. The broth is really rich and flavorful. Where many places fall short is the meat. Not so here. The beef was very tender and the portions were good.The classic braised beef shank noodle soup is a little spicy, so be careful if you don’t like spice. The spicy and sour dry noodles were really good, though a tad too spicy for my tastes.I will say that the food is a little pricy for what you get, but the cost of living is high in this area, so it’s understandable.

Saw lots of ok reviews I feel I need to speak up — there are so many types of Taiwanese beef noodle soup, I do think they bring their version from Taiwan to here very well. Their taste is more modern in Taiwan, a good medium bodied broth with lots of spices. If you are looking for super old school of Taiwanese noodle soup — which is salty and oil, then this is probably not for you . Anyways. Every kind of beef noodle soup/stew variation you could hope for. The flavor and tenderness of the beef is the most special. The noodles and soup are good but nothing out of the ordinary.The price is a tiny bit on the higher side but still worth a try since its very likely youll be able to try something here that you cant elsewhere.The interior of the restaurant is new and very clean. As a taiwanese, Im very excited to see a taiwanese restaurant. Here are some bullet points.1. The restaurant decorations are quite new and bright as well. This makes the overall dining experience quite pleasant.2. The service is average, but serving speed is slower than I expected from a beef noodle soup store. There is a long line, so advice to others are using yelp app to get in queue if you plan to visit. This will save you time from waiting in line.3. For the food, the beef noodle broth itself is quite authentic. It has a rich flavor with a slight touch of chilly oil thats just about right. However, the beef is slightly overcooked, which leads to the dry texture and losing the beef flavor. The noodles are probably the worst part. Its either overcooked in the water, or taking too long to serve or the not making live. I honestly think the noodle texture is below average compared to other noodle restaurants.4. The appetizer braised platter is very authentic and delicious. I highly recommend this dish for others giving it a try.

Everything is fine but nothing is spectacular. The thickest noodle (hand cut noodle) is more reminiscent of pappardelle than Chinese noodles. The medium thickness noodle (they call that thick cut) wasnt above and beyond compared to shandong noodles that I can cook at home. The spice of the soup base while not hot, is so full of spice punch that it reduced the umami flavor of the beef soup. The original beef noodle soup was very flavorful, but the beef was on the dry side (it was overcooked/over-stewed) and quite bland.

1) Beef was too hard to chew and not edible. Soup was just ok and flavor is inconsistent. I ordered same soup base with my friend but tasted different.2) I was one of the first 3 groups seated on the date, however, I waited extra 30 mins for the noodle (from the time my friends order arrived) and was told that the noodle type I wanted was no longer available... My friends noodles were all cold by the time mine was ready. They literally forgot my order. Server should checked whether all meals for the table had arrived before clearing the checklist. The way they resolved the mistake was giving free drinks which were worth like $1. As someone who was a server, this was totally disappointing.

I have been a big fan for Beef noodle soup (my two sons included). Since Duan Chun Zhen Noodle house open at Cupertino. I cannot wait to give it a try. I have been traveling between Hsinchu and San Jose. I enjoy a lots of Duan Chun Zhen Beef noodle soup. But, the one at Cupertino is just as good that it bring the intrinsic Duan Chun Zhen flavor to Bay Area. Other than the beef noodle soup, I also try out their dumpling. It is a big surprise to me that it is the nothing like other dumpling I got from the store, it have lots of meat and great taste, especially very thin skin. You must to give it a try of this secret menu yourself. They also sold it as frozen dumpling as well. Highly recommended.

Ironically this is where the Ophelia was, which had the best beef noodle soup in town in my opinion. DCZ is good, but it represents more of the beef noodle soup from the pre-80s in Taipei, which the flavor is Carrie’s by the spicy oil/fat, as did in China. The two bowls of wide noodles I ordered were like this. I dont know if the braised noodles were left too long or on purpose.
