Since this is the only Chinese restaurant in the area, I understand the high reviews. The food was typical and dumplings well... they need tender care. I have lived in CH and TW and tasted good food....but Im still hunting for delicious dumplings in SF.

We final tried our neighborhood dumpling spot and it was excellent! The star of the show is the fried dumplings! A huge must!The flavors are spot on and you have to use the sauces...use the sauces!The interior decor is clean and well organized with plenty of tables.Recommend and will be back!

Delicious food! I personally don’t get too excited about most dumplings or noodles, but this place is an amazing exception. I love their food. Nice chill atmosphere and pretty view of the Laguna Honda hillside. They have nice & polite staff as well. I definitely recommend Dumpling Zone.

Hidden gem in plain sight! The food is world class. The XLB are very soupy and served at perfect temperature for a single bite. The beef noodle soup is the on point in flavor, the beef is soft, and the noodles are fresh, handpulled, and just right in texture. Pan fried pork buns are served piping hot and are crispy and delicious too. Im going to crave this place once a week and my go-to in SF now.

I just got back from Qingdao, land of famous dumplings… good time to compare!The fried dumplings are as good or better than I’ve had in China. A soft, crispy bottom paired with perfectly cooked wrapping, and rich, delicious filling.We got the crab and pork soup dumplings, and were surprised that it didn’t come with ginger automatically - turns out it doesn’t need it because they’re perfect as is. Ask for ginger if you want, but it doesn’t need it. 👌The fish dumpling meat was flawless. The wrapper texture was a bit sticky, but the flavor was amazing all around.This place definitely deserves its 4.9 rating, and I can’t wait to go back ✌️

Have been there twice and will be going back. Their dumplings are good - there are many places around here that are great at dumplings so it’s hard to stand out, but their dumplings don’t have skin that’s too thick, don’t rip when you lift them and have a decent amount of soup. The noodles are great especially the flavors in the chili oil noodle and I really want to try to hot and sour noodles but it’s always out of stock.Mostly I was very surprised at how much I enjoyed the black custard buns. Usually a restaurant is good at certain dishes but not others, but this place seems to be an all rounder.Slightly fewer stars on service as their self ordering system didn’t work and after a long time the waiter didn’t think it was weird that he hadn’t received our order yet, and didn’t think to check more diligently.Overall very pleased to have this gem in the neighborhood!

So happy to finally have a restaurant that is here to stay! The space has been occupied by a revolving door of failed restaurants. The XLB are super juicy and flavorful. My mom gave them a thumbs up which is saying a lot since XLB are a specialty from her hometown. The pan fried ones were great too. The noodles taste handmade - springy and irregularly shaped giving the noodles great texture. The sauces are perfectly spiced/seasoned. We’ve had several different noodle dishes. It definitely seems like the word is spreading around the neighborhood!

What a great neighborhood restaurant! The vegetarian dumplings are delicious. Ive been back several times just for those! Id come back even if I didnt live close by. Also enjoyed other dishes Ive tried, including the green beans, green onion pancakes, and chow mien. This is a small and cozy place with very friendly service. This is our new favorite Chinese restaurant.

Every XLB we tried was delicious, but we liked the spicy best. As others have said, the pan fried were unique but also quite sweet. Love the green beans.

Dumpling Zone just opened in my neighborhood and will be going back again and again. Fried Pork Bao was delicious as was the hot and spicy beef noodles! Thrilled to have this restaurant in the area!

I never make an effort to leave reviews, but I feel compelled to leave one here. Literally the best XLBs you’ll find in SF, hands down. I just came back from Taiwan, and the dumplings here rival what I had there. If you like XLBs (and at a reasonable price to boot), go to Dumpling Zone.

Haven’t seen a restaurant in the USA that sells xiao long bao with incredibly thin skin just like they make it in Hong Kong. Let alone being incredibly delicious - good amount of meat in each dumpling with tasty soup.If you LOVE truffle, you will like the truffle xiao long bao. The truffle taste is strong.Same thing with the crab dumplings - it has a very strong crab seafood flavor / lots of crab meat.This restaurant doesn’t skimp on flavor or technique.A very unassuming restaurant but 200% hidden gem. Would come back in a heartbeat.

My new favorite dumpling / dim sum restaurant in SF. Tastiest by far. Tons of great options. Family owned and they’re super kind.Try the Shanghai Pan Fried Bao, Xiao Long Bao, Chocolate Banana XLB, Black Lava Custard Bao, Siu Mai, Har Gow, and Stir-Fried Green Bean. My new favorite Chinese restaurant in San Francisco. When I said this to the waiter (who is from China) he gave me a look of surprise that seemed to communicate “girl, you haven’t seen the world - have you been to China? Or even South Bay?) lol. Seriously though, Dumpling Zone had some of the best soup dumplings I’ve ever had. An incredibly delicate, thin skin. The dough was smooth. The dumpling was filled with so much soup. The soup and pork filling was light and delicate in flavor. I also really love the pan fried pork chive and shrimp dumplings. They also had soup inside and a homemade dough with crispy pan fried skin. I can’t wait to go back and try more dishes from this place. The restaurant also had a nice local feel. Lots of tables seemed to know each other and were chatting with each other. The restaurant is right next to the forest hills muni stop which is so convenient. 10/10 recommend

I have been wanting to try this place since they opened and what a delightful treat. Everything was so fresh and delicious, I think they make their own chili oil because it just had this depth to it that was really nice and wasnt too spicy, but added a lot of extra flavor! We got a couple of their dumplings, our favorite were the spicy Xiao long bao! The soup inside was the best! We also loved their green onion pancake as it was just so crispy and had gorgeous layers, it was complimentary to the other dishes.Parking isnt the easiest, but not the worst. Definitely worth it and I will be coming back with friends.

This restaurant blew us away. Ordered takeout and were extremely impressed.- spicy XLB were really delicate and flavorful.- Shanghai pan fried pork buns were my personal favorite. Perfectly balanced.- shoutout as well to the shrimp pork and chives potstickers, really solid.The green onion pancake and chow mein were pleasant surprises but this place is about the dumplings.We were told the food would take 30 minutes and it was ready in 20.Such a great addition to the neighborhood. We will be eating here often.

Really delicious dumplings. We had the spicy soup dumplings, the mix of spicy and sweet balanced each other out nicely, and a generous amount of soup in each dumpling. The Chongqing noodles has a wonderful Szechuan broth to it, I was expecting them to be dry, but enjoyed the broth. The bok choy also full of flavor and very tasty. Friendly service. The location can be hard to get to, but well worth it to visit.

Saw this opened in the neighborhood so had to give it a try! Ordered an assortment of appetizers, dumplings and noodles. The noodle texture was great (home made). The xlb and sheng jian bao were juicy and had good flavor. Going to make this a regular spot!

Dumpling Zone with Eddy quarterbacking strikes several touchdowns in the Forest Hill Dewey end zone. Pan fried Pork baizi bun surprises with mouthwatering soup tantalizing. Shandong styled xiaolong dumplings besting Shanghai. Noodles with chewy goodness in every bite and fresh veggies too. Gots to go back to sample each dish for my cravings or you go and report your impressions.
