Dig the fresh Donuts at Dunlap! The best in Santa Cruz, huge maple bars dripping with icing, fresh puffed glazed, big enough for that burger cheese and bacon, decadent cake donuts with sprinkles nuts and sweet icing, excellent buttermilk and ole fashion with thick glaze and crispy edges. You may have to wait in a short line. Coffee is to die from Santa Cruz Roasting. Right on the corner of Portola and 38th Avenue.

If youre on the point at 7AM, grab some donuts from Dunlaps. Get there early because they do sell out. They have specialty donuts and breakfast sandwiches. Some of the friendliest people youll ever meet, local or not.

Love this place. All the donuts are incredible! Recently they started doing Mochi donuts, I believe Mon-Fri. They are so freaking GOOD. Everyone that works there is incredibly friendly and no matter how busy they are, they dont make you feel pressured to pick ASAP. Best. Prices. Ever. Get incredible donuts and service every single time.

The worst donuts Ive ever had, I have no idea why these are so popular. They are super bland, the old fashioned tasted like old oil and the pig in a blanket uses cheap American cheese (the plastic rubbery stuff). The donut holes werent even good. I literally had to spit everything out after trying it, tasted too gross

One of the few decent doughnut shops in SC.They have the usual assortment with a sampling of oversized or novelty doughnuts (frosted with various breakfast cereals sprinkled on top) on the weekends.The store interior continues the tradition of the previous owners of neglecting the interior of the store completely.The crowd is a little odd as well with some old timers having their morning coffee and doughnut, some local surfers, and a few homeless guys who literally stink the place up.But if youre just looking for a doughnut to go its a solid choice.

Great donuts. I looked at reviews and pictures ahead of time. Went in trying to limit myself to a dozen, but knowing I would fail. Sure enough once I got in there, everything looked so good and I ended up with almost 2 dozen.Got a few typical donuts, (chocolate and maple bars, glazed, sprinkles, twists, ...), got a cinnamon roll, and had to get a few cronuts as well. Everything was great. The whole family loved everything.The staff was nice and friendly as well.Think I need to come back here whenever Im in Capitola.

This is probably the best donut shop I have ever been to. I picked out way more donuts than I needed, but then I saw that they had cronuts. I thought, “Oh no, what do I do? I’ve already ordered more than we can possibly eat.” But then...I saw that they had cronut holes! They were 8 for a dollar and incredibly delicious. I’m not sure how California can have the country’s most expensive gas and tobacco while still having totally affordable donuts, but it is what it is and I’ll take what I can get. I don’t think I’ll ever go to Santa Cruz again without coming here.

Fact: they sell out by noon. Not just once in awhile. But every. Frkn. Day.Enough said?I went to get an apple fritter at 830am on a Saturday and they had already sold out. Thats not what theyre even famous for, the croughnuts are. Its a must try.Family owned -- go support them. ❤️💯

Been driving by this place for years and never stopped. Finally decided to buy some treats for the guys at work, great donuts and excellent coffee for taking on the road. Clean place, lots of parking and the staff are very friendly people. Im gonna be a regular at this place.

These are the biggest donuts Weve ever eaten! Maple bars are huge and delish. Very happy with our dozen mixed. Custard donuts...huge and filled with yummy custard. Very good coffee too!

The ice cream sandwiches were incredible and if I could is eat themfor the rest of my life, sadly didnt make it there till a little before closing but everything still wad so fresh. The best donuts. Im picky. If Im going to eat a donut it better be bomb. They make their donuts fresh and crispy. I made the mistake one morning of trying out farewells. I ended up back at Dunlaps with a bag of two soggy farewells donuts. I marched to the trash and threw them away. I said I was sorry for thinking all donut stores were alike. Now I dont waste time I go straight to Dunlaps the first time. The best.

Dunlaps Donuts is awesome. Great apple fritters, creatively topped/frosted normal donuts, solid breakfast sandwiches, and a very friendly staff. Its also just up the street from Pleasure Point, so its perfect for a pre- or post-surf donut.

Oh, how I love Dunlaps. I’m a former SC resident turned NYC resident but I chose to have my wedding in Capitola as it is awesome. We decided to have a dessert bar instead of a wedding cake so we spent days around Santa Cruz looking for the best cakes, cookies and DONUTS! We actually tried every donut place in SC County, even Psycho Donuts in Cupertino. We are absolute donut snobs, didn’t like any of the donuts EXCEPT for the ones at Dunlaps. We fell in love with their Maple Bacon donut especially. It is the best we’ve ever had. We were so happy using Dunlaps for our wedding dessert bar. They were easy to order ahead and they were ready on time.
