Echizen Japanese Restaurant in Cypress

Came here on weekday for lunch special $14 Tuna Bowl with my elderly mom. Lots of people there for lunch. Saw few Japanese there to dine in so must be authentic. Tuna Bowl also came with some side dishes and miso soup. Food served fast and $14 included tax that is a bonus.

Wow!!! One of the best meals Ive had in the past few years!!! Amazing quality good, everything. The udon was seriously one of the best Asian noodle soups of any kind of my entire life. What a lovely family owned business and cute vibe, including outdoor dining with heaters. Highly recommend for dinner!

A hole in the wall Japanese restaurant. Very good food. Most of the items on the menu are little dishes. Perfect for sharing. And paired well with some beer.Food comes out slowly so be patient.Service can be a bit slow when its busy.Be sure to come early this place gets busy. So be prepared to wait.

Excellent place for authentic Japanese food. I felt like I was back in Tokyo at some small eatery. Youll find dishes here you wont find at any other Japanese restaurant. Only drawback is the small dining room but worth the wait.

Kitchen is open line so everyone can see, head cook constantly drinks on the job and based on other peoples reviews it seems like he is often drunk while working. He is also distracted by watching TV while working the line, not to mention his verbal abuse to the servers, overall hostile work environment. I ordered beef guts with veggies but was only served the veggies, I had them fix it but they ended up letting me know that the protein for that dish ran out so I order the beef tongue. They should have told the customer that a dish is not available rather than wasting the customers time! It took a very long time for them to start firing up the beef tongue and when they did, they rushed it so much that its very raw. Im not talking about seared and rare, it was raw and tough, barely any sear on it because the pan didnt seem hot enough. Upon getting home, I started getting stomach aches and diarrhea. They should not be serving food to the public.

Always loved this place and it never disappoints. The staff and owner are fantastic! The food is great, havent tried anything I didnt like. Cant wait to be back!

I was impressed with the simplicity and humility of this place when i first walked in for an impromptu dinner with my wife.The dishes were authentic, flavorful and impressive. I cant wait to come back and try the others on my next visit.どうもありがとうございますとってもおいしいでした

Authentic Japanese cooking. Probably, last one available in Cypress. Ive been looking for such place mostly in Torrance or West L.A. but never expected to find this in Cypress. I had braised fish lunch today, and Im definitely coming back for Tendon or grilled Saba/mackerel.

I am not Japanese food lover, but this restaurant returned customer every few months. Lunch menu price increased a little bit, but still very reasonable.
