Picked up a to go order from here for my family and was incredibly happy with the food. We tried quite a few different things but the sesame chicken and the chow mein were our favorites. The price was great for the amount of food we got and the lady working was very nice and helpful while also handling the guests eating in the restaurant. Will definitely be returning to try more of the menu

Best salt and pepper pork chop Ive ever had. My previous favorite was in south san jose and the head chef retired years ago. Ive been searching for another place for years and this is the best Ive had in 10 years. If you like beer try their salt and pepper pork chop

Decent for a basic American Chinese lunch. Food was fresh, prices were cheap, parking a plenty.Some notes:They have a tiny parking lot behind the restaurant but a lot of people living in the apartments behind them use it so its always full even if the restaurant is empty. Theres plenty of street parking in the day. Some people are saying its not a great neighborhood to park in. Its fine on the main street. Just be smart and hide valuables.They have a lunch menu for during the week, and you get soup, salad, your main dish and choice of white rice or fried rice.Staff are friendly and refill waters regularly. Or maybe I just went on a really slow day haha.Overall if youre in the mood for some broccoli beef or sweet and sour prawns or another American Chinese dish, theyre great prices for lunch. All under $10. Huge portions.

Lunch Special was amazing. Soup and salad was great. Kung Pao Chicken was the best in Santa Clara. Fried rice was perfect and they put nice amount of chicken and sauce with it. My daughter ordered Lemon Chicken. Hers was wonderful as well. One of my favorite places to go from now.

I ordered shrimp fried rice and once it was delivered I discovered I only had about 5 shrimp. I called the restaurant and I was told that the shrimp fried rice only comes with 6 shrimp. This is a big size amount of rice. I’m not ordering from this place again because in what world do you specifically count 6 shrimp to toss in shrimp fried rice.

Surprisingly delicious little chinese restaurant hiding on West San Carlos! Combo fried rice was perfectly al dente and seasoned, and we loved the walnut shrimp (though you may not like it if you dont like thick breading).Lastly, their chicken was extremely tender and juicy.

The best!! Very clean place with very good delicious food. We had Orange Chicken, Mu Shu Pork, Ma Po Tofu, Stir Fried String Beans and Mixed Vegetable. The young lady at the restaurant was very nice. I’ll definitely come back again if I ever in the area.

This place has really great old school American Chinese food. What I especially like is that they use high quality meats - tender and tasty instead of that game-y chewy meat that a lot a places serve. Really great egg rolls too and the hot mustard is terrifically hot. Pick up your order instead of using a delivery service so everything is hot and fresh, its so much better that way.

Super delicious food! Love their vegetable fried rice! It reminds me of Chinese food on the east coast :). The restaurant is also really beautiful on the inside, with pretty anthuriums and orchid plants, and they provide excellent service. They also gave me a fortune cookie at the end of my meal!

Our family 3 big eaters went here for lunch in Saturday. We ordered the Family Gourmet Dinner for 3. It was $19 per person, but more food than we could eat. There was enough food for a healthy size meal for 1 to take home.Food was very tasty & large portions. The biggest drawback is the neighborhood is old and a bit sketchy, not place to go after dark. We also ordered water and it had a funny taste to it, but that may be because I am used to filtered water.All in all a great food.

Food is excellent. Actually went here on Mothers Day because most restaurants was crowded. 4 of us dined with 6 entrees and the bill was $100 including tip with leftovers to bring home.

If you miss New York City-style American Chinese food, this is the place for you. But my memories of this style of Chinese food were far better than the reality.I had the Egg Foo Yung. Instead of having the meat inside the omelet, they gave a stew to put on top of the omelet. The omelet itself seems pre-made and reheated. So I was disappointed.

Love it! They are back. I thought they moved somewhere far, but they are still here in San Jose. Just a new location. I was so sad when I found out they weren’t on Lincoln Ave anymore. I love their food! This is the only Chinese Restaurant I like going to ever since my boyfriend took me here actually they are number on my list and number is Evergreen Panda.

Worst Chinese food ever. I wish there was a star lower than one. I arrive order food not even 3 minutes later she says order ready like I was given someone elses order.I arrive to my job to see the most blain and weird smelling king poa chicken I have ever tasted in my life. NEVER again will I visit any of your establishments. Everything about my meal tasted old and like they are selling 3 or 4 day old food that they keep in a warmer. The only thing that was even slightly prepared this day was maybe the rice. But please dont take your chances on this place waste of time and money. Just hoping from the bites I took that I dont get food poisoning from eating at such a low class establishment.

We loved Edna Ray in Los Gatos and Willow Glen. We were so sad when they retired last year. Saw the article that a younger family member reopened the business in San Jose on San Carlos. We were thrilled and tried it tonight.We were disappointed and hope its growing pains. I hope the niece will talk to her elders about their recipes. Tonight our Edna Ray Chow Mein had a hint of a burnt taste and the sweet and sour pork was over cooked and beyond crunchy. The combination rice was close to what the original owner did and the Peking chicken was nicely prepared. Since they have only been open 5 months we will try again in a month. We wish them well and hope to up our review to 5 stars soon.Update one month laterAs promised we went back to Edna Rays today.In our opinion they are up and running and the four dishes that we ordered were excellent and up to par with what we remember from their Willow Glen and Los Gatos restaurants.As long as the food is fresh, hot and well prepared with the original recipes we will be back on a regular basis. Nice small Chinese restaurant. Parking can be a hassle. There is few parking spaces in the back. Otherwise need to find street parking. Service was quick and good. There are quite a bit of choices on the menu. Food taste good too.
