It hasnt changed. Same great taste and talk about the huge burritos!! They have tejuinos too 😋 just need to call before to order. For safety and their safety but it doesnt take long to get your order ready. I been coming here for years now. Then I stopped because of the diet lol. Today I decided to treat myself. Never disappoints. 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The person at the front counter spoke primarily Spanish and spoke broken English, which made ordering difficult. This is only a problem for those who dont speak any Spanish, such as myself. I ordered 2 chili rellenos burritos with chips and guacamole. The bill came out to over 40 dollars, and the food was not good at all.

Great food but this past few times Ive been disappointed with the wait times. I call before hand to make an order. The lady in the front gives me an estimated time of 20 min I get there 20 min later just like she said and I come to find out my order is still in the queue. I have a 30 min lunch break from work and I still gotta drive 5 min here and 5 back. That leaves me with a 20 kin window to eat. Ive had to wait an extra 20 to 25 waiting for my order at tye restaurant. The lady need to be more precise she does thus everyday for a living youd think she would be great at it.

El Chilito is a little hole in the wall in Downey,CA. It may be small but this place serves some of the best Mexican food around. The rice is traditional Mexican with all the right ingredients. Soft and moist. The beans are slow cooked and taste great! Enchiladas,tacos, sopes,chili Verde, carnitas, carne asada are all delicious. I have never tried the mariscos here. The food is fresh and worth trying. Its not cheap though. You get what you pay for.

The food is quite good and they make it very quickly. The prices fluctuate and its hard to pin down what they might be charging, and make note that they do charge a small fee for using a credit card (I believe its about $0.50). Its a little pricey, but the food is well made and yummy. The food does travel well in terms of taste... But its not always packaged well too go... Many times youll end up with a mess of sauce and beans all over everything inside the bag. If that doesnt phase you, then definitely recommend this place, since the food is worth it.

My family frequents this place quite often.Our go to is the big wet burrito, it is so big it feeds like 3 people. I mean my husband can probably finish it by himself but it is just massive.Aside from being absolutely huge it is very delicious. We always order chicken, and the chicken is always fresh and tasty.You can save yourself some time by placing a phone order and picking it up twenty minutes later.The location is very small and the parking lot is a bit tricky but once you get the hang of it its not so bad.I would absolutely recommend!

Ive been eating here for 5 years. Im not a weekly regular or anything like that, but I do know that they have delicious tacos de carne asada, also sometimes during the cooler months they have champurrado that is the absolute bomb. Yes they charge you for extra salsa and there is a fee for using a card which is no surprise, but the food is worth it. The place is clean and the food is always fresh. And if its not fresh they simply apologize for not having it and they dont sell it to you.and yes sometimes they might be watching the soccer game or the play offs, but they are speedy and friendly. Pay the extra buck get your tacos, salsa and chips and enjoy!

Little whole in the wall with great Mexican style breakfast, tacos, burritos and some seafood dishes. Currently only take out or delivery available. Food is tasty like spicy salsa get the red one👍 Specialty in the menu is there super burrito with meat of your choice feed 4-6 peeps or if you are brave enough to take on the whole thing👍Closed on Tuesdays learned the hard way🤣 always love coming in when they are opening and the smell of freshly cooked Asada opens up your appetite.

Unimpressed with my experience at El Chilito. They charged almost $16 for a single fried fish burrito. There was no crunch to the fried fish. Instead, it had a mealy, grainy texture and the fish flakes were falling apart into a mushy mess. The other burrito contents didnt mix well either. Instead of adding lettuce, tomato, sour cream, salsa, and other ingredients that would go well with fish, it was filled instead with red hot sauce, rice, and beans. All that did was make the burrito unnecessarily spicy and contribute to the mushy taste. The burrito was filling and they didnt skimp on the fish, so Ill give them that. Overall, I dont think this place specializes in seafood (a fish burrito wasnt technically on their menu, I had to ask for it), so perhaps Im being too harsh. In any case, I wouldnt come here again.

Its a small little restaurant, but dont let the size fool you. The food is excellent fresh and delicious. If you want typical Mexican food made with quality ingredients this is your take out place because theres no seating available. Definitely worth checking out.

It is better than average. Close to homemade food.But, they still dont get it, cooks preparing food without gloves on. 12/23/2020 record breaking numbers in LA county... deaths, confirmed cases and hospitalizations. Not coming back until this pandemic is behind us.Food its really good but, if the cooks are contagious my covid19 symptoms maybe be just as good.I hope the owner reads this and do something about it.Im trying to support our local businesses but, I will not if doing so puts me at a higher risk.

Food was great. Its been a while since I found a Mexican hole in the wall. People complain about being charge for additional hot sauce but this place has legit sauce, in most places its free but watered down or simply missing ingredients but they keep it 💯Hardly any seats to eat so anticipate that if you plan to dine. Overall, this place has both quality and quantity, therefore prices are reasonable in my opinion.

Chilaquilles were not very flavorful and they were too spicy. It seemed like the sauce was added after the plating. They were a bit cold. Beans, rice and flour tortillas were very tasty. My order was not correct. I ordered scrambled eggs with one of the chilaquilles orders but, received easy over. Chille rellenos were decent. Over all the main items on the plate were a bit bland. Almost ordered guevos rancheros but I was told they came with scrambled eggs only. Not saying they were terrible just not too great.

I have gone here a few times and my go to food item here of late is the wet super burrito. A few guys from work got this for lunch one day and let me try it. This is what you call a SUPER Burrito. This thing is huge! I can make four meals out of it. and its pretty good too. You can call it in or just go in and order. The parking can sometimes be bad and sometimes people park like idiots, making it worse. It is in a small shopping center.

I heard about their famous Super Burrito from a co-worker. After procrastinating, I finally gave it a try. And I was glad that they made a vegetarian version of it. We had the best pastrami pizza ever! The crust is crunchy on the bottom and thinner. The edges are fluffy and cooked to perfection. BUT... The toppings are the star! The pastrami pizza has mustard, pickles, and pastrami. It was delicious. I have never had this on a pizza before.

Everything my family ordered was really good. This is an authentic spot!! I had the nachos. They come with a side of red and green salsa and they r both delicious i used both on my nachos. Been going off & on for a while. Went today to get chicken nachos & it was HORRIBLE!!!! They used to have chunks of chicken but now the chicken looks chopped; hardly any on there. Ridiculous. And they wanna charge $10???? I also bought a carne asada burrito for someone. My total bill for JUST those 2 items was $20.08. AND, they want to charge for me using my card. Wow! They say hole in the wall eateries are the best well this one is a gem. Food is delicious! My favorite Garlic Shrimp aka Camarones Al Mojo De Ajo are perfectly cooked and delicious...I have ordered this dish at many restaurants and none compare. One of my all time favorite Tacos al Pastor. The meat is tender and well seasoned. It comes with a salsa roja on top, but my fave way is to add their Pico de Gallo to the taco too. Their Salsa Verde goes well on the al Pastor as well. Salsas are distinct, bold, and spicy. You can get that warm happy feeling inside just from their Salsa, meat notwithstanding. If you like Tacos al Pastor, do yourself a favor and check this place out.
