Food was ok. I had two taquitos and they had no flavor. Beans and rice were good at least. Tostada was good. My wife had the chile rellenos which were good.

Ive been here over 8 times now! Every visit is a treat for my taste buds, and my favorite dish is hands down the arroz y pollo. The salsa is fantastic and spicy, which adds an extra kick to every bite. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and they make me feel like a valued guest every time I visit. The atmosphere is casual but it is truly a gem.

Fabulous and flavorful food. Everything I’ve had is excellent but I keep coming back to their carnitas. Order them crispy for an extra treat.Lard is prominently used - enjoy the flavor! It’s why the beans are delicious. The rice is delicious. Damn you guys. Even the usually forgettable sides are excellent.Don’t fill up on the chips and salsa!

Been coming here for three years straight during our vacation in LA. Very consistent and haven’t had a bad thing on the menu. Their Arroz con Pollo is what keeps me coming back though! Big portions, decently priced and ample seating in the “parking lot” ;)We’ve stopped before our trips to Disneyland and knotts Berry farm to game plan and fuel up beforehand. Definitely hit this spot up!

We had to wait for 20 minutes at around 6 pm. Its location is in a secluded area from main streets. The atmosphere makes you feel like somewhere in Mexico. The food and the prices were well worth waiting for. I particularly liked their spicy salsa. It was quite different than anything I had tasted before.

Love this place. Family favorite, and we have very picky young ones. I knew it would be a hit the first time we came as soon as I saw the rice...if the rice is good, the rest of the food should be spot on. The beef taquitos are almost as fat as me - they are so stuffed with delicious shredded beef. My husband loves the shrimp dishes, and they are not tight with the shrimp. Good service, chill spot, great food.

Ive been coming for years as a kid to adolescent. Recently I brought my girlfriend and shes brought her parents, siblings and friends. The food is good, the atmosphere is like a traditional Mexican restaurant setting and the warm hospitality we get from Arturo is great!! He treats us good and always have a good laugh or story to be told. I recommend this restaurant if your ever in the neighborhood or just want to enjoy a good Mexican delight.

Hands down my favorite enchiladas in OC. The rice is light and fluffy, beans are creamy and flavorful. Sauce and tortilla are perfectly cooked. Salsa has a nice kick to them. I just ate here the other day and I’m craving for them already. Service is fast and friendly. The margaritas are refreshing but on the light side of alcohol. There is always a wait. It’s a local spot and people from the neighborhood are always there. My best friend moved to Westminster/Huntington Beach area and still come here for enchiladas.

Had a birthday brunch for my Grandmother here. Every dish was fantastic, service was great even though it was a bit busy, portions were large, and the temperature was comfortable with the heaters even though it was rainy outside. We tried the breakfast enchiladas, bacon & eggs, chilaquiles, and chorizo w/ potatoes.

My hubby has been coming here with his family for decades already now. He and his father swear by the carnitas platter. I personally think their shrimp plates are incredible. Lots of kid friendly options. Outdoor seating during the summer months might be much but in the spring and fall are incredible. We love coming here and I would leave a 5 star review every time we came here if I could.

Wait time (in a covered seating area) was not long at all for a Saturday lunch hour rush, food was delicious. The 4 of us total was less than the cost of my wife and I alone at a national wings chain the night before. Service was polite and courteous. Food arrived quickly and in good portions. We are visiting from the East Coast and this place was Highly recommended. After experiencing it ourselves I completely agree.

This restaurant is almost always packed. Its been around for decades, has an extensive menu of delicious, authentic Mexican dishes with very generous portions. Come hungry! The wait staff is always hustling to keep the expansive number of tables well tended. Parking close can be hard, but there is plenty of parking within a very short walk. Prices are a good value for the money.

This is a small restaurant hidden from main streets. The food is very good. Too much food per order, in my opinion. This last time I shared with my wife, and both my kids shared a plate. Prices are low in my opinion. I am glad to have found this place. Whenever were having trouble deciding where to eat we always agree on Farolitos.Give it a try.

Everything is homemade. Their salsa definitely has a kick but it’s incredible. My favorite is the green sauce over red but both are incredible. The asada burritos is finely chopped tender steak. The Flautas are FILLED with meat and again homemade and so delicious! The way their cheese is melted is so yummy and just one of my favorite Mexican spots! You can always count on nothing but the best every time you come. Worth the wait if you don’t have a reservation!

The food turned out to be delicious. Not sure what they did to it but the food was really good. The service was not that great. It felt like it took at least 20 minutes for the table to get refills on their drinks. They messed up on a couple of orders but made up for it by replacing the orders for free. Parking was a nightmare. But once you got your food and drinks it was all good. The salsa and the chips that you get in the beginning are also very delicious. I would definitely go back. But I wouldnt make it a regular thing. Once again parking is a nightmare

Our hunt for a great local, Mexican restaurant near Brea continues. El Farolito didnt tick all the check boxes.Nice service, good people, seems popular with the locals but we felt that the food was mediocre. Salsa tasted like it was made from canned tomato sauce. Chips were fresh. Pork was fresh but seemed just a bit overcooked. We came with great expectations but fell short.

The food was OH SO GOOD!! Has that sabor casero (homemade taste). It is VERY worth the hour drive from Los Angeles. The cheeseless nachos were so good. The meat was very flavorful. The Enchiladas Verdes were very good as well. The portions are huge. I cant remember our servers name but he was super friendly and attentive. I could keep going!! El Farolito is a hidden jem found in Placentia serving up large portions of good Mexican food.This restaurant was once a house with an extended canopy that was the backyard. The place is clean, the staff are friendly, and prices are fair.We had the machaca with carnitas and chilaquiles with green sauce. Both came with rice and beans, but recommend asking for light or no cheese. Cheese aside, the food was great and completely forgot to take pics.If you have trouble finding parking on the street, there is a dedicated parking lot about a block down from the restaurant.

This is the original El Farolito and there are NO other locations or offshoots. It can get super busy, so consider going at an off hour.

I dont know maybe just me, but you can tell its legit right when you walk in.I ordered the cinnamon coffee, chicken quesadilla (my friends order across from me in the photo was the breakfast enchiladas), and a cup (small bowl) of menudo.The cinnamon coffee wasnt sweetened but it didnt need to be -- it wasnt bitter at all, and the cinnamon wasnt overpowering either.The chicken quesadilla was a bit oily but otherwise quite good.Now. This was my first time trying menudo (purely due to not knowing it existed until recently, forgive me) so maybe I dont know better or worse but. This. This is the one, yall. This stuff is SO, SO GOOD. If youre like me and love squishy things like tripe, which is in it, youll love this too! I havent been this blissed out on a single dish in a long time and I am a picky eater. PLEASE for your own good try it!!Will be back with my family for sure!!

It tends to be a bit crowded, but we would be happy to eat their food sitting on the curb. Food is always great, section of food is great, and the service is great. Ever is made with love here. The price is fair and the portions are large. It has expanded into the parking lot since covid, so there are more tables now. The prices are fair and the quality makes up for the not super cheap price. They made our food so fast! I barely had time to sip my water! The chips and salsa were great because you can tell they make their own chips. Oh and the salsa is very spicy!Just so you know, only the first basket of chips / salsa is free. My Aunt brought me here, it’s some of the best Mexican food I have had in a long time! I miss California Mexican food. In Las Vegas good Mexican food restaurants are few and far between. I got the Mama’s plate and chose a bean tostada and chicken taquitos. Soooo good! The chips are freshly made and the salsa is spicy goodness. For me, the beans make or break it, the beans were awesome! We arrived a bit early like 4:00pm and was seated right away, by 5:00 there was a line and the place was packed!

My family and I had a surprise birthday party for my son. It was quite a large party I think 13 or 14 to be exact anyways the food was amazing as usual the margaritas were amazing as usual the prices are unbelievably affordable, but the one thing that stands out above and beyond all that is my server that I adore, and her name is Brenda, exclamation you can’t beat the impeccable perfection every single time we go there . She is one of the best I’ve ever dealt with in my life and I have a Restaurant background for 25 years. I ran one, so you Gotta know I am saying this with all the authority! Brenda is amazing and exceptional, and a wonderful addition to my fine dining experience every single time! Its family owned and it shows.One of the few restaurants I visit where I order at least 6 to 8 things on the menu. Try the fried shrimp, the carnitas is the bomb and their enchiladas Verdes are a delight.Be prepared to wait as theres most often a line.... El Farolito has a large following for a good reason.

Only in town for a night, I wanted to find the best Mexican food in Placentia. While I cant compare to other restaurants in the area, I can say that this place is fantastic. After finding the counter to order my take-out, I had a 10 minute discussion with one of the owners who was just such a pleasure to talk to. Once she told me that her favorite dish was the enchiladas, and that she made them from scratch every day, I was sold. I had one chicken and one carnitas. They were served on a VERY large plate with rice, beans, cheese, and verde sauce piled up high. While I was not able to come close to finishing it, the enchiladas were absolutely amazing, the beans were smooth and very tasty, and the rice was the perfect side to balance it out. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Atmosphere is decent but the food is awful. This place has been around for fifty years and it seems like theyre still using only the ingredients that were available fifty years ago. Not authentic. Not good quality. Just bad. Place was really busy and the wait was really long and its not worth it at all. The only thing I have to complain about is that sometimes when they are busy, they forgot a side of sour cream but its a tall order when my buddy always asks for no sour cream. But the food... the rice and beans are by far the best Ive ever had. The enchiladas ranchero is what I got...twice. Their orchata is amazing! And yes, they have coffee de ollja (Mexican coffee with cinnamon). But let me save the best for last...their desserts! So this place has at least two overflow parking lots, you would think it must be really good if that many cars are parking here. I ordered shrimp enchiladas off the daily specials, unfortunately I am not impressed. Been coming here since I was a child and I still continue to come here as an adult. Best Mexican food ever! The wet shredded beef burrito especial is my favorite! The staff are very friendly people! Also, the cooks know how to cook! Everything is good there !

I already posted a detailed review of this restaurant. The 5 stars were for food. It isnt a chic about town restaurant, but small family business thats been serving honest Mexican food for over 100 years. Try it, youll like it!

Great food, and wonderful friendly service - well worth the wait.I know why they always seem to have people waiting to get in!Things have changed a bit since the Pandemic - but not the food, Service and atmosphere. Those are thriving as usual at El Farolitos! In fact the outside seating has become a great atmosphere for dining (decor and spaced seating is refreshing).

This place is the best. Always good, prices are reasonable (but increasing like most places). I was a bit sad to see that they charge for additional appetizer chips now, and my tampiquenas plate was not quite as good as the other times Ive had it (meat was a bit over cooked), but it was still fantastic! Their beans alone are worth coming for, but everything I have tried (Ive been here around 10 times) has been excellent. Ill be back (of course)!

Breakfast enchiladas and a must with large portions. Cafe de olla is really good. Were here on the weekends often.
