If you have to wait for your food, it will be worth it! The ingredients are incredibly fresh and delicious. Tortillas are prepared in houseI had the chicken enchiladas and a fried fish taco. Both were wonderful, the fish excellently cooked, soft chew in the tortilla, fresh salsa and creamy guacamole. The enchiladas are rich and filling with luxurious mole sauce. All good flavors

This spot is an elevated down home spot. It had been a while since we had been here and were quickly reminded how awesome the food is here! We had the chicken enchiladas, fish tacos and the nachos. The chips are huge and full of flavor. Get the guac too!

I was told to visit this place when visiting the Sonoma area. The food was possibly the best Mexican food I’ve ever had, and I’ve eaten some high-quality food of this culture. You can tell everything is made from scratch, including the tortillas. The tamale was stuffed with beautifully roasted pork, simply spectacular! Absolutely fantastic experience, with wonderful people, and a very clean environment, even though you will be eating in a very casual setting. I wish this place were available near me even though we have a place called Mexican town in Metro Detroit, which has great food, but not as good as this little venue.

Went here after a wine tasting because our server recommended it and it was very good. Was interesting to read the Michelin Hidden Gems article on this while we waited for our food. I loved the fresh chips and salsa while we waited as well. We had the chicken enchiladas and they were wonderful, I loved the black refried beans which felt unusual but a welcomed choice

I can’t believe it’s taken me this long in life to try El Molino Central. Absolutely delicious! We ordered the chicken chalupas and the mixed ceviche, so fresh and so good. Spacious patio outdoors to eat and hang in the warm weather.

You have got to stop by here! Worth the tricky parking.This is one of my favorite local spots. When I first moved to Sonoma years ago, a friend picked up one of their Mole Enchiladas take-aways and it was the perfect welcome back to Sonoma meal.Not only is the food always delicious, as a neighbor I love driving by and seeing the colorful and playful sign and building art.The one thing that stops me from going more often is the tricky parking. Although they have a new lot so Ill have to drop by soon and check it out.

Little side of the road place in Sonoma with outdoor seating. Food was absolutely amazing and definitively the best refried beans Ive ever had. I went with a breakfast plate (pic) and the sauce on the chips was very tasty, but my wifes chicken mole enchiladas was also delicious. Staff was friendly and fast, and the chef was happy to talk to my wife about his spices. Lots of local families eating here so you know it was good.

What a sweet place! Friendly staff, lovely atmosphere, quick service and cute restaurant. Food tasted very fresh and flavorful. I couldn’t get enough of the pickled slaw. The birra tacos and chicken enchiladas are an absolute must. Can’t wait to come back to this place. Highly recommend.

Love this place! We always try to stop in and eat when in the area. I usually get the Chicken Enchiladas Suizas, love the sauce, cheese combo with chicken that is super tender. These enchiladas have a lot of flavor. The beans are unique and very good as well. I also like the side salad thats with it to break up the richness of the enchiladas every so many bites. Chips are really thick and crunchy, love them! Guacamole is fresh made and good as well. Nice outdoor seating with shade. I just park about half a block down in the parking lot on the left. About a minute walk tops and cross the street to get there. Parking can be hard to find at the restaurant at times. Staff is friendly and polite, food comes out in a very reasonable if not a quick time and the portions are good sized for sure. If youre in the area,definitely give them a try!

You know the food is good when patrons visibly glow when you tell them its your first time here. We ordered the tamales and enchiladas in the mole sauce. Both dishes were spectacular. This place is amazing authentic Mexican food. The lamb taco has an amazing spice to it, and the lamb was extremely tender. I normally don’t like tostadas because they just fall apart after bite 1, but these tostadas are thick and stay together through the whole meal. The halibut ceviche tostada is the perfect combo of textures and flavors. The chicken mole enchiladas are also spiced to perfection.The chips are thick like the tostada and the guacamole and salsas, when combined, make a tremendous flavor.While the prices seem high, the tostadas and tacos are 10in not your typical tiny 6 or 8in tacos. It’s a lot of food. And my favorite part is they recommend you mix and match. So I got 1 ceviche tostada with one lamb taco and it was a deceiving amount of food. The enchiladas are enormous. So $19 for two enchiladas is plenty of food. Enjoy!

Some of their items are amazing others I can definitely pass on. They are usually very busy and parking is a pain. I ordered an aguachile (which is amazing) I go to pick it up, I pay, THEN they tell me they are out and they have been out for 3 hours!!!? Then ask me to choose something else again after I have already paid, needless to say the service is lacking but Im sure thats because of how popular/busy they are.

Excellent Mexican food with outside picnic bench seating. Parking can be a bit challenging, but the good news is, theres a public parking area about 75 yards down the street. We like this place so much, we drove an hour and a half for lunch, and man was it worth it. Not only that, we make sure we pick up some of their refrigerated items to take home for another day. This is a Check Please Bay Area restaurant that almost everyone on the program raved about it. Yes, me too obviously... An additional tip, get anything with their mole sauce. Its outstanding.

The chilaquiles were amazing - the tortilla chips stayed crispy even though they were covered in sauce, the eggs were cooked perfectly, and they didnt skimp on the avocados (which were perfectly ripe). I think the chilaquiles are only served until 11 so get them while you can.

Food here is absolutely delicious! The menu rotates seasonally; so it will take a few trips to try everything. The are mostly known for their fish dishes, and they sure do live up to their reputation. Fresh fish, homemade tortillas, and from scratch sauces. Cant go wrong stopping here for a quick bite. Parking is difficult and there are only two tables inside, but they have a huge patio area.

I know theres some hype here but believe it. This food is incredible.First off, the menu is interesting and nuanced. Youre not going to find your average lineup of also-ran Mexican dishes, so check your burrito at the door.I went with the chicken mole enchiladas and found it incredible. The mole was nuanced yet delicious but with just the right amount of sneaky heat. A dash of crema on the top helped and helped finish the beans (even though if were getting technical, I finished the beans).Definitely do the guac. The avocados are brilliant and beautiful. They dont try to over complicate the flavors. Its just a fresh and hearty guacamole that I probably couldve eaten as my meal if I wasnt needing to share it with the table (stupid manners).The prices might seem a touch steep but you will have enough to eat (trust me Im a guy who likes to stuff my face). Overall, a great experience and I wish my stomach could be empty so I could do it all over again.

This review is purely based on our experience with takeout and doesn’t reflect dine in. We were staying a 5 min walk from here and ordered for dinner. We picked up our food and just everything was a soggy mushy mess. We definitely should have adjusted what we ordered to be more conducive to take out. We got the nachos, fish tacos, Chile relleno de picadillo, and the potato masa gorditas. Basically everything was soggy. If you order takeout id def recommend asking for sauce on the side. It does seem a bit overpriced for tacos but that’s kind of the name of the game in Sonoma. The outdoor dine in atmosphere is super cute and we love that they make their tortillas fresh in house so kudos for that.

If you are visiting from out of town and are looking for some authentic, and absolutely delicious food, this is a must have while you are here. Ive stopped by twice on my visit to Sonoma now and may even need to make a third trip over before I leave. The staff are absolutely incredible and the food is out of this world. I highly recommend the Mole, the Chicken Chalupas, and some chips and guacamole. Just writing this review is making me hungry for it again. One of the best Mexican restaurants ever. Just the right amount of items on the seasonal menu to keep things interesting. Chilaquiles go from open to 11am (only option for breakfast) then the full menu kicks in. They also do pour overs, have a bottled soda, and wine because wine country.Go-tos are the mole chicken tamales and the chicken suiza enchiladas. Plates come out piping hot, carried by familiar faces calling out your name. I had 2 Butternut Squash with caramelized onions and white cheddar enchiladas, creamy salsa Verde, black beans, avacado & pickled cabbage relish. It was beyond delicious and a very large portion. My partner had 3 Yucatecan pork panuchos; bean filled crisp tortillas, slice of egg, topped with Seville orange marinated pork & citrus habanero onions. Said it was delicious. We each had a beer. This place is hella good. I was very happy with homemade tortilla chips and delicious spicy salsa verde when food arrived. My wife and I split lamb barbacoa tacos and pork tamales. I tried tamale first and it was great and i was sold this place is great. Then tried lamb barbacoa tacos and they were way better than tamales. My wife loved this place and she is the ultimate critic of restaurants. She likes many places but hardly ever loves a place like she did here. A colorful and delightful restaurant that has some indoor seating isn’t he rear and a pretty large patio outdoor dinning. While unpretentious, the venue offers truly interesting dishes and unusually delicious interpretations of authentic cuisine. With good reasons, it gets pretty crowded during peak times so plan accordingly or go outside of busiest times.

Amazing enchiladas. The fillings are so unique and seasonal. The enchiladas are definitely the best in the Bay Area. The enchilada meals are quite large so come hungry.When it’s busy the food can take a few minutes to come out so get the tortilla chips and guac. I often work with guests staying at the Sonoma Mission Inn and inevitably they will ask for dining recommendations . Thats when I look them over and decide if they are qualified to enjoy the BEST MEXICAN FOOD IN CALIFORNIA. By that I mean will they be able to overlook the rather spartan decor and the fact that you have to walk through the kitchen to get to the tables which are all outside in order to enjoy food that can only be described as heavenly. This place is hidden gem. Came in a group and ordered a variety of dishes. I ordered the Chicken Mole Poblano Enchiladas with Black Beans and it did not disappoint. This was by far the best and most interesting Mexican I have ever had. 6 of us got take out after a very long travel day and we were all obsessed with our meals. Guac is phenomenal. I had the chili rellenos - between the pepper, pork and sauce, I couldn’t pick my favorite part. And it had pomegranate seeds as garnish!!! We had two vegetarians and not only were there options but delicious options - Potato tacos and caramelized onions and cheese enchiladas. This is easily one of the best restaurants in Sonoma County. Their menu isnt extensive, but it does change a bit seasonally, and every dish is perfect. Let me just start by saying this restaurant offers outdoor seating only. The portions are very large but also very expensive. Due to the outdoor seating there is a major insect problem ( flies and bees ). The food is very authentic but lacks flavor and charge for any extra items, rice and beans etc. The teenager who took our order was VERY uneducated with the menu and the few beers that the restaurant offers. I know the last couple reviews of this establishment have received 5/5 but unless you like sweating over your food I would suggest you rethink your choice .

Everything that we tried here was delicious. The tacos al pastor had amazing flavor and the tomatillo on the pork tamales was outstanding. Their guacamole was also some of the best that I have had. This review is for the chile relleno en nogada only. This so-called chile en nogada is an insult to the Mexican nation. Instead of the classic nogada sauce, a delicious sauce made with mostly ground nuts, this version was served with straight-up sour cream instead. Having grown up in México, I was very excited to eat this super classic dish, but my soul was crushed when I tasted this. Shame on you Molino Central, take this off your menu please, or learn to make nogada properly.

I have had some great meals here and I am not one for writing reviews however this experience was bad enough to warrant one.I stopped in for lunch and ordered the three beef brisket soft tacos which came out dripping in so much oil that the tortilla was soaked straight through, pools of oil collecting on the plate. If there was any other flavors to this taco I couldn’t taste it through the sheer volume of oil that coated my mouth. I am pretty sure this is not how they are supposed to taste or be prepared.Now these things happen sometimes and that is fine, but this restaurant doesnt have table service so there isn’t a server coming by to see how the food they make is being enjoyed and if there is an issue, fix it. You order at the counter and they drop it off.They do have staff dropping off and clearing plates, they are around and this is the part that got me the most. Two separate employees saw me with a plate full of uneaten food I had just paid $28 dollars for that I pushed two feet away from me in disgust and nobody thought to either offer to clear my plate or maybe, just maybe ask me why I wasn’t eating the food they prepared.
