DRY AND OLD...thats not a good combo anyway you put it. The Tamales are not fresh . A whole lot of old masa,a pinch of pork .Chicken Tamales? Hardly .Folks if it werent for the( Pina ) they were out of Horchata, I might not be here to give this review.Parched, Flavorless, Skimpy on the meat. Disclaimer: Bring a large beverage to wash down these tired, excuses for Tamales ...put a fork in me Im so done .

First time here since I was kid. Stopped by for the champurrado and bought 2 cups! Great selection of pan dulce and other bakery assortments. You can order burritos and tacos, empanadas, and they have several different kinds of meats depending on what you want to order. Everything looked fresh and I’ll have to stop by again when I’m in the area. Service and staff were friendly and fast!

3rd time here. First time was for the empanadas. Theyre small so you can eat a bigger variety, thats what I prefer. Second time was for the bakery. Their bread is so good, and whatever you call their round buns with the sugar on it, is the best Ive had. Its similar to Asian pineapple buns, and this is not as soft or as sweet, and I prefer this. I can eat more of them this way. This time Im here for the food. I got a combo plate. They have 7-8 different kinds of prepared meats. Asada, Chile Verde, buche, tripa, beef and potato, carnitas, chicken, etc. I got 2 kinds with beef and rice. It comes with some lettuce and tomato onion on it. I asked for sour cream on top which made it awesome. It came with 3 tortillas which were steaming hot. I got a few baked goods again and a soda. Definitely worth coming here for the food and bakery. Well worth the prices. My plate was around $10. A burrito is less, tacos are around $2 and you can order their meats in containers to take home.

I like going to the bakery but the young girl in the register isnt very welcoming. She always makes a face and I fought her judging the customers. That’s very rude. Also, a lady who helped folding up burritos got upset just because I asked if she can please cut my burrito in half😑 make a huffing sound. LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE HERE! So sad..

I went here to order a cake for a quinceañera and the young lady that works at the cashier didn’t even bother to ask us what we were looking for and she just gave me and my girls a dirty look, I asked her nicely if she was gonna help us and she was just like “wait I’m busy” and left. After we were ordering our food and while we were ordering the young lady called another lady I’m guessing the manager which she looked like a clown with that extra makeup she was wearing. Before I left they told me that if I was having a bad day that it was my problem.

I always pass by this place, and during the pandemic, they had lines going out for half the block some mornings. That, and they used to have $5 burrito Wednesdays. So I decided, Im going to try them out for their burritos. Uhm... Lets just say, its a bakery, so you should stick to their pan dulce and baked goods. UPDATEI decided to update my review after today’s visit.I got to the bakery minutes after it opened. Two pieces we ate were dry and chewy. While at the bakery, I noticed a truck driver delivering what looked like freshly made bread. A woman removed trays from tall metal carts containing newly delivered bread and merely added it to bread already awaiting in the shelves. When I got home I discovered all the bread I purchased was day old bread.Also the two pork tamales I bought were not fresh or fully thawed which meant they were not taken out of the refrigerator and properly heated before being sold.These are bad business practices. This may be my last visit to this sub par bakery.ORIGINAL REVIEWThis bakery is not nearly as good as it once was, however, my two favorite pieces of Mexican bread are the croissants aka cuernos and the slices of pound cake. Their chorizo sold by the pound is also good as are the tamales. The remainder of their Mexican bread is lackluster.

Love this place .. the selections and variety they offer is quite good and not overwhelming ..My fav spot in the SGV to get some great breakfast or lunch..Great location and easy parking to find.The staff is really friendly and over all not pushy and patient.This place is also a bakery. You cant beat originality.I will be back possibly next week again .Thanks for the great service, food, location and overall comfort.I would personally recommend the breakfast burrito and split it with your favorite person.. Its a great size and enough to split.

Hello, we just had a really bad experience with your rosca de reyes, it was bought this morning by one of our colleagues here at work. The rosca was a total disaster!!! The bread was dry and really hard, it looked like it was made on Monday and we bought it today Friday. Everyone pitched in to buy it and we all were disappointed and let down. I guess this is it and we will buy it somewhere else next year. :(

I like this place because of the champurrado, good bread and at one point nice people. Now they have a RUDE CASHIER AND HELPER..SHE IS ONE OF THE WORST PEOPLE I HAD TO DEAL WITH.So as much as I love the food there I have stopped going and so did my family.. because of the way the cashier me and treated them. She is not only rude but she should not be dealing with customers. Get her out and maybe I will return. For now looking for another place. Thanks for the memories.

I ordered a 200 dollar cake with delivery included weeks ahead of my event. When the day came and we didnt get the cake at the hall at the time we had said( we had a schedule to follow). I called the bakery and the lady put me on hold for ever(she couldnt find my order). Then told me she would call back. She called back like 10 minutes later and asked me details about my order. She put me on hold again for ever told me the delivery guy is on his way(which was a lie). They took a very along time just to find out the guy was not on his way they told him to take it to my event until i called which was more than 1 1/2 late. They charged me 75 dollars for delivery and to be late.

Okay was okay. It was not as wet as expective from a tres leches cake. The edible picture had a yellow drop on it. The girl could not remove it. A bit disappointed becuz the birthday girl noticed it. The around cake wasnt cheap either. I also had fresh fruit in the middle. The cake did have a bit too much frosting that was thick through out the cake. Frosting was not sweat but was thick kinda like Fondant. Will I come back? No Portos has way better tres leches cake and they are way cheaper!

Champurado, give it a try .Theyre authentic with this drink, get it early in the morning. In case youre not familiar with this delicious egg sweet bread.I was born in 1962, its been a staple of quality in the community no matter what culture you were nurtured into, when in Los Angeles County try the San Gabriel location and take some home. They also prepare a wonderful beef buche, pronounced (boocheh), ( tender neck cuts of beef unlike any other texture on a steer).

I purchased a cake for my grandaughters bday in September and usually when I buy from there is is good but, for some reason this time around the cake tasted stale so, I called to let them know about the incident and they said Karina wold get back to me.....she never did so I had to call back and Karina was there and she told me that there was nothing that she could do about it because I took so long to call her and I explained to her that I did my part in calling her and she said she never got the message so there was nothing she could do about it she has no business managing any stores because she has terrible customer service skills! This use to be a good place and now that it is under new management it is horrible! If you puyrchase a cake from there and it does not taste right make sure to take a piece to them and make sure you call every day because she will not get back to you at all and then she will blame it on you for not hunting her down!

The cashiers are sometimes just talking between them ...and dont pay attention to the customers ....and they say many bad words ......I have been coming to.this place for a long time ...the bread is great and all the food as well ...but please somebody talk to.the employees about customer service .
