Visited from Toronto, CanadaHighly recommend this restaurant while in Manhattan Beach. From the second you walk in the service is amazing and friendly. Food came out fast and tasted absolutely delicious! The enchilada is amazing and the shrimp/ fish tacos to die for. I will definitely be visiting again!

Great place to stop for lunch. Was in town for less than 24 hours. Walked around MB and my son decided on this spot. Perfect choice. Food dishes were super plentiful and tasty. The mango lemonade was good, too! Ana, I think was servers name. Shout out to her, too! Took great care of us.

We happened to be in town on a layover from LAX. Discovered this charming family owned restaurant. The place was packed but got a table in no time at all. Expect hearty portions of really good Mexican fare. Tried the Viking Burrito, and it did not disappoint. The Carne Asada was well seasoned, and the combination of tomatillo green sauce with guacamole, sour cream, melted cheese, and more made for a delightful flavoring with just a little heat. Paired with a good beer or margarita, youve got a winning combination. Prices are fair, food comes out quick, and our server was very friendly.

Nice interesting Mexican place if you want to try Mexican food and drink.Three different Margaritas, traditional, mango, and strawberry with a sour taste.The Fahita mix that I tried was Ok but not the best Fajitas that I had experienced.The Margarita though was pretty good and delicious, I got extra shots with my margarita to make it more realistic!

Absolutely wonderful! The service was great, accommodated our dog, even made plain chicken just for him! The food was AMAZING, generous portions (huge, even!) and delicious! I loved my strawberry margarita and michelada with the fancy fixings! The prices are very reasonable considering the portions and quality - highly recommend!

Parking on the street..parking meters you got to pay use 🏧 or credit card 💳, service was quick, food was hot and the chips were not too salty very good. My 10 year old male grandson was hungry and ate all of his Enchiladas and rice with beans. We arrived at 4:30pm not crowded within 20 minutes the place was filled with laughter and people.

Went late at night not expecting much. However, we were blown away by the food and service. Hawaian Nachos and the gigantic Burrito Sombrero hit the spot. Went here during the pandemic so outdoor seating was the only option. Ordered the El sombrero burrito (wet) and it was amazing. The ground beef inside was savory without overpowering the other ingredients. They serve freshly cooked tortilla chips and salsa thats refillable too which was delicious. Our server was very nice and professional. The only downside is parking.. it can be hard depending on the time of day but all in all I had a great meal. I would definitely come back when Im in the area again.

Fantastic food and cant beat the prices! They serve such generous portions at such decent prices and are located in such a perfect area right on Manhattan Ave by the pier! My shrimp fajitas were extremely tasty and for $14.99 you just cant beat it! They even serve free chips and salsa once you order which these days is rare to find! The staff are all so very kind and even the manager comes out to say hello and asks how the food and our days are going! Love the family vibes they have going here, such a great place for lunch or dinner after days wandering around the beach!

I was stunned to find such a budget friendly, high quality Mexican restaurant in the heart of trendy, expensive Manhattan Beach.My chicken enchiladas were not only flavorful they were moist and smooth. With other restaurants, the chicken and the chicken enchiladas is often dry. Not here! My wife had the veggie tostada and loved it.We were able to feed four people for about $120, including tip. Service was friendly and fast all around, and it was right downtown, two blocks from the water!El Sombrero has been a Manhattan Beach mainstay since the seventies, but this is the first time I experienced it. Family owned, I recommend it unreservedly. Wonderful place, and a great value!

Great Mexican food. And super nice employees. I forgot my phone there after lunch. When I realized I called the restaurant, they helped passing my phone to a Lyft driver, who then drove my phone to the airport. Thanks to their help (also the help from my Lyft driver), I was able to retrieve my phone and not missing an international flight.

We were pleasantly surprised by the menu selection, the affordable prices and the super-friendly server. I found their Vegetarian soup hot and delicious, bursting with fresh veggies and flavors. We were pleasantly pleased when we stumbled upon reviews recommending this restaurant for a reasonably priced meal. Its on a very charming street, offers an outdoor area and a screened in areas for dining. We received chips and salsa immediately when we arrived and they were refilled almost instantaneously when we finished them- they were delicious! If you are ever in Manhattan Beach and are in search of a nice simple hole in the wall restaurant I highly recommend paying a visit here. This is one of the few Mexican restaurants I have noticed that is Lard free which is a bonus to having flavorful food. One of my favorite items to order are their wine based mango margaritas paired with street tacos. When it comes to customer service this place definitely delivers as I am always greeted with a warm Welcome home .

This is one of my Friday go-to lunch spots. I usually order their taco special and a Mexican coke or a Mexican beer or margarita, depending on my mood. I love this spot because my lil Frenchie can hang out with me on the patio. Its dog friendly for you pet lovers. Also the staff is very friendly as well. Id leave less stars if I could. Mediocre food and horrible service. We waited 20 minutes after being seated to be offered water. Ordering took another 17 minutes after that. During the meal, no one came to top off glasses or ask how we were, we got up ourselves to grab a jug of water. While attempting to pay, we tried to motion to our server that the bill was ready and he motioned back to us that he was busy processing other peoples credit cards. If the food had been exceptional, I would have understood a little but no. It was no different than other mexican restaurants with better service. Not coming back!

This is the absolutely the best Mexican restaurant in Manhattan Beach. As customers for more than 2 decades, we should know. Our favorites: carnitas tacos and chile rellenos. When visiting the Manhattan Beach Pier, one of our favorite places to eat at has to be El Sombrero. Its only a 5 minute walk from the pier. This had to of been our 4th time eating here and Ive yet to be disappointed. The food is great and very affordable. My favorite dish to order is the Chile Relleno. The cook on the pepper is always on point with a perfect ration of cheese, egg and sauce. Service is always good, even when we came with a party of a dozen. Give them a shot.
