Personally, I was initially most interested in EM Deli and Catering for getting ingredients for preparing Korean food. I am a newby learning how to cook Korean food, and EM Deli has so much available in their small well-organiser space.Their store is sparkly clean, and everything is easy to find. There On the left, when entering their store are small containers of ready to eat single servings of delicious dishes that they have prepared. Personally, I got seaweed salad, and squid salad—both were absolutely fresh and delicious!Besides a refrigerated case that included some important veggies, sauces, and tofu for preparing your own dishes., They also have frozen commercially packaged food for using later. They have dried goods like rice, soy sauce, noodles, and seaweed. They also have lots of Korean cuts of meat, and can get you fresh fish from San Francisco.If you just want to get what they have already prepared, you can go down to actually see what they have. You can order online. We had a small dinner party of four and got carry out. When it was brought home, we ate it so quickly that i forgot to take pictures.

Great selection of Korean hot food, bonchons, snacks, frozen treats, staples and more. Found some of my bonchon favorites that are hard to find now like raw seasoned crab. Prices are higher but that’s expected given its location but it’s well worth the convenience and delicious food.

Great place to grab a bite after hitting the trails. Seaweed is fresh. Potato noddles with veggies are divine. Friendly staff, highly recommend.

Fantastic food! I got bibimbop (veggie!) and it was amazing. It came with miso soup that was delicious! Would super recommend (and was $10!). Also has a small sit down area where I ate!

EM Deli is a nice Korean market in Oaklands Montclair. I had the ready made Korean Beef Bibimbap or Bulgogi bowl to go. It was very good.

My GF just turned me onto this place today! Their large variety of banchan, kimchi and to-go bento box selections were great, not to mention their precooked meats. My GF is vegetarian, and she loves this place. So many Korean and Asian items... I got several to try and was very pleased. Pricing is decent. I cant wait to go back!!

Great place to get some homemade Korean food. My favorite place to get gimbap/kimbap. They also have really good fishcake and tofu in spicy flavor. The prepared hot food is decent too!

EM deli is my go to place when I want to pick up a quick lunch!They have a great selection of prepared food for lunch: bulgogi beef bowls, spicy chicken, and larger box lunches with a variety of Korean dishes. Theres a large spread of side dishes too so make sure to try a few!Lots of Korean grocery staples, snacks, and drinks. As well as options from other Asian countries.

I absolutely love EM Deli. I first found out about this family-run Korean market when visiting their downtown location. I’d often get takeaway items like the kimchi fried rice, japchae, gyoza, or kimbap, but they also have Asian grocery staples like rice, mirin, seaweed and more. Definitely a great stop in Montclair when the next best Asian grocery is another 20 minute drive away.

Korean Fried Chicken tenders were amazing!!!!! So crispy and flavorful. Japchae is well seasoned and the veggies in it were fresh. The pickled radish had a delicious sweet tangy and spicy brine—perfect balance. Coleslaw was simple cabbage but fresh and great dressing. Very happy with my meal!

Worth the price. Kimbap tasted fresh and the pickled radish inside was very crunchy. Highly recommend to go before lunchtime to get more fresh and warm food.

Their kimbap is the best. More stuff inside, less rice around it vs. when ordered from Korean restaurants. So convenient, too, for a light and delicious meal on the go! Other selections of prepared food are good too.

Friendly owners & staff. Freshly prepared Korean foods to go. Japchae, KFC, bento boxes, sushi & more. Raw marinated meats, cut veggies, frozen dumplings, etc. Run to Montclair & explore this shop. Plenty of street parking in the neighborhood.

Their selection of instant noodles is very impressive. The owners are also really nice and sociable. In addition to groceries, their store is one of the only places in the area where you can pick up Korean food outside of downtown or telegraph.

Great kimbap and other prepared foods like jeon (savory pan fried items wrapped in egg) or sliced braised pork trotters. Their prepared foods are a little pricey but makes sense with the neighborhood. Their produce, however, is really cheap -- if a little limited. They always have korean squash, bean sprouts and napa cabbage which is appreciated as a person who cooks Korean food. Often go to pick up items to stock up on korean pantry items as well.

We live in the neighborhood and are regulars. Our guests ask us to get takeout from EM Catering if we aren’t cooking. The entire staff is friendly, helpful with new suggested items for us and for our family to try. Their selection of meats, kimchi and frozen dumplings, etc is as good as their great food and helpful advice.

I came here for the kimbap and was not disappointed. Delicious and fresh!! Gotta get there early though because it goes fast. Really enjoyed all the delicious treats in there as well. A little pricey but all in all worth it. Will be going back!!

Small Korean deli that serves hot food. They also sell a variety of traditional pickled veggies, meats, and snacks. I like ordering food from the hot table, you can get a bowl with either rice and noodles and a main dish. The food here is fresh and tasty. I always get it to go, they have a small counter for you to eat there. The owner is very friendly and hes always telling to try different things. They also provide catering, which weve ordered for an office party.

The cutest Korea grocery market with a good selection of banchan side dishes and pre-marinated meats. There is also a hot bar for nap char or bibimbap to grab. Good place to get most Asian-specific groceries too.

What a diamond in the rough!!! I cant believe I have been driving to concord for Korean grocery and (( Ranch, when this GEM was right under my nose in Montclair! Amazing KBBQ sliced meat options. Great quality, great prices. Prepared foods looked amazing. I only got Kimbap but will def go pack for hot lunches and Bibimbap kits and ALLLLLL the ban chan which also looked amazing and they have such a clean, nice, orderly shop. So excited to go back! :)

Great kimchi. For ppl who dont know: the kimchi is not completely fermented when you buy it, so it doesnt taste great. You take it home and keep it in the fridge for a week or two. Or you put a little bit in a separate container and let it ferment outside of the fridge for a day or two or until it tastes good to you.

I really like the Banchan here. This is my go to place for Kimchi and Kkakdugi. I also really like the japchae and tteokbokki. Ive always had really friendly service and good experiences shopping here.

A few years ago, I liked food when I was in my 90s.This time, my sister-in-law ordered food for her 70s.Food that doesn’t have any real flavor. No matter how much it’s called catering,Ganan is cut and bloated, and there is only japchae and gusu.I dont want to order again.
