Pretty good dim sum food with excellent service by a very friendly gentlemen that works here. Its actually a pretty small restaurant but it wasnt packed because we came early. Also there isnt anyone pushing food carts but instead you check mark the item you want to order on the paper menu. That way you get freshly made dim sum hot and fresh to you.

Tried this place because rumor had it that their food was very good. Were mostly disappointed. The poached chicken in scallion oil was just passable (alot of fatty pieces, and not well flavored), but the red-braised pork belly had little flavor and could be braised longer for more tender meat The exception was the tilapia which was quite fresh if a little undersalted. Service was slow, taking almost 15 minutes for the first dish to arrive then 15 minutes to next, but it was extremely busy. All in all, passable, but did not deliver to the hype.

Bund 8, formerly known as Embassy Kitchen, has reopened with a new Chinese name and a delightful menu featuring classic Shanghainese cuisine. The restaurant offers a range of beloved dishes that will satisfy any craving, from the flavorful noodle mixed in scallion oil to the delicious fried rice cake and the succulent braised fish and eel. You’ll also find delightful options like crystal shrimps, soup dumplings, and pan-fried dumplings, along with more extravagant choices like crab with rice cake, lobsters, and roasted duck in Shanghai style. One of the highlights of Bund 8 is the generous portion sizes and reasonable prices, allowing you to enjoy a satisfying meal without breaking the bank. However, it’s worth noting that the service could use some improvement. While the overall experience is pleasant, the waitstaff, particularly the waitresses, could benefit from a warmer and more welcoming attitude, such as smiling more frequently. Nonetheless, the quality of the food makes up for any minor service shortcomings, making Bund 8 a worthwhile destination for those seeking authentic Shanghainese cuisine. The ambiance at Bund 8 is inviting, with a tasteful decor that reflects the elegant and vibrant spirit of Shanghai. The restaurant’s atmosphere creates a pleasant dining environment, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the culinary journey. In terms of value, the portion sizes are generous, ensuring that you leave the restaurant feeling satisfied. Moreover, the prices are reasonable, making Bund 8 an attractive choice for both casual dining and special occasions. While improvements in service, particularly with regard to the waitstaff’s friendliness, would enhance the overall experience, it’s important to note that the food is the true star of the show at Bund 8. The restaurant’s dedication to serving authentic Shanghainese cuisine shines through in each dish, allowing you to savor the rich flavors and culinary traditions of the region. If you’re a fan of Shanqhai food, Bund 8 (formerly Embassy Kitchen) in San Gabriel presents a wonderful opportunity to indulge in classic Shanghainese cuisine. With a menu filled with everyone’s favorites and more extravagant options, coupled with reasonable prices and a pleasing ambiance, this restaurant is sure to please your taste buds. While the service could benefit from some improvements, the exceptional flavors and generous portions make Bund 8 a worthwhile dining destination.

We had the French style lamb which was amazing I have no words to describe it other then OMG. The seafood crispy noodles were crispy and delicious. The fried shrimp with fruit and walnuts what the flavor I have been looking for all my life. The food that was going to other tables also looked amazing can not wait to go back.

Foods are decent. Prices are comparable with other dim sum restaurants around the area. However, the ambience is more neighborhood-looking than high end look of most newer Chinese restaurants. Parking lot has enough spaces if the restaurant is not too busy because it also serves another restaurant.

This place has been around for a while. The restaurant is a bit dated but clean and it goes to show how good this place is. The food was flavorful and hot. Typical chinese restaurants are usually loud but this place has a nice quiet atmosphere where you can talk with each other at the table. Service is good.
