This place had many options to choose from! We ordered the Pineapple Curry Fried Rice and Firecracker Beef. The rice dish was amazing and it was served in an actual pineapple which was aesthetically pleasing! The beef dish was also good, it had a spicy kick to it and very flavorful! Would recommend getting rice on the side for it and definitely mention how you’d like the meat! It was nearly perfect but the meat was a bit difficult to cut through. But taste wise, both dishes were great! We also ordered the Black and Orange Natural Thai Iced Tea. This was not your typical Thai iced tea, it had a hint of orange and was very refreshing, in addition to that, it was dairy free! We ordered another one to go! The setting and atmosphere is amazing and very beautiful! Great for a date or even a family dinner! This place is definitely worth a visit!

The best skewer I’ve ever had in my life. A simple chicken meat can be as flavourful as I’ve never seen. Also had the butternut squash dumpling with the basil oil causing an explosion of great sensations. Amazing restaurant and staff!

Go there - it is very good. We went at 5:30 for happy hour and got the happy hour platter for $30. Tasty and good value. I wasn’t happy with the price of my cocktail as it was filled to the very top of the glass with ice and almost no drink for $9 happy hour price. Never had low ball drink filled to the rim with ice before.

E & O is always a good time!Warning: do NOT go here when youre hungry because you will be tempted to order the entire menu. Everything is THAT good! Ive attended holiday parties here in the past but recently went for dinner with a friend and it was just as amazing, possibly more because I was actually able to sit and eat instead of socializing. The bartenders were all super sweet (we sat at the bar) and the hostess was extremely helpful in helping us navigate the restaurant (I was walking with a cane at the time). A must-have is the corn fritters for sure, Ive never been disappointed with them. Or anything else on the menu for that matter. Other restaurants could learn a few things from E&O about customer service and quality. Not to mention the aesthetic is gorgeous!

Had been wanting to try this place a long time. Was worth the wait. Great fusion menu. Had the rolls which were so tasty. But the entree was the best. E&o cheese burger with impossible patty was so good. And I’m a big fries person and their fries were perfectly small and crunchy. Taste just like McDonald’s fries without the guilt. Loved our server. The drinks leave quite a bit to be desired so watered down even though they looked great.

This is the first time coming here after the pandemic. Last time here was about 4 years ago. I always liked this place. Wasn’t too busy on a Thursday night, nice atmosphere and good food and drinks. We had a combination of a few small plates and 1 large and it was plenty for 3 people. Food is family style so order a few things and share. We enjoyed dinner and will be back next time I’m in SF

E&O Kitchen and Bar is a restaurant that is quite busy and has lots of visitors in down town SF. This restaurant serves & offers dishes and culinary delights that tend to be Asian food. The ambient in this restaurant is quite exciting, especially with seating that is slightly inward, because you can see the chefs interaction in preparing the food.On the menu you can find typical Indonesian Fried Rice, Pineapple Fried Rice, Padthai, corn frites, and also curry. As for the food itself, for Asian people, the portions are quite large. The dishes served have a strong taste of typical Asian spices, which differentiates these dishes from western ones.

The food is great and made of fresh and high-grade ingredients. Every dish we tried was a great success. From the simple naan, through the refreshing mahi tuna, all the way to the Firecracker Beef, we enjoyed every bite. The atmosphere is light and inviting, and the service was flawless. Thank you!

This place has a great happy hour, and I came to enjoy that. I was surprised mostly by the fact that the place seemed pretty dead at 4 p.m. on a Saturday afternoon considering its location I would assume that it would have been busier. But that works for me because I was able to get seated right away and the server was very attentive.I ordered the ribs off the happy hour menu which come out to $3 a piece and are served with slaw. These ribs are absolutely delicious and so tender. Truly fall-off-the-bone style. I was surprised though, at how big they were considering they are only $3 each. I ordered three and for $9 that almost completely filled me up.I also ordered the Ahi Tartare off the main menu however for $22 the portion size was quite small, and honestly I felt like it lacked a lot of flavor I ended up not finishing it.I also had 2 glasses of Sake Graffiti Cup from Joto which is a clean and dry sake that I really enjoy, however I couldnt justify paying for it at their regular menu price however the happy hour price is pretty standard for this particular sake.The restaurant was super clean and the staff were all incredibly friendly.All in all I enjoyed my visit and will 100% be back for the ribs.

Stumbled upon this place looking for refuge after a day of holiday shopping. E & O did not disappoint! I was there during Happy hour which had a great variety of nicely priced drinks and small plates. The service was warm and genuine as well as the atmosphere in the restaurant. You absolutely must try the Butternut sqash dumplings! I hope that is not a seasonal dish, because I will definitely want to order every visit to San Francisco.

I was looking for a happy hour location that served oysters and was really lucky to get a seat by the bar without any reservation. Oysters were pretty small and underwhelming, but you can’t ask for much when it’s $10.50 for half a dozen. The corn fritters and the pork bun were decent though. The $7/glass was what really made the trip here worth it. May return again to try the other main course dishes, but not for the oysters.

I liked the food a lot.Chicken satay is OK. Steak good, but marination was too much. Flavor was OK. Mushroom satay was good. Ribs were very flavorful and pork buns were simple and delicious.Cod.... . We started off with a few appetizers and ordered an entree to share.The pork buns and squash dumplings were super tasty and well served.The chicken and lettuce wraps were a bit oily and didn’t have a ton of flavor. The chicken could have been browned more and the lettuce leaves were too small.We got the black cod to share, but the waiter almost forgot about us and we had to wait quite to even order it. I also expected a bit more flakiness from the cod, but the glaze was a nice touch.

Overall: Warm, dim date night atmosphere with average service and decent food. Would not go out of my way to eat here except to get the Smoked Tea Deviled Eggs.Food: Priced a little high for what is served. The highlight for me was the Smoked Tea Deviled Eggs ($3.50/piece), which had a nice umami flavor and Id gladly eat a dozen of those. The Shiitake Mushroom Dumplings ($17.50 for 5 pieces) had great flavor but the wrapper was too thick and chewy for my personal preference. We used the dumpling sauce to flavor our fries and our burger. Egg Drop Wonton Soup ($13) had 4 wontons and was exactly what I expected from a classic dish. The Famous Fritter Burger ($26) was a letdown due to the fragile corn fritter buns that couldnt hold its contents together and it didnt seem to have as much flavor as I anticipated from the description; however, the patty was cooked at the doneness that I requested. Fries had a slight crisp and light seasoning.Service: The host was in the restroom when we arrived so we were not immediately assisted, but no one acknowledged us (party of 2) during the ~5 minutes that we waited for the host. The remaining waitstaff were okay and food came out pretty quickly.

Enticing starters with good drink options, however, they are inconsistent in how they make their mixed drinks. A cocktail ordered 30 mins apart tastes distinctly different. Cocktails served during happy hour are flavorless. I would likely comeback for the food and not order drinks.

Tldr: terrible rude service, mediocre food. Wont be coming here again.Rude impatient waiter (the one with the slicked back hair) treated our table with very little dignitiy, didnt bother to refill water pitchers, gave three of us one plate and 3 forks knowing wed all be sharing dessert, rushing us to order and being visibly irritable when we changed our mind while ordering. Then at the end came by after we paid and said are we going to pay gentlemen? 🤨 then after realizing we had already paid and very visibly looking at the the tip amount became very happy and nice once he realized my kind uncle tipped him generously despite the awful service.Food was alright, a bit too salty and drinks were mid, sounded fancy on the menu but tasted rather bland. Also the fancy banana spring roll dessert was literally just a banana wrapped in fried pastry paper or at least thats what it tasted like, aka bland and not very interesting.

The food here is excellent and full of flavor. Our favorite was the pork buns available on happy hour. We would have happily ordered enough for the whole table.My only note is that I wish the portions were a bit bigger. For the price tag, I would have liked a bit more bang for our buck. I think the way the menu was represented made it seem like some plates (large plates) were bigger than the others and when they came out that was not the case.

This place has Ambiance! The host private events and they seem like a place with a great bar. I had the corn fritters and chicken & green beans. A couple of friends and I stopped in E&O Kitchen and Bar after a long day visiting SF. They accommodated us with speedy outdoor dining. The happy hour menu was packed with tons of low priced quality meals. We ordered just about everything on the menu. I could honestly say that nothing we ordered was bad. The food was expedited from the kitchen extremely quickly. The food was exceptional.

I booked E&O for a reception and it was terrific. The space was inviting although the mezzanine is L shaped so we all congregated on one side. Would consider the largest room if you have 40+ people. Beautiful space and the food was great and we sampled about 8 different finger foods and they were very tasty. The spirit free drinks were also good and we also had other non- alcoholic drinks and did a cash bar. Great service and the reservation process went very smoothly. Would love to try for a regular dinner in the future. The IRS no dedicated parking and it is located just steps from Chinatown.

I was here for happy hour a couple of years ago and remember enjoying the butternut squash dumplings and appreciating the large space and good service. I thought Id be back for dinner soon, considering how positively I thought of E+O, but it took me longer than expected--and it turns out that I really should have returned a lot sooner. Ive been missing out! The food here is pretty darn delicious. Nearly everything we ordered was tasty and well received, with favorites being the duck buns, ceviche, and lamb naan along with the aforementioned butternut squash dumplings. I was even surprised by how good the bacon with the side of brussels sprouts turned out, too. We wouldnt order everything again though: the shrimp satay, while perfectly cooked and paired with an excellent basil mango sauce, was far too expensive (four shrimp on skewers for $16!?), and the fries were just so-so. The black cod was good, but I can make a similarly tasty dish at home for half the cost. Dessert was polarizing for us only due to personal preferences; I thought the matcha panna cotta was good, but the ginger were cookies skippable. Service was uniformly excellent. The only real knock against E+O is the somewhat steep SF prices, but aside from that, any meal here will probably be a crowd pleaser.

Upscale and posh interior to enjoy Asian inspired dishes here. Love the modern interpretation of Indonesian deep fried corn fritters here that served as a bun substitute that sandwiched the meat in between. Very creative to make fritters as a burger. Loved the side dishes as well.

I would describe E&O’s food as a slight notch above Panda Express — decent, but very mediocre. Service was lacking throughout the entire meal; one pitcher of water for a large table (meaning not enough water for everyone to have a first glass), duplicate items being brought to the table, etc. There are many better options in the Union Square area.

Prompted by a short-notice opportunity to spend some time with friends on a pleasure visit to San Francisco, we found E & O using Yelp. Conveniently located near our freinds Union Square area hotel, the setting looked warm, comfortable, and spacious. The Asian fusion menu looked colorful enough to be interesting whileb still containing enough more common options for people who arent out for brand new flavors. We were not at all disappointed.We easily made 7pm reservations for our party of 6, and we got a marvelous table with an enjoyable view of the kitchen. We ordered a large variety of dishes to share communuty style. All choices received praise, but the ribs seemed to be the overall winner. I also recommend their Old Fashioned for its very pleasing flavor. I appreciated that the drink was not very boozy, too. Folks who want a stronger drink might check in with the bar on variation s or other selections. The gin and tonic was also a lovely drink, and received high praise as well. Overall I consider the food here to deliver a solid experience that combines with the setting and location to make E&O a very good option. But theres one more important thing to mention.The service at E&O, from the reservation call to the greeting as we entered to taking and delivery of orders was spot on. We received the perfect balance of attentiveness and space to enjoy each other socially. Requests arrived quickly and at all times servers were cordial and professionally responsive. We never felt rushed, and the entire staff added positive energy to the pleasing and understated elegance of this place.

We stopped by for lunch. Service was very good and the meal was good. We had a chance to speak with their Director of Events. It’s sad to see how Covid impacted the hospitality industry. Hearing her share some of the challenges was sad. A lot of folks in the restaurant industry have moved out of the city, so it is difficult for them to find resources. This is an excellent restaurant, nice decor, great space to host events, so please support them. Even though l no longer stay in the Bay Area, l will make an effort to dine here whenever l am in San Francisco.

The meals are quite expensive for what youre getting. We didnt have to wait but we did see a lot of people waiting after we were dining.The duck buns were underwhelming. The meat was dry and it was shared between me and my boyfriend for 4 buns, it was basically $4 per bun. The sauce was good though! But wed rather eat in Chinatown where they have the meat in chunks VS at e&o which are shredded.My boyfriend got the fritter burger. It was good but difficult to eat, it fell apart midway. Fries were ordinary.I got the Indonesian fried rice. I wouldnt get it again. It has a slight kick to it. I felt that it was quite expensive for just being okay.The ambiance of the restaurant is nice but its quite loud and the tables are v close together so youre hearing other peoples conversations.Service was good until after we ordered and got our food. We kept trying to flag servers down for our check and waiting for it to be collected, we almost brought it up to the front so we could pay.Overall. Expensive and underwhelming. Really tasty food but the waiter was very unhelpful. We told him from the beginning we needed our bill split between groups, the waiter just left and gave his replacement our bill as one large bill for the entire table. We told him throughout how to split it and we ended up having to calculate everything ourselves. Very unprofessional for this establishment. Service was fantastic, Micah, my bartender, was real and had great unbiased opinions on all of the food. I went with the famous fritter burger, the flavors were immaculate. The kimchi, pickles and the seasoning of the burger made it pretty memorable along with the tagrashi fries. Just don’t forget to cut it up with a knife and fork, can’t really pick this one up.

One of our Gluten Free spots in San Francisco. We love the ceviche, and it comes in a fun and delicious half coconut, with so-different taro chips. We find it very useful to have a reservation, and we like that it is near the SF Playhouse and Union Square. Nearby parking (as always in SF) is pricey (to us).

We had a really enjoyable meal at E&O. I’m disappointed it took me so long to dine here.We had three dishes. They were, squash salad, cod cooked on a wooden plank, drunken noodles modified to be spicier than average and with minimal oil.The squash salad was extraordinary! It’s a must have and is served with pomegranate, grapefruit, squash, little gem lettuce, toasted nuts and a curry yogurt dressing. This was the WOW of the meal.Shown below is the cod. It was a very nice piece of fish, although just slightly overcooked. It perfectly separated into morsels with one’s fork.We also had the drunken noodles which were solid.I will return here.

If you are going with another person or persons, order the pupu platter, it gives you a great overview of what is offered for happy hour and you can order individual items from there. We did enjoy our food although I didnt especially like the fried rice as I thought it was a bit too spicy (Im a wimp though). The spring rolls were fantastic. I think we were most impressed with how well timed our food came. The moment we got done with the ceviche, the spring rolls were there and as soon as we finished the rolls, the rice was there.Overall, we really enjoyed it and especially the service but were wishing we would have tried something different than the fried rice (and it was still really good, just wishing we would have tried something else)

Really good food and the ability to handle just about ANY sized parties. They have a ridiculous amount of space. Ive called last minute for groups from 2-60 and have never been turned down. The prices are very competitive and the staff is great. Really well run restaurant.

We had a reservation January 22nd which was the first day of Restaurant Week. When we were seated and tried to order the RW menu, they said it was not available due to shipping issues. We were disappointed as we were not notified beforehand and went there specifically for the wagyu beef.The manager tried to piece together a menu for us for $40 which was very underwhelming. The food was not good and the quality was not what wed expect for what we paid. Examples below:- Mushroom dumplings were what youd expect at Trader Joes, pretty standard- The Bap which is their bibimbap was not served in a stone pot, the rice was inside this weird fried tempura block, and the vegetables were slaw style. I understand that its fusion but this did not taste good- The Beef dish was too salty- the duck buns tasted like sliders as in we thought itd be more like peking duck but it tasted more like shredded duck (which does not go well with the buns)As a result, we did not end up ordering dessert since we were so disappointed with our meal. I was so disappointed because I made this reservation in advance and my date and I were really really looking forward to this and I traveled all the way from Sunnyvale to come here. :(It pains me to leave this review because the service was good (2 stars for that) but the food was simply not good.

This was the first time I went to an Ethiopian restaurant. its definitely distinct from other African cuisine. I went to something I thought was Ethiopian before, but my friend to let me know it was more East African. Lets start off with the location: its definitely not in the nicest part of town. We were actually walking around the city and decided to go here, so we experienced first hand how dirty the streets were. Im not sure where you would park, but best of luck to you.The restaurant inside is small, but there was only one other party in the restaurant. The menu is a bit on the shorter side than what I was expecting, and I pretty much let my friend order for us since he has eaten Ethiopian cuisine before. From what I understood, dishes tend to come individually, but if you ask you can order it family style, where its one platter that you can share with your table. We opted for the family style.

Went for indoor dining today and had the eat+drink SF dinner special plus some happy hour oysters and butternut squash dumplings. The oysters and dumplings were really good like everyone says and a great deal during happy hour. The dinner came with chicken and shrimp shu mais which were pretty good, but the entree was a little weird. It was fried chicken in curry with vegetables, which was delicious, but then it was confusingly topped with a salad, including pomegranate seeds and pickled daikon (good additions) and uhh big ole chunks of raw carrot (strange addition). I still ate them with the curry and they were fine, but kind of a weird pairing. Finally, the dessert was a milk tea panna cotta, which was rich and sweet and tasted just like boba tea but the actual tapioca pearls on top were undercooked and hard. Not sure if that was intentional, but I didnt eat them. It was really good without the pearls, but it would have been even better with soft, chewy boba. Overall, I had a good dining experience and am just happy to eat in a restaurant for the first time in months.

Interesting asian menu. Good happy hour menu to 6 pm. Avoid dry fried string beans which are very salty and avoid duck bun which is poor imitation of the real stuff on a stale bun. Good ribs, deviled egg, spicy braised lamb noodles. Satay chicken a little bland. Expect to spend $40 per person for dinner plus tax and tip for appetizers, entree, and a glass of happy hour $6 wine.

I have been here several times (throughout the years) and whenever I return something is always different. The food remains Delicious. I would say it is more family style, and they have moved away from half chicken to chicken satays. Oh and they now have this duck in a white bun, and oh man was that delicious. The duck was so flavorful without the extra grease that sometimes comes with that plate. The chow mien was also very delicious and there was a hint of a smokey flavor that I could not place. I would recommend this place for small groups or couples. They are totally kid and animal friendly (I recently saw a gorgeous British bulldog in there) but the kids might be too picky and not like the different look of the food. Unless your kid is a foodie; then you should be all good.

In a word: average - the food, service & ambiance. The menu is a slightly eclectic mix of south east Asian cuisines that should work together but dont really. I tried the famous Indonesian corn fritter which has a texture not unlike Id imagine a rice cake to be if it had been do-fried and left to sit in the coming oil for a little too long. The kimchee & pork dumplings were flavourless & served all but cold. And those two words describe the service: flavourless & cold. No one seemed particularly interested in serving me; I had to ask several times for my drink and the bill took an age in coming. All in all, Id save my money for better food experiences in the city.

I ordered the Japanese bop and she ordered the Asian gnocchi.My dish was just okay, was very tiny and overall the flavors were ok. Also quite expensive for how little the plate was... can definitely get yummy and less expensive Asian fusion food elsewhere.The service was also just okay. The waitress was a bit off. Came with 2 glasses of wine after we had only ordered one for myself. She also brought out the dessert menu while my friend was still eating her meal!Probably wouldnt come back unfortunately.

Weve been here multiple times, and almost all the dishes have been very good or great. Last night our table of 7 had the ahi tatare (very good), coconut curry ceviche (not a very strong curry flavor, but delicious, plus its fun to harvest some of the coconut with your knife or fork, if your dinner partners are amenable to a little mess), salt and pepper calamari (tasty sauce), steamed duck buns (delicious), coconut and jicama salad (good), poached prawn salad (wonderful flavors and textures), shitake mushroom dumplings (sublime and smooth), dry dried green beans (very good, and less oily here than many other places), and two orders of the black cod (a fabulous dish, we almost always get this one). It was a nice leisurely dinner, we were in a corner so it was easy for all of us to converse, the service had just the right amount of attentiveness.

The hoisin & coffee glazed spare ribs were a particular treat, and I felt particular gluttonous as I didnt have to share them with my oddly uninterested (in the ribs) fellow dinners. Great location and prices for happy hour in the city.If youre catching up with a good friend, a huge upside is being able to hear the other person and not being squished in this spacious venue.The White Rabbit cocktail was visually very appealing but too sweet to my taste.Happy Hour includes $1/per oyster which is a good deal for reasonable quality corresponding to the price point. Ive noticed that in San Francisco, the relationship between the cost and quality of oysters and very closely tied. The atmosphere was nice. I enjoyed our food, the gluten free dishes we had were good and I am a big fan of kabocha squash, so it was easy choosing for me. The seats a bit close, but they have a gluten free menu. All the fare is Asian inspired and they have a good options for adult drinks. The bathrooms are down the stairs, and Im not sure if there is an elevator for accessibility...please call them. There are a lot of seating in nooks and cranies...so it can be cozy...just not where I sat. It is downtown... So, please take an Uber or Lyft.

Fantastic experience at Chinese new year. Surprisingly no wait when we went in. We were able to see some of the parade from our seats. Food was tasty and unique. Towards the end of dinner they even featured dragon dancers in the restaurant!
