One of my favorite steak restaurants in the Valley. I was surprised that even on Valentines which is such a busy day, we didnt feel rushed and had excellent service! We enjoyed a delicious four course meal.
We’ve been coming to Ernie’s for special occasion dinners since 2015. We’ve have NEVER been disappointed. Their food is amazing and delicious. We are always honored to be guests with their suburb service. Each employee is amazing and will make you feel welcomed and special. We tell all of our friends co-workers and friends about this restaurant. Even though it is pricy, it is worth EVERY penny! You will not be disappointed! Try it, even once. Oh and yes, this is not Outback Steak House! You pay separate for sides, which can feed at least three people. It’s a very classy restaurant, same as any other. If you are offended by the price or the side dishes, maybe you should go to Outback.
Best food I had in a long time. Ernies is a beautiful top notch restaurant with amazing service and we had the best time celebrating our anniversary here. We definitely will be back soon. A real jewel in Manteca for fine dining.
Excellent service I gotta hand it them. The staff are charming and on their game. Fresh flowers at the table and some of the best French Onion soup I’ve ever had around Stockton, Ernie’s is a great option for those of us looking for a hot steak on a steamy Central Valley night paired with an impressive selection of wines. I want to shake Ernie’s hand next time. I gotta hand it to him. The wine? Gotta have it! There’s even a tunnel of wine guiding you to the restrooms representing the great continuum of replenishment. The overall atmosphere is cozy albeit dated. I wish those stone tiles and carpet aged as well as the Chateau La Mission Haut-Brion Pessac-Leognan 2009 Red Bordeaux Blend. Now that’s sophistication for ya.

Elegant resturant with considerate employees. Ordered red wine at first, then heard the chefs speical that day was seabass with tomato and cheese risotto with grilled vegtables and decided to change my mind for a white wine paired with the fish. It was delectable. No extra chrage for the wine change. Would highly recommend due to the excellent quality of food, drink, and employees. Didnt even know we had such a jem of a resturant in the city of manteca.
This is a “classy” restaurant in an unlikely place. After getting past the shabby parking lot, the inside was nice.Being on a company budget, I could only afford the airline chicken (look it up, I had to).Chicken was good, potatoes good, and the veg was amazing, especially the brussel sprouts (very surprised).The bread was good sourdough and the service was good.

Was a little hesitant when I seen the exterior of the building. But this place did not disappoint restaurant looked amazing, food was great, service was good. I have no complaints.
Amazing food, amazing service. The staff are willing to cater to your needs. What else can I say. The food speaks for itself. Filet mignon and braised bison ribs.
Ernies cuisine was exquisite! The staff and service was incredible! I had the Sea Bass and it was cooked to perfection! Definitely will go again!
Nice place for Manteca prom dates. But not for families. We are from out of town… Went here for my husband’s birthday. We knew it was going to be expensive but we spent 300 plus and only ate half the food. The ribeye was cooked and seasoned to perfection, glazed carrots were good, and Mac and cheese was just ok. Brussel sprouts were over baked and wayyy too oily and the fried crab rice was so spicy none of us could eat it. My husband also ordered lamb which just wasn’t seasoned well enough for either of us. It seemed like a good cut of meat and it was cooked well but we did not enjoy the mixture of mustard and blackberry and mint? The waitress compensated us for the crab rice which was nice but the staff did seem offended that I even complained about he spice. They asked if we wanted dessert but did not offer the complimentary birthday cake slice that someone pictures below. I expect better customer service from an “upscale-place” like this. Also no diaper changing station. Had to change my child on our dining table. Guess if you have a baby they don’t want you to eat here?
Had a ladies night out on a Friday. It is deceiving parking in a crowded strip mall and walking up to the doors. When you walk inside it is a lovely atmosphere and the table we sat at was very nice, the booth was comfy. It was not busy at 6pm. The staff was welcoming and the manager and chef came by to check on us. I ordered the chicken marsala and substituted gnocchi for the mashed potatoes. It was a great choice. Lots of delicious mushrooms and the chicken was well cooked. Several others ordered seafood and said it was good. We ordered the affogato and it was absolutely delicious!!!!! Best part of the meal... Cons: The bread pudding was dry and they didnt know how to make my drink. Overall good experience!

The Halibut had very little taste, server just said she was sorry. Staff were very nice but felt we were inconveniencing the server. Been in this business for many years, thought a manager should have checked with us when the food was not as expected. Wouldnt recommend, wish it wasnt so. Disappointed, sorry.

Wonderful place to eat. My wife and I went here for an anniversary dinner. We requested to sit on the patio, the server obliged and even turned the heaters on for us. It was very nice as we were the only couple on the patio. Service was amazing, came by the table just enough to make sure we were doing well, all while allowing us to enjoy our meal with out being bothered. Food was great, one of the best steaks I have ever eaten. The fall salad was wonderful, the mashed potatoes were epic. Truly amazed by this little gem tucked away in a corner of Manteca.
We had such a wonderful and delicious dinner at Ernie’s on 5-21-2022!!!! The food was impeccably prepared and the service was top notch!!! Our server was Tallie and we couldn’t have asked for better service!! She made sure our every need was met! It was such a relaxed evening and we are so grateful that our entire experience was not rushed and we were able to enjoy each others company over a wonderful meal!!! The staff is very professional and makes sure throughout that you have water, bread, etc. The rib eye steak was perfect and my husband enjoyed his hamburger & fried. Pricey but this is fine dining! Wine selections are exceptional.
This place is an absolute diamond in the rough. It shares a parking lot with the casino, but once inside, a beautiful ambience awaits. The cocktails were perfectly made and the food shared the same level of perfection in taste. This is a fine dining experience in Manteca with a pricetag similar to Mortons. If you are celebrating an event and find yourself in Manteca, this place will surely be a memorable meal to share.
We had a marvelous family celebration made even more special by the warm, attentive staff. Everyone made us feel welcome. Rosa was fabulous! The food and drink were first rate from appetizers to desserts! Every dish unique and delicious. We will definitely return.
We had reservations for an early Sunday dinner and everything was fantastic. Rosa was a wonderful attentive server. The food, drinks and desserts are amazing. Will be returning, dont let the outside or price detour you. Worth every penny. Great dinner for our anniversary!

Drinks were good. Wedge salad was delicious. We ordered a ribeye steak and 3 sides. Mac and cheese pasta was not cooked all the way. We had to sent it back. The second serving was way better. We could taste the truffle. The creamed spinach was ok. Kinda lacked flavor. I was hoping it would have a savory flavor but it was cream heavy. The Potatoes au gratin were really good. The steak was NOT good. We were so sad. It was the aged steak and it had the strangest flavor. Overall we think well skip on a second visit.
My wife and I had a wonderful experience at Ernies this past Sunday. It is a hidden jem, Ive lived in Manteca for 4+ years and just now found the place.The hostess and wait staff we very courteous, polite, and very attentive to our needs at the table.The setting is very high class mellow type, if that makes sense. Business casual attire. The lighting is great, most higher end restaurants are too dark so this was nice. Seats in the booth were comfy, no complaints.Now the two reasons I knocked off 1 star was because my steak was a bit more rare than what I had ordered, it was still delicious and not undercooked to point of it being inedible. And the waitress didnt bring more bread while we were waiting for our steaks, not a huge deal and the bread was really delicious.Overall Id recommend them to anyone looking for a high quality dining experience. And my wife and I will definitely be returning in the near future.

This place is a hidden gem right in Manteca! The food is phenomenal, and the atmosphere is very romantic and upscale. The staff was very professional and pleasant, and we didnt have to wait for our food very long at all, even though there was a full dining area. Dont expect to spend less than $100 for a dinner of two, but its definitely worth it. My only recommendation would be to make a reservation on a Saturday night as they may be booked in the dining area but you may still eat at the bar, which is just as nice. We will definitely go here again!

Food was wonderful. Really top notch. Went for lunch, I had seafood pasta and it was delicious. Others in my party had fork and knife steak sandwich and wild salmon entree. Both were cooked to perfection. Staff was friendly but, dont go if you are in a hurry. Service is at a leisurely pace.
Hubby and I went for our anniversary dinner last Friday and Ernies did not disappoint!We had got the crab cakes for an appetizer. One of the staff encouraged us to try the cakes with the ginger that was on the plate. Im not a ginger person but I went with his recommendation and WOW.. gamechanger! Hubby had french onion soup which he really enjoyed. I had the wedge salad, delicious!I had the 14oz. Ribeye with the cabernet reduction and he had the 21 day aged dry rub ribeye. Ah-mazing! They even give you a small side of sea salt & smoked sea salt to sprinkle over your steak. (If youre on the fence, just do it! Tastes great!) Their wine list/spirits menu is on a tablet which I liked.Honestly from the moment we walked in and were greeted by the hostess; to the moment we left, everyone was very kind and attentive. Thank you Ernies for making our anniversary date night (first in over a yr) a wonderful evening. I cant wait to twist hubbys arm to get him to take me there again😂
The wonderful Server she was not just beautiful yet elegant, and knew the menu. When we walked in we said Wow, walking into a Modern yet elegant restaurant it was quite an experience. I felt comfortable at once yet not judged for I was not dressed appropriately yet our Server treated us as we were special. The menu was not overwhelming I like that you are at a restaurant your not trying to read a book lolThe steak I ordered was amazing on taste and texture it was cooked exactly like I requested. We did not order dessert yet I wish to come back and try ( im sure it is.)The only thing that would set this to a 5 🌟 star is the lighting, I would have the lights be even softer. Ernies is a mid-high end restaurant for this area. The food is well prepared and flavorful, the service is extremely attentive, bar drinks were made with skill and understanding. We will return. Because of our situation we will probably only visit two to three times a year for special occasions.

My friends and I wanted to get together after a year of lockdowns to enjoy a nice meal together. One friend recommended Ernies and mentioned everything they tried so far was quite flavorful. We showed up in a party of five and was seated fairly quick with our reservation.I had the USDA prime ribeye, was a little fatty but still pretty flavorful and cooked to perfection. For sides we shared mashed potatoes (buttery), crab fried rice (it’s alright), crab asparagus (least favorite), Mac & cheese (sauceless), snap peas (crisp), mushrooms (flavorful), arugula salad, and sautéed shrimps. Had a Moscow mule and ice tea to drink and finished the evening off with cream brûlée for dessert.Interior was decent, staff is very friendly and attentive to detail. Everything was very flavorful and I would come back again in the future to celebrate special occasions.
This is way far from what they convey as San Francisco elite in Manteca. The menu was minimal, service just OK, food presentation lacking and atmosphere unimpressive.Theta was $162.00 for two was overpriced for what we experiencedWe wont be back. My birthday dinner was one I will not want to remember as rememberable! Manteca needs a fine dining restaurant, but Ernies is not it!!!!!!
We came here after we eloped and it was amazing. I was really surprised such a great restaurant was hidden in the city of Manteca. Drinks were made perfectly, the staff was friendly, the food was delicious and they even threw in a free dessert as congratulations.
What an exquisite dining experience. All around perfect--food, service (that is rare to find) and ambiance. We were traveling home on Hwy99 from a trip up to Oregon and Yelp led us there. Absolutely 5 Stars. We will look forward to stopping in again to this jewel in Manteca.
Exceptional service, very good food, nice ambience. Overall excellent value. Dinner for four, with drinks, wine, dessert, and gratuity ended up at $250.00, and we sat at table for 90 minutes after they closed and they never asked us to finish. Definitely will return.

My husband and I celebrated our 18th Anniversary at Ernies. The staff went above and beyond to make our evening extra special. The food was wonderful. The atmosphere was perfect. Please treat yourself to a night out at Ernies you will be glad you did.
The food is extraordinary. So is the service. They held roses for my wife until we arrived in the restaurant, then brought them to our table when we were seated. I had the French onion soup and my wife had the prawns. Both appetizers were amazing. The main courses, EFS Louie and filet mignon, amounted to three best food you can find in at least a100-mile radius.
Celebrated my birthday dinner and the food was fantastic. My brother said it was the best rib eye steak and the sauce was exceptional. I had an assortment of hors douvers - crab and bruschetta and cheese plate, yummy! Wait staff were fantastic with recommendations of wine and food presentation and atmosphere were high class. Highly recommend Ernies!
Ive worked in fine dining steakhouses and Michelin Star restaurants for the past 30 years. I have not had a meal this good in over 5 years. this is an amazing place tucked in a little corner that you would never notice from the street. Great wine selection fantastic cocktail selection and amazing food and service. Ive started with the French onion soup which Ive been having for over 20 years and I havent had one this good in 20 years. The beat salad was my second course the dressing was an amazing dressing light crisp and refreshing. Fresh greens and juicy flavorful beets. I had the 12 oz ribeye which was grilled perfection with season vegetables that were Al dente and perfect. I finished the night with a vanilla creme brulee which just melted in my mouth. If you like food, I mean really enjoy food go to Ernies! This has to be the best restaurant in the area.
Went for lunch on a Monday. Very nice inside. Started out with empanada appetizer. Really good flavor. They also give you bread and butter. The bread is delicious, crispy on outside and soft, airy and warm on the inside. My husband ordered a cup or bowl of french onion soup which smelled great and was very flavorful. He said his crab Louie salad was good also. I think my daughter had carrot curry soup with her filet sandwich, hope I got that right. It was yummy. I got a burger with side salad. Good experience, Chef came out and talked to us. Food is very good quality, great flavors. I am looking forward to trying dinner out. I will definately return for lunch to try out some more menu items
The food is spectacular, full of flavor, and the stakes are cooked to perfection, just to your liking, the desserts are always great tasting and they have a large variety of soft and alcoholic drinks if you are in Manteca and want a delicious meal stop by Ernies you will not regret it.
This cozy cute and quaint little Hidden Gem is going to put Manteca on the map! Lorena was my server giving outstanding customer service. Everyone there came by to check on me often. The food was beyond compare. Gourmet extra touches made it over the top! An absolute must. Im from Los Angeles and it is worth driving up here just to have this dining insperience again. Thank you for making it a dining experience Ill never forget!

Our friends had suggested this establishment. It’s a little more “fancier” for Manteca I guess. Didn’t understand what was so special about it. None of our food really “wowed” us. Just seemed ok. For the price o expected a little better. No desire to return.

The good:French onion soup, filet, potatoes roasted in duck fat. Wait staff friendly and attentive, although I think our waiter was a little drunk.The mediocre:Ribeye- little to no marbling and needed salt. (No, there isnt any on the table to add yourself). It was a little tough, ate more like a New York.Broccolini under cooked and under seasoned.Shrimp cocktail-on the small size, little freezer burned, bit fishy, but cocktail sauce is good.Ceasar salad.The bad:The cost. Too expensive for what you get.Prices should be about 25-30% less.Parking lot cramped.Bottom line: if you know how to grill, save some money and go pick up a couple of USDA Prime steaks at Costco.

Ernies Food & Spirits is an oasis in the restaurant desert that is Manteca. My husband and I have lived out here for a little over a year, and because there is nothing but chain restaurants, pizza joints or Mexican food everywhere you look in this town I was really surprised to discover that we had this type of greatness practically around the corner from our house.Discovered this place via the San Joaquin Magazine, Im vegetarian and the rave reviews about the Vegan Wings prompted my visit. I was not disappointed!We started off by ordering a few cocktails. I had the Truffletini (not as good as I thought it was going to be) and My husband had an Old Fashioned.Next came the 5 Onion Soup and well, that was AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS! I can see myself popping in for that soup often! The soup also went perfectly with my St. George Spirits Breaking & Entering Bourbon. (B&E is my favorite, its made in the SF Bay Area, and I usually cant get it outside of Oakland or Alameda)Our Entrees were FANTASTIC! My husband had the special (Duck with Risotto) and I had the Seafood Fettuccine minus the Sea Food. (the Chef gave me perfectly cooked veggies instead) We ended our food fest with, in my opinion, the only dessert that ever needs to be served. Creme Brulee.The service was fantastic! This is our 1st time in Ernies. So we are greeted by the hostess. Today December 11 2019. The hostess Takes us to the table we sit down. The hostess says he cant wear a hat in our dining Room to my husband. So of course my husband wants to leave. We did. My question is if someone comes in Wearing a turban do they get to stay. 2023-07-30 03:47:20The entire experience, from appetizer to dessert was superb. The service was impeccable and the food was amazing.Our server was wonderful. I wish I had made a note of her name, but she is in a couple pictures. She helped make the experience special.

2023-08-05 07:30:34The food here is exceptional.We ordered the crab cakes and French onion soup for starters, went with the NY steak and pork chop for our mains with a side of crab fried rice, and topped it off with the Affogato for dessert.The food here is great, but the mains we ordered were exceptional... Near perfect seasoning and cook on my steak (medium rare), and my wife loved the pork chop (medium)...

2023-08-03 14:55:06This was our first time here and we celebrate my wife’s birthday. The place was cozy and very romantic. Staff are very nice from the receiving and during the dining stay. Junior is the best. He even recommend the best drinks and food to us. We will definitely go back and eat again here. ❤️ Excellent customer service. Highly recommended place you will be mesmerized inside. 😊

2022-09-24 16:48:12Went for birthday dinner. Food was really good. Nice atmosphere. Great wait staff friendly and helpful. Because it was my birthday we got a complimentary dessert. Got the chocolate cake to share. Good thing I did. Delicious and very rich. I got the large plate scallops, cooked perfectly. Husband got the prime burger. He really enjoyed it. Daughter got the half chicken which she really liked. Large portion so had to bring some home. The only part of dinner that was slightly off par was the baked brie appetizer. The taste was great but was expecting the cheese to be larger then what we got kinda small. Just a minor complaint. Aside from that we had a great experience. Definitely recommend Ernies for a night out.

2022-04-16 17:38:27Best restaurant experience we have had in a while, from the friendly and accommodating staff to the delicious drinks and food. We started with the birthday cake martinis, then the French onion soup as an appetizer. My husband got the rib eye steak with creamed spinach and potatoes. I ordered the king salmon with crab fried rice and carrots. They are also kid friendly which is a huge plus. We will be back.

2019-04-02 02:03:21I was looking for a local spot to take my wife for our anniversary and was looking for something fancy and had a romantic setting. Ernies exceeded EVERY expectations! From the service, our waiter, the food, and the vibe. Just go check it out for yourself! I would give them six stars if I could. Make reservations too. Makes it extra special for any occasion.

The pic I shared is what I ordered which was $38 without taxes. Very delicious though 😋 nothing wrong in treating your self to a fancy dinner once in a while. Lol I saw in another review that they got a free dessert for their birthday. I went their with my friend, we were celebrating our birthdays and we didnt get a free dessert so I dont know how that works because the hostess did ask us if we were celebrating anything and I said our birthday. No biggy though. Oh and the bread is free refills, which is also very delicious with the butter and whatever the little house made thingy that was next to the butter. Forgot what it was called. 😅

2023-08-20 00:25:27I went to Ernie’s with a couple of friends and family. Very lovely and elegant place. However I was very disappointed with our server Junior. He seemed bothered with our table from the moment we got there and ignored us on several occasions when we tried to ask for drinks. My wife was very displeased, as it was her first time coming. It’s unfortunate because the food was great though. Not so much the service.

Sides are ordered separately, I got brussel sprouts, carrots, mashed potatoes. I think the drink I had was a.... Cuba Libre. Great, great, great, food.**update** My second trip. I took my wife there for her birthday. I had the NY strip steak and psn seared scallops. This time we tried a wedge salad, French onion soup, and a couple new drinks. Everything was great.
