Really cute place that is a definite must-stop. The prices are great and the diversity in product is so wonderful. You can really get anything you need here. The sushi is AMAZING and they have a great selection. They also have fresh juice, mochi, and more awesome stuff. You can stop here for lunch every day and get something new and yummy. I will definitely be back.
I f*cking love Farm Boy. I think I am addicted to their spicy tuna rolls. When I die of mercury poisoning, this will be the cause.In all seriousness, this is an amazing hidden gem in Sherman Oaks and I hope it sticks around forever. They have better sushi than most restaurants in the valley and it’s really cheap. The fresh squeezed juices are great and there is a wall of ready made foods a lot of which are vegan and gluten free. Not something I would have expected to find in a small grocery, but man am I glad I did.The only complaint is the parking lot which is shared with Trader Joe’s and Chase bank which needs to be three times larger. It always takes forever to get through the lot due to all the folks competing for spaces. I have learned to just avoid the parking lot and park on the street around the corner where there is plenty of parking.
Overpriced, old produce and complete lack of customer service.All 3 times Ive been there-trying to give an independent store a chance- unhelpful to rude customer service. And 2x the price of produce as trader joes & not nearly as fresh.
This is one of my most favorite shops. I love almost everything they have. It’s not the cheapest, but so delicious. Their sushi, bowls, salads, juices, I love it all and recommend for sure.
One of the best kept secrets in the valley. They have pretty solid korean sushi here, fresh produce and some korean food if youre looking for it. I think theyre started selling frozen yogurt too. If youre at Trader Joes and are about to buy the sushi there, come here instead. Youll thank me.
I love this place. Its rare to find a grocery store you can get good prices AND good quality produce. Their garlic and ginger are my favorites, stronger than any Ive tried from other places. They also have delicious sushi and various Asian vegetables and groceries. Let my weabu go free. Their daifuku is addictive, no joke about it
Something has changes and its for the better. The store has become more Korean specialty centric and thats awesome. You can but kimchee to special vegetables and fruits. There a juicer in the back who makes funky natural flavors like spicey lemonade and immunity boosters.Very clean and the people are friendly. The two Korean ladies up front are almost ashamed to acknowledge that theres a Korean influence in the items.Great store, awesome selection. Now we dont have to go to K Town to buy good kimchee. Some nice fruit and veggies in my neighborhood Korean market, cut and whole pieces, and priced reasonably. Not sure about their deli but baked goods can be pretty dated.
I love this little local store is run by cute and sweet hard working Japanese ladies, I unfortunately was overcharged for my $4 smoothie (charged $9). I like local places and know accidents happen. It is a little Asian market across from a TJs. Their dragonfruit smoothie was surprisingly yum.
I work now in Sherman Oaks and was wondering where my co-workers had went one day for lunch. One of them came back with some Kim Chi and I was astonished by him and the kimchi. SO I asked and thats when I had discovered Farm Boy. I made sure to make a trip here before heading to work. Its about 1-2 blocks away. The parking is quite small, but when you get here.. .the selection is quite nice. I wish though they served potato salad! Do they even have potato soup? Well I will have to check tomorrow when I go. They make tons of different side dishes here and they also make sushi. My favorite sushi plates to get from here are the spicy tuna cut roll and california rolls. They make the sushi and hook up with lots of tuna and/or imitation crab. The prices are nice and the staff is very warming and friendly! My to go place for sushi now in the san fernando valley.
I am not sure what I was expecting when I walked into Farm Boy on a rainy Saturday morning. Perhaps I was expecting insanely low prices, an abundance of fresh foods and friendly customer service….Sadly I didn’t get any of that.Farm Boy isn’t Trader Joes and it isn’t your typical market. It’s a homey niche store that has fresh smoothies, “fresh” sushi and an array of other precooked foods. They did have small sections of veggies and meats that were equally priced to Trader Joes but with a smaller selection (perhaps it’s a lot of things out of season).I did happen upon the sushi section which most options were sort of pricey but sizable. When I inquired about half rolls that lady “shooed” me away…don’t know what that was about. I settled upon a Brown Rice California Roll. For $6.99 (comes with 8 pieces) it was one of the cheaper options and exactly pretty tasty! Would highly suggest the sushi.I also decided on the chicken teriyaki bowl. This was well priced at $3.99 for a bowl. The contents did lack flavor but it was cheap and filling. Would skip out on the bowl esp cause it was lacking teriyaki.I would appreciate if there were Expiration dates on the cartons but I am assuming all the food here is made fresh daily and nothing is recycled for the next day. Nothing displayed the day these items were made and seeing that it wasn’t much foot-action I can only assume the worst. But hey you never know right and I didn’t get sick so it must have still been good. Eat same day to avoid confusion.Overall cute little place. I think I will return in the spring to get a better price/selection.
Farm Boy is a hidden gem in Sherman Oaks. I live nearby and often rely on them for mid-week produce and staple runs. They also have fresh flowers and lots of fun prepared food. Their cowboy cookie dough has become a favorite in my household!
In the same parking lot as TJs, this food oasis captures simplicity in fresh veg and seasonal fruits with ease. If fresh sushi is your thing, come on in! Great!
The staff is always friendly, very affordable food and groceries. i usually get maui rambutans from there, but today i got some and when i ate a couple when i got home, one of them was horribly rotten when i bit into it and smelled like cottage cheese. to make matters worse, in the corner of the package was what looked like a dead worm or maggot. the place has amazing food, but please inspect any fruit or veggies you get from there. i will still come here, just not for rambutans haha.

I love this place. Really cute. Alot of home made dishes. But I had a really aweful/scary allergic reaction to their fried spicy chicken slider. Delicious. But my face got very hot and red tingly. I had to take a Benadryl.
Hands down the BEST place to buy apples and $6 orange juice for atleast a half mile (except for the supermarket 10 feet away). The employees are great. They never cheat us or throw hot coffee in our face. My six year old Son really loves their bathroom when he has to pee. All in all its the best place in the world for their sort of thing. When I asked my six year old Son to sum up Farm Boy in one sentence he was excited to reply... I dont know . Ahhh, from the mouths of babes!
As an avid home chef, this produce stand or mini produce market located across from Trader Joes in the heart of the San Fernando Valley area is one of my favorite places to shop for fresh produce when Im in the mood to cook. Farm Boy has everything that I love and more from a local produce market. For one thing, the prices are decent for fresh produce and they have items that could never find at Trader Joes. I also dont have to wait for the weekly farmers market to buy fresh produce, because Farm Boy has the same items readily available 7 days a week.The variety of fresh seasonal fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers is a small one and it looks like the majority of items comes from our local farms. There is also a tiny variety of Asian produce like ginger, bok choy and lemongrass when youre in search for seasonal Asian produce that is not sold at the Trader Joes.However, what I really like about Farm Boy is the convenience of ready made, grab and go cold foods to eat when my busy schedule prevents me from cooking in my own kitchen. Because the owners are Korean, they sell Asian food items like Korean Kimchi, Chinese Chicken Salad, Sushi Rolls, cold Teriyaki Chicken on rice, and a variety of Korean Banchan (appetizers) made from the fresh produce. There are also a selection of ready made chefs salads, salsas, veggie plates, and fruit bowls.Then theres the healthy pressed juices, which is what brings me back to Farm Boy on a regular basis. On the premises, they make the fresh pressed juices like beet juice, orange juice, apple juice, and the basic green cleanse juice on a daily basis. Ive tried every single one of them and each one tastes pretty good and very fresh.There are so many good things to say about my favorite local produce market especially the hot miso soup that I always have to get before hitting the road.
A true “Find”, right in parking lot for Trader Joe’s. Has that “family operated” feel. Delicious prepared foods! Mostly Korean and Japanese foods.
Honestly the best sushi I have had in California. Whenever I come to LA I leave extra time go make sure I can stop here to get some. One of the best places in the valley for sure.

These guys have been a God send during this crisis. They have been fully stocked of produce. They have been clean, safe, and the staff has all been wearing masks, gloves, and face coverings. Theyre also cheaper than most other places!
Great prices and great selection of produce. The pre- packaged meals they have are also packed full of flavor! Hands down an amazing find, it defintely puts its neighbor Trader Joes to shame.
Farm Boy is a great place to stop by during a Trader Joes run for certain produce items that TJs doesnt carry. Though the real draw for Farm Boy is probably the prepared foods like sushi, various Korean dishes, and the frozen yogurt.
They carry my favorite tea Tea Onic, the lady even took down my phone number to call me when more of the items come in.Small store, it has a funny odor, but they have great PRODUCTS!!!!
This place is a hidden gem, so I dont want people to keep discovering it ;/ they started as a small market with froyo and amazing sushi, now they have bimbap, variety of asian salads, and sushi prices wet up ;( but its the best takeout sushi out there!!! Friendly service too

But I dont like the fact that they have a bad habit of keeping the receipt and not giving it.. or if I do ask for a receipt then it has no information about what I purchased unlike in regular stores, where things are itemized.

2021-11-23 01:27:45This place is very hit or miss. The sushi is ok, though the rolls are made pretty largely and sloppily. The baked goods are awful (zucchini brownies are flavorless, and peanut butter cookies overly sweet and oily), and the fruit is often bruised or overripe. The main reason I wanted to write a review is that their allergen and ingredient labeling is not good; some of the dishes seem to be missing ingredients on the labels, including major allergens. If you have any serious allergies, I do not recommend eating food from here.

The Vegan Egg Rolls the make and sale her hot and fresh are amazing. The offer a lot of miac good too such as mask, gloves and sanitizer for sale. I come here for snacks, lunch, etc. Always an easy in and out with a ton of options for everyone regardless of dietary needs. The also sell CBD water!
