Felixs BBQ With Soul in Lake Elsinore

This location didn’t deliver to what I am used to. I’m use to five stars on everything from this restaurant. We were welcome as we entered the restaurant. Our server was BEE and she was attentive to our requests. We had more to go meals than dine in orders and she handled our complex orders correctly. She came back to check on our table to insure we were ok. The vibe was comfortable and laid back. No rushing here, which is great. We ordered our drinks and food. Food and drinks came pretty quickly. The greens were delicious as well as the Mac N’ cheese. The ribs……. Here is where they missed the mark. I had the Baby Back Ribs and the St. Louis Spare ribs. The meat was tough and in some areas of the rib was overcooked (burnt). The fried catfish had the perfect amount of seasoning. The cornbread arrived with the meal warm and it is very tasty. We were served a proper portion of food for the price. I have enough leftovers for a full plate of food for the next day. This location does offer scan and pay through the QR code. Apple Pay and Google pay is acceptable. Credit cards and cash is acceptable. There is public parking on the street or in the back of the restaurant.

First time eating here and we were blown away by how great this beautiful little restaurant was! The ribs succulent and juicy! Mac n cheese just like granny used to make it! The Cole slaw outstanding! Staff were friendly and happy. I definitely will be going back...soon!

Our waitress name was Cynthia and she was absolutely amazing from her personality to the service. My family and I were very well pleased with her. Ask for Cynthia to be your waitress. You won’t be disappointed at all. We ended up giving her a great tip for her service. The food was great as well, especially, someone coming from Philly.

Casual restaurant located in old town. If you don’t find parking in front, you can park on the street or in the back lot. I ordered to go and wasn’t disappointed. THE MONROE SPECIAL vegetarian sandwich, was flavorful and served on soft, warm bread. We also grabbed a side of mac and cheese which wasn’t my favorite but still very much edible. The star of the show is their JAMBALAYA. You can have it with pasta or rice (we chose rice) and it was nothing short of delectable.

Bob Marley Stir It Up played on a Sunday afternoon and we knew vibes would be just right.The Louisiana Classic (Catfish fried with corn meal, sides: collard greens & sweet potato fries ) was amazing. Portions are huge and I immediately split the meal in half & decided it would be dinner in a takeaway. Food came in less than 20 minutes from the time we placed our order & the waitress was nice.Ordered the sweet potato cheesecake for home. Cant wait to come back.Best Sunday late lunch after a 3.2 miles walk at Lake Elsinore!

This place was amazing I can’t wait to go back and bring friends. The catfish was the best I ever tasted. I ordered a peach Long Island tea and let’s just say I only needed one since it was family day but best believe I’m coming back and did I mention it was HAPPY HOUR ( doing a happy dance) The cornbread was perfect . The atmosphere and the customer service is top tier..

Well omg, if you’ve ever had southern cuisine actually while in the south, eat here, you’ll think you’d died and gone to heaven.Been there several times and the food is consistently excellent. Wild caught Delta catfish, collard greens, black eyed peas and more, oh the mashed potatoes and gravy all tastes, just like you were in the south somewhere YUM!You know that edge, of flavors that pushes authentic food over the top!?! They have it!

Decided at the last minute to go to this restaurant and we were not disappointed. We were given warm cornbread muffins with whipped butter when we sat down. Wow they were delicious!! Soft in the middle and a little crunchy around the edges with a slight taste of sweetness. The fried green tomatoes were some of the best we have had. Fried with cornmeal that does not over power the taste of the tomatoes. Main coarse we had baby back ribs, catfish, red beans and rice and coleslaw. Meat fell off the rib bones. The catfish was fried in cornmeal and was crunchy and flaky. Everything we put into our mouths was so so good.Almost forgot the sweet tea. Holy cow!! I am from the south and love my sweet tea. I never order it if not in the south because it usually isnt very good but Felixs is fantastic. Sweet but not syrup and not bitter at all.So glad we choose this place and we will definitely come back. Still want to try the gumbo and fried chicken.

I love Felix BBQ, it IS one of the best soul food restaurants in Southern California. The food is always seasoned just right 👍🏾💯 The service was also great. But the one in Carlsbad, their meat was so tender, u dont need teeth to eat their ribs ☺️🥰 Thz Felixs BBQ & I am praying that one day u will open a restaurant a lot closer to Los Angeles 🙏🏾 💯🥳💫 God bless!!
