I was in Aliso Viejo for a paint class and decided to dine at this new establishment. Its located in a shop center and theres a bookstore and movie theater nearby. I arrived in the late afternoon on a Saturday and was greeted cordially by the staff. The place is contemporary and chic, but has a casual vibe.I ordered wine and an appetizer and it was very good. I was sitting alone which sometimes makes me feel invisible. I ordered the main dish and then my server did not come back to check on me or to get my beverage order. The chicken pesto was fantastic, although the broccoli could be a bit softer. It was almost raw which made cutting with a knife hard. I had to press for a server to bring me the drink list and take my order. That was my disappointment. Its a common problem and Im mentioning to create awareness that solo diners should get the same attention that larger parties do.Other than that, it was a really great experience and I would return.Thank you for the hospitality.

Such a nice addition to the culinary selections in Aliso Viejo. The hostess is very friendly and approachable. Our server was knowledgeable and prompt. We ordered few starters each one was flavorful and fresh. The salmon bowl, salmon sandwich and chickpea bowl we ordered were presented artfully and the flavors and spices were just nicely blended.The portion sizes are not huge and are not too small.

First of all, the hostess is extremely nice and upbeat. She warmly welcomed us when we arrived and asked how our meal was when we left- an unexpected and nice touch.Our server was also very pleasant and attentive recommending dishes/drinks (however no booze is available yet) but the mocktails and lemonades were very tasty and refreshing. Our food was promptly served and everything was delicious. Really if anything, would suggest having some sides offered with the wraps and sandwiches. looking forward to checking out brunch soon!

Great atmosphere and decor, it feels welcoming and trendy. The staff were friendly..Good food selection; bowls, salads, seafood, vegetarian. They have a separate bar section too. Great for groups as well.I ordered a steak Kabob bowl and it came with brown rice, kale salad and hummus so plenty of protein. It was flavorful. The Affogato was delicious but pricey.

Great new spot here in Orange County. They are very friendly and accommodating. The ambiance is great and the food is one of the best I have ever had. Its not your traditional Mediterranean restaurant but its even better. There is a fusion of flavors that is simply delicious. I have been here twice and have tried a few different dishes and they all have been great. The prices are fair and the portions are just right. I definitely recommend this restaurant and I am hoping they open one in Newport.

Our new favorite Mediterranean restaurant. Their hummus is to die for and we crave it for weeks after eating here. Sometimes we order two orders for two people. Their flavors are delicious with all the entrees we have tried. The protein bowl is the perfect mix of veggies steak rice and hummus. And if you get the kabob plate you have to splurge for the filet mignon option because it melts in your mouth. My mouth is watering just writing this review. Plus their service is top notch. We will definitely recommend 10 out 10 restaurant.

Fresh fresh salads. Nice friendly place and staff. Nice change of pace from the heavy fried fare. Very good pesto chicken sandwich with a small but tasty side salad. Pleasant surroundings with a clean modern feel. Try it.

Fennel Kitchen & Bar exceeded our expectations during our unplanned lunch visit. We started off with the fresh grapefruit juice, which we learned is only available on weekends when they serve brunch until 3 PM. The juice was incredibly refreshing and set the tone for a delightful meal.My husband opted for the salmon sandwich, a delectable combination of grilled salmon, arugula, goat cheese, cucumber, dill, and kale pesto sauce on artisan bread. He thoroughly enjoyed every bite, praising the perfectly cooked salmon and the harmonious blend of flavors.I chose the Mediterranean wrap with beef kabob, tomatoes, onions, parsley, and fresh herbs, accompanied by a spicy house schug sauce. The wrap was bursting with Mediterranean flavors, and the tender beef kabob added a satisfying texture. The accompanying schug sauce provided just the right amount of heat.Impressed with the quality of food, we decided to make a dinner reservation for the weekend on our way out. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere that adds to the overall dining experience. The staff provided excellent service, and our waitress was attentive throughout our meal, ensuring we had everything we needed.Overall, our experience at Fennel Kitchen & Bar was outstanding. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was fun and friendly, and the service was wonderful. We cant wait to return for dinner and explore more of the culinary delights this restaurant has to offer!

Came here for a family birthday dinner and cant wait to come again. The setup is so beautiful and organized and the staff is very friendly. The food was wonderful and the only thing I can trouble with was the bones in the fish (thats on me though). Cant wait to come back here again. The lavendar lemondae is amazing!!

Salmon sandwich was delicious and so was the barley risotto lamb. If you are used to big portions these were not big portions. It was perfect for me and I already want to have the salmon sandwich again
