This is insane! I never thought we only spent 60 dollars for 2 girls for dinner! And we didn’t eat all of it! We took the fish home! The food is freaking delicious and cheap! I can’t believe how big the bowl is for braised beef noodles! It’s like twice as big as my head! The nice gentleman told us two bowls noodles will be too much for us and he suggested us to order only one! After we ordered, three dishes came within 10 minutes. Definitely will come back again and again! Comeeeeee!!!!!!!!!

Absolutely loved every single dish at this restaurant. Very authentic Chinese dishes and flavors. Not so overwhelming if you’re not used to the strong Chinese flavors. We hosted a large event gathering here and they were able to accommodate our group of 40 people. Lots of seating.

Food is amazing. Very very great value restaurant. Food came out hot and fast. I really enjoyed their noodles and their boiling pot dishes. It was filled with meat and fish and veggies-they dont skimp out on portion sizes. Its very good. The decor is fairly nice and has a mid-upscale feeling. Also super interesting is that they also offer hot pot and the prices for that are pretty reasonable too!

We had a really terrible dinner on Thanksgiving day there. The first dish was served with left-over without properly heating up. After a few bites, we noticed the meat was rotten with strong sour taste. The waiter acknowledged the problem and took away the dish right a way. Unfortunately, we all had a few bites already and one of people in the family got serious symptom of food poisoning with vomiting and really serious diarrhea a few hours later in the night. Other people in the party had diarrhea at different levels. It was such a horrible experience. Hope it wont happy to other people in the future.

This place is SO GOOD!! It’s kind of slept on but you have to try this sichuan place. The portions are huge with great value, the menu is huge with lots of veggie options (we got 回國豆腐 or twice cooked tofu and 地三鮮 three treasures of the earth) and everything was delicious. The interior is nicer than the average Chinese place and kind of upscale, good for a nice Chinese dinner but prices still quite reasonable

This place is amazing!! Theyre dishes are so rich of flavors, good spices, everything is perfectly cooked, simply delicious! Kind of pricey, but the food is too good. I recommend the Chounshing Chicken (I usually get the boneless, but both are equally good!), I get steamed white rice, also Boiled Fish, and Boiled Beef, and the cold noodles are my favorite dish, its so. Good. Cold noodles are basically pretty spicy, rich, noodles, that are cold. Simple, yet phenomenal. Theyre tea is also good, and I love how they give out water with ice, most places dont. The service is pretty good too. I come here with friends, and sometimes alone, regardless, this Chinese restaurant is a very nice, sheek setting. When you walk in, one of the first things you see, is a big, thin water tank with about a dozen beautiful, strange looking orange fish, really cool, bathrooms are always clean as well. A solid 5 stars.

I was in the mood for Chinese food, so ordered take out from here. The restaurant seems nice inside with ample seating and a cool fish tank. Only a few gluten-free options on the menu. Ordered Broccoli Chicken and a side rice. The larger pieces of broccoli were undercooked (which I suppose is better than overcooked).. The white rice was perfect. I added some GF soy sauce and sweet chili sauce on my meal that helped to juj-it-up!

Oily fried rice, not even fried, so so won ton soup, not friendly service, nor did the man serving stop one time to ask if everything was OK, or if we needed anything, hate tovsay it but i think the man didnt like us, maybe because we arent asian, he seemed more tentative and friendly to the few asian customers .wasnt even busy. This location, the Chinese Inn 40 + years ago, my father would take us there, was the best . Guess thats just a good memory .

I visited this restaurant over the years. The service was never great but acceptable.However, on August 19, the waiter who took our lunch orders had a major attitude problem. When we asked for the manager. The waiter shouted there was no manager on site. We walked out. Will not return again.

Customer service:First, we were not greeted or even glanced a look at the entrance by the owner sitting at the entrance desk.Secondly, while waiting for us to decide our orders, the owner was impatient, pacing back and forth, and while taking our orders he was rude and condensing.And yet, when caucasian customers entered, he was kind and helpful. The complete opposite when servicing us.We greeted him at the entrance and he did not respond. When a caucasian customer entered, he immediately greeted them and offered them his services. We thanked him when taking our orders, in which, he ignored. When other customers entered, he thanked them. To give background, we are Taiwanese-Americans.Food:Green onion pancake - Good, crispy, and authenticSweet Soy Milk - Normal, good, nothing specialBeijing Style Tofu Pudding - my dad in the hospital enjoyed it and he normally doesnt have much of an appetiteChinese Donut - not authentic, not crispy, not goodSalty Rice Ball - my Taiwanese born and raised mom said not authentic and not good. I think it was okay, too salty, but cant say i would order it againLastly, the most disappointing, the Steamed Pork Buns (showed in the picture):Cold, no soup in wrapper, shriveled, not good, not authentic.We had taken it to go for my dad in Stanford Hospital to eat, and when we opened it up at the hospital, about 15 minutes after receiving it, it was rock cold. To compare, the tofu pudding was still hot and recieved and opened at the same time.We considered ordering again from this restuarant whenever my dad craved Chinese/Taiwanese food given how close this restaurant is to the hospital. We wouldve ordered again even with the owners rude attitude for my dad.However, given that even many of the food is not authentic or good, and on top of that the rudeness of the owner, we have decided to toss the take-away menu and never go back again.We were polite and not disruptive. Dont know if it matters to mention but we did tip. But even when leaving the restuarant after we said thank you, the owner still did not respond, and we were ignored.He seemed nice to the other customers and some of the food is good but overall for us, this is not an establishment that we would like to support again.

My mom was craving soy milk and youtiaos so we stopped by. I had low expectations and was pleasantly surprised by the portion size and taste of most of the dishes. Their youtiaos are really massive and come out fresh, the Beijing sweet bing are like a Chinese funnel cake. The Beijing tofu nao was legit. The beef noodle had very soft tendon and good broth. The pork ribs were mediocre but edible. Waiter might be impatient but the buslady was very nice.

Really nice place. Great service. Bit pricey for what it is (standard American Chinese food). But it tastes good and hits the spot when you are craving some American style Chinese food. Solid 4/5, but never disappoints. You should give it a chance!

The spicy food here is ok. Do not order sweet/sour food, especially Beijing Style Sweet and Sour Spareribs, if you expect authentic Chinese food. The meat is not fresh, and the sauce is like the sauce of orange chicken.

We were staying at the hotel next to the restaurant. Wanted to order some takeout food to have later in the evening when things were closed. Ordered an appetizer and an entrée for two people, when the gentleman rang us up he repeated the order, we asked if Rice was included he said no so we asked for fried rice with that. Another $12 added to the bill and we received a portion of rice that was larger than the one entrée we had ordered. Got back to the room and he had not included the spicy oil sauce and soy sauce that was requested. The food was very good rice was delicious, but I felt that the service could’ve been a little friendlier and helpful.

I used to like this restaurant a lot. We would eat here on every trip. Until my last visit a few weeks ago. The waiter was rude. There’s nothing great about the service, so I left a 10% tip. He had the nerve to tell me it’s not enough started pointing to the receipt where the suggested 15%-20%-25% rates for tips should be. Incredibly rude especially in front of my guests. Sorry buddy tips are not mandatory. Great service will get you a great tip. Average service average tip. I’m never going back here again. Absolutely unacceptable attitude from the waiter. Jerk.

There are five star restaurants that deserve more than five stars and thats probably why Im writing a review here. FEY is a somewhat odd Chinese restaurant. It has a menu of authentic Chinese, especially Szechuan and Cantonese, in the middle of Atherton and Menlo Park where Asians are not known to gather. It also serves American Chinese foods, which imo is a waste of talent and hard to say a good call since its competing with the price of Pandas for that category. As much as Im dubious about whether they have a clear plan of what market theyre targeting, Im very certain that their food can be placed on the tables in those hundred million dollar mansions around without any feels of strangeness.

Seemingly authentic but surprisingly bland Chinese restaurant. Be careful what you order as the staff cannily bring you food different to what you intend. Example when asking for a bowl of soup they will ask u how big. They mean a size for the entire table...almost a cauldron. We ordered beef and chicken dishes which were clearly fresh produce but unfortunately lacking in flavor. Thought it would be enough food for 2 but in reality was enough for 6 very hungry adults. Great value then. A very mixed bag.

I came here with my parents and they were extremely rude. They kept asking 4 times in quick succession if we were ready to order yet. They rushed us while we were ordering and werent nice when we asked questions. When my mom asked about the price of the soup being different from her memory, they just said something like its obviously 13 not 9. There were different size soups, which she didnt realize, and I explained to her, but the waiter was extremely rude about it. Then, later, as my dad was signing the receipt, a waiter was on the phone, put it on hold, just to grab it as my dad was looking at it, and walked away. This was a horrible dining experience. I would not recommend it, and would never come back. My parents and I were upset and felt extremely disrespected. To top it off, the food was too salty.

Fried chicken wing is not fresh. The meat tasted really bad. The waiter didn’t respond when I made the complaint. Also, be aware of double tipping. The 15% tip is included in their bill. However when the receipt comes out, it suggests you to tip again. Stay alert.

Food is pretty good, though a bit greasy. The waiters are hit or miss. Sometimes they provide decent service sometimes pretty bad service. Specifically, there is a male waiter who appears to either not understand requests or passive aggressively misunderstands and doesnt bring basic requests like rice or water promptly and instead takes 10+ minutes to perform the request. I only go back when my friend wants to go there, but personally would avoid this restaurant due to the lack of consistent service.

I absolutely love Fey especially their long list of cold dishes. On a hot summer day their hot oil chicken is the best blend of spicy and cold. I order take-out from this place about once a week. Its very affordable and their service is quick and friendly.

I have been to this place many times over years, once a Michelin, now faded into the jungle of uncle Chen’s, a typical Chinese restaurant, nothing more or less, food is okay, and same to its price, nothing to be excited about. Recommend dine in than take out, once the food getting cold, it tastes like trader joe ready dinner pack.

I lived in China for 2 years and this place is as close to real Chinese food that you will get in a sleepy American town. We were staying at the Residence Inn about a block away, ordered online and then enjoyed. Very large portions and fairly priced.

Am so delighted to have a good Chinese restaurant in the neighborhood. The specialty is Szechaun food, but just ask if youd like the spicy toned down. All the standards are really good or at least solid, and theyve got some house specialties that are excellent.The decor is upscale for any kind of restaurant, much less a Chinese one in this area. Prices are reasonable. The only negative is parking -- if you can find a parallel parking spot on El Camino near by, just take it.

What a disappointment! I order sesame beef and sweet and sour pork. The sesame beef was horrible (mushy and I couldnt taste any meat, very fatty). And the sweet and sour pork was all grissel. I will never order hear again. Yuck! What a waste of money. Sorry FEYS Restaurant

I had one of the worst lunches in this restaurant. My family and I had a seafood soup that was okay and my parents ordered seafood dishes from the lunch specials while I ordered curry chicken. It was horrible. It had no curry flavor at all and it was just so bland. The chicken just tasted like what I think dog food would taste. I was ready to vomit on my fifth bite. I would not recommend the curry chicken to anyone.

I visited this restaurant twice: Sunday and Monday evening. The food here is so so, I won’t say it’s bad but it’s not very authentic and it definitely won’t be the top Chinese food restaurant in Bay Area. The service is very bad. It looks like they don’t care. I was pointed to a seat and no one greeted me. And both days were not crowded. No one asked whether I am ready to order. I don’t know if this is common in the Bay Area or just this restaurant.

This one received a Michelin recommendation 4 years in a roll, until 2017. Then they divorced. Nowadays, Michelin is an alternative word for food -not-worth-the-price in the Great Continent Dictionary. Anyway, food is good here, especially for its price, a king size Kungpo Chicken remains at $14 a dish (more than enough for an adult meal). Covid casts a long shadow on Fey than some other restaurants, it has more togos than eatins. I just went there last week with my mom and dad, I would say it is the best in our county (given how concentrated Chinese restaurant here, it is not a trivial praise.)

Very nice decorations. Good menu. Nice people. One would like to enjoy the food far more. The menu is scattered over many chinese regions, and I cant tell where the chef is from. The szechuan dishes dont have the bright flavors of that region, and very few peppercorns. In my last visit, the wontons fell apart, very poortly made. The tastes are never as vibrant and precise as this kind of food should be. There are a number of better chinese restaurants, such as Crouching Tiger in RWC, Chef Zhao in Palo Alto ( or the other Zhao in Mt View, bother are better ), or Da Sichuan in PA or the Burmese restaurants in Palo Alto. It is true that for specifically Menlo Park this is the most plausible Chinese restaurant, but the others I mention are only an extra 5 minute drive, or closer, depending on where you are. I am always so disappointed because the restaurant looks and feels good - why cant they upgrade the food a little? This place has a lot of native chinese visitors and feels very chinese, but the food is simply short of the mark.

Solid Schezuan food. Almost everything is spicy so make sure that you come here with people who love spicy food and lots of schezuan chili peppers and chili oil! 3.5/5 stars because the service is not the best. The portions are a good size and it is reasonably priced. The setting is very fancy and Ive seen people host some baby showers and parties in the back!Ive had the hot pot once which was pretty good (I recommend the spicy broth!) but we usually order dishes off the menu and share family style. Dishes can be hit or miss but here are some thoughts on what to order and what to skip:BEST dishes: Hot & Sour Soup, Twice Cooked Pork, Twice Cooked Tofu, Chongqing boiled fish, Chongqing Spicy Diced Chicken, Dry-Cooked String BeanOK dishes: Mongolian Beef, Kung Pao Chicken, Pork Dumplings, Garlic Chicken (a good dish for people who dont want to eat spicy food)Underwhelming dishes: Beijing Family Style Eggplant, Beijing Bean Sauce Noodles, Cold NoodlesThere is a small parking lot in the back but make sure you park in a spot where other people will not come in behind you and block your car.
