This is the spot. The food and the staff are great! My go to is 2 eggs over easy 2 bacon 2 sausage with hash browns. This quaint little spot had big appile and can serve up big breakfast.. My order has always been on point.. The only time I deviated was when I got a pancake over toast. And it was Money. Pancake was fluffy and delicious... love this place

I have found my new favorite breakfast spot in San Leandro, CA. I was delighted with the breakfast selections and the fast service. This is a small popular spot. Note there is no private parking available but plenty on the street if you get lucky. I tried the pineapple sausage breakfast with a side of toast and cottage cheese. My husband had the Korean BBQ breakfast, I had a few bites, it was delicious! Sauteed mushrooms, onions, spicy jalapenos, all combined with sliced marinated pork. So good!

Growing up in San Leandro, the Fifth Wheel was always a favorite spot and would be my traditional breakfast spot for my birthday each year. Decades later, this iconic restaurant still exists and they still do a fantastic job. The other morning I stopped by for their Traditional Breakfast with Korean BBQ pork and I was beyond impressed. The breakfast was full of savory flavor and they even offered to toss in some sauteed jalapenos which sealed the deal. The service is bright, bubbly and great at making sure youre well taken care of, particularly on the coffee. Cant wait to head back for some of those flapjacks!

A local favorite, indeed. If youre looking for a hearty meal and are sick of those chain restaurants, this is the place for you. Stray away from cartoned eggs and paper thin bacon and head to the Fifth Wheel for a legit breakfast. Keep in mind, there isnt much parking and the restaurant is small so try to avoid those peak hours; however, the food is worth the wait!

Had not been to the 5th Wheel for a while and it is much better than I remember... Some of the best pancakes I have had in a long time. Eggs and thick cut ham are very tasty and prepared really nicely done. Lokking forward to trying more of the menu on the next visit.

Friendly, efficient service, reasonable prices, and good quality food. Recently re-opened after an extensive modernization of the kitchen, the restaurant remains a cozy and well liked place for breakfast or lunch in San Leandro attracting locals and nearby Oakland residents. It is open from 6 am to 2:30 pm. One dish off the menu worth considering is loco mocco, essentially modern Hawaiian comfort food.

The owner is very abrupt and rude to the point of throwing condiments on the counter at me. She got upset and was nasty because of a miscommunication. It was busy. My adult daughter and I came in and signed up on the list. Went to step out, but my daughter asked me about sitting at the bar, owner is in the back, so I ask the younger waitress if it was ok to sit at the bar she said yes. We sit down, and the owner is back and yells at younger waitresses and is just not nice. The irony of this whole situation is that it appears that we were next anyway, so why have the nasty attitude. She was so offensive that my daughter is unwilling to spend another penny with this business inspite of how great the food is

The breakfast was fabulous. Eggs were over easy as I asked, bacon was crisp and thick and consisted of 4 generous slices. The pancakes were phenomenal and optimally sized. Hence I’m glad I asked for 3. My coffee was acceptable. So why not 5 stars? Because when she came by to ask if I’d like more coffee, I asked whether she might pour it in a cup to go (as I ask everywhere I go). This was the first time a server paused to say that would cost an extra dollar. So I asked if she would simply bring me a cup and I’d pour the rest of my coffee into it 🤷🏽‍♂️. She brought the cup. I still left a tip for the wonderful meal but no 5 stars!

I thought this place would be top-grade, but I counted my chickens before they hatched big time. Their food is average, not hype-worthy beyond their prices. The space inside is so tiny I would estimate a maximum of around 20 people could fit in. My biggest complaint is that the cooks don’t wear gloves when preparing food. I came here out of curiosity; to try this place out, and I’m not returning. Eating here may be a choice, but I wouldn’t recommend it.

This place is very hidden, it is a very small restaurant, if you have a big party it might not be convenient for you do to the limited space but food was good not great, I think is family own so our server seemed frustrated that there was 4 & 1/2 (3 year old grandson) of us and people had to go around us since is to small, I don’t think I’ll go back

Food was good, at-home type meal (but a tad better since you didnt have to do any work in the kitchen for it). Korean BBQ plate was very flavorful with a good amount of spice. This place definitely gets more crowded as you get into the later morning hours. In case you dont know (I had no idea when I first went.. and no one there told me), if youre just placing an order for takeout they ask for your number when they take your order. You are expected to wait outside or in your car (also no one told me my first time around). They send you a text once your food is ready, which I guess is supposed to help with the crowding inside. Servers could be better at keeping customers - especially newcomers - more informed of their system. Parking is also a challenge. That said, Id definitely come back and would choose this place over Nicks any day!

Finally made it here to try this place...its a very small but friendly diner type of establishment. I was in the area to visit a local sports store and had some time for breakfast. Looking on Google I decided to stop here. I am glad I did. Driving up I found a small green building that had me second guessing myself but when I found a parking spot right in front I pulled in. Inside is set up in typical diner fashion with a few tables and counter seating. I was seated promptly. I ordered French toast, eggs, bacon and coffee. All was excellent and I particularly enjoyed the crispy bacon. While I was enjoying my breakfast I noticed several people come in and pick up orders or sit down to eat. I must have got there just in time to avoid the rush. The staff was very pleasant and had excellent customer service. My coffee cup was never empty. I was checked on several times, not only by my waitress but by the other staff as well. This place was a pleasant surprise and I will defiantly be stopping in again when I am in the area. Highly recommended.

Im really glad we went to this place. Its a local diner and very genuine. Everyone was having a good time. There was a large diversity of people. The food was good and it was a good deal. It was real food, made from real ingredients. Much better than Wendys or Dennys. Just leaving the Oakland airport and needed some breakfast. I was with my mom. The dining area is quite small… But it was nice to see the kitchen and everything else going on. It was only about $9.50 a plate.

I’ve been coming here for a while. Today 9/24/21 I came in with my two year old daughter. We were very hungry coming from an early doctors appointment. We waited for a table for about 15 minutes after we seen a family of four leaving 5 minutes after our arrival. When a young couple comes up to dine in they did seat me and my daughter first, but then that was it. I watch the waitstaff ask them if they want anything to drink and she did grab them something and proceeded to take their order. I just got up with two year old daughter and left. Food is good but service is bias so I’ll keep my money or go elsewhere.

Me and my boyfriend went off of the great reviews of this place in hope that we’ve found a new breakfast joint to go to! However we were disappointed, we had gotten two breakfast orders with pancakes,bacon,and eggs. I was shocked when the food felt so heavy and greasy. Like if i was eating oil, i thought i just got a bad plate but my boyfriend felt the same. The worse part is later on after eating that my boyfriend felt sick. He got the runs!

Great breakfast meals, and lunch. Crowded busy because food is great, usually this is waiting for a seat. Service is fast. Very popular in San Leandro California. Has been here since the 1940s. Street parking available. Good price for food. Awesome place to bring family and friends. Coffee a little weak could be better. Overall I would recommend this restaurant. Come check it out.

So I dont know what to say thats any different than everybody else is review but I went to this place for the first time this morning and it was a Saturday morning around 1145 we had about a 10-minute wait its very small the food is very flavorful what a great little find. I made sure my order came with grits and they were how I remember them from being a kid in Augusta Georgia. Next time Im going for the Loco Moco that looks crazy good and they serve it the exact way they serve it in Hawaii.

I was honestly a bit disappointed with this place, after seeing the good reviews on here and elsewhere. Its a little bit of a novel atmosphere, since its kind of a hole-in-the-wall, nondescript diner in the middle of a large business area. But aside from that, nothing special. The food really wasnt much different than what Id get at a Waffle House or Dennys; eggs, bacon, and hash browns were entirely unimpressive, though the french toast was decent.Its not a bad breakfast spot if you happen to be really close by, but otherwise pass on this one.

Awesome and affordable classic diner. Ive been once and everyone at my table commented on how well their eggs were made. Hash browns were also crispy and delicious. A huge breakfast with three eggs, 6 pieces of bacon, hash browns and toast runs about 11 bucks. Owned by an asian family so they had a few rice and meat dishes, including korean bbq. I will be coming back.

Ive been coming here for 20 years and will be coming for 20 more. This place is just a gem, nothing pretentious or overly fancy, just good old fashioned diner breakfasts and fare that will leave you full and put a smile on your face. The owners havent changed in over 40 years and every time I come in Im greeted with a smile and a cup of hot Joe. If you like greasy spoon do yourself a favor and give this place a try, but please... leave pretentious opinions outside.

Way better than Dennys or IHOP. Coozy local diner that was established for the trucking community this the name and due to East 14th being a main Avenue of travel. Wish it stayed open later good luck getting a table better to just sit at the bar. Nice folk.Few things wish they had better quality eggs (organic free-range certified humane) and meat and legit locally roasted coffee.

This place is amaaazing. This is our go to breakfast spot. My favorite things here are the french toast and hashbrowns. The french toast is pillowy and custardy, and the hashbrowns are crispy on the top and soft underneath. Their basic breakfast is great. Coffee is amazing, and theyre always on point with refills. Your cup will never be empty! 4 starts instead of 5 because somedays our food is burned (hashbrowns, toast etc), and once my sausage was underdone.

Because I love grits and theyre not always offered at every joint. But for $7.75, I went for the chicken-fried steak...with grits.My plate of food came unadorned with flavorless and out-of-season fruit garnish or curly parsley. It came uncoddled by waitresses asking me if there was anything else I needed every ten-seconds. It did come with tender cubed steak with an ultra crunchy exterior -- so crunchy it never surrendered to sogginess -- covered in brown gravy. It had correctly pan fried over-medium eggs with runny yolks and solid whites. Grits thick enough to eat with a fork, creamy enough to submit and mingle with the yolk runoff.I didnt notice the chicken-fried steak was naked of its usual country milk pepper gravy until my dining companion brought it to my attention whilst standing inside of a thrift store, 15 minutes later.
