They have half of dim sum on Sundays. We had a reservation for 12:30pm (made online in advance) but walk-ins are accepted. We got the chicken pot stickers and egg rolls (fried items come out first) in addition to char siu steamed buns, red bean buns, squid ink custard buns, xiao long bao, and fried shrimp balls. The char siu and red bean buns could’ve used more filling. Note that the squid ink only refers to the black dyed buns, and the filling is just custard. They do have BBQ plates available if you don’t want just dim sum. Service is slow so put in your order all at once. Credit cards are accepted. Metered street parking or garage parking.

So I ordered food from the vegan menu, the rice and the cucumber salad. Delicious.. but then I decided I wanted to try the lobster dumplings. Oh my there’re so good you must come here and have a lobster dumpling. And message for the Manager give your employees the menu items so they know how to describe them and share their personal likes !!!

Pretty much anything fried was great. The fried pot stickers and egg rolls were perfect. The crispy orange shrimp and the fried string beans were very good as well. And I liked the sesame mochi balls for desert. I didn’t love the Alaskan cod and Hong Kong ribs were fine but the sauce was a bit salty for my taste. The staff was very friendly and the general atmosphere was pleasant. I would come back again and try more of the dishes.

We had a great experience at Fifty One Kitchen. We were especially excited that there was an entire, separate vegetan menu, as well as a set vegan menu option. Its a beautiful, cavernous space with lots of outdoor seating too.My wife and I decided on the Vegan Set Menu which was a ton of food...we probably would have been served better ordering one of each item a-la-carte rather than the abundance of food that we couldnt possible finish, so before you go all in on the set menu, check the a-la-carte offerings. (Though, to be fair, we brought a lot of food home so its days of meals to come!)We selected Crispy Tofu which was perfectly coated almost silken tofu on the outside...really nicely flavored and a delight to eat.Our 2 entrees were Mapo tofu (among the best mapo dishes we had and it had a great presentation) and Black Pepper Veggie Steak (this tasted good and had an actually spectacular presentation, though I was hoping for a soy based faux-meat dish and this was soy paper wrapped around mushrooms and other items...so the flavor was great but not the texture I was looking for in something labeled steak.)We also had Stir Fry String Beans which were cooked perfectly and also nicely spiced.Theres a lot more to try on the vegan menu and wed definitely come back to sample more.Oooh and we really loved the Sayuri Nogir Sake as well...creamy, sweet and a delight to drink!

Delicious food. Highly recommend the multi-day seasoned duck. The pork dishes and fried rice are also very tasty. Great portion sizes. Friendly and proactive staff. Great outdoor seating, and indoor mask/vaccination protocol. Highly recommend the chili oil and other spice paste. Plenty of metered parking around the restaurant; there is also a parking garage near the Trader Joe’s. Food was so good, I forgot to take a snap before digging in! Haha. Enjoy!

Surprisingly authentic and tasty for this area! I didnt have high expectations, but Fifty One far exceeded it.Out of everything we ordered, I highly recommend the Cantonese BBQ Platter & Stir Fry String Beans. The portions are generous and can easily feed 3-4. We also ordered the Hong Kong Ribs & Chicken Lettuce Wrap, but it was mediocre; I would not recommend these two dishes.The ambiance is pretty cool for a nice casual dinner. Service is good, but nothing to rave about. Expect to pay $30-35 per person and have leftover to take home. I would be returning!

We had an incredible time at Fifty One. I was shocked when we walked in that it was practically empty, considering it was so beautiful and peaceful. But I suspect we came just before the dinner rush, because by the time we were done eating, the place was packed!We enjoyed a honey chicken appetizer, which was absolutely to die for. My husband really loved his Cantonese BBQ meal, and I was very happy with my Szechuan spicy chicken. The portions are ENORMOUS and so affordable. We took a lot of it home!Also if youre into macaron ice cream sandwiches, you wont find better ones than here. They have the most incredible flavor options (like black cherry fudge -- WHAT) and I would drive hours out of my way to get the Cherry Vanilla again and again. My husband got the Cookies & Cream, which was delicious as well.My only gripe is that they are so understaffed! Our poor server was the ONLY person working. Im not sure if it was just a weeknight thing, but he needs some help! I saw him LITERALLY running across the restaurant multiple times to take care of all the guests in a timely fashion. If you dine here and theres only one server, please be kind and patient!

Best Chinese restaurant in Culver City! Loved the half off dim sums on Sundays! Their chicken Xiu Mai and dumplings are really good!We have also tried the Mixed Fried Rice and the Kung Pao Chicken (in the pics) and both of them were tasty. They have Chinese beers too! The wait times are a bit high but I can understand because of the less staff members. Keep up the good work, Fifty One! Me and my wife will visit again!

For flavors, it’s not your typical American Chinese restaurant. For interior design and service quality, it’s not a San Gabriel Valley Chinese restaurant. For food variety, it’s not just a dim sum spot that only has alluring food cart running around. It does not serve over spicy Sichuan food that make you sweaty throughout the rest of the meal.For the most part, the food is authentic. I tried the dry pot which has the right amount of spice. The twice cooked pork is still somehow sweet. But I am fine with that since it’s still delicious. The dim sum is BIG and tasty. The green tea tiramisu is liked by everyone.Haven’t found any Chinese restaurant that house itself in a warehouse. The exposed wood frame smartly relates to the traditional Chinese wood structure system. The nice space divider with Chinese brush painting on it, the peach decoration around the steel column, the golden lotus wall art and the panda chopstick stand. All are elegant Chinese symbols that make you feel you are a distinguished guest being invited by a royal Chinese family. Besides the good service experience we had. New Ownership! This isnt your basic greasy American Chinese food. Will be back, the design inside is beautiful.I love the grit here, the team behind Ooak (the previous brand) saw that the concept wasnt working. So they made the tough choice to rebrand and hire a whole new team. The new team seems to know what they are doing! This week Aug 2018, a new menu and fresh ingredients are being added to the mix. We tried a few dishes days before the new menu took shape, and plan to go back again.Hoping i can raise my review to 5 stars soon. We tried the spicy green beans, tofu lettuce wraps, and mushroom kung pao. Lettuce wraps were great, but Kung Pao was a little one sided, just peanuts and mushrooms, flavor was good though.

It was a nice day to come here with my best friend for lunch. We ordered hot and sour soup and it turns out very spicy, the waiter told us he can have one with no spicy. It was really delicious and taste better without the spicy in it. If you like spicy then I think the original will be good. If you dont like spicy, tell them no spicy. We also fried rice as well. Everything turns out perfect. Yummy~ Thanks for the server name Yono who serves us. He is very friend and very helpful.

I went there since the reviews said its good, but I was so disappointed. This restaurant gave me a disgusting half-cooked steamed pork, and then 30 minutes after I just reported it to them, they gave me another half-cooked egg custard mun. The service attitude is also horrible, I asked an Asian waiter about my orders since I had already waited for twenty minutes without anything recieved, then he just shaked his shoulders and gave me a non-sense gesture. I dont know how to describe the gesture, but it make me mad under the circumstance. I will never go there again.

Food was mostly okay but rice was weirdly undercooked. How do you not know how to cook rice at a Chinese restaurant? Soup dumplings came broken so the soup spilled out the moment we picked them up. Waiter forgot to place half hour order and didnt even realize it until we were like whats going on? Over all - we. Wont. Be. Coming. Back. We wont recommend it to others either. Which is sad because we really wanted to like the place. Also dim sum menu has NO explanation. So you cant know what youre ordering unless you know Mandarin or you ask the waiter to recite it to you every time. I dont get this restaurant. So. Meh.

My favorite restaurant so far. As a Chinese I’m very particular about Chinese food and its authenticity. The environment is very pretty, (it does looks like some Chinese restaurant in China.) very nice staff and great atmosphere. Me and my friend ordered hot and sour soup and fried rice. The hot and sour soup was spicy, but the server offer to non spicy one. And it taste way much better. Fried rice is delicious and enough portion for two people. Worth the money! Service was very slow and our waiter was clearly overwhelmed. We reserved a table the night before and requested to be seated away from the door because it was so cold. When we arrived for our reservation the host told us that she hadnt been told to save a particular table so we ended up sitting directly in front of the door and ate our entire meal with our coats on as well as the guest around us. We had the wrong food brought to our table and when we stated that this wasnt our food the waiter asked another staff member to confirm what we were saying as if we didnt know what we ordered. Everyone at my table ordered the same thing so it was obvious for us to see it wasnt what we ordered. This lobster special that they offer on Sunday or sometimes everyday of the week according to the host even though we were denied on a Saturday and forced to come back was a joke. They cook one lobster tail and split that in half and tell you its two lobster tails on your plate. The food was average. Will not be back due to the slow and rude service.

Very average experience for several reasons -1. Wait times were extremely slow. Visited around noon on a Sunday but the place seemed understaffed2. All food served was lukewarm and cold. Food was tasty and prepared well. Portions are much smaller than the usual Chinese restaurant we normally go too. Their soup was about 6oz. We got our fill by ordering Chinese dim sum which, is half price between 3-6pm all week. The interior decor is very nice and had clean restrooms. They have a very nice enclosed seating area for a large group. Table settings are very nice and there is plenty of seating with a full service bar. This restaurant has been opened 9 months and is in mid town of Culver City. The restaurant was almost empty when we arrived at 3:30PM. Our only disappointment was that our server forgot 2 items that we ordered and had to be reminded twice. For that reason they received our 3 star rating. Next to the preparation and taste of the dishes, the service is one of our highest requirements. A pay parking garage is across the street which was handy.

Below average experience overall.Ordered doordash 2-3 times before in the past 2021 and things we ordered all tasted good. I started to have the impression that this is a legit Chinese food place that actually cooks authentic Chinese food - BIG MISTAKE. Dined-in there earlier this week and immediately we noticed that the Sichuan Spicy Chicken in Chili Oil (which originally tastes quite like 口水鸡) tastes different from before, and it’s different in a BAD way. There’s not even Chili Oil in it until we requested. The other dishes all tasted like the Panda Express kind of Americanized Chinese food which is a huge disappointment. How did our order of “Dry Pot” become basically a “Stew”?I get that some of the dishes (stir-fry string beans for example, was quite good) might be good & genuine Chinese food, but I’d say 75%+ of them are just painfully mediocre, *even by the American Chinese Food standard - they’re just merely average, which is absolutely NOT worth the price.To summarize it with my gf’s word, we felt like we’ve been scammed.On the bright side, the environment & service in general was good. The two stars are for the thoughtfully decorated dining space in the restaurant and the friendly staffs (one of them did bring us the wrong dishes at some point but the food was so bad that made me forgive him).

I dined here one Sunday evening, and it was such a pleasant experience. Food was fantastic, service was great, ambience was awesome. All around wonderful experience. A week after, remembering how good the food was, I ordered food to go. I ordered the same dish like what I have ordered the week before. When I got home, I was surprised the dishes were missing the ingredients that are mentioned in the menu (I ordered Fifty One Noodle with mushroom, and there was no mushroom at all, and fish kids menu with white rice, and no white rice in sight). I called the restaurant about this, and the lady who answered my call told me the kitchen is in the middle of changing the menus, thus the missing mushroom and white rice, and basically gave me too-bad-so-sad attitude about my complaint. Well, dont put it in the menu if youre going to give incomplete dishes. Overall, the food is great, but they could have handled their paying customers and complaints better.

The other two didnt even make it to the table before I had to leave for an appointment. The food is delicious, the decor is beautiful. The outside doesnt give away how beautiful the inside of the restaurant is. Fish hot pot is a must try for the flavors of Sichuan pepper. This is a great place to satisfy your dimsum craving without having to drive all the way to the east side of town. We have been here a handful of times since they’ve opened. The quality of service depends on how busy the restaurant is. But they have been making steady improvements in this area. Prices are decent especially during Sunday’s when the dimsum is half off. The waiter was great, but the food was a joke.Fifty one noodle: it was literally just the 99 cent store spaghetti with ground beef and chopped up carrots. Food was tasty and in great quantity. Be sure to ask for their in-house soy sauce, and I recommend the sesame balls for desert.The 3-star rating is for one reason:1) DO NOT get the duck. Comes in a vat of broth which is cool, but its big and you have to stand up in order to get any food. Also, you have nowhere to put the bones when you are done, and there is no real way to cut the meat from the breast as they dont provide a knife. Ended up making a mess on the table. There is no true taste on its own, but the in-house soy sauce makes up for it.Aside from the duck, a good place to eat!

Eh. The decor is nice. The food does not live up. The signature noodle dish named after the restaurant is pork and peanuts over spaghetti noodles. Package spaghetti noodles. Not fresh pasta. (Try rough cut hand made pasta it might hold the sauce which was the best part). The owner/manager in the dining room on his computer doing books. Apparently complaining about the price of pork. Leaves me to believe he is cutting corners somewhere. Tea served in a coffee cup not a pot, and no coffee. Server was nice but ya just dont feel like they care ( I mean the whole restaurant ) Not going to get a second chance from me. Sorry.

Four Stars for the Food Only.Came here with another couple for dinner. Although the online Resy app stated nothing available, I called and was able to save a table over the phone.Service: Poor. Upon sitting down, the waiter walks up and immediately asks us to order. We hadn’t even opened the menu QR code or anything. Then, when he returns, we ask for a suggestion of how much food would be the right amount for our table, his response, “I don’t know. Don’t ask me. I have no idea.” Once food was delivered, only came back once to check, never offered another round of drinks. Never topped off our waters. Surprisingly, this place was pretty good! I grew up in a Chinese household and have had traditional shanghainese/cantonese food my whole life, and I really didnt expect this place to be authentic because its in such a hip part of Culver next to the Arclight theater.The dishes came in larger than expected portions and it never felt like they sacrificed quality for volume. The dry-pot dish is a specialty as is the tea-leaf shrimp. Its really cool that this place pulls dishes from different regions across China and pays homage to the regions by referencing them in the menu for people who are curious. Would recommend coming in groups of 4+ to have a good variety of food family-style.Honestly, Id bring my Asian parents here for a family meal and Id be confident they wouldnt complain about the authenticity. Its not at all the same experience as going to a 626 seafood banquet hall - its tastefully modern and smartly approachable for non-Asians. The whole place was spacious with tall ceilings and its great for dates, gatherings, or family time. I even saw a banquet-ish table at the back which could probably fit a dozen of people and was semi-walled off with a wooden panel.DEFINITELY make a reservation if you can, the place does get crowded and wait times can be 30+ during normal peak hours.4.5 stars, but Im rounding up because I want to see more authentic Chinese places in the west side.

Our new favorite discovery! Dim sum is really good and quite filling. Its bigger than traditional Chinese restaurants and surprisingly juicy and on par with the top notch places. LOVE their 50% discount on dim sum on sundays, makes it an extreme value compared to many other places. This is also a great location given that I dont have to drive all the way to Chinatown.

Just loved it... Went out for a lunch with my colleagues and really like the ambiance and the staff was really nice too.... Dimsums here made to order so takes about 30 minutes but totally worth waiting for. Tried fried rice and that was very good too and hey for 8 people the bill was just $95. More like Fifty One Minute Wait. After an hour waiting with no food our first dumplings arrived, and the meat was cold on the inside. After 1h40m, we still hadnt recieved all of our dishes yet and asked for the check, and they still tried to bill us for food we never recieved and the sketchy cold dumplings we returned. The whole time they kept apologizing and saying the kitchen was busy, but most of the tables were empty. They shouldnt promote dim sum if they cant prepare it in a timely fashion.
