We were curious about this place after passing by and decided to give it a try. We were absolutely pleasantly surprised! We ordered the smoked fish appetizer, which was amazing! At that point we knew we had made a good choice so we decided to try the Baja and sword fish tacos and they were spot on delicious. Absolutely recommend this spot!
This place serves locally caught, top quality fish tacos. Tried the swordfish, the coconut shrimp and the fish and chips tacos. All were delicious.The staff are super welcoming and friendly. Can’t wait to go back and try the fish sandwich.
Amazing. Two tacos per order are perfect for sharing so we tried several types. Not your average fish taco, the flavors are creative and delicious. The fresh tortillas make them even better. The Al Pastor and cucumber margaritas are worth a try. Nice place for a casual, fresh meal with great service.
We tried the Hongo, Espada, Camaron, and Baja fish tacos. All were delicious and tasty. My favorite were the Espada tacos, loved the slaw with Mayo-FIRE!Tacos bien Caseros!They had great beer too, our server Lucero knew what’s up, great service!Wait, I almost forgot the dessert, it was amazing, milky and light!Yes, I almost tried it all!
Insanity. Pure, fish sandwich, INSANITY. I think I was so gobsmacked and star struck that I couldn’t even bring myself to make eye contact with the chef to mouth the words OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOSH ARE YOU KIDDING ME????? 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤 Here’s a hint at how good this was: the very first bite the creamy coleslaw topping hits your pallet and it is bright and it is citrusy and where I usually immediately reach for vinegar and hot sauce and lemon to dress up any kind of fish fried product I’m about to consume I didn’t see any of those accoutrements in sight — because they were absolutely unnecessary. The other thing is I hate sweet pickles I’m saying the word hate and the sandwich had sweet pickles on it and not only did I not mind but also I thought they were amazing. BRB and can’t wait for round two!!!! Also staff was super sweet and happy to answer my questions about the artwork. In particular, there’s a large painting of the cliffs, famous for diving from Acapulco and some really great photos on the wall.
We sat outside, ordered the fish dip and three types of tacos for 2 people. Everything was excellent. Also got two beers, they were great too! Will come back.
If these are not some of the best fish tacos you’ve had, then it is quite possible you have lost your sense of taste.I sampled a multitude of options on the menu. The chef didn’t hesitate to experiment. Not just in the kitchen, but on the bar. There is a flurry of flavors that is sure to satisfy the curiosity and the imagination. The al pastor tacos were… everything they needed to be and more. The correct amount of spicy. The correct amount of sweet. My other samples were delectable to say the least, though there is still some fun to be had.Drinks were perfect. So delicious. So complex. And margaritas for $9.Don’t waste your time at Salud. Go to Fish Guts. Get some good drinks, eat some good tacos, and allow your senses to truly explore.
Delicious, curated tacos. Great flavor profiles, good balance as far as the palette goes, and healthy portion sizes (I usually get for tacos at most taco places but two was the same amount here).We went on a rainy night after they sold out of the ones that we wanted to try the most but we got the fish and chips, coconut shrimp, and this Baja tacos and a couple drinks. It was all fresh and tasty!Its a small shop and I think you can only dine in. There are about 5-10 seats total so if you want to dine in, calling ahead might work!
Had the blackened swordfish tacos with jalapeño slaw. AMAZING. Was just passing by and was drawn in by the name. Could not recommend more.
Food was dam good and the spirits were surprisingly well thought out. Cucumber and cumin go surprisingly well together in their refreshing agave wine spirit. Will be back

The food is incredible and everyone is super friendly. The coconut shrimp taco is the best shrimp taco I’ve ever had. Every other taco is also delicious.
I was staying at an AirBNB nearby and was fortunate to end up at Fish Guts. The tacos were some of the BEST Ive ever had, the people were friendly and kind, and they are maximizing a small place with epic design and decoration. Chef Pablo was AWESOME- his passion for food was evident and he is clearly extremely talented. I want to go back to try every taco before I leave San Diego. Highly recommended!
The fish Tacos (dont recall the name on the menu) are arguably the best Ive ever had in town. The hand made tortillas certainly added a twist to these tasty tacos as not everyone can provide freshly made tortillas. Cant wait to eat there again, the owner/operator/Chef Pablo is down to earth and explained his menu as my daughter and I ate. Highly recommend this new hole in the wall (no pun intended)
Me and my girl decided to check it out and try a few things and it happened to be insanely delicious. The smoked dip was soo good. Every taco we ordered incredible. Super glad we stopped by to have lunch.
This place is amazing! The food and drinks were breath taking. Definitely an experience worth sharing with friends and family. The view was awesome for having a tasty meal like we did here. You cannot go wrong with any choice of their tacos, because they were all satisfying. For me, the Camaron were the best 😋 Shout out to Lucero, she is awesome!
Wonderful tacos that are fresh and delicious. Its hard to believe the service is better than the food but I was super impressed how awesome and attentive the staff were. Definitely will be back.

Wow! This place just opened and it’s going to be my new night out spot. Drinks were refreshing and delicious, and the tacos were perfect. In an area that has great tacos, this place will rise to the top.

Friendly people. clean restaurant. DELICIOUS food. I came for lunch and enjoyed the fish sandwich. flaky fish in toasted brioche bun with PERFECT tartar sauce.
A little pricier but really excellent seafood tacos. Cocktails were delicious and sneaky spicy! Not in a bad way at all, just don’t underestimate what’s hiding under the pineapple 😂

The waitress was super nice and friendly! The tacos are to die for! All of them are fresh perfectly balanced!! My favorites were the coconut shrimp! I’ve been dying for this type of tacos for ever thank you chef for this creation! My second favorite were the swordfish tacos and the fish and chips! Soooo good!! Can’t wait to comeback! Don’t forget to get the coconut pudding! It’s the perfect ending for those delicious tacos!

2023-04-28 19:33:16Must try in San Diego! All of the tacos were full of flavor and really distinct. We had the salmon al pastor, mushrooms, and coconut shrimp. The tortillas were perfect! The owners were so friendly and welcoming. Try the new hibiscus water as well, a hint of cinnamon goes great with the savory tacos. The spot is super cute. Can’t recommend enough!

The tacos had the perfect amount of seasoning, heat, and acid. The margaritas was one of the best margaritas that we had. Our plan here was to drink 1-2 drinks and 3 orders of tacos… well we had 6 drinks and 6 orders of tacos. It was so good that we couldn’t stop eating and wanted to try everything in the menu which barely happens to us. Our favorites were taco estilo baja & taco de camarón. Everyone is super friendly as well. Potential James Beard Award winner?!
