Fishing With Dynamite in Manhattan Beach

For such a small space, this place really packs a punch. The management and wait staff go above and beyond to take care of their customers. It was our first time, and they made us feel special, like we were regulars. The dishes were fantastic and service was impeccable. We would 100% come back next time were in town.

Fishing with Dynamite is a seafood haven that truly excels, especially if youre an oyster enthusiast like me. Their oysters are a revelation and undoubtedly my favorite place for these briny delights. The scallops were exceptionally delicious, a testament to their culinary expertise.The recent menu update brought some delightful surprises. The ceviche was nothing short of fantastic, bursting with fresh flavors. The hamachi was a standout, with a wonderful combination of textures and flavors that left a lasting impression.The restaurants commitment to quality and taste shines through in every dish, and the welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff make the dining experience even more enjoyable. Fishing with Dynamite is, without a doubt, a must-visit spot!

Really cool restaurant with outstanding seafood and cocktails.I ordered the lobster roll with fries and it was so delicious. The bartender serving me was very pleasant and nice - he recommended a few cocktails that were unique and flavorful.I will definitely be coming back here in the future!

We scored a table on the sidewalk here for a late lunch on a beautiful sunny day & it was fantastic!! Our server was kind, knowledgeable and directed us where to explore both drink wise & food. We split oysters, tuna tartare (DIVINE!) & frites for apps & enjoyed the sea bass entree. Everything was outstanding!! Yum.

We had very enjoyable lunch at Fishing with Dynamite. It is a small place in Manhattan Beach and at lunch time, the only tables available were outside in the sun. No shade. You need to make reservations well in advance to sit inside. It took a while to place our order, but not overly too long. After ordering, the food came out in a timely manner, and was very good. We ordered the Crab sandwich roll and the Maine Lobstah sandwich roll. ( note the Maine roll is cold and the Connecticut style roll is warm) Both were top notch delicious. A little pricey but well worth it and very enjoyable. Looking forward to my next visit.

FWD is my favorite restaurant in Manhattan Beach. Dinner was fabulous tonight and we are all big fans of the restaurant now. We sat at the chef’s counter, which was really great because you can see them preparing the shellfish. Our server Elijah was very prompt and did a great job. They have a lot of great options on the menu, so it was hard to choose because I wanted so many different items. It’s quite small on the inside, but in a cozy sort of way. Parking in the area was pretty easy for us, we found metered parking a block away.As the name suggests, they specialize in seafood. We started off with the Peruvian Scallops and they were incredible. Oysters are my favorite, but this was a refreshing change. Next we tried the Littleneck Clams raw and they too were very good although I prefer oyster or scallop. We tried a cup of the Clam Chowder and as big fans of chowder in general we were really impressed with this version of it. Next came the Cape Cod Squash Rolls and they were great. I loved the honey butter that came with them, they taste very similar to a Parkerhouse roll. The Hamachi Sashimi was also a standout. The sauce with it was so good that I could drink it, and the wish was very refreshing. Next came the Shoft Shell Crab, which was fried and very good. I prefer my Soft Shell Crab sautéed, but this was a nice fried option. For entrées we chose the Koshihikari Rice, which is similar to risotto, with an egg in the middle that you can mix in. The Uni really adds a strong seafood flavor to it. We also got the Chilean Seabass, which was cooked perfectly although the portion was pretty small. Finally for dessert we had the Chocolate Pretzel Bread Pudding and it was terrific. The salted caramel sauce was really next level.Overall a fantastic dinner, and I would highly recommend to anyone, especially any seafood fan. I plan to be back in the future to try more items.

Foodie alert!!! This Michelin recognized restaurant is worth the trip, cost, wait, anticipation, etc. The freshness of the seafood is the best that’s out there. Wowyumyessss.I love taking my clients to great eats, and I love it even more when they are super excited to come to a great place. This place will impress - whether it’s a casual lunch, nice dinner, or quick weekend stop (if you can even get a seat). And the staff is lovely and great at their job. And the decor is quaint but upscale.We ordered all the great fresh seafood: oysters, Peruvian scallops, Maryland blue crab cakes, Mexican white shrimp ceviche and the hamachi sashimi. And don’t forget the Sancerre!Love this place. Love the vibe. Can’t wait to take my family here next.

A singular location for fresh, carefully prepared plates that show the quality of the main items. No over the top sauces and sides, just like a dance partner who shows their partners strong suits. Thoughtful wine list that pairs elegantly with menu choices. Love the Sancerre.

Without a doubt, the best meal I have ever eaten in my entire life! Come to Fishing With Dynamite for the best seafood you will ever eat. I cannot pick one dish, since they are all sublime, so I will just suggest everything. You literally will not go wrong with whatever you choose.

Excellent service! We had a reservation for five, the manager and the fantastic waitress Alex attended us right away and made us feel at home. We started with drinks, but the real star were the appetizers and entrees. We were lucky to have lobster that was captured that morning... the scallops, oysters, and shrimp were very fresh and tasty.Entrees came fast and hot, everyone enjoyed their meals, mine (the sea bass) was easily Ive ever had. Every dish was made with care and thought for the plating. It really felt like a special birthday dinner for my mom and aunt.Lastly, this place is very careful about allergies, they were able to make sure everyone had a dessert they could eat! Thats worth 10 stars by itself. Cant wait to go back!
