2023-07-06 15:08:23I brought my dad here to celebrate his birthday, and they had a $5.99/lb lobster special! The lobster was on the smaller side, but there was plenty of meat. They give you 3 lbs. We also ordered roast duck, fried rice, and soup. The restaurant itself is a little bit old, and you can see its age by looking at the floors, walls, and furniture. However, it was pretty clean when I visited. Our server, on the other hand, was pretty rude. But he was just a bad apple because everybody else was nice. Someone even swapped out our plates after they were full of lobster shell!

2023-07-06 04:47:52We had Dim Sum at Five Star Seafood Restaurant. This place was crowded but a good sign as far as Dim Sum places goes. We went on a weekday so there were less dim sum cart ladies so it took a while for them to circle to our table. They had to be flagged down or we had to get up and get the food ourselves, remember to take your receipt paper with you so they can stamp your receipt as a dim sum taken. They have a nice variety of Dim Sum. When we finally settled to eat our food it was very tasty and hot. I am sure they will have more dim sum cart ladies on the weekend to meet the demands of the weekend crowds. I would recommend this place as its very spacious and open and has a good vibe but gets crowded. The acoustic can be a bit loud but i have been to louder restaurants. If you decide to try this place you will enjoy the experience of Dim Sum.

2023-07-21 01:53:27This was a great gem. It gets 5 stars based on food from the glorious past, in its golden days it would be mmm mmmm... It is a solid 5 but i remember it being a 7 or an 8.Service for dim sum, you must be patient, diligent and have plan. If you cant speak the dialect either learn it or have a rehearsal strategy on how to get your favorite dishes. But Be relentless on getting your yummies, the Ambiance is mega loud but thats the experience.Ambiance is Hong Kong light, so get your yummies on point, try all dishes more than once, come hungry and be ready for adventure.I been coming here for over 20 plus years. Still even on bad days, the dim sum beats all other places. You wont leave hungry, if you do then you need to really rethink your lifes choices.Yummies galore, hurry and get there early, then stay still it closes for dinner prep. Gives you time to walk around the stores. The back for dinner to gorge much more, eat like an emperor and rule the morning and night.Lu Bu once recommended this place as a historical yummies location, many havent survived the taste test. This place has stood the test of time.

2023-06-18 06:11:10June 2023:Bumping up to five star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. Came here for dinner on a Saturday and the place was packed. We had a really good dinner. The tofu with dry scallops and egg yolk was unusual and very tasty 😋. The tofu was perfectly steamed and the seasoning was excellent. The oysters 🦪 with green onions and ginger was also a big hit. The rock cod fish fillets with veggies was also very tasty 😋. Tried the black pepper beef for the first time. I liked it a lot. The ginger crab 🦀 was also pretty good.Overall, an excellent dinner! I will definitely be back... Especially for the tofu dish 😋.June 2019:Had dinner here on a Sunday night. The veggies were okay. Could have been more flavor in the mushrooms and the mustard greens were not 100% clean. My favorite was the oysters and chicken. It was cold, which was surprising. The tofu was not what we expected.Service was slow but when we got someone, they were right on it.Overall, give it 3.5 🌟 but will round up to 4.

2023-04-02 23:36:56Good authentic dim sum restaurant often very busy especially on the weekends. Food standard fare and tea charge is $2 per person. Quick service. Each dish is priced the same at around $5.50 regardless of the size or item. Private rooms available for more formal Chinese dining.

2022-12-24 03:14:23Came here for Dim Sum on the Friday before Christmas weekend and it was busy. We didn’t have to wait for a table but I’d say the restaurant was 90% full. The dim sum is pretty good. Definitely a solid option if you’re interested in that. The regular dishes were also good. I didn’t get to try everything I wanted to in terms of Dim Sum plates so I’ll be back.

2023-01-27 19:15:54Went here for a Lunar NY dinner with my housemates. There were countless people waiting in line filling all the space from the elevator to the entrance! After some time of waiting we got in. It’s crazily busy inside!I’d say the service is super quick given the amount of people in the restaurant. The overall wait time was about 1hr before we started eating. The food was amazing!! My Guangdong friends said that it’s real Guangdong food. They’re very delicious to an Asian like me. For just food themselves: straight 5 stars.Cleanliness was not the best. The restroom was a complete mess. But maybe that’s expected from the amount of people on Lunar NY. It looked to me like they haven’t cleaned it for the entire night.Everything we ordered was about $80+. The crab was very nice so I can’t say that it’s expensive. Actually one of the soup ran out so we only got 4 dishes and a pot of rice. It’s more than enough for 3 adults and 1 kid.

2023-12-01 15:58:48Five Star has a nice menu featuring traditional Cantonese seafood and cuisine. For dinner the seafood is a popular choice with tanks displaying a large variety of live fish, lobster and crabs. Traditional dishes are well prepared with little oil or salt. Service is fine and easy to get hold of. Prices are moderate per dish.
