Flame BBQ in Millbrae

Fantastic yakitori.Flame BBQ is cozy, the service is friendly, and the food comes out fast. We tried a good dozen options on the menu and every single one was delicious.Pricing is also decent. Sticking with water, we were able to try a very good chunk of the menu for roughly $40 per person total, including tip. Definitely coming back here!

This place is a perfect choice for late-night BBQ and skewers. The flavors hit just the right note, and you’re given peppers, salt, and hot peppers to adjust the seasoning to your liking.I particularly recommend the chicken skin and the beef artery. These items are notoriously difficult to prepare well and can easily be ruined, but this restaurant handles them masterfully! The chicken skins are crispy without being oily, and the beef artery is tender yet soft—an impressive feat.Considering the quality, everything is priced very reasonably, especially given the Bay Area location. The lamb and seafood options are equally delicious. I can’t think of anything I would advise you to avoid.I will definitely be coming back!

A fantastic BBQ spot. The automatic BBQ machine rotating the meat skewers added a unique touch to the dining experience. The beef skewer was flavorful, but the real star was the roasted mushroom – an absolute delight. The seafood dishes also stood out, showcasing the restaurants culinary prowess.The fried matcha ice cream for dessert was nothing short of fantastic. The contrasting textures and flavors made it a perfect ending to a delightful meal. The ambiance was pleasant, and the attentive staff added to the overall positive experience. If youre a BBQ enthusiast or just looking for a memorable dining experience, this is a must-try.

I was just looking up some late night food, to go, and I fell on this delight! One of those unexpected great finds that you’re thrilled to have made, I ordered several BBQ items and a House Spicy Pot, which did not skimp on ingredients, (which sometimes, unfortunately, occurs at other restaurants), and then a Red Bean Paste Pudding which came with a really luscious green tea ice cream. It’s been a long time since I enjoyed a meal so much, and so affordable! I was surprised.Everything was delicious, and I just want to return asap, truly. On top of that, the smiling gentleman who took care of me, who was at the register, as well, was very welcoming and brought me a dish of warm salted peanuts while I waited. Very nice.All around a really outstanding experience.I believe this is the first restaurant review I’ve written in many years!

Best skewers in the Bay Area!! This place is even better than Prime BBQ in San Mateo, which is also pretty good already. Value for amount and quality of food was superb and service was super friendly. We enjoyed every single dish that we ordered between 4 people and tried majority of the menu items. My personal fav were the beef, chicken, and oyster mushroom skewers. The cucumbers were also so crispy and delicious that we had to get a second order.Definitely coming back soon again.

This place is definitely my favorite BBQ place in bayarea! Been here several times already and each time the food was really good! Everything is well-seasoned and flavorful, the oyster, chicken wings and uni on soft broiled egg are my favorite. The achoy is also very good! There are also foods for the kids too. My kids love the seafood stir fried vermicelli. This place is a great place for family dinner. It is easy to find parking.There are plenty of parking space around the corner and parking garage in the back. Staff are very nice and helpful. Great place for dining!

We thought it would be way better based on the reviews claiming this was the best BBQ in the Bay Area… so when we got there we were pretty disappointed. The wagyu wasn’t fresh. The prime rib and lamb skewers were skinny, dry, and had the same flavor so you couldn’t even tell the difference between them. Also the menu wasn’t super clear — for example the pictures showed two skewers so you’d expect to get two skewers but only one would arrive and it turned out the order was just for one skewer, so you’d have to order another one and wait for it to come out… and then at the end the bill ended up costing way more than what it was worth tbh. Would not eat here again.

Great Skewers and one of the only restaurants in the area open late. Visiting the Bay Area from NYC & can definitely say this is as good as the ones back home. Super nice people & I highly recommend their Shiitake mushroom and Beef Rib skewers.
