Flights honestly shouldn’t be so good every time I go. Wife and I went to this one in fancy-pants B’game as a sort of last acceptable resort. And it was all damned great. The Sunday hash brown flight and chicken and waffles were outstanding. I did the margarita flight and it buzzed me in an ideal way. Wife sipped a really good strong ginger beer mixed in site. Then the bread pudding dessert capped it all with great presentation, flavor, and hot/cold layers. Just solid. AGAIN.

Food here was amazing.We started with the mimosa flight definitely a nice start for the meal, accompanied by the French fries flight.. highly recommend.Other items we ordered:1. Skewer flight - it looks like its not a lot but boy is it filling. Everything was so juicy and tender.2. Cast iron skillet - everything here was so tasty, the best one in our opinion was the pulled pork.3. Classic breakfast - cant go wrong with a classic. Bacon was nice and crispy. Potato hash was crunchy and so flavorful.4. Chicken and waffles- something so simple but well executed.5. Cheesecake flight - its alright. I dont really recommend. This felt super basic but didnt really add anything to the experience. This was the only item we didnt really touch or finish. It literally tasted like cheesecake with different toppings on it. Very uneventful.6. Brownie bomber - highly recommend. This one had us stop talking mid conversation when we saw this beautiful thing walking towards us. We were fighting for this one. Everything about it was so comforting.. even if you feel so full that you dont have space for dessert... trust you will have space for this...

Rarely do you find a place where everything is this solid. Hostess was friendly and welcoming. We were seated right away at a great table. Service was very good and food came out quick. We had the slider flight, the skewer flight and the French fry flight. Food was very solid. Not sure why the price shows this place being expensive as all of our food plus a Diet Coke and a beer was 75.00. Definitely check this place out you will not be disappointed.

Unique little cocktail bar and food joint located in a lovely area of Burlingame with ample outdoor and indoor seating, shareable drink flights, and food flights as well. This restaurant specializes in flights of food in drinks - which is essentially several different types of a food or drink served at a type. For example, the margarita flight is several flavors of margaritas at a time for 24$. The flight of fries was pretty good with three different seasonings and dips!The high points of this restaurant is the unique flight theme, everything is themed after aviation including the attire of the servers, and the inside is well designed! Areas for improvement here could be the cocktails and the way the happy hour menu is designed. The cocktails were unique but a little heavy on the sugar content - especially the margaritas. Also, it was unfortunate that you are limited on the happy hour menu to the time that youre there (you cant order later items for HH prices). Unique idea but disadvantages early starters.Otherwise, this is a highly recommended establishment for drinks with friends. Great outdoor seating, friendly staff, good food, and just a good vibe all around. Recommend coming here if youre in the Burlingame area!

This unique aviation themed Bar/Restaurant creates a very special vibe. They even have a robot-waitstaff. You can get a flight of everything from champaigns to margaritas, even chicken wings and skewers. So eating and dinning is never going to be boring here. However, the quality of the flight was not quite as good as those individual entre you order, understandably.

Came in for dinner and tried the following:Around the World Flights (one of each including desert)Mule FlightsBeersThe food was decent. Some items were hit or miss. For example, on the skewers the shrimp was drowned with BBQ sauce and steak was overcooked. The service started out good and then we were forgotten about as it got more busy.Whats up with 5% service charge thats added as a menu item before the subtotal. Then everything including this fee is totaled and is taxed. Then tips are obviously expected and given off that total. Not a huge deal from a money standpoint but very annoying and I dont appreciate these types of shenanigans.We were specifically ordering happy hour mules and one was charged at HH pricing and one at regular. Wasnt going to argue about it.Anyway, total was about $285 for ATW, 2 mules, 2 beers with 15% tip which after the silly 5% service charge is over 20%. Reduced the tip because of this and was annoyed to do extra math. Who receives this service charge? Probably not staff. Im sure Im not the only one annoyed by this. Pay your employees well and let them get their full tips...Stop being tricky, increase the food prices and remove the service charge.

This is the second time I have been here. The first time, I came with some girlfriends for brunch on a Sunday in 2021. The waitress was very rude and said they didnt have champagne for the mimosa flight. We were going to leave before she checked in the back and all of a sudden they had a bottle left. Food was ok but the service was awful and the table was sticky. When we got the bill, they added 20% gratuity even though it was only four people. We were told this was their standard practice. A little off-putting considering how rude she was.When I went again today with another group, the service was great! The food was just...bleh..and there was white stuff floating in the water... Disappointing considering everything is $17+...when we received the bill, I asked about the 5% service charge. She said she need to check with her manager. I said ok and asked for change for a $20. When she came back from talking to a guy behind the bar, she told me that service charge was because minimum wage is so high in the area. She was also unable to give me change because she was suppose to bring her own to work. Uh...what?No where are you notified of the added charges before you get the bill. Also, I have NEVER heard of a waitress having to use her personal money to give change.

I cannot comprehend what the buzz is about....Perhaps this spot seems to be the place for newcomers/ youngsters...but not to locals like us.I still see this place as Straits back in the days...the average quality and service reminded me so much of Straits not sure if this is the same owner but just changed their name and interior...........anyway their concept is to serve ALL ITEMS in the flights of 3s, but not too impressed...Ive been enticed by other things and places around the world, Food was average.service needs improvement....The first two servers (female) who assisted us lacked work ethics.Out of all the things we ordered we liked the bbq pork sliders and falafel and will pass for the rest.In addition with ServiceBeginning was already terrible..we had reservations at 730pm, however we were not seated until 8pmThen we ordered fries which was supposed to come with 3 different types, however it came with all sweet potato fries which we never requested (wrong table people).Everyone got the ordered drinks fairly quickly but one of our party didnt get the beer ordered until 20 mins later.Ordered beer finally came, but server did not explain that beers does not come in flights of 3s...so pls dont claim all items are served in the flights of 3sOur original server left without proper communication and our new server didnt introduce herself. When we requested our bill we reminded the new server to split our parties check, where we indicated by putting our initials on who ordered what.When we received our bill, the server mixed all our orders up plus charged us 5 beers when we ordered 3 beers only.So we press the service button to call our server and she never attended to us, so we ask another server and explain to her what we needed and fixed our bill.Recommend for all to double perhaps triple check your bill prior to paying.Not planning to go back, but still encourage others to try and make your own judgement after.

The mojito sampler was excellent... But definitely something to consider sharing...my wife needed some help. We ordered some really good (seriously) guacamole and chips to munch on while hanging out at the (clean) bar. All the folks working were super friendly (greeters, servers, bar tenders/backs). I have been out here many times. In fact, flights is the reason I moved to Burlingame. While Burlingame has much to offer, flights was my first experience in this amazing town. Tai and Phil in the bar have always been great and always there to offer suggestions to my status quo. Today I went with their mojito flight after a couple of their beer suggestions including pliny the elder! Strongly recommend Flights.

I really loved the theme of this restaurant. It was literally flights of everything. I tried the mule flight and I didnt realize there were variations of the Moscow mule. The Mexican mule was actually my favorite in the flight as it had jalepenos inside. My friend tried the Rose flight and they were all tasty. For the 3 drinks, they were a nice size and the price wasnt bad either. You can order a single cocktail so no pressure to get a flight...but the flights were lots of fun!

This place is absolutely perfect for small plates, tapas, and a good drink. If you dont want a big meal, if you just want a little bit of everything., the way they do this place and theyre formatting and how they do their menu with 4 different tastes on each plate, it is a really good idea. The location is primo! Being on the corner of Burlingame Avenue in California streets, this is an easy place to see, walk to, and enjoy. I recommend this place 10 out of 10 times for a Friday night or Saturday night experience.Even still any night for that matter, if you just want a little bit of a bide with corate drinks and a good theme, this is. Your place!

Great time here at flights last night 12/29/19. Came in with a few family members that were visiting and couldnt have been more pleased with the experience. Was immediately greeted and sat by our waiter Kody when we arrived. He also made our drinks and served us. We were really surprised with the exceptional service. The cocktail and liquor menu was awesome as well. Lots to choose from. We had the mac and cheese and sliders flights which were delicious and perfect for sharing. The margarita on the rocks and the mojitos were also very refreshing and lots of fun! Cant wait to come back again!

Just checked out Flights in Burlingame. Its a catchy concept of serving everything in flights, food and drinks. Most of the food is tapas-style small plates or flights as they call them. They do have a couple of entrees that are the whole entree, like chicken parmesan that comes with a side of pasta. I got the chicken parm my mom ordered Thai shrimp that come on rice and my daughter got the vegan burger and we split a flight of salads. My daughter also tried the Mojito flights. This is a cool place that come with friends have drinks in order small place

Awesome brunch spot with a great mix of cocktail flights. I had their classic breakfast with the French toast flight. Hearty portions of everything are provided. Out of everything ordered by our group, the only dish that didnt wow us was the chicken and waffles. Afterwards you will need to take a stroll downtown to walk it all off.

I came in here thinking it was a burger and fries kind of place since some of the outdoor diners were eating that, but it turned out those were just appetizers, and it was a more traditional American fine dining restaurant. I tried the steak and my fiance had the salmon. Both were great quality, and if youre looking for a fine dining spot in Burlingame, this spot does pretty well.

Really loved the concept of this place. Most items are in flight setup so you get to try lots of items in different variations. Kind of like tapas but for everything from drinks to sliders. This place has limited their food AND DRINK menu (for covid). Knowing this before we made reservations would have been nice. And no, there was nothing on their website either. This is why I gave a two-star instead of three-star rating.Their small food plates we sampled were pretty good however, just pricey. For drinks, my partner and I order the same items just about everywhere we go to. She ordered the Cosmo trio Which were very good! However I made the mistake of ordering the mojitos trio which were all lacking... to syrupy, too little alcohol, and very little mint (Which was not muddled either). And there is no tropical assortment currently. I think this place could be really good once things return to normal.

The server was amazing but the service that was out of the servers control was a complete mess. The drinks were good, but the problems came with the food. The BBQ shrimp skewers made three people in our party violently ill. One person in our party never got their entree after it was ordered. Two people in our party ordered medium rare steak. They were both well done. When one person attempted to send the steak back to get what they actually ordered, the staff had the audacity to come back to the table and argue about how the steak was done. There are two possibilities: either the staff has no idea what theyre doing or the steak was sitting out for so long that the steak completely lost its color and it was impossible to tell how done the steak was. Neither option is particularly flattering for the restaurant. When the server came back with another steak, the steak was even more well done than the first. The person declined to send the steak back since they did not want to argue with staff yet again. Is it not the first rule of business that the customer is always right?This restaurant has potential, but the kitchen clearly either has issues with food safety or they dont know how to properly cook meat to their customers desire. Half of our party had to send back food to the kitchen. For such an expensive restaurant where they charge you $40 for a single filet mignon the standards should absolutely be higher.

What at first seemed would be a promising experience turned into a grave disappointment. The server was slow and unattractive to our party of three. After ordering, we waited for a reasonable time before one of our entrees was served. But we kept on waiting for at least five minutes more before the second entrée arrived, then ten more before the last one (mine) finally was served. My meat loaf was bland and tasteless, and had a color that gave away its frozen origin. The 🥦 was inedible and I can make better mashed potatoes. Comparing experiences afterwards my dining partners and I agreed that our one hundred dollars had not been well spent.

Then, for our entree, we had Flight Burger which is also delicious & a bit spicy Fried Chicken with Waffles (The waffle was great.The breaded fried chicken would have been good if not for the dry white meat perhaps it was overcooked.) First & foremost. I want to share my gratitude towards our server, Tai. He was the most hardworking waiter I saw inside of the restaurant, but also that I’ve seen in a VERY long time. He was very attentive & was super helpful when we were choosing what to order. He knew the menu like the back of his hand, & perfectly described each dish. I can say that, because each dish we ended up ordering was exactly (or even better) than I expected because of Tai, & the chefs of course!He deserves a raise or something, because wow. We arrived and after being seated no one came to bring us waters or take our order after waiting 15 minutes. We ended up switching tables to a better one that became available in the outdoor dining area, still no server came for another 10 minutes. We informed the hostess we were leaving and there was no apology. There are plenty of better restaurants on Burlingame ave, dont waste your time here.

The name and theme is what attracted me to this place, being Im a flight attendant. Loved the flights concept and theme. Food was wonderful, I had the chicken ceaser salad as well as a flight of wine. My server Cody was excellent. He was very friendly and informative about the menu. Pretty good happy hour! Ive been here for both dinner and happy hour, and the happy hour is definitely more worth it. This Straits location has pretty quick service in comparison to the one in Santana Row. I also like the ambience here slightly better.Their portions are kind of small, even for the dinner menu items. I felt like my boyfriend and I had to order a lot of items to fill our appetite.Seems to be only worth your money if youre not hungry and just need a snack with your drink.

Website says it serves vegan food, waitress says thats a mistake. Pretty big mistake. We were a large party with kids and had special orders and dietary needs and all they kept saying was let talk to the chef. When we asked to talk to the chef we were told he didnt speak English. Our meal was mediocre, expensive and disappointing. I know I wont be going back.UPDATE Went back for another visit. Had a delicious meal with both vegan options eaten by me and non-vegan options by my guest. She had the barbecue sliders and loved them and we both had the French fries. Once again I had the falafel since its the vegan option. The service was excellent and our needs were met constantly. The coffee was served hot which is a definite criteria for me. Flights is unique in concept and offers opportunities for most palates. I will probably go back if Im in the area. Second chances are a necessity and I am glad I gave Flights a second chance.

I have never had food this nasty and under prepared. I ordered the walnut shrimp. This dish literally came out 2 minutes after I ordered in an ugly plastic plate. There was absolutely no presentation of the dish. Its fried shrimp dipped in sweet mayo with sodium smelling garlic powder. When I tried it, I could feel the frying powder in my mouth. McDonalds suddenly sounds like a much more appealing dinner choice. I was there at 7:30. The place was empty. I didnt do restaurant like this can claim such a prime location in the busy downtown Burlingame avenue. I was wrong. Dont go.

We had a terrible experience here. It took about 15 mins to get our waitress to come take our order, despite the other wait staff pointing her to our area twice. Then she took our order and forgot, nothing for another 10 mins. She took a different order and they got their food and drink. At that time, we flagged her down and she ran inside as she realized she has not done anything right for our table and another table in our area. Truly pathetic for someone who had to be flagged three times and not get service, so we just got up and left without receiving any food or drink. She should feel ashamed of herself as two tables got up and left.

This place is great for meeting friends. Its spacious, clean, lively and you get a lot of choices of food and drinks. Food is good (dont expect gourmet and youll be fine) and service is great(our server was very attentive and friendly). This place is usually busy on the weekends, so I was quite happy that my wife and I were seated quickly. However, the place was still packed and our server was stretched thin. It took a lot of neck craning to get her attention, only to have her mess up several parts of our order. The worst was that she didnt put in the order for our appetizer until 25 minutes later and I brought it up. When it came out it was delivered to the table next to us, much to both tables surprise. The last surprise was that it was put on their bill not ours!Service aside, this place is pretty good, so long as you dont mind loud music and a club-like atmosphere. Best Christmas Party Ever!!!! Came in last friday for my wifes work christmas party and had such a blast! The whole place was packed and everybody was having a great time. All in all I think there was 40 or 50 of us there for the Christmas party. I was worried they wouldnt be able to effectively take care of us and the entire packed restaurant but Flights definitely delivered a wonderful experience. Our server/bartender Kody was amazing! He was always there to assist and take care of everybody. The other two bartenders were also great, I remember one that helped me once was named Brian. The whole experience couldnt have been better. We got the bill with the benedict on it we said we didnt recieve it, so he went to the kitchen to find out about it. After coming back he said the order had only been placed 15 minutes ago and rudely told us that we dont know how tapas works. The time at this point was about 2:20PM. At this point we no longer wanted it nor to be in there any longer. So begrudgingly he removed it from the check. My suggestion is if you want tapas there are plenty other establishments to go and skip this one.

My coworkers and I came a a few hours early for happy hour, but we were there for the ambiance and the good food. The salt and peppered crispy chicken came in a close second place- with excellent seasoning and spice, it was another major hit at the table. Not a fan. Mediocre food, iffy service, and the check left me feeling robbed. Im forever traumatized and dont think Ill be walking into any STRAITS restaurants ever again.
