I moved to this area in 2008 and I love GOOD Chinese food. I tried a lot of places, but they were all pretty much the same - okay or good, but not great, main courses with lots of filler. Then an Asian friend of mine whose family has been in the culinary and sports world internationally for many years recommended Fortune Garden. The best Chinese restaurant in the area, for sure. You really get a lot of what you order, consistently great food and great service. We just wish they were open on Mondays.

My visit here today for lunch was good, the server and lady that greeted me was nice, the food was delicious and to my table really quickly which was great! I ordered the Sweet and Sour Pork Lunch Special w/ Pork Fried rice, wanton soup and an egg roll.Overall the location was nice and the people were also nice only thing I saw that really needed an improvement was the carpet because it was black in the main traffic and seating areas and the window coverings were very cheap like Home Depot cheap, but still very nice and a great place to visit for great food at a reasonable price!!Thank you for a nice 1st time experience!

My go-to “Chinese Hole in the Wall” restaurant provides huge serving on their lunch specials. Prices recently raised but still a good value, great value if you consider its two meals on one plate. Good, efficient service. I’d give it 5-Stars if they offered outdoor service. The benches outside are available where you can eat “take out”, which is pretty good but not the best.

Pretty good food, delivered to our table quickly and piping hot. We ordered the Szewan dinner and asked for a substitution, but it was overlooked. We asked for gluten-free dishes and it appears they honored that request.

Ordered the Eggplant w General Sauce (not fried) that was very much deep fried (see picture). The chicken chow fun was edible but bland. Service was fast, even on a busy night, but I will not be returning and I would not recommend this place.

Very tasty! The dinner combos are great. They come with soup, fried rice and cream cheese wonton. Generous portions. We also ordered the spicy green beans, Kung pao chicken and Egg Fu Yung. Delicious. Fresh and good food. Very friendly and thorough service.

We dont eat Chinese food often but when we do its hard to find a restaurant that serves quality Chinese food.We actually drive about 45 minutes to get to here from where we live, passing at least a dozen other Chinese restaurants along the way.We accidentally stumbled upon the place Christmas 2022 and happy now that the place we were going to go was closed otherwise we wouldve never tried this place.

Huge portion. Last time I the got lunch special, which is a great deal but today is a holiday so no lunch specials and ordered off the regular dinner menu. This is the gluten free version of chicken with broccoli (white sauce instead). It was absolutely awesome.

Sure its the proverbial hole in the wall (Award Winning Best HITW) but I decided to come here from the many recommendations... for the food! Did not disappoint! Its now our go to place. Comfort Chinese food!!! They have all the usual favorites in large family style portions. Tasty meal. Barbecue pork chow fun, Halibut with greens, honey walnut shrimp, tofu, and other soups and vegetable dishes. Best part is the left overs you can take home for another meal. Atmosphere is marginal. Service is prompt and friendly.

We loved this place and were regulars. Food was always hot and delicious. We changed our eating habits and have not eaten out in almost a year . We treated ourselves tonight and we’re so excited for Chinese food! Unfortunately, we are so disappointed in the quality of the food . Prices have gone up $5. A dish. I get inflation but &5. An item increase is ridiculous. The pork chowmein was greasy and the pork was left over pork. The chicken and green beans were hot and just ok . $30 for two items and we didn’t even get a fortune cookie or soy sauce. Soooo disappointing. I don’t think we will be back.

I found your restaurant was open and said screw leftovers, we are getting takeoutI projected you guys were brilliant and had to be great given your location, duration of business in eldo and choice to rake in on the lazies like me. :) For the first time in a LONG time I was bang-on-target.I called at 615 and you guys said pickup would be at 8pm cuz you were slammed. Cool, thats on me for procrastination.Line was out the door when i got there ..smell was getting me exited.Finally took it back and well, we were floored. Best Kungpao chicken and Wor Wonton Ive ever had. We are making it a target to come back and eat IN next year.. and to have that as a future goal. Until then we are definitely regulars and your menu has opened up the appetite of someone very close, which holds high value to me.So! I love this place, but come on order 4 plates and they gave me only 2 hot sauces when I asked for more they wanted to charge me. Also, wanted to dine in got there at 8:20 and I got refuses to dine in. Never had a bad experience at Fortune Garden, staff was rude and not flexible. I get it people have to go home, but please be more flexible.

Ordered lunch to go. Counter help charged my card. I questioned the amount. She waved me on, taking another phone order. Got out to the car and called home to see what was ordered. Was charged $58 for two items.Had to return because of overcharge. Asked for the order to be remade. Sent it out in three minutes. Same order. Very rude, food cold, and felt disrespected. They will not get our business again.

Excellent Chinese food and Im so glad this place rebuilt after being nearly lost in a fire. All the basic dishes you would commonly find in most Chinese restaurants are here but I find that the breaded items are light and not overly greasy. Stir fried items are well flavored and not sunk in oil. One favorite dish there is the eggplant in garlic sauce. I have no idea how they get it do tender without falling apart and it has a very nice sauce which is slightly sweet. The garlic is there but in the background which lets the eggplant shine. Highly recommended.

This is our go-to Chinese restaurant. And we order almost the same dishes every time: Hong Kong style seafood chow mein, halibut in black bean sauce and salt & pepper pork. Its usually delicious (thats why we order ii all the time) but the chef might have been having an off day today. Chow mein was dry, not enough sauce/gravy. Halibut was too salty and not saucy enough. S&P pork lacked salt. We all have bad days. Will try again next month ☺️ Staff is always welcoming, so thats consistent. Food was still hot when I picked it up. Lots of parking up front. Staff were all wearing masks.

This is my first time ordering from this restaurant and the food was absolutely horrible. The fried prawns were burnt and didnt even taste like shrimp. The broccoli was mushy in the Broccoli Beef, the noodles were also mushy in the Chow Mein, and the meat in the sSweet and Sour Pork tasted bad. I will never order from this place again!!

This place was AMAZING!! My boyfriend and I went here for Christmas dinner and I am usually very nitpicky about restaurants (drives my boyfriend absolutely mad lol ) but it was so delicious!! We had 4 entrees (so we could have leftovers) sesame chicken, broccoli beef, sweet and sour pork, pork chow mein, and cream cheese ragoons. A friend of mine recommended this place a couple of years ago and have never been disappointed! The rice is always fresh and the best entrée on the whole menu is thai basil beef. Regular is spicy but you can ask for no spice. Either way the dish is perfection!

I have been going to Fortune Garden for a long time. The food is fresh and very good. I love the wonton soup, filled with veggies that are done to perfection, not over cooked. The asparagus beef is excellent and even my vegetarian mom loves the fried eggplant and sauteed green beans. I love the sizzling rice soup as well. I have tried every other place -from spots up in Placervillve, Cameron Park, Folsom, Sacramento, and Fortune Garden is my favorite. The gold standard for local Chinese!

I gave my daughter a $100 gift certificate because she was new to the area and her experience was AWFUL!Not only was the food not editable but they were rude when she asked to replace it. They would not give her a refund or refund the $80 balance. And they had the nerve to tell her to go sell the balance if she didnt like their food!!The manager (who sold me the certificate on the phone) would not even talk to her!!That is totally unacceptable and not only will she not be a repeat customer, she will actively drive business away!!Shame on them for telling her to sell it!!

I used to eat here years ago, always good food/service, then moved away for a long time and just moved back to EDH. I had been going to the Panda Express, which is just ok and WAS cheap, then they jacked their prices up.So I looked around and remembered this old hidden gem. Its in one of the oldest, if not the oldest strip malls in EDH, right behind the el dorado saloon.My order was ready earlier than expected when I arrived early, everyone working there was masked and gloved. Hand sanitizer was available at the front counter.My food was well wrapped. I got the seafood dinner for 2. Anything that might leak like the soup was overwrapped with a tied plastic bag. The crispy calamari had two corners snipped off the box to keep the stream from taking the crunch out of the calamari. Food is still as delicious as before, large portions, great prices.Ill be back!

This is good Asian food for the area, but I have been disappointed with some of their dishes. For example the Kung Pao is not good. Call far ahead on busy nights (weekends) as it can take longer than they estimate. Dining in you will be rewarded with fresh, hot housemade donuts for dessert.

This place is horrible we went online and then called and ordered and the total amount due was ten dollars more than what we thought. When we asked why they told us they didnt use the online prices anymore. Also when we showed them the price was different online then what they were charging us they told us there was nothing they could do about it. So we ended up having to leave the food there and get a full refund. The lady also freaked out on us for being a couple minutes late due to us not knowing how far we were away. And when we told the lady that she said it didbt matter when she said ten mintes we needed to be there at that time. We were only four minutes late. I would not recommend this place at all very rude staff.

I used to think that most neighborhood chinese restaurants were pretty much the same but Fortune Garden is a gem with great prices, BIG portions, and they are also really fast. Exceptional ramen is hard to find but Ton chin has it! The classic tonsure broth was so perfectly crafted it almost tasted of cream despite being made with no dairy at all. The homemade noodles were springy and the pork was cooked to perfection. TLDR: This ramen makes other ramen restaurants taste like theyre selling you cup of noodles.

This was my first time here and the costumer service at the front was horrible.I mentioned to them that their costumer service is bad and when the food came it was so salty that I was unable to eat the food.
