Surprise delightful quiet retreat on a hill near Civic Center with easy access to Hwy 101. The commendable kitchen provides sliders to crab cakes and breakfast buffet. Public areas are attractive and service is friendly and attentive. Winning combination of rooms and comfort.
We did not even get a hello coming in. First time Ive been greeted in a hotel that way!The room was dark and the AC was terribly noisy.Not a great experience although the beds were okay.
Highs: pool and hot tub were great, and room was clean. Lows: Location is a bit out of the way and there was a little freeway noise.
I liked the room but it could have been remodeled. The bathroom seemed old and the drain was clogged so we had to take it out. The pack-n-play that they gave us didn’t fold right and we have a grumpy toddler. I would have liked to see hot chocolate and apple cider in the lobby like when l went in December. The room was overall pretty good and the breakfast was unbeatable at any hotel.
Great location on the hill walking distance to the shops in Terra Linda.Restaurant Bar is super convenient and nice place to hang out for drink with the friendly staff Cleaning staff was not really on top of things otherwise would have given it all a full 5 star

Pretty good hotel. The rooms were decent, a little cramped though. Pool and hot tub area is nice in the center courtyard. Some good amenities like the bar for food and drinks late and the big breakfast buffet, however they are pretty expensive.

Great hotel. I came for the jacuzzi and was not disappointed! It is big and warm. There is tremendous value here. The $20 breakfast buffet is the best deal in Marin County. ($22 on weekends! ) This property is classy and feels warm and inviting . The bar and restaurant have good food and atmosphere. World Class services is everywhere!
First hotel I have ever stayed in that refuses you the Free Breakfast if you use a discounted Senior Room Rate. Was told by Jackie at the front desk this morning that the full room rate has to be paid to get the free breakfast. No discounted special rates are allowed. Very disappointing! Wont stay there again. Seniors really count on the free breakfast. The Hampton Inn Suites and the Hyatts offer free breakfast on any discounted room rate.
Headline is, they kind of cheap out. And I dont leave bad reviews often.Sold a room with a view, but the view was the highway, on a ground floor. Okay, at least the rest is nice.So we go to the rest.The fires near the pool need to be turned on by maintenance, and they seem reluctant to do so. Waited 30 minutes for that to turn on. The large, community fire is the only thing that will heat you up in late fall, but its great to be outside...And for some reason, that fire has far narrower operating hours than the other one, and the pool beside it. Do you want us to freeze? Propane is cheap.Breakfast was sub-par, if not inedible... and costs $22. I overheard free vouchers were non-splittable.Its definitely not worth what the room costs, even if the room had been properly advertised.
Booked here as it belongs to marriott. Most filthiest room. Spiders and oh my god those blankets 🙁 thats yuck! Not sure how it belonged to marriott. Do not stay here !
We stayed here for two nights while waiting for my car tires to get replaced. Everyone was very nice and the bartender was especially cool and friendly.The rooms were very clean, the bar and restaurant were unexpectedly great, and the hot tub was nice.I would stay here again and again!
Positive: Conveniently located near Kaiser where my husband had surgery. The staff was very courteous and accommodating. We appreciated the restaurant inside the hotel given weather conditions. The parking area was close to our room for easy wheelchair transport Negative: Theres a current trend for hotel beds to be quite elevated making it difficult for short people like me to get into. A comfortable chair to rest on would be appreciated as I have painful back issues. There was an office chair but it was not comfortable.
Positive: Location Negative: There are different beds in certain parts of the hotel. Very hard beds in the front and new soft beds in the back left corner on the third floor. There was hair in each of the rooms I stayed in. No free breakfast even though I am a member and a CC holder.
This is my go-to for stays in the Bay Area. Staff is friendly, the rooms are clean with a mini fridge and a microwave, and parking is free. There’s a pool and a workout room. It’s convenient to SF. Most of all, it’s well-managed and well-prices. Even recommend the on-site restaurant for breakfast and dinner, and great options across the street. And, fyi, I stay here over 30 nights a year for business.
Positive: The room was pleasant, a little dated, the location was good. Negative: Layout initially confusing. Asking for a ground-level room and then having to take the elevator up a level Slow wash basin drain - took a long time to drain. Damage to the shower wall. Trash in hallway Noisy neighbors at 11:45pm was disturbing.
I loved my stay here and would definitely recommend it to anyone traveling to Marin for business or leisure. I was in the process of moving back to Marin, and ended up staying at this location. The value to comfort and atmosphere ratio is excellent.The location is very central and convenient for getting around Marin County and all other destinations in the region including the city of San Francisco. The hotel staff were friendly and engaging. I didnt know my two-night stay would turn into about five or six nights, and the staff always greeted me and made me feel welcome.Having a full restaurant and bar in the hotel was very convenient. The breakfast buffet was great with a lot of variety. There were also a lot of options for lunch and dinner. I had dinner with a glass of wine one night and everything was delicious, and the atmosphere was very nice and quiet. Another nice perk (no pun intended) was the coffee one can help themselves to in the hallway of the lobby.There is a lovely courtyard in the center of the hotel featuring an inviting hot tub and pool. I regret not getting in the hot tub as it was mid fall and getting chilly, but it was nice to have the option. There is also a fitness center I did not visit. An amenity I did take advantage of was the onsite laundry room. I almost went to a laundromat when a staff member informed me that I could do laundry in the hotel. It was very convenient and clean.The room and everything in it was nice, clean, and comfortable. I can tell the building itself is older, but everything seems well maintained and updated. The room had a big screen TV, a desk with chair, a lounge chair, microwave, refrigerator, and everything else one typically would need during a hotel stay, and the heater kept the room nice and cozy.Again, I would recommend staying here if you want to be comfortable in a nice atmosphere without feeling like youre paying too much.
Positive: Easy to get to, has cookies and coffee in the lobby that we loved. No charge for parking. The room was clean and the beds were comfy. Negative: Only minus was the bathroom... small, with one sink. Made for one person, not two getting ready at the same time.
If youre having a guess, visit the area & dont have room at your house. This place is awesome. I actually do mini stay cations here.

EXCELLENT HOTEL!!!! Super comfy bed, EXCELLENT breakfast. Was there for a week, and it was genuinely the highlight to come back to after very long cold and wet days working. The only comment I wish, thd bar would be open later.

Clean room with all the typical amenities. Decor is somewhat dated and the comforters were horrible. Front desk was friendly and very helpful when confronted in person. However, when calling from the room, they would never pick up. Fitness center had dumbbells up to 50lbs and several elliptical and treadmills.Decent stay for the money.
The hotel appears to be nice once inside but that is not the experience I was provided.My problem with the stay was that the slider to the patio, which lead to a common area for anyone to access, was not on the tracks and therefore could not be secured properly. Due to the door not being closed properly, the room was exposed to the elements like bugs and debris from the outside. I requested that the situation be addressed in the capacity that they were able to and was told that maintenance was going to stop by to address the situation. After a few hours, I inquired in person at the front desk to find out what the best course of action was and the very kind lady stepped aside to personally inquire from the maintenance staff nearby. After all of this, there was still no resolution and I checked out 3 nights early and moved to another hotel that valued my safety and security.As some background, I stay at hotels more often than I am stay at my own residence so please do not take my review lightly.Full Story:Upon arrival at the hotel, I was greeted with a smiling face and a few kind laughs. I was upgraded complimentary to a room with patio access. I was very appreciative and got settled into my room. I found a very up to date room with some space to move around in. The bathrooms are nice. The King bed was very comfortable and clean.The towels were nice sized but smelled of cleaning agents to a degree that I have never experienced before.I arrived back to the hotel after my ventures of the day to find leaves and small twigs under the AC unit for the room. After noticing these items I found the patio door to be slightly cantered at the bottom away from the building allowing appropriately sized objects to pass through with ease. I was able to slide the door with more than average pressure and was concerned that I had just left all of my personal belongings in an unsecured room. I investigated the door and found that there was a aftermarket locking mechanism installed but due to the door being off track the lock was rendered useless. I sat down at the desk in my room and found small bugs crawling on my belongings.I called up to the desk to have the situation handled and the beginning of this review is how it ended.PLEASE do not stay here just because it is a Marriott, there are much better hotels in the area for around the same price.For management,I am sorry that the situation was not addressed properly by staff and I understand that this experience could have been avoided by a simple room change or someone actually coming out to investigate the situation. These options were not offered to me and this is the reason I checked out. For future situations like mine, please take into consideration the safety of your guests and their belongings.

Took a family trip up to Muir Woods and stayed here the night before. First time in a Four Points, and it was excellent. Front desk staff were welcoming and efficient at both check-in and check-out. The room was great, spacious and modern. Beds were comfortable and well-maintained, bathroom was clean, Wifi worked great. Laundry facilities were great too, which is always a welcome surprise. The restaurant and bar at night served good food, the deviled eggs in particular. The breakfast offerings the next morning were quite good too. So overall, great experience!
As a platinum member, I received bonus points and free breakfast for welcome gifts. The check in person wasn’t able to check us in when I arrived early but made sure that our preference was saved so that when the rooms became available later the day, we got what we wanted. Complimentary bottled water for elite member. The breakfast was above and beyond my expectation. Hot food included eggs Benedict. The bagel was superb. Scrambled eggs were cooked to perfection (not dry). If there was one thing to note, the bathroom ceiling was really low like 6 foot high only, but it wasn’t something the staff can change. Not sure why the bathroom was built that way. The sleeping area ceiling is much higher at probably 9’. We stayed in a first floor unit and don’t know if the ceiling heights are different in different parts or floors of the hotel. AC was nice and strong and overall clean. The lobby was welcoming.
A bit dated but clean, and all the basics are there. Convenient location if you have a car, and plenty of free parking. Restaurant was unexpectedly amazing - delicious burgers, pasta and probably the best chicken sandwich Ive ever had. Korean chicken wings were really good, highly recommend if you are ok with a bit of a spicy flavor. All staff were very professional and friendly. We will be back!
It was fine. Not great. The shower head was really low. Im average height so not really tall and I had to squat to fit under it. Probably would try a different hotel next time we are in the area.
Ive lived here my whole life and needed a place for my friends to stay when I brought them home to Marin for a visit. The staff at the Four Points Sheraton in San Rafael was courteous and accommodating with my large group, and the facilities were beautiful. I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the continental breakfast - eggs benedict? Fresh lox and capers? OMG! Overall a fantastic stay that I would recommend to all.
Ive stayed here a few times and the service is always excellent! They have delicious cookies and a very good breakfast buffet. The rooms are clean, however the beds arent always the most comfortable. Its located close to lots of food choices and shopping centers in case you forgot to pack your essentials. I would recommend staying here for sure.
This hotel didnt disappoint me as far as health and safety and cleanliness is concerned. The room was clean. This was a very cozy room, we had microwave and refrigerator. It was a good size for a family of 3. We had a great experience in this hotel. Location is close to stores and to the places that we went to. Will definitely stay in this hotel again if we ever go back to the area.
Was itching in bed all night. Could be the soap used or lack of? But whats really disappointing is a very unpleasant situation that could have been completely avoided if staff and management would have handled things better! Sad! It could have been a nice day..
Though the hotel room was a bit dated, the room was very comfortable. What made the stay was the hotel’s personnel: very pleasant and very helpful! The breakfast buffet, especially on the weekend morning we were there was absolutely fantastic! The wait staff at the restaurant was great! The pool looked inviting but we opted to only use the Jacuzzi which was wonderful.
If you love visiting San Fran but dont want to be right in the big city. I highly recommend this hotel. It has beautiful pool and outdoor area with a fire pit. Great, amazing food. Everyone is friendly and helpful. It is near anything you might need. The beds are super comfortable and you can access all your streaming services from the TV. You are surrounded by rolling hills of San Rafael but are minutes fro San Francisco. Driving to San Fran you go across the Golden Gate bridge and right into the city so you can play at the Wharfs or visit the museums. You are even closer to Sausalito so you can dine right on the ocean with San Fran in the background and enjoy shopping. My daughter and I were there for a water polo tournament and had an absolutely lovely time. The breakfast buffet was a big hit. I highly recommend and would defiantly stay there again.
First of all, this is a very clean facility and very comfortable. We stayed for six days during the Thanksgiving holiday. It is the second or third time weve stayed in this location. The hotel was able to accommodate us having adjoining rooms during part of our stay since our grandchildren stayed for two nights with us. All of the staff is so friendly and they greet us wherever on the property we encounter them. We were particularly impressed with Chef Damien and his staff in the restaurant. The Sheraton Four Points has the most delicious and wonderful breakfast buffet. The food is hot, well prepared and such a variety!! During the time we stayed, the hotel was rather full but there was no problem in getting a seat. Chef Damien even went to the effort and found the Ohio State football game on the television all the way west in California! Due to the time difference, our favorite football team was playing. Since we have family in the area, this is definitely our go to home away from home when we are visiting Marin County!
Nice enough hotel. They upgraded us to a larger room which was great since we had visits from family members also staying there. Not too clean but thankfully we brought Clorox wipes. Front desk was not knowledgeable about transportation options to get to SFO. I eventually figured out that Lyft (not Uber) was the way to go. Breakfast was enhanced by a station where a friendly young man cooked eggs any way you like. My family enjoyed the pool area.
We appreciated the recent remodel of a somewhat older facility. The pool looked inviting in the evening although the early morning hours electrical cords were snaking across the area and in the pool as children were swimming. The bartender did a great job making drinks and they were reasonably priced and well presented. Our room was in the back and the view was such that we kept curtains closed. We were fine with this since we received a lower rate through a third party.
I was in the North Bay for holidays and stayed here in one room and my daughter and her partner stayed in a second room. Everything was clean and comfortable. Omelet bar and breakfast buffet were great (and worked for my gluten-free needs). Convenient location to stores and freeway. Heated pool and hot tub were open Thanksgiving 2021. Plenty of free parking. Also, some added perks if youre an Elite Bonvoy member. Ill definitely stay here again.
This hotel is so great! The front staff are phenomenal, always helpful and informative. The management (as well as all the staff) goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is a pleasurable as possible. We have stayed at many hotels in the area and we have found that this one is, by far, our favorite. It is hard to find a place with such genuinely nice and accommodating staff. 10 Stars!
The furniture is all pretty tired and worn. Since I tend to stay there 2 or 3 times a week I’m somewhat more critical about the appearance of each room. They tend to be lacking in their consistency in terms of bottled waters being in the rooms which having it available is a nice touch. I rarely ever see a person that could be management. And it appears there is no one evaluating the rooms in terms of repairs or replacing broken or worn items such as shower curtain rods that are coming apart at the wall, severally chipped or marred furniture, etc. But again, the cleaning staff does an excellent job with what they can do to make each room clean & livable. I believe management spends little to no time in the rooms OR they don’t care how the rooms look. It’s time to open the dining room for dinner in order to get the customers inside the hotel. Their competitor’s are open.

The room was comfortable and very clean. Those are the most important things to me. The staff were friendly and helpful. We did not eat at the restaurant so I cannot comment on the food. The heated pool was a nice bonus
I have stayed at this property for the last 6yrs, and my experience has always been quite good. This time I had to be moved twice due to problems with the room. As much of a headache as this was, the staff was amazing and comped me 1 nights stay for my trouble. Other than this, the hotel was in great shape, restaurant open again, good food and everything very clean. I will be back!
Great staff!! Very clean and comfy rooms although a bit small (but they made them work). Safe and great price for the area! Good buffet breakfast on weekends, a bit more limited on weekdays ($21 per person.) Easy and fast check in/out. Plenty of parking.A bit tricky to walk to places if you wanted to go for a walk (big ramp to go up/down) and to get to shopping or restaurants.

I grew up in Marinwood and Terra Linda in the 60s and 70s (Terra Linda High Class of 1975). I remember when the hotel was built in the mid-1960s, as the Holiday Inn, with its restaurant and lounge Andarons. It was a Terra Linda hotspot in the 70s and 80s. I moved away in the 80s, but for 40 years I have returned often to visit friends here and always choose to stay here - when it was Clarion, then Wyndham Gardens, and now Four Points. Andarons is gone but the basic hotel is still here, and so are my nostalgic memories. And the services just keep improving every time. Always comfortable, clean, friendly and helpful. Thank you! We were very welcomed by Asst Mgr Michael. We stayed only one night for a wedding, but Michael gave us the low down on the facility and the wedding venue. He encouraged us to contact him directly if there were any concerns during our stay. The only thing we had trouble with, was that the hotel is in the middle of converting all their locks and our room had yet to go through the conversion. We inadvertently were given a key for a new door lock and we had to return to the lobby for an appropriate key. The hotel is next to the freeway, but the noise is very minimal. For the daily rate, this was a wonderful hotel.
Hotel entry, hallway and room smelled like smoke, even though it was a non-smoking property. The Entry also had plastic curtains and industrial fans in the hallway. I asked the front desk if we could move to another tower that wasnt under construction, and she asked I returned to the lobby. As she was assisting on a room change the Manager rudely came over to say it wasnt under construction, his definition of construction is a hammer and saws being used. Then he went on to say it couldnt have smelled like smoke, but after me trying to explain in a now escalated voice that it did smell like smoke or something like smoke, he decided to tell me that there was water damage from flooding and it might be that. He said that is why they were using fans and plastic curtains. I said great so now we are smelling wet carpet and wet walls. He tried to say that was no big deal and they already used high tech mold detectors. Then he went off to investigate the smoke smell himself. The front desk girl was very nice, got us another room, but to be honest the other tower smelled too. The hotel is just old and smells old. Sorry to complain but not happy. The manager then went out of his way to write a letter to me personally with a rude tone and to refer to my wife twice as my girlfriend in the letter, even though I said my wife could smell cigarette smoke multiple times. The manager tried to give me complimentary breakfast for two for two days, but to be honest I didnt want to eat here after the rude reception. When we were leaving we witness people smoking right out side the entrance and opening the side door with cigarettes puffing in their mouths.
Nice room, bed was comfortable, many pillows to choose from depending if you like soft or firm, etc. Air conditioner worked well to whatever temperature you set. Spacious room. Tub and nice flow on shower. Definitely a feeling like they care and are consumer oriented. Three levels of curtains in room so can choose level of light filtering or black out. Plenty of outlets for electronical devices. Free wi-fi, free TV and HBO and other channels with personal welcome on TV screen upon arrival. Flat screen tv, larger mini-fridge, microwave, complementary water and all needed items in room upon arrival, including robe, slippers, iron and board, hair dryer. Condiments for coffee, tea, and all toiletries provided including mouthwash and lotion, etc. Very recycle conscious which I appreciated such as no plastic can liners, full bottles of shampoo and conditioner and body wash in shower, and recycle can in room next to trash. Nice touches everywhere such as outdoor dining, fireplace inside and outside, towels at pool. Everything was very clean. Pool was nicely heated. Unfortunately, hot tub was same temperature as pool which was basically not hot. Super fabulous breakfast which opened at 6:00 AM (very nice with full staff) and included salmon, omelets, and all you could want for breakfast. Every staff person was very professional, pleasant, courteous, helpful, and they obviously choose the best of the best to work there. Very clean grounds with outside recycle and refuse available. So many positives, only negative was hot tub and even without hot tub would recommend and would stay again. Very pleased for $205/night. Excellent value. Thanks.

I thoroughly enjoyed my last minute stay at this hotel when allergies at a familys home made it necessary to check into a hotel. The reservation was easy to book and on-site staff from the receptionist to servers at the buffet were polite, kind, and informative. The pool and jacuzzi is very nice for the price of the hotel room.
We’re here for Mothers Day weekend and noticed several elderly folks hauling their own bags into and out of the hotel. Restoring bell service would be appreciated. We used the pool and spa on both visits. The pool was clean and warm, but the spa had green algae on the walls.The black iron fencing around the pool needs a coat of paint. Gloss black rust resistant paint should be used.Large bath towels should be available at the pool. The small towels are a joke.Towel service should be provided daily in the rooms on request with courtesy.Loved the breakfast service before the pandemic. Please bring it back.

What a great place to stay! The rooms were clean, and provided a humidifier to clean the air in the rooms to ensure cleanliness and safety of its guest. The Chef was wonderful! Came out and personally thanked us for eating with him for breakfasts and dinner. It was overall a great experience and if I am in the area again, I will definitely stay there.
This is such a beautiful hotel, well located. Rooms are clean, complimentary water bottle and coffee. Theres breakfast buffet but its not free. The servers are friendly and helpful. You can also have omelet made to order. Dinner is available at the hotel Hillside Tavern if you dont want to drive out. Theres pizza, steak, babyback ribs, salads or salmon as choices. Theres a mall area across where you can find Walgreens, Safeway and few restaurants. Itll be half hour+ drive to the vineyards whatever the occasion!
It was a nice enough hotel but fir the price we paid, I expected a little more. The beds were comfortable. Our room overlooked the highway so it was convenient but we heard the traffic. There was an access door out to the room that was missing a door handle and the hole was never covered up. We didn’t use it but the pool area looked beautiful.
They actually come and clean up the rooms daily. Wow I forgot what that service was like. And parking was included. Seems like everyone is adding that on to the bill these days. Very nice and friendly hotel.

We keep coming back to this place because it has some of the most wonderful staff (particularly Lavina at the front desk) who greet us and make us feel like we are coming home! It also has mature palm trees around the clean and lovely patio pool area and great beds and is really clean. We stay a lot and every time we find something new to like. The few times we have had teeny issues, they are addressed immediately. This is a wonderful place.
This hotel is outdated and dirty. The lobby looks nice but it’s all downhill from there. The rooms are dirty, old, stinky. The bathroom makes you want to wear shoes to shower. Pool is nice.
Honestly I was disappointed. The staff were nice. The hotel room itself was in need of refurbishment. We stayed three nights. The AC unit was as loud as a 747 engine, keeping us awake all night. Every day we were there we were awakened by the sound of someone trying to clear out a drain and plunging sounds. There was one working elevator and no one was monitoring social distancing, creating conflict when I had to tell someone to please not come in as my young child is not vaccinated and it’s supposed to be in one family at a time. The entire four days, they did not fix the elevator and they had large parties staying there. Forcing a long long wait or to take the stairs to the top floor. Could go on about the older bathroom and falling tiles. It is what it is. We called ahead to let them know we had a long drive and would be in late. they must have gave us the oldest room in the place. We are not asking for a refund. Just wow! The service here was above and beyond. From Jacqueline making my children and I feel so welcome even though we trudged up to her desk at midnight for check-in to Joe the next day helping get my next day arriving family into a wonderful room after a reservation mix-up. We froth like we were staying with family! The interior and patio area was a luxurious oasis in the middle of San Rafeal. But it was truly the warm and accommodating staff that made us not only love our stay- but immediately book another one in the near future along with an event room with Aasha ( who has also been so helpful! )
I really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It has good service, good breakfasts, and everyone I talked to was intent on making us as happy and comfortable as possible. I would like to see them do dinner, but that is probably coming soon they said. Overall, a good experience.
The rooms are old and outdated. Shower had a hard time staying hot. The most frustrating part was the hidden pet fee. My husband talked to lady at front desk who charged a “incidental holding fee” of $100 and $20/day pet fee. What we discovered upon checkout was the pet fee was $120 non-refundable, even though they acted as if it was an incidental fee as we were registering. Just shady dealing, be up front and honest with your guests.
We got a pool room suite in this 4 story hotel. It was a small cramped room and a very loud room by the pool. Its obviously where they throw the cheapies. Food service is about a dozen items and takes about 1.5 hrs to order. Its handled by a bartender juggling a full bar. Theres only 2 elevators as far as we could tell at the campus. Prepare to wait a long time if youre not on the first floor. Pool area was nice and crowded but we werent interested in it.
The manager was not available to do the transaction for using a gift card for our stay. We were assured that when the manager comes, he/she will do the transaction so I left my gift card info with the person at the front desk. I was assured that nothing will be charged to my credit card but they did anyway. The inconvenience of calling them back to reverse the transaction and instead use the gift card was very disappointing. Then, because of the inconvenience, we were promised by the manager that 2000 points will be added to our account. That did not happen too.Please put your act together!
The 4Pts. has never been a dumpy place in my opinion. I have stayed there several times over the last few years because of a local organization I am involved with and they are the closest accommodating hotel for a reasonable price. They typically have a no pet policy, but are very considerate for service animals. In past years, I felt like the hotel was looking a little worn and some of the staff werent as helpful as they could have been. This past stay was great. The hotels have been repainted and carpet changed, the interior seems fresh instead of looking old and outdated. They provided me with a room for easy access outside to take care of my service animals personal needs. The staff was helpful when I was walking by with arms loaded and needing help with doors and elevators. The restaurant was also clean and had great service. My complaint would be that the pool didnt feel warm despite it being heated and it seemed like 4pm until my room would get cleaned, once it was overlooked because of confusion from the reservation desk about my checking out. It was quickly cleared up though. The stay wasnt 100%, but, yes, I would and will go back and certainly recommend it to others.
Staff was friendly and check in was quick. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Too bad the place had a bunch of cops all night because someone took too many painkillers and drink too much booze at the same time. They should have just removed the guy from the property rather than just monitoring him. The shower gel was out and we called room service and asked for more. They never showed up. I asked at the front desk and they said they would send someone up. Again, no one ever showed. Pool was nice! I would stay again... The price was right and it was comfortable and clean.
Extremely disappointed. I have been a bonvoy member for many years. Love staying at the Marriott hotels. However, this one the customer service was terrible. Did not have our room ready. Charged me twice for the same night when asked to be refunded they gave me an attitude. They said well, call your bank.a whole bad experience here Will not stay at this location again.
Sales manager was great before we arrived. Unfortunately, service at hotel not as good. A/C problems in conference room; no refills on toilet tissue and other bathroom items for several days;1 day room was not made up at all. Asked for info at front desk & was told I dont know, Im not from this area . Front desk doesnt use cash and couldnt break a $20 bill. Not helpful.
The hotel is located conveniently off the freeway. It’s also in a great location near a shopping mall and several restaurant options. The hotel was clean and the front desk was very friendly and helpful. We felt very welcomed. We stayed here because our friend was having a wedding in town and the front desk helped us find a room near our other friends. Overall, we all had a great experience here.
My stay at the 4 points by sheraton in San Rafael was absolutely splendid. We were there December 17-20, 2019. It was lovely. The hotel from the outside looks very different and unique. When you walk in, the friendly front desk greets and kindly answers your questions. They suggest wonderful restaurants as well and they suggest good tourist spots. The rooms are very new and clean and the TV has a lot of channels. The housekeeping did their job very well and they were extremely kind. The breakfast is just wonderful, they have so much variety! The front desk gave us a voucher for the breakfast. They even have a clean coin laundry room. The pool was closed as most of the time it was raining but it looked really clean even in the rain and the area around it was string lights and palm trees. The location was also pretty good, its about 20 minutes from downtown SF. You pass the golden gate bridge to get there so that was good as well. Whenever I come to SF, Ill only stay here.
The hotel is not the most up-to-date in terms of maintenance, style or ambience; However it served our purpose of providing plenty of space and a hot tub for wedding party fun. Coffee in the hot tub was great fun. An impromptu gathering of friends and family for breakfast was aided by staff quickly pulling chairs and tables together .. and the breakfast buffet was fine. The staff at the front desk was superb! They elevated my feelings about the hotel overall and saved the day when I needed them.
Booking process was easy through the Bonvoy app, and staff were very nice and helpful. The room was outdated and we didn’t have toiletries in our bathroom. The bed sunk in in the middle so our night was restless. We swam in the heated pool on a chilly night and it wasn’t too bad. Although, it seemed the heated jets turned off in the middle of our swim and it got really, cold really fast. We went to grab some free breakfast the next morning and it was only coffee and a couple of bread choices. Quite disappointing. There were plenty of shops and restaurants nearby which was a much needed bonus. Overall, it was an ok stay, but I think I’ll consider other options before staying here again.
I spent a pleasant stay at Four Points for 6 days. The Staff was responsive to my needs and wants.The hotel is clean and well run, the food is good and plentiful. I would have enjoyed a continental breakfast with the room instead of having to pay for it like other hotels Ive experienced. I used the a la carte menu which was OK but I didnt feelI could do justice on the $14 buffet. I liked the fruit available. The dinner menu did not have choices I prefer but it was nice for other people. I appreciated that there was a room available with bars in the bathroom to hold on to and that they could lower the mattress on the bed. I found the heat/cold adjustments not easy but eventually figured it out.I would recommend this establishment to other friends.
This place is aesthetically pleasing. The staff works very hard to make it a nice stay. There are milultiple entrance and exit points. The bottom floor rooms have a patio available for some outdoor relaxing. There is a restaurant and bar on site and the pool is heated. The area around the pool is very relaxing. The fireplace starts going at a certain time. If they see people congregating around the small fireplace, staff is very quick to turn on the bigger fire pit. They were very accommodating.Breakfast is not free($21 p/person). The wifi is strong and their cable is top notch, the TVs allow for streaming from your personal stream carrier; ie. Netflix, Amazon Prime...
Check in was very quick. Very safe neighborhood. Hotel is on its own little hill.Very quiet and beautiful hotel.I have stayed in bigger rooms, but size of room was decent.Big screen smart t.v.Staff was very friendly, especially the general manager.We had some coffee and orange juice in the morning along with some pastries, all provided by the hotel.My son attends Dominican University of California nearby. This will be our go to hotel from now on. Also, a little less expensive than other hotels in the area.Very happy we stayed here.
The hotel was very comfortable and welcoming. Rooms were in need of updating in terms of decor; but the TV was state of the art.We did not eat at the hotel; so I cant comment on the food. The Bar looked welcoming!
I would have expected a better experience, sadly the comfort of the bed was far from great. The bed was the hardest Ive ever slept on and it was layed with sheets and a (slim) comforter (which was like a sheet) For the amount I paid... that was quite disappointing. The food is good, pool is nice (not very heated at all) and staff was fine.We did find a spider in our room and the internet quality was terrible. If this is reviewed by a hotel staff, I would love a call to discuss these issues.The big question, would I stay again... yes, but it may not be my first choice.
I’ve stayed at multiple recently renovated Four Points and have appreciated the Four Points makeover SPG recently conducted on the brand. The staff at the San Rafael were lovely and the food at the hotel was good. The actually rooms still need work. The mattress was very comfortable, but the room I was in had no bed frame! Just a mattress sitting on top of 2 twin box springs- not event a dust-ruffle included. There was a wire that was falling off and dangling off the wall. The walls themselves need to be resurfaced to give them a clean modern feel from the textured surface reminiscent of the 70s. The shower curtains need to be cleaned. In general, the room has the basics (it was decently clean, had hot water, and the bed was comfortable), but too many details were missed such that I wouldn’t recommend this location to others.
If you need a hotel that is between inland north of Oakland yet not too far from SFO, this hotel is a good choice. Very comfortable, not too large but fashionable. The rooms are comfortable the main areas attractive and the staff is super friendly.
Just not up to par. They had to redo our keys twice. Nothing worse than driving 10 hours. Finding room on 4th floor down long hallway and keys dont work! And again latter during the stay keys were deactivated. The rooms are dark and tired. Phone did not work.Its an old hotel, they tried to spruce up. Parking is not easy, small spaces.
The crew at the Four Points San Rafael worked very hard to make sure my stay was comfortable. The whole staff was top-shelf, including the night crew, the breakfast group, and the maintenance guy, but Diana at the front desk was a stand-out. She was super-friendly and competent. She had helpful tips about the surrounding area, and managed graciously a small problem that occurred during my stay. Frankly, her performance greatly exceeded my expectations. Id not hesitate to recommend the property or stay again. I look forward to visiting again soon.For Marriott members, keep in mind that the Four Points brand is a-bit more self-serve compared to some of the high end brands you may be used to visiting. This property is in a convenient location and parking is easy, and the overall experience is at the very top of what you would expect from the Four Points brand.
Negative: The refrigerator was leaking and the carpet was soaked. Alerted front desk 3x and problem was never addressed. Adjacent wooden portion of floor quickly became dangerously slippery. Alerted housekeeping myself and still no correction.
I wish I could say I loved it, and If the bed wasnt EXTREMELY uncomfortable, the other bed not super noisy and people werent doing construction (?) then I would.The room was beautiful, court yard, even the elevators were bright and very clean.I wish I could remember the name of the dark haired gentleman that gave me hot coffee at 145 in the morning!!He was so kind and made me feel like he was welcoming me into his homeGet better beds and you will have 5 stars!
Rooms were spacious, clean and smoke free. They provided a microwave and a fridge at no cost. The shower had good water pressure and the bathroom had good lighting. I loved the breakfast buffet that you get a coupon for if you elect to not have the maid service clean your room daily. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Didnt get to use the pool or fitness center but both appeared nice. I wish we had stayed there longer!
Other than the walls being a little thin I couldnt be more happier with my stay. The beds were extremely comfortable. There was plenty of walking space and the staff was A-1. I will definitely be returning for any future stays.
If check-in is not until 3pm, you should offer your early clients a complimentary drink by the pool while they wait. I tried to organize an early check-in 3 days in advance and was not accommodated. I had to ask for access to the pool area to wait. It would have been nice to have that offered to us, especially since we reserved your premium room.
We stayed a week at the Four Points and in that time interacted with many staff mambers. Every single person there did their best to be helpful. The food was excellent. Front desk, Beth, was so helpful. Jose in the bar was the best. Our shuttle driver was friendly and knowledgeable of the area. The housekeeping staff was excellent. We paid extra for a room with a beautiful pool and of the the hills in the distance. We really did have a wonderful stay.
I really liked my stay. Extremely comfortable bed and the pillows were plentiful and perfect....not cheap feeling. Loved the easy access to wi-fi in my room with no code and no hassle. The free bottles of water in my room was a nice touch too. AC worked good and wasnt noisy. Also it was nice not having to leave for dinner and breakfast- both meals at hotel restaurant were tasty with fast and friendly service. I will always stay at this hotel if I am in the area....definitely was a great place to stay.
Outstanding customer service. Rooms and hotel were spectacular (very clean). Laundry area was clean and included 3-4 washer and dryers. I was able to tackle our vacation laundry rather quickly. The pool area was amazing and a fireplace was located at lobby and pool area. The hotel is centrally located and was an easy commute to San Francisco 😊
The staff were lovely and welcoming. Checked in late and I didnt need much but a place to sleep so not a lot of staff contact but the few I did encounter were very warm and welcoming.The room was average at best. A couple lights were burnt out. I had a couple things that I wanted to store in a refrigerator but there was none. The heater was part of a wall air conditioner and not very effective. Without a thermostat I had to either turn the heat on or off which meant getting up a few times in the night to adjust that. The room and the bathroom in particular were quite cold in the morning and never warmed up sufficiently to take a comfortable shower. I didnt use the tv, so not sure how that was.The decor was not only out of date but a little shabby. Things were clean and I felt sanitary, but the fixtures in the tub/shower were old and deteriorating.This would not be a hotel I would recommend to anyone wishing to have an extended stay and I would not likely visit it again when I could find comparable accommodations at a lower price. I wanted something more comfortable, more to the standards of other Starwood hotels.
Nothing but good things to say about the hotel and the staff there. Very clean rooms and hotel when I first got there. I had an issue with my ac unit and once they determined that it wasn’t an easy fix the maintenance man and the front desk staff offered me a new room and a free breakfast. I also had to leave early and the manger on duty worked with me so I wouldn’t be charged the 2 extra nights that I had already booked and gave me a full refund on those unused nights. Lastly i had to leave on an early flight and left my iPad in my room. The front desk staff personally went to find it and did. They let me know they could ship it to me but I would need to pay the cost which of course I was willing to since it was my fault. The manager John even though he had personal time off came back and paid for the shipping and didn’t let me. Amazing customer service from John, amazing front desk staff, and amazing behind the scenes staff. 10/10

The public areas are beautiful and well kept! Unfortunately, we didn’t use them due to the pandemic. We just passed through these areas to get to the elevator. The room was small and dark. Furniture was outdated, and kind of beat up. No second outlet near the bed which can be frustrating. Felt like we were in the basement on the zero floor. Didn’t like that feeling!
This hotel is perfectly situated to do lots of different things in the Northbay. The staff is incredibly responsive and friendly, and the price is completely affordable. The pool is very nice, Perfect for families! I will say that some parts need a little more maintenance, but that’s more just polish. I don’t need my hotel to be in perfect appearance. Room was very clean and the housekeeping staff was very good. I would highly recommend this for families.

Great property, close to the highway and restaurants. Nice small bar with a great bartender! Rooms were nicely appointed and very clean. Cool fire pits out on the patio. Nice size pool and jacuzzi. Breakfast buffet was decent and staff in the dining area were lovely.
Clean hotel with helpful staff. I was able to check out at 1 pm with no extra charge. Hotel bar serves appetizers and hamburgers until 9:30 and drinks till 10. The Korean style wings I ordered looked and tasted like they could have been from PF Changs! Very pleasant outdoor seating with fire place and fire table.
I was attending a conference at the hotel. The room was fine, if a little shabby. The air conditioner was quite loud and didnt really cool the room; however the weather was fair, so no real inconvenience. I appreciated the hand rails on the bath/shower. The bathroom was spacious. I was surprised that there was only bar soap and not shower gel as one of the amenities, but thats just fine, too. I would have liked to be able to use the pool before breakfast and still make it on time to my 10am conference, but eating before worked out.
We stayed at this hotel from 2/25 - 3/1, during home renovations. We checked in late Sunday evening and realized we had forgotten to request a feather-free room. The front desk agent said all housekeeping staff were gone for the night, but the engineer would be up to help us.We pulled all of the bedding out of our room and placed it in the hall while the engineer went to find other bedding. He was extremely helpful, making several trips to our room, as he wasnt sure where all of the bedding items were located in the hotel. Eventually, we had what we needed, we tipped the engineer well for his trouble, and the rest of our stay was uneventful.We especially enjoyed the breakfasts each morning. There was a good variety of options. The dining staff were terrific and made a point of recognizing guests who were there for multiple days or return visits.When we checked out, the front desk agent pointedly asked us to give them a 5-star review. I told her everything had been fine, and I would submit a review when I had a chance. When our credit card bill arrived a week or so later, we saw two charges from Four Points, even though we had stayed on award points and had already paid our breakfast charges. One erroneous charge was for $220, and the other was $411.74.I called the hotel and explained the situation to the employee who answered, and her curt response was, Who told you no housekeeper was on duty when you checked in? Thats not true. I explained again and asked for a manager and was told that one would call me. No call came, so I reached out again through the 800 number. Following a conversation with a rep there, we received an email from an assistant manager at the San Rafael hotel, stating that the $220 charge was an error and had been credited back to our card. The other charge was for 6 pillows, 1 robe and 2 top sheets that were sent/given to you or to your guests and were not in the room on the day of check out.This is perplexing, because the items actually requested and received were:2 foam pillows with pillowcases 2 blankets2 mattress pads2 top sheets2 bottom sheets2 additional blanketsWe are Platinum members with a long history of stays at Sheraton and SPG properties with no theft charges or other behavior issues. If there was confusion as to what items should have been left in our room, a single phone call from hotel staff would have straightened everything out and prevented the need for us to work so hard to clear up the misunderstanding over the stolen items. Throughout the calls and emails, staff at the San Rafael location spoke to us as though we were trying to pull something over on them. If we hadnt checked our CC statement carefully and then fought to be reimbursed, over $600 in erroneous charges would have stood.
Pros:Check in went very smooth.Bed was very comfortable.Swimming pool and hot tub looked nice.Hot breakfast had a good variety of items.Cons:Room wasnt properly cleaned.Missed a bathrobe. Asked for a new one, didnt get it until I asked twice.Airconditioning wasnt working properly. Front desk sent someone up. Still not working properly.Locker was unusable, because it was still locked.Weird amounts charged on my credit card. After 2 days of researching front desk still couldnt give me a specification. So they just told me its some kind of deposit which Ill get back. So far I still havent got it back.Bar staff was giving us strange looks the entire time we were relaxing in the bar area.Restaurant staff in the morning during breakfast were very rude. Being grumpy and communicating (yelling like market salesmen through the restaurant) in their own language all the time. They had more attention for each other than for the guests.After settling the check, the server gave us a dirty look after looking at the bill (15% was not enough?).Even though the room was comfortable, drunk hotel guests were staying in the swimming pool/hot tub all night until about 4 am. They made a lot of noise. Staff didnt do anything about it.Same stacks of dirty plates were decorating the hallway to our room for our entire stay.
If youre looking for a comfortable business trip hotel without the extra luxuries, this one is good. It appears they cater to business travelers often. The lobby, lounge and restaurant area looks new and updated. However, the floors where the rooms are located still need updating (even though it appears they tried to make some improvements). The rooms were ok. Bathrooms are small. Overall they keep the place clean. Dont expect any luxuries or new, modern look to the rooms. The service was good in all areas. The grab and go meals are good and convenient. Service at the bar was great with friendly and attentive staff.
I believe I was told it was built in the 60s, if that tells you anything. Each room has a small in-wall AC unit that, and most of them are pretty old. Very few of them have newer digital units with a thermostat. They are all EXTREMELY noisy.The beds are hard. The bottoms sheets are not fitted and come off in the middle of the night. I dont know about you, but I dont like waking up on top of a bare mattress that isnt mine. The pillows arent much better. At the least the quality of the linens is pretty good.The bathrooms are pretty reasonable, but Ive had many issues with the shower heads. They are usually so clogged with mineral deposits that Ive had to call for maintenance.The front desk staff have generally been superb. Ive rarely had issue with them. I believe there was only one female sales manager that was ever rude to me (but with a smile). If anything, they make my stay.The dining staff on the other hand are routinely rude. I hate dealing with them. Dont get me started on the quality of the buffet. The maid staff seem nice, but will crush you with carts in an elevator. They really need to wait for an empty elevator.
We just stayed here for 5 nights, and I honestly cannot think of one thing that I didnt like about my stay. We stayed here last July for around the same amount of time and we had the same experience...nothing to complain about. The staff is super accommodating and friendly, the bed is so comfortable, love the morning Buffet and the gym. Its quiet and clean. Luxurious pool area and Lobby.. plus the location is ideal.
The hotel overall was pretty good especially since I stayed here for 5 weeks in total. The room was decent and had enough amenities. The gym was good as well; although there were times where they didnt have water available.The front desk staffs had their good days. - Beth really helped in ensuring I get the best room suited to my requirements. She was very detailed in my requirements which was perfect for me.- Michael immediately made the necessary changes and additions when I urgently needed it. He also helped with some of my hotel requirements and needs.The front desk staffs also had their bad days as well - Shaolin couldnt explain why my credit card was charged twice in one stay (the first one at the middle of my stay). That took around 30mins and the managers assistance just to try to settle the question. - Related to the first part, the manager said that when my bill reaches around $800, the hotel automatically charges my card. Thats why I was charged twice during that stay. But during my next stay, when I saw my bill, it was around $1000 total and only one charge to my card. Theres inconsistencies in the policies or the manager was not completely truthful to me.- Several times theyve forgotten my request for shuttle service and had to be reminded.I commend the engineering team as well whos helped me so much during my whole stay. William, Abel and the rest of the guys who drive me to work, fix problems in my room and just being friendly overall.I mainly judge the hotel by its people as relationship with the guest is very important to my hotel experience. Hopefully the misses can be improved and the hits maintain as hits.Thanks!
We had a wonderful experience here at this hotel. The staff members are amazing. Very welcoming and non discriminating. This place is in a very good location as well which we absolutely loved! It is the definition of high class and and comfortable. Highly recommended and will come back.
Great hotel. The pool was really nice and the outdoor seating with a fire and lights, made for a nice outdoor area at night. Our room was nice and clean with comfortable beds. The staff was extremely nice and had excellent customer service. Would stay here again.
We tried to use the pool on a Monday morning and it was extremely dirty from being used during the weekend. Staff wasn’t sure if it was going to be cleaned, but recommended we not use it. We had some very bummed kiddos that day. The rooms are not updated. It wasn’t great having a room next to the elevator, as we could hear the doors opening all through the night.
Amenities are decent, bar was decent, food menu was weak. There was a basketball team of highschool kids there that night and they heard my gf and I and kept knocking on our door throughout the night, we called security and it finally stopped. For the price of the hotel is a little rough but they did compensate some of our stay amount which was appreciated so I cant dock them any score but overall... Decent hotel
This has been our favorite hotel in Marin for the past ten years. Our October visit didnt disappoint, in fact, it was better than ever mainly because of the hotel staff. Steve at the front desk was exceptional and made us feel like very special guests. As travel writers we visit many hotels in the West and this one has the best breakfast buffet. Comfortable beds, quiet rooms, not far from SF, inviting swimming pool area, reasonably priced. Definitely recommend.
My room was spacious and had everything I needed. I find the bedding very difficult to open, with the numerous layers. I loved the choices of pillows!There were many folks around the pool. I had to ask each day for the beach towels to be replenished. When I mentioned the whirlpool was not working, a maintenance man came immediately to reprogram it.The breakfast buffet is excellent!! thank you!
My husband and I stayed here for an anniversary weekend recently. While the hotels appearance is nice, our stay was unsatisfactory. First, it was too far from airport and the sites in San Francisco. More importantly, our room door didnt lock when closed. Unfortunately, we didnt realize it until after our first nights stay. Very unsettling that anyone couldve pushed our door and been inside immediately. We informed the front desk upon setting out for the day (at 5am). Returned at appx. 3pm and realized door had not been repaired (and housekeeping had not cleaned the room either!). Hotel staff didnt seem too concerned. I had to insist on a new room. New room was nicer but we were woken up before 6am by someone wearing high heels in room above us. So loud sounded like she was in our room. This went on until 10am. Overall, not a pleasant stay. Will not be returning to this hotel when in Northern California.
During Covid our frontline faces of Sheraton need to shine around those masks! The Saturday morning staff were amazing! They were friendly, helpful, thoughtful in every way. The young woman at the Registration desk Friday could learn a lot from them. Our unhappy indifferent ‘Registrar’ barely spoke, was matter of fact and said only words she had to say during the process. There was no “welcome to San Rafael Four Points Sheraton, hope you have a nice stay... etc. Instead it was “I need your ID and credit card, ...here is your room key” (no directions what building etc.), she failed to tell us of a known issue-sticky doors, sometimes takes a couple of tries to access room. Instead, we struggle, can’t get back in room, ask to be moved, she says nothing, just tells us new room number, no apology, because that would take effort. She walked silently, opened room door we could not get in, handed us new keys, told us room number, turned and walked away. We will think twice about ever staying there again. There was also a known issue with a side entry door. People put a rock to keep door ajar. Who is leading staff and facility issues for this property? The guy and gal Saturday morning were exactly what I would expect. Welcoming, happy, and helpful!
We checked into our room and the air conditioning was not working and it was over 100 degrees outside. We requested a new room, which we did get. Comments were made by the staff this is an ongoing issue. Was very dissatisfied with smoking issues. You post signs that this is a non-smoking facility, yet there are ash trays around and people smoking outside my room. It was very unpleasant. Overall the hotel needs a good facelift. Great location. As a Marriott Platinum Member, I expected the same level of hotel standards that I have had at Marriott properties, and was very disappointed.
We just had the most wonderful weekend here . From the moment we walked into the lobby, we were greeted with the best smiles and faces ever. Our room which was #318 was perfect..We are going back in Oct..hope to request this room). Check in was great. The houskeeping was so pleasant (Sandra) was kind and very attentive to our needs. Pool was great!! Bartender made me the best drink ever.And last but not least the food in the restaurant was AMAZING....Check out was fast,,,,We love the short ride to Sonoma wineries.
Great service and awesome Internet connectivity. I asked the front desk to get me a wired connection for my Zoom meetings and they had me up in less than 20 minutes. This is a company that understands how to provide amazing service and isnt stuck in the last century.
I stayed for only 1 night at the Four Points in San Rafael. From the start, your two front desk service personnel were absolutely professional and extraordinarily pleasant. I checked in late so didnt get to enjoy amenities, however, the complimentary breakfast was awesome and all the staff working there were wonderful. Thank you for a pleasant quick stay!
Although the hotel looks great from the lobby, we were not overly impressed with the quality of the rooms. The staff was great and quite responsive to all requests, but the air conditioning worked sporadically, the carpet was quite dirty and the water pressure in the showers was subpar. I wasnt miserable by any means, but I wasnt overly impressed. For the nightly cost of this hotel, I was very unhappy with the conditions. I would have preferred to stay elsewhere for that price.
Surprisingly modern and clean hotel. Lots of amenities. Nice heated outdoor pool. Could definitely use some more poolside chairs and im not sure why the pool towels were the size of washcloths. Otherwise really nice hotel for the price with a onsite restaurant and bar. Lots of malls, restaurants and things to do close by.
I highly recommend this hotel. I have stayed a few times and have also referred friends. The staff is kind and accommodating. The rooms, lobby etc are all neat and clean. Restaurant and bar are great and breakfast buffet in the morning is one of the best ive had. The pool area is always nice and inviting. Its a great location being right off the freeway and right next to the mall, Starbucks, Safeway, etc. Also next to the Civic Center for local events. I always enjoy my stays here and look forward to the next time.
Overall, this is a nice hotel with nice amenities. Staff was pleasant and attentive. The rooms are decent size though the bathrooms are a bit small. My only complaints about the room was (1) the mattress sagged a bit in the middle indicating the one of two queen size beds I slept it is primarily occupied by one person and (2) the shower head was not great. The water was hot, but the pressure was lacking. Also, in the area of the hotel where I saw carpeting, it appeared not to be pinned down along the walls and buckled slightly in the middle of the hallways. Not major issues, but noticeable. The pool was great, and the breakfast buffett was good. Id stay here again though.
Amazing experience, the staff was all very welcoming and friendly. Michael who checked me in was awesome for helping us check in a bit early and was able to answer my questions about our stay. The breakfast was also top notch with many choices. We’re gonna have to come back to try that pool!
Coming from a Hyatt in Pittsburgh, the four points was a welcome change. Though on the more expensive side, it is comfortable, and well maintained. I dont feel dirty after my stay here, unlike other dingy places. Room is a nice size, comfortable bed, and quiet. Got a good night of deep sleep. Had room that faced highway but couldnt hear a thing. Its actually a great view and a nice way to see the local traffic. Good location, only 10 min walk to the mall where they have a movie theater and dinner options. Primarily stay there due to close proximity to my meetings in the AM. Had the breakfast buffet on way out. Fairly priced, quiet and a decent variety of options to choose from. Overall I like staying here and would recommend. It is not fancy, but nice and pleasant.
I cannot thank you enough for making my stay so comfortable and accommodating my kids who occasionally travel with me to work at the County vaccination center. The staff always makes me feel at home. There was construction going on last week which woke me up after a late shift both the jack hammer and leaf blower were going in the morning!!! I requested a different room or a comp on my next stay but no one got back to me.... I love the place the pool, kind and helpful staff. So despite the noise and occasional difficulty, I will always choose the Four Points for business travel!
I usually stay in this hotel every 4-6 weeks. The staff are reliable and attentive. The rooms are quite comfortable, if compact (lighting is great). The poolside rooms are very quiet and the views of the coastal range from them unsurpassed. The internet ALWAYS works, the TV station selection is much better than that found at most Starwoods, the guest laundry room is superb. A high-end regional shopping center with a number of above average restaurants is within walking distance. Platinum recognition is the norm, even though there are no real suites or larger rooms.There are a few negatives: until recently, the breakfast buffet was among the best of any Starwood property. The chef made some truly wonderful thin crust breakfast pizzas, among other creative entrees. They seem to have disappeared. The buffet is now merely adequate. The restaurant staff are among the lesser competent employees of the property. The rooms facing the freeway should be avoided at all costs. Soundproofing is minimal and you are literally on the roadway. Furniture can be hit and miss: some rooms have ottomans, some do not. Actually finding the hotel is tricky, even with GPS....there is no signage to it.
Great staff, nicely appointed room, tasty buffet breakfast. Our interior room was peacefully quiet but a some exterior rooms can have bad highway traffic noise. Would stay there again when we come back to visit nearby Muir Woods.
Stayed here two weekends back to back and received completely different experiences. Had a upgraded room the second week and the first weeks was better. Great location beautiful outside views. Bar is nice but food was ok.pool area is really nice but with broken game tables. This facility will meet your short term needs but will annoy you at times.
Single pane windows let in lots of noise. The AC/heater is an in room unit that is loud and if you turn yours off you can hear the adjacent rooms if they have theirs on. On the plus side, service was great. Very professional staff.
Overall the hotel is fine. The location is San Rafael is very good. The hotel could use some updating - especially the bathrooms. The room cleanliness was fine. I did not eat in the dining area so I cannot comment on it.
I have had frequent stays at the San Rafael Four Points and have always been impressed with the staff.However, during this last trip I was slightly disappointed with the room. I believe it is mainly due to house keeping. We checked in and went out to dinner. Upon our return, I wanted to turn on the television and there was no remote. We called the front desk and they were fairly responsive in providing one. We had searched the room thoroughly.We later found that we were missing wash clothes. No major issue - we made due.However, in the morning - NO hair dryer.Again not a big deal, however, this is unlike the normal high standards provided by this hotel.
The property is very nice and modern. The public areas and amenities are very luxurious. The rooms on the other hand are partly renovated/modern, but the other parts such as the furnishings are tattered. Some parts of the room are Sheraton quality the other parts are more inline with $50/night motels. When hotels provide earplugs on the nightstand; it is never a good sign. Of course the walls and windows are paper thin. I can hear my neighbor crunch up a paper bag
Excellent. Friendly staff greet you upon your arrival and nothing is too much trouble for them through out your stay. The lobby area was spacious and comfortable. The rooms were large, beds very comfortable and everything was clean. The location is 1 minute drive from the freeway and seconds away from a shopping strip with a grocery store and the all important coffee. Free parking and high speed wifi made travel that bit easier.
You will have a wonderful experience and the surrounding outdoors are beautiful. The hotel courtyard/pool area, food, and service are a great combination. The facilities are a bit older and it can be pricey, but is centrally located to hiking, shopping and event venues (went for a wedding). Would recommend!
It was a great stay but when we checked out we found our car got scratched deeply by another drive who hit and ran. Reported to hotel manager, we thought they could find the footage from the surveillance camera, but we were wrong. Although we can see they have cameras around the building, but none of these worked. We parked in front of the hotel just a little bit off to the far left. Their camera didn’t cover that area that’s what the hotel said. Really disappointed. Ruined our trip.
Arrived and no room, even though I told them I would be late and they had my credit card number. They offered me and my husband a conference room with a roll-out sofa bed. Nice to know they double charge and book rooms. Not acceptable. They found a nonworking room with no curtains or water pressure next and thats where we slept. When I received the bill, they had raised my rate, and had not credited me for my unacceptable room the first night. I had to ask and demand that my original price be kept and that the first night be at least half off. This hotel is nice, but you have to demand to get a nice experience. Same thing with included breakfast. Not given--had to ask for it, and then only two vouchers given not for all three nights. Breakfast not explained in restaurant so that we thought we could only have buffet until last morning. Free coffee, free hot water in am....but no tea bags....I would not hurry back here, but I had a conference at hotel, so it worked. Not pleasant to have to keep demanding what you were promised by Sheraton.
Its ok not great. I am Bonvoy gold elite. They no longer serve complementary breakfast. Restaurant serves good breakfast for $20 pp. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Location is quite good for napa visits. I would stay here again only if I could not find a better hotel for comparable price in the area.
Very nice Hotel, clean roomy and comfortable. the only negative is bed was just a little to high for me, was hard to get up into and out . Pool area was clean and pool at a comfortable temperature according to Granddaughter and Daughter. Didnt use restaurant services, as we were pretty much on the go alot. Shopping Mall accross the Highway had plenty of food options, but used only for Breakfast with Peets Coffee and Panera.Did see food delivered poolside and looked good though.
The room was very clean and stocked. My only complain is when we called for extra toilet paper it took them 20 min for them to bring up to our room. Other then that it was a great stay.
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. Our room overlooked the pool and starting at 8 am it was as if the people were in our room - loud. The bathroom was small and outdated. For this price point the room should have been remodeled. The location was good.
Stayed here for four nights while attending a conference. Right on the 101 freeway and comfortable enough. Room was clean and looked to be in good shape. Did find that one of the dresser drawers wouldnt stay closed. Not sure if it was because the floor was sloping slightly or what, reaching to call that a complaint though. Had a small snafu one day where housekeeping didnt show up but they provided towel replacement and we were able to manage the slight inconvenience. Front desk staff is friendly as are all hotel personnel we encountered. Its not the Four Seasons, but generally a comfortable bed in this pleasant bay area community.NOTE: Hotel does offer 250 points/day if you opt NOT to have housekeeping tend your room. Just leave a little card on the door (or on the bed). Also, upon check-in you may spin a wheel at the check-in counter for bonus SPG points - up to 500 I think. A nice little perk
We stayed at Four Points San Rafael during our house hunting trip, we felt very comfortable and safe during the whole stay.All employees are nice and helpful, the hotel has clear sign to remind safety practice. The breakfast is very good, all employees and guests are respectful.
This hotel could use some updating in the halls and rooms, but the common area is very nice. The staff is what makes this hotel. First, I have never felt more valued as an SPG member or customer. They do everything they can to make your visit the best it can be. I stayed here twice in June and would gladly go back. It is a real bargain. Very close stay for redwood trees or on the way up to wine country. My husband said it was the most comfortable bed hes slept on in forever. Its not a fancy Sheraton, but is a very good value for the price paid.
Nice hotel with nice public spaces. The room was nice, but sound carried from adjoining rooms. Also, guests are out drinking by the pool until the wee hours. If you have a room facing the pool, youll hear the noise of guests cavorting in and around the pool and jacuzzi well past midnight. The staff doesnt seem to do anything to stem the noise.
I love staying at the Four Points by Sheraton San Rafael Marin County Marriott. It is always so nice when staying at this hotel. You know your room will be clean, inviting and comfortable. I have stayed numerous times and will keep coming back. My son lives in Strawberry so this is a close convenient place just minutes from where I need to be. I have had my husband and my mother stay with me and they too have been very pleased with the accommodations. The staff is very friendly and inviting and you are always asked how was your stay.
This hotel was very nice. The room was clean. Unfortunately we did not have time to enjoy the pool area but it looked spacious and relaxing. We did order room service. The food came quickly and was delicious. We will definitely stay here during our next visit.
Needed a place to stay in San Rafael. Found this on-line. Everyone in our group loved this place. Lots of parking. Easy check in with snacks and chocolate chip cookies. Beautiful pool; wish we had had the time to use it. Sanitized room with huge flat screen TV, overstuffed chair, plus desk and rolling chair. Refrigerator and small microwave. Nice breakfast downstairs with Covid safe protocols.
Check in was fast/easy and staff is friendly. We were checked into our room only to discover someone elses belongings in the room when we entered, thankfully the individual wasnt in the room when we walked in. Front desk corrected and gave us another room - no explanation for what happened though which left my wife uncomfortable. They gave us a breakfast voucher for the inconvenience. Rooms are dated but clean. Breakfast at the hotel isnt worth it - expensive single items or motel 6 type buffet with very minimal items...still expensive. OK stay overall.
I appreciate lots of things about Four Points San Rafael where I stay for 9 days at a time 4 to 6 times per year but there are some management issues that are annoying. Every time I stay, I request a microwave & fridge in my room & every time staff say theyre not sure there are enough to go around. For a patron who stays there for 50 days or so per year, I would expect management to go & buy a $60 microwavee if necessary to be able to say, Certainly, your needs will be met. I appreciate the free internet connection but the quality is substandard so that the connection is often lost & is too weak for Skype to be clear. The complimentary breakfast is a nice add-on but the scrambled eggs are nasty. The made-to-order-omelets are fabulous & Id feel fed if I could have them daily instead of just on the weekends. The tea box is very frequently empty of basic English breakfast black tea & the staff report that it will be a few days until the next delivery. If necessary to keep guests served, its a very short trip to the neighborhood Safeway. In the room, a small table & one or two chairs to go with it would be much more useful to me than the upholstered chair & could replace the desk chair. The new bedspreads look very fresh & lovely to me. The doors to the rooms slam unless one holds them as you close them. Bumpers or slower closing devices would be very respectful for all guests.
This was our second stay at this hotel and both times we have been very pleased with both the service and the room quality, as well as the amenities.We had slow drainage in our shower and within the hour we that we reported it, there was a serviceman at our door who immediately tended to the concern.Staff is always friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet is DELICIOUS - much better than the average complimentary breakfast you receive in most hotels.Highly Recommend this hotel.
Overall we had a good experience. The only challenge was the room being too warm. The A/C, although set at 60, did not cool the room enough and made it difficult to sleep. However, the beds are VERY comfortable and the staff was very pleasant and attentive. We had an issue with the power on one side of the room. My husband and I left for the day to San Francisco and I called and spoke to the operator to let them know the outlet need to be fixed and we were delighted to have everything in working order upon our return. Thank you!!
We have stayed with you before and chose this hotel because of our past experience. Our experience this time was almost as good as the last. The room was not quite up to our expectations: no refrigerator, not enough towels, Kleenex, or toilet tissue. Our room was not made up the second morning, and on the third morning we had to ask to have it made up at 2:30 in the afternoon. The pool was nice and the café was also nice, although breakfast was the same 3 days in a row. I think a room like this could have been priced a little lower.
Cleanly roomsEdit: stayed here again and they put me on the bottom floor. Room is disgusting and outdated. Smells like weed in the hallway. I’m going to stay elsewhere next time I’m in town. On another note staff is extremely friendly.
Great location close to the freeway. Rooms were spacious and clean. Nice pool area with plenty of outdoor seating, gym features some treadmills and dumbbells. Staff was friendly and helpful. Asked for late checkout (1 instead if 12pm) and immediately got it at no charge. Good breakfast - book it in advance, cause that will save you some money.
Ken at the front desk was absolutely amazing and made my stay very enjoyable. I was on a restricted diet (cleanse) so I had to bring some special liquids and foods which needed to stay cool while I attended my workshop and wait for the check in time. He made sure that I checked in 2 hours early and kept my luggage and cooler bag in the back so I didnt have to lug anything around. Throughout my stay, he was always asking how I was and if I needed anything. Clean quiet room, everything was fantastic!
I would not recommend this hotel. Your experience may vary. Update, hotel staff do not care if your safety is at risk. Good luck having the GM or staff help you when your car is broken into with a camera pointed right at your car. Update for 2/8/2020 - hotel management has my information and still no response. I would rate this hotel as zero as I feel my safety is not a concern at this hotel. 1/21/2020 Update at bottom of review. (Initial review) - The hotel is nice. The hot tub was more lukewarm.The pool is heated. As other guests have commented the pool area is noisy and you will hear it in your room. The bathrooms are tiny. You could have a long walk to your room from the front desk.The place is not safe to park your vehicle. My vehicle was broken into though there were no valuables out in view. There are cameras it they are no use if you need to see the video. footage. Staff is promptly replied the hotel is not responsible for damage or items stolen from your vehicle. I was told the hotel at one time had a security guard, but the guard was let go as the vehicles were still being broken into. The hotel parking lot is a prime location for thieves to hit cars.The hotel did not offer to reduce my room rate, provide a future free night, stay, or reward points. I am not looking for anything, but the gesture would or the offer to help contact the local authorities for me would have gone a long way with me. The hotel general manager was not here upon my checkout. I was told an entry would be made into the log. I have not heard from the hotel or the general management regarding my car being broken into. I will update my review if the hotel general Manger contacts me.My recommendation based upon my personal experience is to not stay at this hotel if you are parking a vehicle.Update 1/21/2020, the front desk manager responded to me via email from this review. My contact information was left at the front desk, yet he doesnt appear to have my information. I feel consumers need to know where there is great customer service. I was not expecting anyrhing except help in locating the correct agency and seeing the footage of my vehicle being broken into. I am a guest and had no clue which law enforcement agency to contact. I had to search Google to find out the information to file a police report for my insurance.
Good location as one is close to downtown San Rafael and its restaurants. Also one is just a short walk down the hill from a mall and a large shopping center. The public areas of the hotel are large and spacious, with many places to sit. On Wednesdays, some Sheraton Four Points host a reception, as did this location. It was nice, but at a smaller scale compared to some weve seen--juice size glasses of beer and 2 hot appetizers. The rooms are your normal, average hotel room. No suites at this location. Front desk staff could be more welcoming, but the restaurant staff was great. Breakfast buffet is a couple of notches above the usual--there was smoked salmon every morning, along with bacon, eggs, and potatoes. Also a different entree every morning-- chicken and waffles, biscuits and gravy.... Cost of the buffet is a reasonable $14.
We were here for a Celebration of life and the staff could not have been more helpful and the food was good too
I thought it was really nice! The grounds were nice and they had a outdoor pool in the center of the buildings, as well as a restaurant on one side of the hotel. The rooms good, the beds were pretty comfy I think they had a pillow top on them. And the bathroom was clean and had soap dispensers in the shower. The room also had a 50-inch flat panel TV and On Demand movies, but you have to pay for the movies which I think were $18.99 each, but at least they had HBO as one of the channels. And the room had a microwave and a refrigerator in it. The size of the room was pretty standard for a two queen bed hotel room. And my wife loved it and she has very high standards for hotels, so I thought it was really good!
My mother and I really enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was great. The only thing I didnt like was that you had to have a reservation to use the pool, but this was not Marriots fault. It was due to covid.
The people were nice, friendly, and to the point of who they could host. At the time I visited, Marin County hotels were only allowed to host essential workers. With a very limited staff, we were able to get around to eateries without issue. The bed was luxurious and the infotainment great. Definitely looking forward to visiting again.
Do not stay here. Shady financial practices. Asked for a card for incidentals, charged that card for the room, I gave them my travel card for the room charges and both cards were charged. Trying to resolve is an exercise in futility. No returns calls and managers come and go as they please. Rarely on site. No stars should be an option.
This is a good hotel for a relatively short stay. Considering the prices offered in the Bay Area, this hotel is of good value. Rooms are somewhat small and the furnishings are not especially glitzy, but they are comfortable and pleasant. The location is good for traveling either south to San Francisco itself, or to northern Marin County or Sonoma County. This location appears good for business meetings, as well as for family vacations, or for simple leisure accommodations for single travelers or couples. Another plus is that it is close to shopping centers where out of town visitors can purchase items desired or necessary without traveling far.Staff personnel are extremely helpful and pleasant. Parking is free and plentiful - an amenity not to be taken lightly or for granted. Even though you must drive to San Francisco city to visit the well known tourist sites there, when you consider what you would pay to be closer, this really is a good choice and the trade-off, including the approximately 15-20 minute drive, is worth it.The biggest drawback is the noise from Hwy. 101. It would be dishonest to say that it is not a distraction. Ask for a room away from the highway. However, if significant highway noise doesnt bother you (and for many people it really doesnt), dont hesitate to stay here.Considering the total costs involved in visiting San Francisco or the Northern California Bay Area, you really should consider staying here.
False advertising!!! Free breakfast was advertised but NOT served. When I inquired about it, the hotel front desk guy was very rude about it & didn’t even let me finish talking. The hotel also advertised that they emphasized on cleaning. But the high touch points in the room we stayed were dirty, like light switches & door knots. Not acceptable during this pandemic time, also another false advertisement. We were given a room right by the elevator & over looking the freeway. We could hear the elevator/hallway & freeway traffic 24/7.
We stayed at this busy property in San Rafael, and enjoyed our short stay. Hotel is looking great, lobby and common areas are very enjoyable. Rooms are well appointed and beds comfortable. Now, here are a few comments on the soft side of the property:- Rooms: carpet was very wet in the bedroom. We called, but apart from moving us to a highway facing bedroom, there is nothing they could do. We stayed.- Wanted to warm up some water for tea using the microwave oven. Our paper cup (which is the only option) started burning in the micro wave. We called to see whether we could get a porcelain cup, but ended up with nothing!- Enjoyed drinks by the outside fireplace in the evening, which was nice, except that the ambient warmers ran out of gas one after the other. - Breakfast was decent, and staff friendly in the breakfast area.
Excellent staff, they work hard to make sure guests are comfortable. Breakfast not included but is excellent.. You should know that the hotel is next to the highway so the rooms facing it will be noisy.
This hotel is in a nice location with plenty of shops and restaurants near by. The hotel offers a restaurant, but we didnt try it. The hotel is updated and very clean. The outside area is beautiful, but mother nature didnt give us a chance to use it. The beds are comfortable, the bathroom is clean but very small. You do have a coffee maker, microwave and mini fridge in the room.
Nice clean rooms with fridge, microwave, coffee maker and a safe. Great pool heated to 80 degrees and a hot tub. Comfortable lounge chairs. Lunch can be served poolside or in the restaurant. Good breakfast buffet. Window air-conditioner extremely loud even on lowest fan setting. Refrigerator in room also too loud when the compressor turned on. I had to turn off the fridge but the room became too hot if I turned off the AC.
This is a beautiful property. It is a cat as best as possible. Housekeeping is amazing but understaffed due to Covid. They did everything I asked. It’s just with the way things are right now don’t expect it to be perfect, still go and enjoy what they offer. It is a beautiful property the management is very accommodating and anything that you need if you call they will be there
Arriving after 10 hours of travelling, I just wanted to go to bed! The front desk couldnt find my reservation! Apparently I had mistakenly made the reservation at the wrong Four Points Sheraton in my haste to get all my travelling plans put together. The front desk identified the problem, cancelled my incorrect reservation and got me into my room quickly. That room was a bit noisy for me, and I called down to change it, which they did immediately and with a smile. The staff was great, service was perfect, and the breakfast buffet was quite good. Coffee in the room was surprisingly good. The bed was VERY comfortable. I used the exercise room. It is small with an elliptical, a treadmill and a bike, but it was just what I needed. Evelyn was the manager on duty when I was there and she was there morning and night. She was truly professional and incredibly helpful, especially when I arrived. I would absolutely recommend this hotel. I had a very good experience and will stay there every time that I visit my friends in San Rafael!
For the rate for the room, I was not impressed. Heres why. There are some easy fixes for a lot of these issues.- We asked for a quiet room and received the room across from the ice machine and next to the elevators.- The over three foot pile of dirty towels sat across the hall from our room all weekend.- There are dark water and mildew stains on the ceiling from previous water issues with gaps in the finish of the ceiling.- No coffee was left for us for the in-room coffee machine - we had to go down in the morning to ask for some.- After an hour of no available towels at the pool we went to the front desk to request this - about 30 minutes later they finally brought some. The dirty towels at the pool are left overflowing - Id recommend a larger bin to hold them to keep things looking more tidy.- No way to order breakfast or lunch at the restaurant at 11am on a Sunday - we were given directions to a nearby Starbucks.- Housekeeping knocked on the door several times around 9:30am and 10am while we were still sleeping and then yelled back that we should put the sign out - we would have but there was no sign available for us to put out on the door. Please ensure each room has a do not disturb sign.
This was a nice hotel with awesome beds! The room/decor was dated and a little worn. I was disappointed there were no washcloths in the bathroom, but was too tired to bother asking for some to be sent. We had a great nights sleep on super comfortable beds and felt the price was quite fair. It was clean and comfortable.
We had a great time and plan to stay again. Impeccably clean, great amenities, great value, wonderful staff. Location is very close to northgate mall, few restaurants and few gas stations.Unfortunately, we didn’t make it to the buffet breakfast.
I stayed at this hotel for a conference and the accommodation were adequate and met my expectations. I stayed on the 4th floor and I believe the carpet had just been cleaned because there was a very musty smell and no one addressed it. Also the ac was one that hung out the side of the building but it did its job with cooling down the room. The pool area is very pretty and the staff is incredibly friendly. It also had a gorgeous view and the location was incredibly close to entertainment.
What a nice hotel. Very good price for the quality of the hotel. The rooms were very spacious and quiet. The staff was very friendly and checking in was quick. Its not that hard to find its close to the freeway but tucked away enough to not be so busy. I will definitely be returning.
Rooms need work, drawer kept coming out of dresser and made it dangerous to run into. AC unit couldnt keep up to get to desired temperature, and in my friends room it went out completely. F&B manager was very good and attentive to a busy hotel, front desk staff need more support or faster check in process. Pool area was very nice.
The entire hotel has an odor to it. It may be the cleaning solution, but it is quite strong. The room chair looked like something from a college dorm room. It has seen better days. The restaurant was horrible. The hostess was nowhere to be found so we waited to be seated while waitresses would say she must be coming right back. The buffet ran out of plates, bowls and food. The food that was there had flies on it. When I asked our waitress for some jelly, she replied that we should just wait until they refilled the empty jelly container on the buffet rather than put any effort into finding some. Coffee cups were never refilled. It was not a pleasant way to start a day.When we checked out the front desk manager was there. She listened to what we had to say and agreed that there were issues with the restaurant because of a lack of a manager. She offered us additional starwood points which we thanked her for, but which have never appeared in our account. We would never stay at this hotel again and we would be hesitant to stay at any Four Points hotel again although other Starwood brand hotels are wonderful~!
The staff was very friendly and accomodating - always with a smile and eager to please. Our dinner was very good, portions were generous, and our server was excellent. The beds and pillows were very uncomfortable and the bathroom was quite small. Our cooked to order breakfast consisted of rubbery eggs, stale freezer-burned potatoes, undercooked sausage, and extremely dry toast. This property is in a great location and has good potential, with a well-trained staff but some details could use attention - such as better pillows and a better quality morning meal - to make it a pleasant experience overall.
Sheraton common area were fantastic! Very modern and comfy and inviting. Lobby - gorgeous. Bar area - gorgeous - outside, pool and patio - gorgeous.Rooms were basic but comfy. Only improvement I could say is the hallways. They still scream help. If the ceiling tiles were replaced would totally change the feel.VERY good stay for the price
Unfortunately the room did not feel fresh. I do understand the hotel is a bit dated and carpets are worn out but the room itself was uninviting. To top it off, while the sheets were washed, I found lots of hair bunches in the sheets that somehow made it thru the wash but made the bed feel unclean.Hope this was a one off experience as all the staff have always been nice and I rarely have had issues before a Sheraton facilities.W
Overall, as someone that is in the hotel once a week, this is perfectly fine for me. Ive got a bad back & neck and the beds and pillows work perfectly for my particular needs. As someone that stays at this particular hotel once a week, I had hoped that they would recognize me and place me in the same room. Only once did this happen with the manager. That to me was very satisfying since I tend to work when I get in my room and really want to not be disturbed.
Excellent service. Nice rooms. Good location. However, the outdoor seating area by the lobby is poorly located right underneath some rooms. You can hear people talk from your room and that made sleeping in a bit of a struggle especially in the morning.
This is the perfect hotel for business travelers to the area. Lots of room within the hotel to relax and the customer service is exceptional. They really train the staff her to be guest friendly and that’s a welcome experience. The bedding and rooms are nice and they offer turndown service with chocolates on your bedding. What’s not to love?

2023-10-17 06:48:57People with pet allergies beware. I assumed pets were not allowed in any room at any time but this hotel does not have that policy. All dogs welcome and if you have allergies you might end up in a room that smells like you just walked into a dog grooming facility and is caked in hair every square inch of your room. I stay here regularly and have had a few stays now I thought I just got sick but after seeing this tonight and asking their pet policy I know now I wasn’t sick my sore throat and bloody nose was from previous pets staying here. I love dogs as much as anyone but a more obvious disclosure of exposure risks would have been great. Most people now a days might assume the occasional service dog might have been in the room at some point but this room looks and smells like someone stayed here with several dirty dogs for months. I love this hotel and the staff and I’m super sad I won’t be able to stay here in the future again.

My husband and I stay at marriott properties all over the world and have never had front desk staff make us feel as valued and welcome as Mark did. He even came from behind the desk to walk with us and tell us about different amenities and services that would be available during our stay. He is obviously very passionate about hospitality and it was felt. Thank you Mark!

2023-07-20 20:41:00The hotel itself is fine - dated rooms and decor, but reasonable comfortable with a convenient location.This review is focused on the hotels operations and staff - specifically how they handle events and wedding blocks. I set up a room block here for my wedding, with an arrangement that would allow me to pay for guests in the block. The booking staff is slow and has poor attention to detail - it took 4 tries for them to get the contract right, and they were clearly copy pasting from old contracts and not updating things like dates, number of guests, etc.,When my guests arrived at the hotel, the faced all kinds of issues: staff tried to charge them for their rooms, staff lied to them about charging them (my sister literally got an alert from her bank, which the front desk tried to argue with her about), front desk were unfriendly and unprofessional.Now more than a month later, I found out that the hotel has double charged several of my guests, and is refusing to return any emails or calls. I have called them daily for a week, Ive left messages with the general mangers office, and have heard absolutely nothing.I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking to book events or wedding blocks - theyll absolutely find a way to mess it up for you and cause a headache.

2023-07-06 23:55:55Located just of 101, this Marriott standard was quite fine for our family group who stayed there for a nearby wedding in Marin. Having the bar and restaurant was super convenient when folks got in late or we wanted something after the welcome happy hour for the wedding. The window AC was quite loud, but did a great job keeping the room cool on a day that got over 100. The lobby air conditioning was not winning the war that day. Navigating the building was super confusing --basically use the elevator unless you have a working key card, and even then you cant enter level 0 with a card. Staff was helpful when our card key failed and when the security lock on the door kept us from getting into our empty room. Shower had plenty of hot water. Check to see if breakfast is included, otherwise stumble down the hill for coffee or a delicious donut. CVS and Safeway were also just a short walk away. Convenient to the county fair as well.

2023-05-27 20:09:20I am so spitting mad, I am having a tough time writing this review. The room they gave us is basically in the basement. It’s dark, dank, and all together miserable. We asked for a different room and it was minimally better but not worth the effort of moving. The people behind the counter are useless. I think the best word is complacent. They really didn’t care if we liked the room or not. They just shrugged and said, “the room is nice.” By Marriott standards, the room is NOT nice! Ironically, we paid extra to have this “upgraded” room. I’d hate to see their normal room!!I gave the hotel 2 stars (instead of 1 star) because the rest of the property is nice. The pool, sitting areas, and restaurant all look good.

2023-07-13 13:10:36Run of the mill room which I guess is what we expected with a chain. The 1rst night after a long day of travel we arrived in our first floor room, walked out in the little sitting area and there was a giant rat that ran by our door. Luckily the rat didnt run into our room when I walked out. My husband is especially terrified of rats so we requested an upper floor which we got. Apparently this hotel does resort day passes where locals can pay $25 to go the pool. I met a few very nice locals but for hotel guests (we stayed 4 nights) it was bad. Two of our days there no towels. My husband had to go ask front desk for towels to be put out in the towel box at the pool. Another day no towels so I went to the desk and the desk was so backed up 6 people in line waiting to be helped so no towel that day so I sat on someones wet chair once they left...pretty gross. Also 2 of the 4 days there were no pool chairs. All taken up by the resort day pass folks paying their $25. I sat outside the pool area by the fireplace one day and dragged a breakfast table chair from outside the Pool area another. Lots of screaming kids jumping in & out of the Pool too. Again mostly day pass locals I assume.

2023-09-07 19:08:43Stayed here on a trip for volleyball and Mark & John were amazing. They were very attentive and gave us complimentary snacks plus drinks. Service was awesome overall, staff was very friendly and helpful.
