Four Streams Kitchen in Aptos

Highly recommend in spite of the following...1. Parking is dark, dangerous and super congested between 5-6:30 when the dance school lets out and its moms, little girls and monster trucks and huge SUVs going every which-a-way.2. Vagrants arguing and pushing eachother right at the front door on our visit.3. The institutional sickly green interior color. Wear sunglasses?4. They charge $2 for a tiny bowl of white rice 🤣. It does not come with your meal, never saw that before.So why 5 stars and the recommendation? 3 words, Szechuan boiled fish! Wow. 🤯. I think they use tilapia, I dont like tilapia and yet this soup is awesome! Huge portion, lots of fish and veggies and spicy. They must use Szechuan peppercorns, its the kind of spice that hits the back of your pallet and jaw. You may need to go blow your nose. We had to ask for bowls to go with it, I guess they thought we were going to eat out of the hugh trough/bowl?Also ordered the Spicy Eggplant, one of our favorites. This was good but a little too oily. I overheard a lady asking for less oil to be used on her order, smart.As I sat in amazement of my soup I could hear and smell takeout dishes being prepared in the kitchen, the spices, sauces and most importantly wok hei were intoxicating. We will be back for sure.The owners are super kind and energetic.In spite of the rediculous $2 charge for rice, their prices seem very reasonable.Looks like they have a good lunch deal too.

This place is pretty good, it’s a local restaurant in the Aptos region. This is my second time here I came here after going to Land of Medicine Buddha.The food here is genuinely quite good. It’s a homey space, with a giant wall painted mural. Feels like being invited to someone’s house to eat. Small details like fresh flowers on every table really make a difference.If you’re looking for a cost effective, homey place for Chinese food with a great interior you won’t be disappointed in choosing this restaurant.

I came for the boiled fish. It didnt disappoint! But bring someone to share you cannot do it alone.I now alternate between boiled beef and boiled fish 😄

My 3yr old loves the crab Rangoon! I love the kung pow chicken.. Ive Never liked it from other places! Oner and staff are sweet and friendly. We always order enough for the next day leftovers!!

I live in Aptos and we regularly order from four streams— have, in fact, for many years now before they were rebranded. The prices are good, and their lunch specials are fantastic deals. I order the same thing every time, so they already know what I want by the phone number I’m calling from, which is cool and feels personal. This is rare these days. They’re like family to us.

We’ve tried the broccoli and beef very good. The walnut shrimp very good. Fried rice pretty good. White rice not good. The crab puffs have almost no crab in them.

Food is tasty and fresh. I have enjoyed the quality improvement since this location became Four Seasons.

Their xichuang fish and Yuxiang eggplant are amazing! I love it. The wall painting is quite interesting too. Glad that find a new place to have some authentic Chinese food.
