Not only is this place overall 10 out of 10 but the customer service is out of this world. The cashier was nice and friendly his name was Gabriel. It was my first time and he gave me a great suggestion. This place is definitely worth it out of all the food places in the area.

The food and concretes are really good. Friendly service but nearly every table was dirty and where they cook (its clearly visible to all of the patrons), had food all over the floor. I mean piles of food!

Freddys in San Marcos had a clean and cool vibe. The custard was delicious. I would recommend the dirt custard cup and the turtle custard. Sinqui and the manager had exceptional customer service. Great place to cool off at and get some good eats! Fries were good if you like shoestring fries. We would eat here again.

The staff here is amazing, I came in just before they closed after a very long drive and a long day at work and they were still friendly and welcoming. Even when there was a mixup on the order they still went out of their way to make sure I got what I wanted and was happy with my food. That speaks volumes to the quality of staff. Huge props to the crew that I’m sure was ready to lock up and clean up and head home themselves, being so friendly with one more customer coming in minutes before closing.

The food and frozen custard are awesome. We really loved having dinner at the Freddys. The patty is nice and all other ingredients are very fresh. However the staffs were not as kind and welcoming. Was poor at explaining the food and menu. I thought some of the staffs at the counter were unprofessional.Overall food was good but service was not as good

This review is for their burger only. Its pretty much a fast food smash burger with a lot less meat and not much crispiness or charred edges to matter. The patties are flattened very thin and wide from an already small amount of meat (there are holes), and not cooked with enough heat for a good char. The meat had very little flavor. You could taste the salt more than the beef. I guess getting a double patty would help but not by much.It was also almost 7 bucks for this single patty burger, not the combo. Bun left something to be desired, kinda doughy.Otherwise really enjoyed the standard toppings. Sandwich sliced pickles, onions, and healthy smear of mustard. Thats it.

I went through the drive-through. But they serve a steak burger not regular hamburger. Its delicious. The only thing I dont care about is the string fries but thats my personal preference, they are good to eat I personally dont care for them. So stop in and enjoy.It sits in the northeastern corner of the Nordaul shopping center. Same parking lot of Hooters and McDonalds just at the north end.

Accessibility: they have a drive-thru as well as accessible parking right in front of the building and a ramp to get up to the sidewalk. The door to enter the building is a pull door.Experience: this place surpassed my expectations! Someone once told me this place was okay but they were wrong...this place is great! I ordered the Freddys Original Double without cheese and my girlfriend got the Bacon & Cheese Double Steakburger. The burgers were incredible! Absolutely delicious. The fries were good too and there are tons of them that come in the combo meals as well as a medium drink.I definitely recommend this place.

I had to go through the drive through twice to get my order right and I was met with attitude when I did. I had been very clear and Patient about my order. I still never got it right and just gave up. Definitely not worth it 10/10 don’t recommend. Also it was absolutely disgusting inside there. They were not all that busy for them to 1) get anyones orders wrong or 2) for there to be food on the floor and trash on the counters like there was.

This is the best hamburger Ive had in a while! The thin patties got perfectly crisp on the edges and it really added a great flavor to the burger. I got a #2 a double cheesburger with bacon, fries and a drink. The burger usually comes with mustard, pickles, and onions. I got mine with no mustard, and ate the pickles on the side and it was just perfect. The fries are shoestring fries so they get nice and crisp and there were quite a few sauces to choose from to dip your fries in or add to your burger but I just tried it the way it comes this time and really enjoyed it. I will try the sauces next time. My dad told me about this place and he likes it so much hes been twice this week.

During COVID review: Currently you cannot go in restaurant to order. Orders must be by mobile app or drive thru. Although when arriving, there were 9 cars ahead of me, the line moved quickly and I received my food in about 10 mins. Hailey (or however you spell it) took my order and was very polite and concise. The two associates at the pickup window were both great as well.As far as the food goes, great quality meat on the streak burgers, pickles were fresh, cheese curds were awesome (albeit quite expensive at over 7$ for a large) and the rest of the food was cooked perfectly well and tasted great. Will definitely come back once in a while, as overall the menu is on the pricey side. Thanks Freddys.

We got the double hamburger, and the patties looked like they had been run over by a twenty ton steamroller. The flavor was good. The onion rings were okay, except one of them was full of white powder like it didnt get cooked enough.

Neat place if you’re looking for good burgers, hot dogs, and sandwiches and you want to finish it off with some creamy ice cream or some other delicious dessert.Their hot dog was especially good. It reminded me of Nathan’s, on a tasty toasted bun.Freddy’s will remind you of Ruby’s Diner, but you order at the counter, and then pick up your order when your number is called. The staff was very nice and efficient, and the restaurant was very clean.

Overpriced, for what you get.The chocolate malt was a regular sized which would have been a small anywhere else. The small size they showed me reminded me of a plastic shot glass! It wasnt the best malt, and was more like a shake. The Freddy fries reminded me of Chinese cripsy noodles, as Ive never seen such skinny fries in my life. If theyre going to serve fries that skinny they really need to provide a fork. They only had two napkin dispensers and one of the dispensers remained empty for my entire visit, which had about 3 or 4 customers inside. The employees are not very friendly, happy, or helpful. When I called to ask what their hours where he answered, its the same as always, like I was a regular customer. The outdoor tables didnt look like they had been cleaned in a week..It was my first, and very likely the last time I visit this restaurant.

Not just custard, which is so yummy. They have amazing steak hamburgers and fries. The chili fries are so good too. A combo meal runs about $10 and a kids meal is about $5. The custards range from $5 and up. The whole family loves this places it’s a real treat. Dinning room is clean and open, there is a few outside tables and of course there is a drive through. Make sure to download the app too, each purchase adds up for free items.

I had never heard of this place and stopped because it was the only place open at 11pm. I was not disappointed! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Everything on the menu looked so good but I settled with the chili fries and chili bacon cheeseburger. It was so flavorful and filling. Unfortunately my eyes were bigger than my mouth and I no room left for custard. Ill have to go back and try some!

I dont come here often but if I am anywhere near San Marcos I make sure to swing by for exceptional burgers and custard.Today I came by for my fix and ordered a double jalapeño burger. I sat there enjoying it and realized a third the way in there werent any jalapeños. So I spoke to Trever and he made sure he would fix the issue. I spoke to Camryn and she made me a fresh new order. Now I have an extra meal to enjoy from Freddys tomorrow.Thank you Trever, Camryn and Freddys crew for always taking good care of me and making delicious food.Positive vibrations💚📳🤙🙏🕉

Highly disappointed. I wanted a single veggie patty melt and was told they cant make them because the bread would be too big for patty. It took 3 employees to ring up my order. I cant be the only vegetarian in California. So I was given a double veggie patty melt, costing me $10.49 for the combo meal. My veggie burger was dry and WAY overcooked, to the point of being burned. My ice tea was so weak and watered down, it tasted like water with sugar. I paid for a drink but ended up drinking water. I was charged extra for letucce on a single burger. Really? The dinning room was sooo icy cold, I took my food outside, only to burn my legs on the hot benches because there were no umbrellas to shade from the sun. The trash cans outside were filthy, with food and custard remnants all over. My first visit to a Freddys in California and I was not impressed.

The food was good but the cashier when I went to order my ice cream was very slow and I watched her make an elderly disabled couple wait nearly five minutes before ordering the employee who just cleaned the bathroom make my shakeMeanwhile, there were more than enough cooks in the kitchen and should’ve been more people at the register or preparing things and preferably people that weren’t just handling hazardous waste and chemicals not even five minutes before touching the items that I purchased

I dont even know where to begin with this place. First they were out of gummy worms for my sundae. Ok. Whatever. Then they tell me they discontinued my alternate choice even though its all over the menu. Ok, I guess. Then we ordered two meals and they were so quick to tell us everything theyre out of they almost claimed to be out of Diet Dr. Pepper. Seriously? Next I asked for no pickles or mustard on my burger. They left the pickles off but globbed the mustard on there, almost as if they thought I said extra mustard. Finally, our second meal was supposed to be a medium but they gave us a large. At least the last mistake was to our benefit. Had to wait for them to remake my burger the way I ordered it, and that was after they looked right at me from behind the counter without even the slightest acknowledgement. On top of all that, they were out of ranch also! Horribly unprofessional staff, overpriced food, and they cant even get the order right. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE!!!

Where’s the beef? My burger appeared to have some over cooked hash browns instead of carne. I tried the Yuma location but don’t remember the patties being so small. Don’t get me wrong, nothing went to waste…and the fries should be called impossible fries. They’re so darn difficult to eat. Fry sauce is a good option. Staff is on top of things here…orders taken, expedited, lobby is clean. But where’s the beef.

Freddy is a solid steak burger place. I had a double streak burger there and it was pretty decent. The combo cost me able 11 dollars which is pretty budget friendly. One thing that was great is their fry sauce. I would just go back for that. They have regular and jalapeño. Really really good. Also they have Sweat Tea that is delicious. I only rate them a 3 because the burger was just solid. But i will visit again and update.

I usually prefer a thicker and juicier burger patty, and Freddys (which I was trying on the advice of an out-of-town guest) has fairly thin patties (with a lacy edge all around it- a first for me). If I didnt have the dietary restrictions that I had, I probably would have tried a double cheeseburger, or the patty melt which looked amazing, but my first steak burger was all right (I couldve done with two more lol. I didnt order the french fries, but my friend did, but there were enough to feed an army. They are shoestring fries, very thin and crispy, and absolutely delicious. I couldnt stop dipping into them. The fry sauce they have was great, too! They only have Pepsi products, is the only thing that I didnt like. Interior is shiny 50s looking and very clean.From what I could see theres a single bathroom, thats all gender, and I didnt use it, and theres ample parking. Ill be back for custard and another burger!Edit: oof these are not burgers that travel well. Went through the drive through, and even though we corrected the guy when he read back our order incorrectly, we still ended up with the wrong order and an entire item missing, which the gal at the window asked us to leave the line and come back. I wish we had cause when we got home we noticed they added things we asked them not to and gave us a burger instead of a chicken sandwich. Anyway, the burgers are not great cold and the fries were basically cardboard. I will... stick to eating there I guess?

Come for the frozen custard, love the fries, the burgers are okay. The ingredients on the burgers are good. Decent toppings, the bun is just plain. The patties are smashed thin. Its okay, but it wont be for everyone. I like coming here for the frozen custard desserts and again the fries are thin and well made and seasoned just right. Ill keep returning for the two things I mentioned. One major gripe that I have is that the boxes and bags come to you covered in grease and smeared condiments. You have to use napkins to wipe off the box the burger comes in. They need to fix that.

I live around the area and I decided to try out Freddys for the night. I got a patty melt, cheese curds, and a reeses concrete shake. The melt was good but the cheese curds were tasty and amazing. Sade thought the drive through was very helpful in helping me order and I like the hospitality she gave me. I would definitely visit this place again.

Our family and friends came for dinner to celebrate our son’s seventh birthday. It was his restaurant of choice for the delicious food! It is consistently fantastic - but more than just the highly recommended menu, was the wonderful staff. The manager is extremely rude and disrespectful! How dare he even added plastic bag pieces into our ice cream!!!! This has been reported! After 20 minutes of waiting for ice cream and a few others waiting too, my brother decided to ask if there was any issues with the ice cream because of the delay….the manager responded yelling at my brother “can’t see we are busy the drive thru comes first and we are working on those orders then I have a buy cooking burgers and 2 others on a break. We have to get the drive thru first before everyone in here.” So my brother responded okay can we just have a refund? Manager responded no you can’t have a refund we will get to you when we can….next thing we know we have the ice cream but after one bite we nearly choked on the plastic bag pieces that he put in our ice cream! I visited Freddy’s for the first time yesterday, and I was delighted by the food quality and customer service! My burger and fries both were well seasoned and delicious. We discovered Freddys Steakburgers in Albuquerque and were so happy theyre here. The food is fresh and well cooked, fries are crispy. Order California style if you want veggies, but that doesnt include avocado. The staff is friendly, service is fast and the facility is clean and well maintained.

I would give Freddys a 4.5 star rating but because they dont have a 4.5 button to select I gave them 4. I am not a fast food type of guy But if Im going to eat at a fast food burger joint its going to either be in and out burger or Freddys or five guys. Freddys is unique by the way they make their steakburgers. Their shakes, malts, concretes and custards are on the higher end when it comes to fast food milkshakes and ice creams. However I only eat here about once every 2 to 3 months but last nights combo meal of a burger fries and milkshake was so satisfying that I might make it more often.

We hadnt had dinner yet and with so many good reviews we decided to stop on by for a late night bite. I went through the drive through and service was fast.Fries were shoe string, thin style. They were fresh but flavour was just ok. Diet coke appeared to be missing diet coke syrup. The patty melt I received seemed to be lacking seasoning and salt, the bread was soaked in grease, and the grilled onions didnt add anything. Overall it was pretty flat in taste. I would have rather waited a couple more minutes for food better prepared.

Another thing Freddy’s is known for is their frozen custard. We decided to try it, for review sake only, of course. We went with the mini brownie sundae, and it was scrumptious. The custard made a much smoother, creamier texture, just as was described. There was also a delicious brownie at the bottom.Ambiance - The restaurant was plastered with posters and pictures describing everything from the difference between frozen custard and ice cream, to who Freddy was. Great service and good quality food served southern style. Very friendly and courteous staff, super clean inside and out. The frozen custard is amazing and around thanksgiving they add a slice of pumpkin pie

Burgers are excellent. Flavorful and a true experience to eat. But the fries could use some work. Cut a bit small for my taste but it boils down to personal preference. Would dine again!

It was ok. I wasnt that impressed. I thought it was a little expensive for fast food. My onion rings were really greasy and my mint chocolate shake didnt have a lot of mint flavor. The guy that took my order was very nice. Other than that, it was eh.

Great chili, great fries. Great custard. Some of the employees can be frustrating, and I dont eat the burgers anymore because they are always burnt. But the other food is great if they get your order right. The manager is awesome though if they mess it up.

Loved the food . The box the hatch chili hamburger came in was soggy and the bottom was open from the grease and chills also the bag was wet at bottom. They stuffed our whole order in one bag for 5 people. The guy at the register asked several times if we need condiments and we said yes each time. A little frustrating. Wish the outside seating was open Ate in our car and was very messy.

Had to update my review since weve been going here basically every other weekend! Ever since things got shut down due to COVID, it feels like weve been going here every other weekend and found that their food just keeps getting better and better. Their drive thru is quick and the employees are always great. We usually get the double bacon burger combo with no mustard (fries are my fave and burgers are delish), cheese curds (great every time!), chili cheese fries with no onions (my 11 year old daughter loves it and thats saying a lot cause shes totally picky) and of course their sundaes cause you cant go to Freddys without getting a sundae or concrete! I love Freddys and hope that theyll open one in Poway one day!

We are not fans of custard, but I gotta say the burgers are delicious! They are the thinnest patties I have ever seen in my whole life, I didnt even think it was possible to have them so thin, but the taste totally makes up for it. Do yourself a favor and order up. Like if a normal burger fills you up, order a double here. Youll be glad you did!

The food made me violently sick! My first time here last night and will never return. I ordered there Freddy burger as a lettuce wrap. Im wondering if the lettuce is contaminated with E coli. The wrap was ajoke also they threw a bunch of lettuce on top of the burger not even wraped. It tasted good coming down not so good coming up. Highly do not recommend this place.

Excited to try the new restaurant but upon first impression, I was not wowed. The line to place an order was very long. The cashiers were very slow. The management talked about the long lines at the counter but did not react. I did like the flow from the cashier counter to the beverages. Excited to try the fry sauce. They do need to adjust the temperature for the air conditioning. Absolutely love the jalapeño fry sauce but the french fries were way to thin to enjoy it.

First the wait was horrible then they ended up dropping my little ones chicken tenders so end up pulling up to front to wait a extra 10 min after waiting 15 min for my food just to wait for 2 chicken tenders never again

I want to like this place more. Tiny fries, tasty, but tiny. Burgers are so so. Not great, not bad. In no way shape or form does it compete with In N Out or gourmet spots. Custard is OK. Never seems busy...

It was a privilege having Freddy greet us at the door as soon as we walked in! OK, so it was a giant photo of Freddy but exciting nevertheless. It was our first time at Freddys so we were looking forward to it. We were not disappointed! The cashier explained the menu to us and made certain we ordered exactly what we wanted. The food was excellent and reasonably priced (they give a military discount). The decor is like stepping back in time which is a treat for anyone who still remembers Ozzie and Harriet (like me)..For dessert, we enjoyed a Vanilla Nutter Butter ice cream cookie - delicious! They also have a variety of custard sundays that look like they are oit of this world. We drove thirty miles (one way) to get there and it was well worth it. Well be doing again soon.

Best burger in my opinion. Thin patties, so if you are hungry order the double, but they are crispy around the edges...my new favorite burger spot! Ill even drive past several others, nearly 20 minutes away for these burgers. Thin and crispy french fries, yummy frozen custard. Go get some!!!

‼️‼️ATTENTION ‼️‼️I’m very upset, this is the first time at this location. We had ordered, paid and noticed that three employees were on break together. Thought it was a little strange because wherever I worked, you were never allowed to take breaks at the same time. As we were trying to enjoy our meal we over heard all of them criticizing everyone guest that happened to walk in the door. That was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! To top it off, they were finished with there break and returned to work. I watched them as the three employees walked behind the counter and resumed work WITHOUT WASHING THERE HANDS even doing customers orders! Went to speak to the manager and as it turns out, one out of the three was supposedly a manager! He obviously didn’t care what I had to say. That’s a major heath code violation! And extremely unacceptable!!!!
