We had a delightful brunch here on the recommendation of friends. The menu may be small but the choices were delicious.We confirmed that they were able to accommodate gluten free with a few choices from the menu (and gf soy sauce). Tomoko is very passionate about your experience and offers suggestions for serving/eating the Bento box and blinis. All were appreciated. The gravlax is smoked by her chef/husband with fennel: divine!!

Came here with a reservation and the nice owner greeted us and made us feel at home!Good:- Super cute homey decorations- Absolutely sweet staff- Great ginger pork bowl - so many flavors and great portion sizes!- Miso soup was great and heartyBad:- The French miso toast was average - didn’t feel too different than a normal French toast- The bento box had less flavor than I thought - my favorite part of it was the mushroomsOverall great place to get food pre Coachella! This was a good find.

I’ve been dying to check this place out and finally have a chance today. French Miso Cafe has a really cool and lovely interior thats both cozy and chic at the same time.The staff was so friendly and if you’re a fan of Japanese cuisines, don’t miss out on this. The Bento Box and Gyoza is a must!!!

What a special little place! The setting is absolutely beautiful (we sat outside) and the staff was very wonderful and attentive. I imagine that the owner is always there but she’s a very special lady and I hope other patrons have a chance to interact with her. All of our meals were delicious and I thought everything was very fairly priced for the quality and size!

French Miso Cafe is a must try if you have never been. Tucked away in LA Plaza, this gem delivers a top quality dining experience with staff that is courteous, friendly, welcoming and who make you want to return. Stopped in for brunch today and left completely satisfied. Best French press coffee I have ever had and the good was flavorful, delectable, filling, satisfying and definitely hit the spot. French Miso Cafe is now at the too of my Fave Places to eat in Palm Springs.

Outdoor dinner during a stay for Joshua Tree National Park. The menu rotates every few weeks.App - mushroom soup with truffle oil. Chock full of mushroom bits in decent sized bowl. Felt full & was glad there was some rest time before the main course.Main - Asian sea bass, which was really a rock/white fish. Generous portion again & the skin was nicely seared & the fennel confit had a pickly taste that nicely balanced out the fish.Dessert - cheesecake with blueberry sauce; perfectly creamy without it being overly sweet or rich.Drink - Arnold Palmer; just the right blend of tea & tart lemonadeService - attentive without hoveringVery satisfying dining experience!

Good:- Beautiful outdoor seating, there are heat lamps too!- friendly service - our server as well as the other server in our area checked in on us regularly and were incredibly kind and accommodating- solid flavors - see below for detailsNot so good:- service felt a bit rushed - food was coming out before we were done w our course and then our unfinished food was whisked away without asking if we were done- food was good but had some unfortunate shortcomings - details belowDetails on the food:- Amuse was just tofu in soy sauce with some toppings that didn’t deepen the flavor.- Ravioli was fine, very creamy- mussels (probably my favorite thing we ate) were really well cooked with a creamy Thai curry sauce that was very tasty.- chicken was good but forgettable. The chicken itself was a bit small, felt like about half a thighs worth. The sauce was a bit oily and sweet for my liking.- Short ribs were a huge disappointment. The veggies and mashed potatoes were good, mostly buttery. The meat looked gorgeous and substantial on the plate. It’s flavor was very nice, but I took multiple bites that were purely fat. When I took the time to separate the fat from the meat, I was astonished to find that more than half of the cut was fat. I left the fat sitting on the plate, but it was not addressed by staff.- The mousse was off tonight, but the staff was aware and prefaced the course saying they already knew the texture wasn’t right. Aside from the texture though, the flavors were balanced and refined. Once they figure out the issue, I’m sure it’ll be a lovely end to the meal.

Cute eatery in downtown Palm Springs with inside and a sunny outside dining area. The cuisine is fusion style with influences of France and Japan.For lunch I ordered the bento box with broiled salmon, tofu with soy-ginger, asparagus and rice. My wife ordered the grilled teriyaki tofu with shiitake mushrooms, charred corn, asparagus and rice. Both dishes were delicious and satisfying.There is a decent wine list. We had a bottle of reasonably priced but excellent Sancerre.The service was excellent. Friendly, good humored and very hospitable. Even as they closed up for lunch, we were encouraged to sit and enjoy our wine without feeling rushed.

What a great little place! Tucked in a pedestrian alley to the west of Indian Canyon sits this quaint little cafe with an Asian/French fusion cuisine menu. Your choice of indoor or outdoor seating. The outdoor seats do have umbrellas for shade. The service is good and the menu is concise and focused. They have different menus for brunch on the weekends. I ordered a deconstructed chicken Caesar salad called Chicken Paillard which was a half wedge of romaine covered in absolutely delicious Caesar dressing with shaved Parmesan and a very flattened, grilled chicken breast seasoned with thyme and other herbs that was quite good. Also has a solid selection of adult beverages and a comforting and cozy environment. Highly recommended.

Booked an 8p reservation (an hour before closing) after also having confirmed by text notification that we were on our way, and was turned away when we got there. We were abruptly informed that the restaurant had “only prepared enough food for 20 tables”. If the case is you’re going to turn away diners wanting to eat at your restaurant, then you should at least not have reservations open or have a process to let people know before they get there.We wouldn’t have even gotten that much of an explanation, but I followed him in to make sure I wasn’t charged by OpenTable as a no-show (yes, they have the audacity to charge a booking hold for tables they don’t actually have).There was no “let’s make a reservation for you tomorrow”, or really anything to make us ever want to go back. I’m only giving two stars because I will say the food smelled good. Though it was later in the evening and a lot of restaurants close at 9, Rooster and the Pig down the street sat us right away for a great meal.

Walking up to the smell of baked bread, this fusion restaurant invited me in for an absolutely wonderful meal. Tomoko immediately greeted us and took us to our table, where we sat outside in an open garden environment. Not only did this place provide amazing vegan choices (try the tofu and coconut rice entree) but they offered homemade dog treats for our pup. 10/10 and two huge thumbs up. Ask for Jay, she is amazing!!!

This quaint, tidy, and creative bistro is tucked away just East of the main drag. The food and atmosphere is worth searching the courtyard to find. The menu is small but theres something for everyone. The fresh squeezed lemonade is the best Ive ever had, if you like it fresh and sour! They are only open until 3pm so get there early!

Disappointing experience. Had reservations for inside for brunch, but we were seated outside. In addition to the heat, there are samm flies outside that interfere with the experience. After 20 mins of waiting we were notified that they are out of the items we ordered ( croissant and quiche), so we had to order again.

I may have found the perfect brunch spot. It combines my two favorites - French and Asian. Everything was amazing. We had the bento box, eggs Benedict any the Quiche was so amazing we got 2 of them.That staff is super attentive and the owner is so sweet. No wonder this place has the highest rating in Palm Springs.And on top of it all the courtyard is quaint. I kind of don’t wanna leave - might just spent my day with my bottle of champagne.

The Japanese flavors are district and compliment each item on the menu.The place is a little hidden so once youre on La Plaza, follow the sidewalk signs and youll find yourself in a little cafe Oasis. There are only 8ish two or 4 top tables (some are combinable) so be patient, you may have to wait for a table.Ramen is comforting and with lots of umami! They also sell real champagne, from Champagne, France so be sure to give it a try if youre treating yourself! This is truly a gem in Palm Springs if youre looking for something Japanese!

What a little gem of a place this is! Small, out of the way, intimate with good food and a cosy ambiance in a hidden corner of Palm Springs. French + Japanese? Yes! It works when you meet French Eric from Montpellier and Japanese Tomoko-san youll understand why it works. You can tell both are passionate about what they do and the cosy intimate place they are creating. I liked that Eric, the chef, came out to talk with us about food, just like many of the small South of France bistros might do it. Bearnaise sauce on Eggs Benedict = brilliant & decadent. Its different than the usual Hollandaise sauce. Beautiful little ikebana flower arrangement on tables. So Japanese! Tomoko-san even surprised my dog with home made doggie treats and embodies the Japanese concept of omotenashi, / Japanese hospitality - surprising & delightful service. I cant wait to go back. They are a welcome addition to Palm Springs.

My mother and sisters came upon this amazing cafe while visiting from Seattle. This is the type of restaurant/cafe I’ve looked for my entire adult life. We were greeted warmly while walking through the garden courtyard then seated and greeted by the owner. Our meals were delicately seasoned so you could taste the wonderful freshness of ingredients in each of our meals. The staff were happy you were sitting at one of their perfectly space table as if you were invited into their home. Thank you for showing how a cafe/restaurant should be done. Amazing!

Came here with the intention of getting something quick, a drink and a dessert and there were three unoccupied tables. The hostess told us reservations were coming in 20-25min and I promised her wed be done quickly.. She made us wait 10minutes then the owner came out and told us we dont work like this and told us she wouldnt sit us. Made us wait and turned us away, very disappointing.

Tomoko is very friendly and comes out to talk with the tables about the food and where the inspiration comes from.I ordered the thai curry mussels and a fish and saffron north entree. We went here for lunch to try a variety of different places and had the Pork Ginger. It was absolutely phenomenal and packed with flavor. Would definitely recommend giving this place a try. Everything was made to order and so well balanced. I wish I could visit PS again just for this quaint dinning experience. My partner and I were greeted with such a friendly woman at the podium, I believe she’s the owner. She quickly took us to our table and I truly feel like it was the best table in the house! Very secluded and romantic. The drinks and food was INCREDIBLE. We had the Bento box and the Ginger Pork. Please give these dishes a try. Every single bite was enjoyable. We had the pleasure of having Seth as our waiter. He’s a kind and dry communicative. His positive attitude made this experience top notch. Also, the owner came by and put a chemical free candle next to us to help with the flies outside. We never complained about it but she just jumped into action. Very lovely place.

We were visiting Palm Springs from Houston, TX. We enjoyed 2 wonderful meals at French Miso Cafe. The food is unforgettable! You can tell much love goes into their food and restaurant. Not only is the food amazing but the restaurant atmosphere is very special! The attention to detail in the food is very much appreciated. I had the herb omelette which was delightful the eggs were fluffy and light. It was not heavily salted which I prefer. We also enjoyed their miso soup which was the best miso soup we have ever had. They use fresh ingredients and you can tell. I also had the salmon salad. The salmon was cooked perfectly and served over a light salad of fresh greens. Their croissants are fresh and everything you could ever want in a croissant, flaky buttery soft on the inside. Not to mention excellent cappuccinos. I would return to Palm Springs just to eat at this wonderful restaurant. Truly a gem.

As others have said, this is such a hidden gem owned by French husband and Japanese wife. The wife told us that her and husband wanted to create a homey environment where patrons feel like they’re visiting their home. The food tasted amazing and the portion was just right. It’s a few blocks away from the Main Street, which helps keep the noise level very low. If you’re looking for a nice, quiet breakfast/brunch spot with a unique menu and tasteful decor, you have to check out this place. There is a reason why they earned near perfect stars on various review sites.

Their prices are average. The salmon dish was 18. Mimosas and wines ranging from 9 up. We ordered the salmon and the chicken both from the lunch menu. They do have breakfast options. The salmon was great. But there was not a lot of food on the plate. It is a French cafe so their portions tend to be smaller. The chicken was very good too. If you’re really hungry you might consider ordering something else besides your entree. They were out of their pastries by 1130. We were not able to get croissants. If you want pastries be sure to get there early because according to one of the servers their pastries sell out quickly almost everyday. Overall it was a very pleasant experience. I would definitely go back.

Ahh, a French cafe that has got it.Super sweet owner who understands the meaning of good service. Was available when something was needed without stopping byand interrupting us 5 times with the standard‘is everything alright’. This was a gem of a find! The restaurant has a cute decor, great place to eat and chill. Food was impeccable too! I tried coming back for the tofu and mango rice dish but they ran out. They ran out of many things huhuThe iced tea was made really well! Its the perfect cold brew taste. The green tea they used is a little roasty, which I loved. The black tea is amazing too. Most iced black teas leave a milk sour taste at the end because of how its brewed but this one has a clean finish.Pro tip: Come early next time! I time theyre still on their soft opening so they havent fully figured out the logistics

A gem in the desert! At first, French Miso Cafe appeared to be a convenient and close brunch place to start the morning before we began our Coachella day. We were quite pleasantly surprised by the level of decor and service we were greeted with upon walking through the doors. Our food came quickly and we dug in. My girlfriend ordered the grilled tofu with mango, asparagus, and coconut rice, and I had the kalbi beef with asparagus and rice. While I loved my dish, I thoroughly enjoyed swapping plates with my girlfriend to finish off the tofu dish. I have found it difficult to enjoy vegan dishes as a meat-lover, but boy did I scarf down the grilled tofu and coconut rice. I highly recommend French Miso Cafe for anyone looking to fill their bellies and enjoy it too.
