We love to come here when we visit South Lake Tahoe. The gazpacho is the best. I wish I could get it at home. This time it was raining and we also enjoyed the noodle soup. I got veggie and husband got the pork. The booth was flavorful and I loved the veggies. We also had a dinner salad and the dressing was delicious. Tastes homemade. We’ve had many other things on the menu and always love it. The desserts are great! There’s an inside dining room down stairs and a roof deck outdoor area. The outdoor has great views. There can be a bit of a wait, but it’s worth it.

Amazing and delicious food with reasonable prices. Sorry, but slow and not very professional service. They can be easily overwhelmed at busy dining time. Some menu items may not be available. Good beer on the draft. I recommend Pliny The Elder double IPA. Calamari stakes were amazing, so was jerk halibut. I still recommend this place! I will definitely stop by again when visiting South Lake Tahoe.

Such nice people at this place. Definitely representing Aloha life in the proper manner. Food was fantastic! Coffee was wonderful and unique. It will be a location that I go every time I am in South Lake. It is nice to have great Hawian food with a slightly healthy twist. Those ribs are sooooo good. I would absolutely suggest trying them.

The food and view were great. The wait staff were good but the hostess was terrible she was extremely rude she didnt even acknowledge us when we got there. We were standing there for a very long time and she was just wrapping silverware and didnt even say anything to us. I was very confused about what was going on. I asked if there was a hostess and she informed me she was the hostess but still didnt say anything. It was super bizarre. We were a party of two and she took up a different party of two that arrived after us. She was young but really stinks at her job. I almost left because I didnt know what was going on.

A pleasant surprise!! We arrived 845pm close to 9pm closing time. They never made us feel unwelcome. Our party of 4 immensely enjoyed all of the appetizers and meals. Nice sunset view. We dined rooftop. Would love if they opened up one in Roseville/Sacramento area day down by the river. Menu has wide selection. Priced reasonable.

Beautiful views, great cocktails and beer, and the tacos are incredibly delicious. We tried the Jamaican jerk chicken and the blackened shrimp tacos and could not believe how good they were. The house made sesame vinaigrette is the best dressing I have tasted. It also happens to be gluten free so win-win for me!Dont forget their chips and salsa! Spicy and tasty. Mmmmmm.

Vegetarian and Vegan options are great! Service was quick and the servers were friendly and helpful with recommendations from the menu. Location is convenient and I appreciated that they have parking available. Outdoor seating on the roof/patio was nice with the umbrellas that provide plenty of shade. Will come back again :)

Amazing food with so many gluten free, vegan and vegetarian options! Almost all of their sandwiched that came with chicken or pork could be made with tofu or tempeh. Lots of vegan entree options too. I had the vegan gluten free chocolate peanut butter mousse pie and it was delicious! Highly recommend and very fast service.

I found this place doing a google search. They have a nice variety of dishes to choose from. I am a sucker for fish and chips, so thats what I ended up with. I was highly concerned that my order was excessively fishy smelling. I was also disappointed that I got one small ramekin of tartar sauce (though tasty) for 3 smallish portions of fishy smelling fish. Its .50 cents for extra tartar. I was extremely disappointed that the coleslaw with sesame dressing I was excited to try, was unseasoned cabbage. Yucky. It was almost $20 for a disappointing stomach ache in South Lake, I wont be returning.

Hands down best gluten free restaurant within a 100 mile radius of Reno. If youre able to make to Freshies you will NOT be disappointed. Beautiful Hawaiian theme and many gluten free options including lost classics such as fish and chips, fried chicken, and more!

First time to South Lake Tahoe and this was the first place I ate. It was within walking distance of my hotel but also already had great reviews so though Id try it out.. Im glad I did. Very friendly staff, nice environment and the food was delicious. I had the taco platter with grilled chicken. Ill definitely go back..

Lets start for the staff, hostess was pretty nice, but the servers were very grumpy (specially the two waiters), we definitely didnt feel welcomed there. We ordered 3 fries, two first plates were fine, but the last plate that they brought was a mixed plate with fries and sweet potatoes with a lot of chili powder. Finally all the beers were warm. View is nice though.

I liked it a lot. Wonderful view from the rooftop deck. Good fresh food (seafood too) with lots of options for GF and V diners. My sister recommended it after her vacation a decade ago and I am happy to report that its still going strong.Its not cheap but a nice break cost wise from the Disneyland like pricing at the restaurants by the Marriott/ Gondola.

Not your traditional Hawaiian food, but... We ordered Freshies island plate with Kahlua pork and another with grilled Jamaican spices, sides were edamame, and a half size of My Tri Fries (mix of yam, sweet potatoes, and russet potatoes with Jamaican jerk spices). The mac salad has more liquid than expected, but was still delicious! My favorite was the Jamaican jerk spices on the shrimp and fries! Hubbys from the Hawaiian islands and truly enjoyed the Kahlua pork island plate. Wed come back and eat here again!

The evening started with us wanting to get food from Freshies at 7pm but unable to order online/by phone. We hunted down the restaurant and it became apparent why the phone number didnt go through, they are a small place providing great food. VERY glad we went! First of all, I feel really bad for the staff, they were super busy and didn’t have the structure in place to handle the huge rush of customers that came on the evening we went there. Likely a management issue. We arrived at 6:05, were told a 20 minute wait for a table with shade, seated at 6:37 (at a table with no shade). We were sitting on the rooftop and the sun was blasting us (me, my husband and my 16 month old baby), they had umbrellas but they weren’t placed in such a way that prevented the sun exposure. We asked if the umbrellas could be angled and a staff member said they couldn’t even though we could clearly see the joint at the top where the umbrella would bend. So I placed my baby on my lap to shield him from the sun exposure and figured we’d be able to eat quickly and leave. Nope. An hour after we ordered our food finally arrived, and when it arrived it wasn’t hot- as if it had been sitting on the counter for awhile. And my dish was awful- I got the Island Plate with prawns. Imagine: 1/3 cup cooked rice spread over a dinner plate, topped with prawns, then doused with a 1/2 cup of teriyaki sauce. I picked out the prawns and ate them in a dissociated frenzy because I was so hungry and exhausted from waiting. I didn’t have the time or energy to try to remedy the situation with the completely overwhelmed waitstaff. The interactions we had with the staff were brief and pleasant (no one was blatantly rude to us), however it was really difficult to wait that long with a 16 month baby and have no one inform us about or apologize for the insanely long wait time.

Not Hawaiian food by any means — terrible and overpriced … if you are looking for Hawaiian food or meat that is cooked tender / juicy / flavorful, run far far awayI rarely leave reviews unless I am thrilled or thoroughly disappointed — this is the latter. The meat was dry, the tacos were painfully basic, the rice was old, the chips were stale… I am at loss as to why this place has good reviewsA shame to our culture — take “Ohana” out of the name!

I did not know what to expect from the description google maps provided, but the food at Freshies is amazing! The Country Style Pork Spare Ribs had a great bbq sauce with a hint of sesame. Definitely worth getting! We also got the thai red curry, which was wonderfully balanced.

The rooftop deck has incredible views of the lake, and the food is phenomenal. We are local and mostly hit walkable spots close to Reagan Beach. Thus one is close enough for a walk, and has some neat shops below.Make sure you try the Potato Croquettes appetizer and the halibut if they have it. The tacos are awesome as well.

Freshies is a delicious hidden gem in Lake Tahoe. They have a large menu of options for all different eaters. If you have never tried cauliflower wings this is the place to try them. The Buffalo sauce is spicy but very flavorful. (¡Not for non spicy eaters!) Magical Potato Balls are of course great seasoned exceptionally and who doesnt want fried mashed potatoes! I also ordered the Sweet and Spicy Stir-fry, it was filled with fresh and crunchy veggies and crispy tofu and tempeh with two flavorful sauces. Try and eat it all, because the leftover tofu and tempeh is not good reheated. Lastly the dessert are all homemade and all sound amazing definitely order one or all of them you will not be disappointed.

Not sure whats changed at Freshies recently. Weve been coming here pretty much since Freshies has opened and have sadly noticed over the past year that theyve slowly been losing their touch. Our most recent dinner was really the most disappointing yet. Service was extremely slow. (This was not during any sort of dinner rush. Probably 3 other tables there at the time). We were a party of 4. Our drinks came out one at a time, basically arriving with our appetizers. The calamari app was extremely tough. The potato balls were highly over seasoned. The main course was not really timed in any way, arriving minutes after the appetizers; and then we had to sit and wait around for the bill. The whole experience was just off from what it used to be (a solid 5 stars). We havent given up hope yet as this has always been a favorite.

Kind service, wide selection of vegetarian/vegan options along with carnivore fare, small and relaxed vibe. Modest pricing for portions. I tried the sweet potato cakes last night; wasn’t a fan of canned pineapple or the mango vinaigrette but the cakes and mashed potatoes with sautéed veggies were yummy. The peanut butter and chocolate mousse pie was dense and delicious. Tri fries are an easy crowd pleaser. Came back tonight to try the red curry I saw someone nom last night, no regrets. Curry had very mild heat for me, but a colleague was sweating last night. Overall solid stop for fresher food that comes out quick and with a smile. Mahalo!

We had such a great experience here. The Tahitian coconut limeade was DELICIOUS (see the empty glass in the pic). I think it may have a splash of coconut milk in it.For an entree I got the chicken teriyaki stir fry and wow... the flavors and spices were absolutely unbelievable. I am Freshies where to begin with my review we walked into Freshies on a Saturday night after a full day of hitting the slopes and getting some sick lines when we got there there was no line but we got the last table in the house after we got our table they turned everyone else away because it was too full we wanted to eat something a little bit healthy but where we could also get fries and this place did have salads and fries and the fries had three kinds of Of root vegetables and then you get a side of mayo and put Charlotte in the mayo to get spicy mayo but let’s talk about the ordering process before we get ahead of ourselves of one thing that we wanted was fries and it was a little confusing whether or not we could order fries or not because we didn’t sit on the menu just as we were about to thinking there were no fries anymore we noticed on the table with another little venue that had all of the appetizer options this was slightly confusing a grade and the waitress also took a while to take our order maybe because the place was full but also I maybe didn’t wink enough I tried winking and that didn’t work but eventually we got our order No no let’s talk about the Decour I would call that Hawaiian in the winter snow but if you look outside the window and squinted it was at the light it looks like you were in Hawaii however you were really in a kind of strip mall in south lake Tahoe so not Hawaii but it looked kind of like it could be Hawaii so the deck or was it was all right we got our salad and a plate of all he tuna with macaroni salad and the food was all right yeah but now it’s not about the food I think the food was pretty good it definitely hit the spot in terms of what we wanted with the fries with the three routes that was goodAnd a chop salad was well shops maybe could’ve used some protein in it but that was our fault for not ordering it yes and in the matter of the beverage so the beverage was a coconut lime aid and it was pretty lame but it was good I think it was one of the most refreshing drinks I’ve had in recent it was like drinking or cooking up with lemonade of mine in it I felt like I was back in Hawaii Crampons mails de chef PCS triste heures complements upon the chef for all of his or her recipes three stars

We loved this place. We ordered lots of food to sample all the delicious menu options (with plenty of vegetarian and vegan possibilities). Standouts were the buffalo cauliflower, the tacos and the crunch salad. They have an excellent kids menu as well. Service was great. And to top it off we loved the Hawaiian vibe and menu influence. Stay AWAY! Went there with two small kids and a toddler. They seated us as 4 guests. First we got the kids apple juice which came in little bottles which were not sealed ( Im guessing they are refilled and the health department should be notified) Then our order got screwed up. When asked how was everything we told the waitress the order was wrong and she just said oh an left. All of our fries were not cooked and all of the food was completely tasteless. When I complained the waitress took off the wrong order but added an 18% gratuity. We left hungry and went to a different restaurant. Will never be back! NEVER!

Vegan friendly options.I ate the vegan version of a loco moco called mana plate, the gravy and rice were reminiscent of non veg loco moco but the patty was crunchy, more like a chicken katsu dish. I enjoyed the hybrid version of foods I ate in Hawaii.The texture was good for vegan food and the dishes were not missing flavor. Found this place on Google and we were not disappointed! From the minute you walk into this little gem you are greeted by super friendly staff. Our waitress Talia was the best! This place is straight up yummy. Their options arent unhealthy. The portions arent super large, but that isnt a drawback as Im an American and only know portion sizes that are generally too large anyway.My docking of a star is only due to price and location. Its pricey for what it is, and there are no windows (its inside of a small mall). Its just you and their corny decor.What matters is that the food was delicious and not terribly deleterious to my health. Yum!

So let’s start by saying this is the second chance. Came in the day before today and service was horrible. They took forever just to greet us. Then brought us the wrong food, sent food to a different table when it was ours, then my entree was wrong, but the food was great no complaints there but maybe a touch more salt. Today service is great and food is just as good as it was yesterday. The noodles are the way to go. I have now had this two days in a row, which is very unlike me. I mean I want to take a few orders with me on my road trip back home. It even reheats in the microwave great and still taste amazing. If you are in Lake Tahoe I definitely recommend this place. Oh and the roof top dining area has amazing views.

This will be my last visit. We ordered a noodle and a curry. The noodle tasted like instant noodle. The curry has no curry taste with the salad just mix into one bowl. Get to throw away. The worse part is we ordered to go and the group behind get the food ahead of us. When I asked the server she said she didnt see me around. But I was the one who ask her when the order is ready 10 mins before. She just keeping lying and of course not feel any guilty. They treat customer not only rude, but the food totally no desire two stars.

Ate here twice on our trip to Tahoe. We really loved the salads and lighter options after heavier vacation-y meals. The coconut shrimp app and beer list were also great fun. If possible get a spot on the roof terrace, the view is stunning!

We were introduced to this place by our long-time friends and were very pleased with the food, service, and view! We drove by a few times and didnt give a second thought but when we were invited by locals, it became a no-brainer. This place is obviously known by the locals because it was about a 30 minute wait to be seated on the roof top dining area with a million dollar view!

I ended up getting the noodle bowl, which I should have gone next door for, and my husband had a teriyaki chicken, not at all made in a traditional Hawaiian way. The menu is all over the place and the food was not that great. Its a Hawaiian decorated restaurant with mediocre food. Dont waste your time if youre looking for flavor.

Been coming here for 10+ years. Im not from Tahoe but this place has become a must go every time were in town. Its really all about the fish tacos. You just gotta order them. Its being remodeled a bit now but when its done you should definitely try to get a spot on the deck on the top floor. Great view of the lake. We were recently visiting South Lake Tahoe and discovered this great restaurant. Its got something for everyone including Vegans which is great since Im vegan. Most restaurants have only a couple options for vegans but they had so many great options for vegans to choose from. We were in town for only 3 days but ended up going there twice for dinner. I went because its so hard to get vegetables while traveling -- you often have to resort to steam-table Chinese in gloppy sauces. There was no shortage of vegetables here, well-cooked. Came for the Plineys on tap. Thats all we had and it was great. I cant figure out this place in terms of a resturant. It looks like a healthy mom threw a Hawaiian themed party but still needed approachable food for the kids.

This is the best place to eat in South Lake TAHOE. I dont know what these whining visitors are talking about, but the service is second to none. Youvisitors are welcome to try your hand at the craft . Bet you will fail. Theres a reason its so busy. Ill let you figure it out.

Wow. Red curry is awesome. Very hot wings are actually HOT! They have Pliny the Elder and Chimay on tap. The grilled portobellos were also fantastic. No doubt, a new go-to for us when in SLT.

Wow. It was a mess tonight. Waited on hold and was forgotten about so we drove there. When we got there they did not even know there was someone on the phone. When they said our order was ready the first time they forgot one item. We checked the second time they said it was ready and they forgot a second item. It is tough times but these are pretty basic things. All in all it took 90 minutes.

Heard such great things. Wanted to love it. Bad food worse service. Was ignored for the longest time then when i finally got the last dish of the four it was wrong and sour. Left with a bad taste in my mouth in every sense. Not sure if Ill ever get the guts to try it again. l

Love this place. Get there early for a table as there is not many on the rooftop where you can enjoy a healthy meal while watching the lake. The most popular time of course is sunset.

Walked in at 8:30 on a Fri night. They turned me away. Some BS excuse about it not being busy earlier. Place was over half full. Clearly management had head up ass. Good food and beer from past experiences. But they just lost a customer for life. Freshie lose forever.
