FRIENDSHIP BBQ in Santa Clara

We like to come here for spicier sichuan style BBQ skewer hot pot. Funny enough their rice noodle soup side dish was really good too.They have a more interesting menu of ingredients, inside is clean and chic, and the staff are fast/nice.If you’re indecisive like me, I would recommend the ~ $40 hot pot skewer combo which includes a bit of everything. And then throw in other side bits you like, like duck blood. And yes it’s very good, don’t be prejudiced, try it out.

I visited Friendship bbq with a friend for dinner. The place wasnt busy when we got there, so we were seated right away, but within an hour or so, it got quite busy. For the 2 of us, we ordered the following items :1. Raw beef skewers2. Beef aorta3. Grilled beef marrow4. Grilled scallop5. Dried bean curl roll6. Xinjiang lamb on rose willow branch7. Mongolian beef8. Squid tentaclesMy personal favorites were Mongolian beef, Xinjiang lamb, and raw beef skewers. Lamb and Mongolian beef were cooked really well. Meat was tender and juicy and really flavorful. The raw beef skewers were seasoned really well. Scallops were not as great and definitely lacking flavors. They were very fishy and gritty. It felt like they werent cleaned properly. Squid tentacles and beef aorta were okay. They were quite chewy. The service was fast. Our servers were very attentive.

You can’t go wrong with the most authentic Chinese BBQ place in the South Bay. Everything here is just delightful and delicious! Our server Jayden was so sweet who helped us flipping the skewers and replace plates. 10/10 recommended for gathering with friends and late night hangout!

My husband and I were craving for skewers late night and we came for the first time. The chicken cartilage and fried chicken skeleton were my favorite! We also ordered beef, lamb and chicken wings and they were all delicious! The taste was strong and not too salty which is perfect imo. Staffs were friendly and polite. Would definitely come back!

It come with 10.Chicken Gizzards (3)烤鸡胗: the Chicken Gizzards are not very tender, so I didnt finish them and would not recommend them.Grilled Bun Slices烤馒头片: The Grilled Bun Slices are another one of my favorites, and I always order them when I visit a BBQ place. They have a great taste and texture.Fried Chicken Skeleton Bucket铁板鸡架桶: this is good for the first couple bits !Chicken Gristle(3)烤鸡脆骨: the Chicken Gristle is absolutely delicious and worth tryingDrink: Chi Forest White Peach Sparkling Water元气森林白桃味: It is a popular Chinese sparkling beverage that pairs well with BBQ.Mongolia Beef蒙古牛: Mongolia Beef is a great option for beef lovers. It has a generous portion size, making it the perfect substitute for the Beef Skewer.

This is the best Chinese Northeast BBQ I’ve ever had. It reminds me of my hometown. The food here is so authentic. The service is also very good. They are really open to the feedbacks and always have a heart to improve the quality of food and service. I couldn’t even find a better bbq in Los Angeles. I’ve also took many friends here and they all like it. As for the price, it’s reasonable to me. I’ve been to a cheaper place in Bay Area for Chinese bbq, but I have to say that it’s really not worthy to eat over there compared here with much better food and service and environment! I didn’t really want to share this place since it’s already very popular, but I have to because it’s really really good!

Great food! The fried instant noodle dish was delightful surprise. The noodles were cooked to perfection with just the right amount of crispiness, and the flavors were well-balanced.

Really loved all the skewer options they have available. Personally my favorites are the chicken skin, lamb rose willow branch, pork belly wrapped enoki and fried lean beef skewers. Staff was very nice and quick to bring out our orders and the interior is modern and clean.

Most of the food is very delicious, especially the clam soup. Its the best soup I have eaten in the South bay area. But quite pricey for a small portion, especially the beef bone marrow. One of the bone marrow they served only had very little to eat as shown in the picture. We can see that the bone is super shallow.

An amazing experience of Chinese BBQ skewers that is on par with Japanese Yakitori in a different approach! Skewers wede well marinated and flavorful. We also ordered some dishes like the popular grilled fish that is a perfect pairing with rice & beer. Recommended beer pairing would be Xue Hua from city of Harbin and Wusu since they are both refreshing.Shout out to the excellent service from Jaden, Tiffany, and Jeremy! Honestly, I never expected such a friendly service from Chinese restaurants from my experience but they nailed it! Servers constantly checked on us and we didnt have to ask for water & napkins.This place could get extremely busy so try arriving early. Great thing is that they open late! Atmosphere is nice & cozy with a modern vibe. Overall experience is awesome and glad there is a great place that reminds me of those hidden gems in Asia. Will I go back again? Absolutely yes!!!
