Overall it’s an okay restaurant. But I gave four stars as it‘s precious to have a dimsum place in MTV.Beijing duck was the best among all.Braised tofu has little flavor inside the fried tofu.Chicken feet were good.Congee was good.

Went for a weekend lunch and it would take 20 min to get a seat. Good that the service was okay and food was mostly delicious. Xiaolongbao (小笼包) was the best of all we had, especially with the special sauce provided. I even ordered a second one because I loved it so much! Also love the Shrimp and pork bean curb roll (鲜竹卷) as the bean curb was full of flavor in the broth. Shrimp dumping (虾饺) unfortunately didnt have much flavor and beef rice noodle roll (牛肉肠粉) wasnt authentic style, so wont recommend these two. Beef strip with ginger and scallion (葱姜牛百叶) was okay and my friend tried the chicken feet (凤爪), which he also enjoyed. Pork and preserved egg porridge (皮蛋瘦肉粥) is another good item, flavorful but not oily. Overall nice dim sum place!

Good Cantonese place. We were a huge party and they gave us a private alcove which was nice. Ordered a bunch of food and had a lot of leftovers. All delicious. My favorite was the jelly fish, eggplant stuffed with shrimp paste and orange chicken. The eggplant was cooked perfectly and I loved the sauce. The shrimp paste didn’t look too processed and it tasted more like actual shrimp in the eggplant, it was very good. The scallion pancake was too thin and bland. The tea they serve is good and the waiter was attentive. The buns we got were just okay, the soup dumpling was nothing special, the flavor didn’t wow me. The pineapple fried rice was pretty good and had a lot of canned pineapple in it which I wanted. Decent food all in all. And huge menu with many choices.

Not bad but also not great. Location is excellent and no line around 2pm. Clean looking place with lots of spaces between tables. The food was good. Could be better but not bad. The Mongolian chicken was good needs a little bit more salt but pretty good. The chicken feet was soft and tender. The salt & pepper fish was too crunchy and the filet had a bit of smell. Shrimp & pork dumplings were too globby. Service was efficient!

Went here once and came back again to satisfy our din sum cravings. Always ordered dim sum which we re all delicious. Havent tried their other dishes though.Also, you might notice that the restaurant is not crowded but dont expect food to be ready soon on your table because they get a lot of to-go orders. The first time we went, we got our food fast on a crowded friday night. The second time took almost half an hour on a thursday night.EDIT: dont forget to try their sesame balls!

There are not many dim sum place near mountain view area. This one is good. Been there many times. Food quality is stable. And size is bigger than other place like Koi palace. But as usual as other dim sum place, if you don’t speak Cantonese, you will have some cold faces served you.

Good authentic dim sum. Their non dim-sum menu seemed to be more extensive before their remodeling a few years ago. Regardless if you go for lunch or dinner, you need to get their “Green tea sesame balls”. They’re the best!! Slightly crispy on the outside and a soft black sesame filling on the inside (see picture). Castro street (front of the restaurant) is closed off to cars, there is a parking lot behind the restaurant but it’s difficult to find a spot there if you go during peak times. We don’t bother going for dim sum on weekends. It’s too crowded unless you go right when they open. Service is okay. Don’t expect 5 star service from the servers. Just remind yourself that you’re there for the authentic Cantonese dim sum/food. Bon appetite!

Service is awesome and food is great. This place is clean. I always bring my dog with me for outdoor seating. Dim sum isnt only available during lunch. You can order dim sum for dinner too. Highly recommend.

Ate at this place for lunch outside. Service was really weird. Usually at dim sum Im accustomed to either tallying a menu sheet, or getting things off a cart. Here they just randomly brought us individual dishes and asked if we wanted them half the time they would bring is the same thing we said we didnt want 5 minutes earlier. At one point while we were eating, we went to order more food and they said they would make it to go and bring is a check, but we were still clearly eating our food. We hadnt even been there more than half an hr. Weird... Food was ok. Honestly you can get the same food elsewhere quicker and probably a little cheaper. The restaurant itself looked nice though.

Food is great--havent had a miss yet. Favourites are pan fried chive dumplings and the BBQ duck and wonton noodle soup. Make sure to eat them when theyre fresh out of the kitchen while its super crispy (duck and pan fried dumplings)!Cold milk tea, however, came out overly sweet (like 2x others). I had to refill it with the hot tea they give to tone down the sweetness (was still sweet tho). I guess I double double the serving out of that?The food here is definitely one of the better South Bay options for Hong Kong style cuisine.

Favorite dim sum in the area - 3.5 stars is the sweet spot on Yelp for authentic Chinese restaurants. Everything is pretty good here, and the carts add an extra factor of fun. I don’t think they really have one thing that they’re known for, but I like the pan fried pork + veggie bun and soup dumplings. Nice, efficient staff who speak English and Chinese.

Got the egg custard buns (baked) which is usually not stocked on weekdays. Tastes good, love the crust on the top.Also got the rice noodles with beef (beef chow fun). They are really tasty.There’s a wait for 10-15mins when I arrived at 1 pm Sunday. The line moves up quickly so we didn’t wait for a long time.The servants are nice and will top off our water.The price are reasonable or affordable (20 per person or even less).

Now that it is reopened, we have visited on both weekdays and weekends. Weekdays, while a handful of carts come around, most of your food needs to be ordered. Still good!Weekends get crowded fast now that the dining room seats a lot fewer guests than it used to and no upstairs seating exists, so arrive early. Weekend Dim sum is much better than weekday, and also better than before they closed for remodel.

Hot and sour soap has some ketchup/syrup flavor - are you kidding me?[old review] Come here again after two weeks and the quality significantly dropped. Shrimps tasted like recooked from leftovers. They must have remodeled in the last few years as everything was nice and clean compared to the last time Ive been here. The food was all hot and fresh, and tasted great- would definitely come back more often! Try the off-menu sesame balls, they are amazingly chewy peanut powder covered mochi balls stuffed with sweet black sesame seeds.

The wait wasn’t that bad on a Sunday afternoon around 11:30, only like 20 minute wait. The foood came out right away but a lot of the flavors tasted a bit off to me. The shrimp were hard inside the dumplings, the black bean sauce chicken feet was weirdly sweet and a lot of it just didn’t taste very fresh.

Torn on the dim sum. On one hand, the filling is generous and flavorful. On the other hand, the dumpling flour is too thick and sticky. This results in it being torn when you try to lift it from the steamer, being too chewy, and not adhering to the filling well, so you end up eating the dumpling wrapper and filling separately (or end up splashing soy sauce all over the table). The price is decent, except the Chinese broccoli and other vegetable plates are over priced. Interior is clean and not overcrowded, but doesnt stand out.

5-Stars with great service, outdoor seat, and some of the freshest dimsum. This place is a Sunday brunch destination with homies, lovers, and friends. Parking is super easy. The steamed spare ribs are my favorite, Id highly recommend saving room for egg tarts and all sorts of other dessert....we end up missing out because were already too full. Will be back to indulge more!💪❤️😎

The dim sum is very good, as there is not a lot of dim sum place in Mountain View. Since the street is closed off, there is outdoor seating. On weekends, they have push carts with the food, the old style service, instead of checking from a sheet.

If you show up to a Bay Area dim sum place near noon on a weekend and they can seat you immediately, youre probably not about to have excellent food. That set my expectations going in, and Fu Lam Mum didnt surprise me. The eggplant seemed to be an entire Chinese eggplant cut in thirds, drowned in oil, and made hot with some tastier bits stuck on as an afterthought. I ended up squeezing as much oil out as I could, then pouring it off my plate onto another plate so I could eat another dish. The buns were frugal on mediocre filling. A fried pudding looked more like fried corn starch with some milk. There also seemed to only be one server who wasnt pushing a dim sum cart, and she seemed to have several responsibilities added on top of serving. Overall, my impression is that the high rent + high traffic in downtown Mountain View convinced the restaurant to skimp on ingredients and labor to maintain profit margins.In the future, Ill accept the longer drive to better dim sum places.

Fu Lam Mum is a great dim sum spot in SV! They serve traditional dishes like their roasted duck, Xiao long bao, etc.. Another cool thing they do is if you order a lobster dish they physically bring the live lobster out for you to approve before they cook it. It was very busy when we went so they unfortunately forgot to bring a dish we ordered. Other than that the renovation is very nicely done and food is great. Dont miss it!

I came with a large party (of 9) for lunchtime dimsum to celebrate a relatives birthday. If youre coming with a big party, I highly recommend calling ahead of time to make a reservation.This is your typical run of the mill dimsum, but done well. Their waiters push the food around in carts so you can pick and choose exactly what you want. You can also order off their regular menu as well. Overall, a great experience!

Nice place. We came in 1/2 hour before closing. We were seated and ordered quickly. (The restaurant was freezing! Even the workers were all wearing jackets. Not good on a night that was unseasonably cold.) The food came quick and hot. We ordered Kung pow chicken, it was tasty but for the price it was a smaller portion. Fu Lam Mum is back, with the new model. I like more chinese restaurant can be remodelled like Fu Lam Mum.I ordered three similar plate, they are XO Sauce Turnip cake(Radish Cake, Carrot cake), Salt and Pepper Squid, and Bi Feng Tang Crab. Surprising even they look the same, they do taste very differently, which means its fresh and cooked carefully.

Will definitely be back.Service - super friendly and quick.Food - they have all the usual classics and you can taste the good quality oil they use. Dishes arent too heavily salted or oily. Overall good experience - owner at front super friendly and helpful. The potstickers are AMAZING - got to try them.The downside - not uncommon with cart based dim sum places - is that there are some (usually expensive) dishes that are not popular but readily available and cold. After getting used to some menu based ordering places - I was disappointed in getting few expensive / cold dishes. Moral of story - stick to what looks hot or can be ordered from menu.Overall a solid place and next time Ill remember my advice and experience will be even better!

So happy they reopened! One of our favorite restaurants, closed for remodeling for what seemed like 2 years. Ate there tonight with my son Josh - split the hot & sour soup with wontons (very yummy!), the 7-spice salt & pepper calamari (it works as an appetizer, but was slightly better before when it was an entre), and the Singapore chow fun, which was superb. Along with 2 Tsingtows, the bill was loke $55, and Josh took some of the scrumptious noodles home. The remodeling was terrific - the ambiance is much nicer, as is the service - it has kind of an upscale feel now, with lovely music and a beautiful aquarium. Just so happy that we have Fu Lam Mum back!

I love the outdoor dining option for dim sum! Their food is tasty and the managers are always really nice to us. There is often a wait on the weekends, so get there early or be prepared to wait. Lots of parking options, even if the lot right behind is full. It is on the pricey side (as in I wouldnt drive from SF for this if I lived there), but great for the area and weve found the extra cost worth it, especially during COVID.

The food quality has returned to pre pandemic levels. The har gow skin was the right thinness, firm and not mushy... And the service was fast/efficient. In less than 3 minutes after sitting down, we had not just the hot tea, but something like 6 steaming hot plates of food from 5 push carts in front of us. Thats the way to go!

Fu Lam Mum has been closed for remodeling for ages and they’ve finally opened. The new decor is nice and they’ve added some room dividers so the place doesn’t feel so huge.The a few dim sum carts still patrol the floor but you order most of your food by marking the paper on your table. Don’t know if it’s actually true but it feels like your food is prepared to order instead of sitting around waiting to get selected. Another plus is that you have an expanded selection of dim sum you can select. You’re not limited to what they predicted people would want and toss that on the cart.The food itself was decent, and may have improved some from before the closing. Be aware that it is a bit pricey. Also, don’t forget to unfold the paper on you table as you order. There are actually two columns of food.

Three stars as a dim sum place compared to the many Ive been to on both coasts, four stars as far as dim sum goes on the peninsula. Ive eaten here several times with family and friends. Ive enjoyed eating here in the past - its been my go-to Chinese place on Castro when Im in town.Most recently, I ate alone and ordered the Chicken with Black Bean sauce and Fried Sesame Balls. The Chicken is usually pretty tender, but this time it was hard and chewy (as if it had been reheated) - the sesame balls were crisp on the outside, but undercooked/gooey on the inside (not the center - the rice dough). Edible, but not particularly good and definitely not up to the standards Ive experienced there in the past.So, FYI - food quality does not seem to be consistent. Although the sign on the door states “Soft Opening”, the quality of the dimsum today comes from a well run kitchen! The surprise was the aseafood Soup that came with a puff pastry cover. It was the most delicious light cream soup I ever tasted! I like the weekday concept of ordering a la carte dimsum as each one comes so fresh and hot from the kitchen. Service was outstanding! Fu Lam Mum offers pretty good Dim Sum at a reasonable price. The restaurants hours recently changed and the pricing for late night Dim Sum went with it. What was once a great deal is now just so-so. Service is on-par with other Dim Sum establishments. We usually stick to the traditional Dim Sum choices, which have been consistent over half a dozen visits. I went to the restaurant to ordered food to go. I asked for vegetarian options and the waiter was helpful. The service was very good.When I got home and opened the bags, one of the containers was placed upside down so all of the sauce had poured out of the container. The variety of Dim Sum is not very rich. Tastes a bit too salty as Cantonese food. Service is a bit slow. But good place for get-together.

Even though this place isnt the cleanest, between 9pm and midnight they are serving up late night specials hong Kong style with big friendly tables. the food can be good depending on what you order. On the late night, grab a bit of dim sum. Has become a sentimental favorite.

Didnt seem particularly good value, expecially considering other options in the area. the ingredients didnt seem very fresh, and the dishes didnt taste as authentic as can be had close by. the wait staff was nice, but it took a while to get our orders

They have a great late night menu served from 9pm to midnight. Lunch specials and dimsum are offered at cheaper prices. 3 pieces of dim sum for $10.50From the lunch specials, I recommend the cantonese clay pot chicken (its actually served to you in a mini wok). Sometimes they have a great peking duck special listed on a white board at the front.

Its a nice Chinese restaurant (from a non-chinese person perspective).This place is both nice for lunch and dinner. Dishes I tried and can recommend:- seafood hot & sour soup- dim sums- almost any noodles with meat or shrimps- beef & duck

I love the dim sum here. Its good quality, but when you go on the weekends, it will be busy and the dim sum carts dont come around fast enough, so just beware ofthis.

Tasty Chinese food and dim sum menu. It can get crowded in here even though it is a large space. Ive only had the partial dim sum menu in the evenings but most everything was pretty good.

Try the sticky rice and tofu with shrimp. Be careful with mushrooms with shrimp... Its temperature-hot and will burn you if you dont let it sit for a while.

Bad service. Took forever to bring infant high chair. Halfway through eating they opened a door close to our table in December, where it was cold and rainy outside, and my daughter was sick, and they left door open for remainder of our meal!

Came here late as its the only restaurant open late on Castro St. Place is big, and very cold. Food got cold very quickly. Otherwise food seems authentic and tons of choices to choose from. All staff is chinese and communication can sometimes be difficult.

Okay Cantonse/Chinese restaurant. Lots of seating and good for larger parties (big circular tables can fit lots of people). Generally pretty clean and polite staff. Nothing stood out to me when I went though.

Disappointed over high prices. Food services below expectations. Roast duck and pork over rice is a joke.Old leftover meats can make you vomit. Bye bye!!
