Yummy find right in our neighborhood! Decided to give it a try based on the yelp reviews and was not disappointed! Had Udon, Fusion Fried Rice, chicken wings, gyoza, grilled chicken salad, and several different skewers. Everything was delicious and flavorful.The staff was very friendly and responsive. I cant wait to go back and try the ramen.
Easily seated party of 10 in their private dining room that used to be used for karaoke. Excellently executed appetizers such as grilled whole squid, fried chicken wings and fried oysters, onion pancakes, tempora brussel sprouts, and baked mussels. Our entrees were the jambalaya fried rice, grilled salmon salad, kim chee pwnne pasta, beef udon, seafood ramen, beef short ribs, and the rack of lamb. Everyone enjoyed their meal. To finish off the night, there was fried bananas and lychee ice cream, the perfectly sweet combination of something hot, yet cold. Norina, our server made sure everything came out piping hot and delicious and our drinks flowed as it should. Laurel is a great Oakland neighborhood that has plenty of street parking and Fusuon Kitchen is a much needed gourmet addition to the area.
I am really excited that there are 3 new restaurants in my are, but I am afraid Fusion Kitchen has its work cut out for it. My wife and I went this afternoon and it was disappointing in a number of ways. It is noisy, which ok, is a matter of perception and tolerance. They do have an outdoor area but only 3 tables.We ordered the Mango Salad. It was so garlicky my wife couldnt eat it. It is 80% cucumber with a smattering of french-fry-size pieces of Mango. When we sent it back the only response of the waitress was Thats the way we make it. Okay! They took it off the check but nobody said a word of apology or well mention it to the chef. Even if they dont really mean it that is what good restaurants do. Really good restaurants mean it. (For an incredible mango salad try Anchalee Thai in Berkeley.)Then we had Savory Curry with Japanese Vegetables. I was unaware the brussel sprout was a Japanese vegetable. It was mostly brussel sprout and squash. The curry sauce was gelatenous looking. It tasted better than it looked. Which is good. But not everybody is a brussel sprout fan, tell folks what they are really getting.I am sorry that it is that way. Probably not heading back soon.
Creative dishes, asian fusion and the appetizers especially are ample and wonderful. Very moderately priced. Easy street parking. Staff very friendly and helpful. Will be back

Creative. The dragon fruit fried rice was beautiful and tasty. Great fried bananas. Recommend the mango and quinoa salads.
I placed an order through Uber Eats and had my order cancelled about the time it shouldve arrived. This is absurd since its almost 11pm at night and Im still left without my dinner. Thanks a lot, for nothing, Fusion...
Very clean hidden jewel. The food is really fresh and tasty. Staff is extremely nice. I’ve been twice in one week. Love this place!
I had the spicy prawns and rice and it was a very good. Their kimchi is fresh and tart.
Super good food! Portions are a bit large so just beware but the restaurant is super nice!

2020-02-21 11:20:26This place is soo good! I came in on a last min birthday dinner, and we were greeted and seated fast. We had the whole place to are selfs. The photos do any justice for your mouth really lol. My favorite was the garlic jumbo prawns 😋. The others were short ribs and tempura brussel sprouts and jambalaya fried rice. From the food to the customer service was great! Thank you so much for the treats etc for my birthday ❤

2019-12-14 21:25:44The mango salad is delicious. The short rib is a tasty and filling dish (love the roasted veggies that come on the side). Its kind of a comfort food dish. The udon noodles are really good. The yam noodles were a little weird. I’ll definitely come back. I’m eager to try more of the menu.

We had a group of 6 adults & one child sharing a few appetizers (Grilled whole squid, scallion pancakes, short ribs, garlic fries, fried baby octopus), a couple of bowls of ramen, mango salad and fried banana & green tea ice cream. Everyone loved sharing the dishes (family style) & I kid you not - every dish was prepared fresh & to perfection in terms of taste. Even my 6 year old ate everything & kept asking for more! The salads & ramen come in sizable portions. We don’t live here but will definitely come back when we’re in the area!

If you are in the area you must try this place. I recommend the shallot pancake, fusion fried rice, and fried banana with green tea ice cream for dessert 😊

2019-11-06 08:25:46Was heading home after work and wanted something quick...I happened to see them in my neighborhood so I decided to try it. I had the spicy fried rice and terriyaki chicken entree, I liked the kick of the fried rice. They were pretty good and the service is magical! They were kind of enough to bring my food out to me while I stayed at the car with my daughter while she slept.😊

2019-10-10 20:24:15Fusion Kitchen hasnt been open that long, but they already doing it right! Its an intimate space, with a back patio with extra seating. The food is top notch! We had a bunch of appetizers for lunch and each one was yummy. Our server, Norina (she may be the owner also) is a delight. Definitely worth a visit. Ill be back.

2019-08-18 04:39:16We got the scallion pancakes, avocado salad, ramen and pineapple fried rice. All was amazing except the salad(which was good but not amazing). They may have been a little short staffed or something was up with service, but we are assuming it was happenstance and not the norm. Super cute inside and had an outdoor area(but wr didnt get to see) Overall great!!
